"Gosh." Sere exhaled while scrunching her nose slightly when she saw the Mucus Ad Nauseam she threw at her opponent missed, that spell should have given a fairly useful debuff effects for the last half of the match. A second later, Sere felt an invisible attempt to disarming her, and because she wasn't focused enough, the attempt succeeded gracefully. Emily apparently hadn't given up on her efforts to succeed in her Expelliarmus, and her persistence paid off well this time. "No, no, no." The Gryffindor duellist was able to forecast several spells that would possibly come to her after this; some selection of offensive and also debuff spells.

Okay, what would she do if she had to face this situation in an official duel? Sere was able to strategize what she would probably do, what actions she would take, but everything in her plan only applied to team strategy. Two other teammates -like those in the official duel- were all she needed, the other two duellists by her side would be very helpful in a situation like this. At this moment, the opponent in front of her was only one person, and so was she who stood on her own two feet. Sere once again scrunched her nose. There were not many options to take. She had locked in one action while hoping that the impact of this round would not last long, turn the situation and -moreover- the result of the match.

As the previous spell cast by Emily forced Sere to look for her wand Emily took advantage of this fact, casting some intense heat towards her opponent.

But although Sere was occupied by trying to find the wand that had been forcefully removed from her grip earlier it didn't seem to stop her from evading the onslaught of flames coming her way.

In fact it seemed like she didn't even have to try and evade them, it just happened. And Mylo was impressed by the ease in which she seemed to do so. Noting that that was something he could work on, not just trying to cast spells at a high level but also working on their ability to evade the ones that were cast their way.

Unfortunately although she seemed to have mastered the art of evading while looking for something it seemed like Sere hadn't quite seen her wand yet, meaning that she was likely to have to look for it while Emily had another opportunity to cast a potentially game winning spell at her opponent.

Although with how Sere had evaded the previous one Mylo was wondering if she would do so again. Looking at the two duellists he wondered how the rest of this game would work out.

"For the love of--"

Emily was getting this close to chucking her wand across the room. What good was it to use a magic wand if no magic was going to come out of it and people could dodge it?? Emily grumbled. This was a sign of things to come for her upcoming duel, wasn't it...

As Sere got herself together on the other end of the piste, Emily took a split second to grip her wand and do some serious thinking. She wondered... If she hurled the wand at Sere, there might be a greater chance of something happening rather than standing there while her wand refused to cast her spells.

Or Sere was secretly more a master dodger than she was demonstrating and could easily avoid getting hit by a magic stick, let alone the far and few successful spells she would end up casting by the end of this match.

Emily grumbled again.

How do professional duellists manage when so much can go wrong??

Whatever! Sooner or later, her wand will wise up... Even if it means she has to reel her arm back and volley it like an arrow in Sere's direction for it to do something useful.

"Just keep casting for me..." Emily pleaded quietly to her wand.

Alright. Back to the game.

Sere looked here and there, trying to find her wand. Right, no other option but to look for her wand at this point. She needed that magic medium before get back to her performance and continue the match. The girl scratched the back of her head and kept searching, until she saw an object at the the corner of the piste behind her. "What is that? That could be my wand!"

Sere couldn't see the object clearly, so she immediately squatted down to see that thing better. At the same time, she felt a jet of green light pass by her, just missing its target. "Incendio Duo, oh my gosh!" The familiar color made her recognized what kind of spell Emily threw at her. The girl shuddered at the thought of the spell hitting herself. She had to burn in magical fire for at least one round or longer. Pretty scary, but had been part of her calculations in the previous round as she lost her wand from her grip.

When Sere tried to refocus to see what was the object caught her attention, she had to swallow her disappointment, "Ugh, that's not my wand." It was just an optic illusion that somehow happened. Sere stood up and out of the corner of her eye she could feel Emily preparing for the next round. Sere had to make a quick decision regarding her action. In less than five seconds of thinking, Sere had locked another action. She hoped this one would go as she wanted as well.

Mylo already had decided that after the match they would be going up to Sere to get some tips on dodging spells, this was due to the fact that somehow the Gryffindor had once again dodged a spell aimed at her while looking for her wand so that she could get some pay-back.

Dodging talent aside it seemed like Sere had found her wand, and this time Mylo could see that what she had found was indeed hers and not something else, meaning that the next round she would be able to get back at Emily for the previous 2 rounds.

Speaking of Emily she seemed to be having trouble hitting Sere, as although the spells were leaving her wand very nicely they didn't seem to want to hit her opponent, which was quite the problem in a sport that relied on that exact scenario.

But as the end of the duel was nearing Mylo was curious as to if either of them would hit and who would win, it seemed like Sere had the upper hand but Mylo knew very well that a well hit spell could turn the tides and Emily had quite the chance of winning this. Keeping their attention on the duellists before them he was interested to see what strategies they would come up with to win.

In this round, Sere already had the idea to dodge. Emily might cast another offensive spell to damage her in the last two rounds of this match. Readable, so anticipation was a mandatory. However... "Umm," Sere muttered hesitantly. Her wand was more important right now. She had to get her wand back in her hand to continue the duel. Well, she didn't want to just move here and there, dodging until the end. This wasn't a dodgeball-kinda sport, this was a duel.

