When Chris had finished talking she almost instantly replied with her own thoughts "I know what you mean. My mother had me start playing when I was small too. Mine is back in the dorms though." she explained, "My mother, she once took me to this Muggle show to see this violinist, Lindsey Sterling, because she dances and plays. She thought I'd like it since I take dance too and now I love taking inspiration from her style of performance." she says over to him. He had heard of Lindsey Sterling before, her style was quite unique compared to other violinists. That style would never suit himself though, dancing was something he wasn't fond of "I've heard of her and seen a couple of the covers she has done, the woman sure does have a unique style" the kid said back before waiting to finish what she started. "Its the best feeling in the world, getting to just... fall into the music."

The girl couldn't of said it any better, music was just something hypnotic which anyone could relate too as well as fall in love with "You coul-" said Chris before a voice barged in suddenly. He slowly turned around to see a Ravenclaw sitting down behind him, a book being held in his hands. Jumping into a conversation was rude and disrespectful for the participants, especially if they were deep into a conversation. The Slytherin boy raised his brow unimpressed to the new comer, but for now, he'd let the kid speak and let it slide "Nice job stickin' up fer that lad there, by the way, mate. An', about music... I know ya guys are violinists, but... well, I don't know shite-all about them, but they sound quite nice. I've never heard a tune wiv a violin in it that sounded awful." he said over to them, a small nod of agreement coming from Chris. He opened his mouth to reply but was again cut off by another sound, this time a scream.

The rambling scream was soon followed by a loud crash, dust raising up off the ground by the treeline. Without hesitation the Ravenclaw got up and ran to the students aid, unknowing of what happened. Chris turned to the Slytherin girl and looked at her in confusion, his eyes looking towards the treeline "I'd better go help, excuse me..." he said respectfully before walking past her towards the commotion, the violin case still slung around his back. When he got closer the event got more clear, it appeared the girl must of fallen out the tree, with quite a crash too "What on gods green earth were you doing up there?" Chris says in surprise, his eyes looking up the tree before looking down to the girl. She had various cuts and bruises over her face and body, but her knee was an entirely different story. He slowly knelt down and stared at her knee thoughtfully, Chris didn't have any good healing spells and Repairo certainly wasn't one of them "Repario certainly isn't an option, unless you want to destroy the knee entirely" he says with a scratch of his chin, his eyes looking at the girls face "It's probably best that we wait it out and get someone to bring the nurse over, just in case you know." the Irishman explains as he turns his head to the Ravenclaw "Maybe we could do something about these cuts in the meantime..."

It was a rare occasion that Illowy actually genuinely found herself enjoying a conversation. Most people her age found it difficult to hold her interest for long, though mostly because they would babble on about trivial things that held no meaning... it at to her they didn't. Illowy was one who found it difficult to relate to other children her own age.

Whatever semblance of a moment she thought they were having was suddenly broken as another voice found weaseled its way into the conversation. That was one thing she didn't like about Hogwarts; nothing could ever be private. Pale eyes flicked to the Ravenclaw boy's direction, analyzing him a moment. She recognized him well enough to be a first year, recalling seeing him at the Sorting Ceremony. He seemed harmless enough, but that wasn't the point.

However, before she or the other boy had a chance to respond, the peace of the Great Lake was broken by a scream before a girl tumbled out of the tree above, hitting the ground like a sake a potatoes. For the love of all things decent, she thought to herself, realizing it was one yet another first year; though this one was a Slytherin.

Illowy followed close behind the boy, looking over the aftermath of the girl's clumsy decisions. Crossing a arm over her stomach as she rested the opposite elbow on it, closing her eyes and lightly pressing a finger to the nasion of her nose in an exasperated gesture. Truly were all the first years this year so reckless? It felt like every way she turned another first year was going to the hospital wing for one injury or another cause by reckless behavior.

As the boys fussed about what was best to do, Illowy made her way past them, crouching next to the younger girl, "Sit still." she spoke, retreating her wand from her jacket pocket and tucking a long wave of hair behind her ear. The cuts and scrapes were something Illowy was hardly worried about, it was the knee that had to be taken care of more then anything else.

With a gentle tap of her wand to the girl's knee, the second year spoke, "Ferula." Almost instantaneously, a flutter of bandages appeared, wrapping themselves securely around the child's knee and splinting it for support. Of course, the girl would still need to go to the Hospital Wing, but at least that would be an easier trek with the bandages there to support her and ease the pain a bit more.

"There. That should hold you over until you make it to the infirmary." even in spite of the situation and the fact that she'd willingly helped the child, her tone couldn't help but radiate disinterest in having to have assisted. Perhaps she was just gaining a soft spot for the first years, recalling the hardships she'd endured in her first year at the school.

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

Gem smiled at Illowy gratefully in spite of her clear apathy in the situation at hand. She'd helped, and that was that. Now, the new issue was taking her to the hospital wing, which... well, wasn't much of an issue, because Gem had plenty of upper body strength to help her there if she needed it... and she clearly did, the knee was already bruising all ugly, and it looked like it hurt.

"Ehm, I'll... I can take her!" He sniffed, getting on his knees so he could get an arm around her hoisting her up without her having to do much of anything. "And I wasn't thinkin' ov doing reparo on you! Joost... considerin' the consequences of it." He smiled at her sheepishly, then looked to the second years in front of him. He felt a sudden heaviness of unease, like Gem and Brielle were a pest - an inconvenience - on their conversation about... violins. Jeez, maybe that was him being sensitive, but he still felt bad. Mostly for Brielle, but he also felt bad for dragging them into this by opening his stupid mouth.

"Ehm, so... we'll be on our way, I guess. Thanks fer the help." His voice was quiet, for the most part, but at least he was looking at them with a small smile, maybe a bit forced, but it was a smile, nonetheless, a thankful one. He'd have to get Illowy to teach him that spell someday, if she didn't hate him by now.

What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.

Chris was searching though his pockets for anything to clean up the cuts, in the mean time Illowy pushed past both of the boys and kneels down beside the hurt girl. She quickly pulled out her wand and lowered it down to the girls knee, forcing Chris to stop what he was doing and watch "Ferula" she said clearly with a light tap of the knee. Bandages suddenly appeared in front of his eyes, a small smile escaping his mouth as the bandages carefully wrapped around the knee. It was soon followed a splint, perfect for keeping the knee in place as she travelled to the infirmary "Where did she learn that..." thought the Slytherin boy, clearly impressed by the spell.

The two Slytherins got to their feet and watched as the boy helped the hurt 1st year to her feet "Ehm, I'll... I can take her!" sniffed the Hufflepuff as he got to his knees and put an arm around her, getting the girl into a standing position. She soon assured the girl that he wasn't going to use repairo on her, which ultimately would of been the worst thing he could of done "Ehm, so... we'll be on our way, I guess. Thanks fer the help." he said almost shyly, as if he did something wrong to the two Slytherins. Chris was going to ask him what was wrong but decided to let it pass, instead nodding to the boy and allowing him to leave with the patient.

He watched as the two of them slowly went out of distance, a small sigh being heard as soon as they were out of site "That first year reminds me of a friend of mine back in Ireland, always fearless and adventurous" Chris says, reminding himself of how much he always missed home. He slowly turns his head to the student next to him, his thoughts also reminding him of the upcoming class "My potions class is coming up soon so i'll need to start heading off now" the Slytherin says as he begins to move backwards, his gaze still on her "Say... I didn't catch your name" continuous the boy, who moves slower in order to hear her reply.

When Illowy replies, Chris would respond with a friendly smile before turning around and jogging away, a hand being raised to wave her goodbye. Ending the thread as a whole.

Illowy looked up at the Ravenclaw boy as he offered to take the girl back to the hospital wing; which truthfully she was sure he was more then capable of, and they pair seemed to already know one another better then the two older students. The second got back to her feet, letting the boy take her housemate -though Illowy still took care to keep close in case they needed help getting the girl to her feet.

Giving a small nod as the boy thanked them, the brunette spoke, "Be careful getting back to the school." the pair of first years wandered their way back up to the castle and Illowy turned her attention back to the Slytherin lad she'd originally been preoccupied with. After placing her wand back into her pocket, the girl crossed her arms casually over her stomach and nodded in agreement with his statement. Though Illowy had virtually no friends back home, she'd always had her cousin and his best friend, and those two were always bound for trouble with Illowy close on their heels as the voice of reason, only following along to make sure they didn't get themselves killed.

It nearly hadn't occurred to her the time until the boy brought it up, "Yeah, I need to get to the library before my Charms class." she agreed, watching on as the boy started on his way, still looking at her. A small smile crossed her lips, "Illowy Magnard." she replied before watching on as he offered a friendly smile back forward taking his leave.

Stroking a tress of hair behind her ear, the snake took a final glance back at the Great Lake before making her own way to the library.