So once again Sere tried to find her wand. Her eyes occasionally glanced at Emily to make sure what the girl was going to do. "My wand... My wand..." she whispered while looking here and there. It wasn't long until she finally found it. This time the shape was clear, solid that it was her wand.

Sere immediately ran and crouched down to get her wand. Oh my! Once again Sere's shoulders tensed. She felt a spell pass by her. This time she didn't have time to see what spell Emily cast, but it was clearly closer to the target. "Okay, that's enough." Sere took her wand and stood up, returning to her position and raising her wand. Two rounds left and the wand was already back in her hand. Right, only a matter of time before victory was also in her hand.

It would appear staring her wand down to death had a knock on affect to the wand's behaviour. It was a successful cast, though this far into the game it felt like Emily had been waiting too long for a miracle to happen.

Especially now that Emily still had another problem to contend with. While her wand was slowly wising up and casting the way she's intending, Sere was still able to dodge Emily's incoming attacks. Emily stood at her end of the pist, perplexed. How does someone have the muscle memory to continue dodging even when they're looking for their own wand??

It made no sense. More importantly, it made Emily miffed.

Sere recovered her wand and Emily swallowed. If Emily was struggling when Sere was wandless, how on earth was she going to make a dent now that she had reunited with her weapon...?

Grr.

She took a deep breath. There was no point getting upset now. Not when she was this far into their match. She then thought of a positive. Even if she couldn't land a hit, she was still lasting just as long for herself, even if she did take a hit or two herself.

So... It's all just a slow waiting game to the end, huh?

Emily shrugged. Whatever. It would have to do. But she knew she could do more than keep missing every time. She needed a game changer, but what?

Both duellists now had their wands in their hands, and seemed to take full advantage of that fact as both rapidly fired off spells aimed at their opponent.

It seemed that Sere focussed less on her dodging than casting as the spell that Emily threw her way hit her perfectly, which was quite the feat as Sere had been avoiding them for quite a while now. It looked like it hurt but she seemed to still be standing and able to take a few more of those hits, probably due to the fact that she had taken nearly no hits so far.

Emily although lucky with her own spell casting didn't seem to be so lucky in the dodging department either, as flames burst from Sere's wand engulfing the Hufflepuff. Mylo knew she'd be feeling that for a while to come unless she put those out quickly, having been the on the receiving end of that spell themselves before.

Noting that both duellists were still standing, although both of them seemed decently injured, Mylo prepared for what would be the last round of spells flying across the piste, wondering what the two duellists would attempt to do to secure their victory.

Yes!

Another successful spell was sent flying from the tip of Emily's wand and straight into Sere, the lion knocked back by a fortunate Flipendo. It was just a pity that at the exact same moment that Sere was sent from one end of the piste to the other, she fired back with literal fire. Flames quickly met Emily's clothes and she furiously tried to pat them down to very little success.

"Hey--! Enough already-- Ah! With the-- Flames!" Emily's words were rushed out before the fires of Sere's Incendio Duo could singe them. Honestly! What was with fire spells? They were as overrated as they were painful. The least Sere could've done was just a regular Incendio if she was so adamant on setting her opponent on fire!

Emily's strength was weakening. She had already accepted the fact that she most likely wouldn't be winning this match. Still, it wouldn't be long now before their duel would end. If anything, Emily could still finish what she started with whatever dignity she still had left.

Even while the flames continued to eat away at the trimming of her cloak, she felt she could last a little longer before needing a fire extinguisher. One more spell. One more to tap off this otherwise unsuccessful practice duel.

Emily sighed a blend of fatigue and frustration as she prepared herself. If this was the practice duel, then who knows what the official match was going to look like for her.

"Uh, okay. That was right on the target," Sere informed herself. Her accuracy had shown some improvement. The Gryffindor girl was ready for the next match. She hoped to secure another victory without nearly depleting her stamina at end of the round like the previous Fall Games. Like this, just like this. This is good enough for me. Sere moved her body to check her stamina. There were some pain spots, but she was still able to stand firmly on her feet, and she was confident she would be able to walk back to her house without collapsing on the way.

Too focused on her self-evaluation, she ignored Emily once again. The Knockback Jinx struck her, emerging from the tip of the girl's wand whose robe flaming in magical fire. Her accuracy was near-perfect, Sere had no time to dodge. It seemed like she wasn't the only one practicing well, Emily was too. Sere chuckled, stepping back to her spot after being knocked back a few steps by the badger's Flipendo. "You've definitely shown some improvements," She clutched her stomach, "And... Sorry for those flames." She kept chuckling even if her stomach hurt from the strike just now.

Although Sere's praise was sincere, it didn't escape her notice that Emily was in worse condition than herself. The next round was the final one, and after some deliberation, Sere had already decided on her final move. "Thanks for practicing with me, Emily. You too, Mylo." Let's ended this with one good action.
