General The Ravenclaw Table 2017-2018

The brown girl continued looking around the great, large room, her dark eyes settling on the delicious, and some strange, looking food. The girl remembered the in her hurry to escape before her parents would be able to give her a lecture, again.

“Make sure you follow all the rules, alright? If I hear one speck about you being a bad student, during the summer when you will come home, I will make sure to give you a proper punishment.”

The girl wasn’t afraid of her mother—I would never be, the girl thought—but knew that she shouldn’t think that her mother wouldn't punish for any bad deeds. The girl had to do every homework, every little thing right, so she could enjoy a good three months before having to go back to Hogwarts for the next few months.

Being so focused on her thoughts, the girl didn’t hear another student introduce themselves to her. With somewhat of a surprised look, the girl glanced at the hand and boy in front of her. The girl didn’t shake his, only muttering, ”Hello,” and reaching for a sandwhich. Biting into it, the brown-haired girl noticed another student, a girl this time, coming towards her.

After waiting until the newcomer had fully spoken, and putting up a hand as the girl finished the part of the sandwhich she was eating, Evianna asked for the directions to the dorms. She felt tired, too tired to continue being in a large room full of chatty people, wanting to simply lay down in her bed and continue reading her book.

Eri walked into the great hall with a book in her hand. Ignoring everything going on she sits in the far corner of the table away from everyone else as she reads. She wants no part in talking with any of the other raven claws in fears of messing up. She can say some  pretty weird things around people. She gets a drink and continues to read her book on potions. She watched everyone over the top of her book observing them quietly over the rim of her book. She ate a tiny bit of food but didn't eat more than a piece of bread.

Not wanting anyone to know of her food allergies she just decided to eat later and read now. She looked at everybody with curious green eyes but decided to keep quiet.

Cursing quietly in her mind as she knocked over her glass. She caught it before it could spill on her book or the table.

She doesn't see how people can talk to each other for so long. She can only get a sentence in before she says something only she probably would know. Great I'm the most socially awkward person at the most social place in the world, She thinks.

Madeleine sits down at the table, poking at her food. She had previously explored the castle, and was amazed by all the sights. Just had been sorted, she helps herself to some food, hoping to make a new friend. She hoped that they saw past her enthusiasm and enjoyed her for who she is. She knew the likelihood of that happening was low, but she hoped things would be different here. After all, she is at a magic school, and has a whole new world to discover, although she was still on earth. She looks inside the goblet. She tilts her head and takes a sip. Pumpkin, she thinks. She grabs a book from one of the bigger pocket in her robes, and begins to read it, intrigued. I should go to the library after this...I bet they have a wider variety of books. She smiles at the thought. She runs her fingers through her curly red hair, absentmindedly. She turns and notices a peculiar looking girl with green eyes, she seems to be reading a book on potions. Maddie debates on whether she should confront the girl or leave her be. She waves a small wave at her, almost asking for an invitation to come over to the empty area of the table.

Artemys skipped into the Great Hall, taking a deep breath and letting out a pleased exhale. She was finally here, and boy was it an amazing place! She absolutely adored the architecture and loved the antiqueness and it had a rather homey feel. The Great Hall was truly magical. Ha. She giggled at the little pun and walked on, head inclined towards the enchanted ceiling, wondering how they got the candles to not drip wax all over the place. Then again, her "Hogwarts: A History" book had explained in immense detail all about the castle. The lake had been quite beautiful on the first night - all sparkly and blue - it was very pretty. The grounds were also extremely beautiful to look at out the common room window.

The first couple nights were so lovely! Although she hoped to become better friends with her dormmates, she had rushed out this morning to hopefully meet some new people but realized she hadn't said good morning to her dormmates. Well, she'd make sure to say hello later. Arty approached the table and looked down at the long rows of people. She skipped along to where the other first years were, a bright and friendly smile on her face as she addressed the group, seemingly as a whole.
"Hello! Can I sit with you guys?"

Looking over the rim of her book something caught her green eyes. Eri looked up from her potions book and saw another girl wave at her. She nodded at the girl and moved her bag out of an empty spot near her. Maybe Eri woud make friends. This girl seemed very nice.

Eri remembered what her aunt taught her and she put the book down and smiled. This might be a little awkward since she is not great with words.

Eri realizing she was a little hungry put some food onto her plate so she wouldn't be tempted to read if the other girl did come over.

Eri's green eyes glimmered in the candle light and smiled. Watching everyone carefully Eri observed the others at her table. Everyone was so different she was amazed.

Her aunt had told her everyone is kind but you may have to help them find it. Eri didn't think she was right. She hoped people would accept her for who she is. She looked around and saweveryone enjoying each other's company. Everyone seemed to be chatting with one another and that made Eri smile. It seemed so nice that a bunch of strangers could make friends with each other right away.

Arty saw the other young lady move her bag and smiled, gladly taking a seat next to her and taking off her satchel, her wand poking out of it. She quickly ran a hand through her hair, ruffling the back a little. It was getting a bit bushy, she'd need to clean it up again soon. On another note, it was nice to have an interaction with someone without rambling on and on for a change. Arty always blabbered a bit when meeting new people, she just wanted to share and know so much about the other person! And three....two...one...
"Hi! Thanks for lending me a seat. I don't really know anyone very well. Then again, none of us do, really. Us first years, that is, I'm sure upperclassmen already have a bunch of friends. Another exception would also be that a couple of first years knew each other already and were already friends, and then they both got sorted into the same house. Yeah, that could definitely happen. But anywhos, hi! I'm Artemys."
She had been doing a few things at the same time while she had been talking, the first was grabbing breakfast from the options served, happening to take some eggs, sausage, bacon, and toast, as well as a glass of orange juice. She then took out a notebook and quill and had started writing something, scribbling things in a neat cursive handwriting. Once she was done speaking she extended a hand towards the girl, offering a handshake.
Arty's enthusiasm could be a bit much when you first met her....

"H-Hi. I'm Eri Windstone. I would agree. I actually don't know anyone really. Pleasure to meet you." She said quietly. Eri took the girl's hand after listening to everything she has to say. After observing her she smiled and thought her enthusiasm would brighten up the mood. This could be interesting. Finally meeting new people and seeing how different they were.

Eri started to eat some of her food as she listened to her. Still wondering if she would be able to make friends here at all. Smiling she started talking. "I think this place is actually quite nice. It reminds me of the stories my aunt told me about this place. By the way where are you from?" Eri never really talked much about her aunt but she felt like talking today and she didn't really know why.

She continued to eat her food thinking she might be able to fit in just fine. Being put into raven claw was one of the best things that may have happened to her in her whole life. She loved it here at Hogwarts and wondered if anyone else felt the same. They probably thought the same because this place was like a home away from home.

Eri continued eating her food and waited for the other's response.

Madeleine formed a grin on her face. She walks over to the girl, and takes a seat across from her. She noticed another girl had taken a seat next to the green eyed girl. "Hello! Umm... my name is Madeleine, but you can call me Maddie. She grabs a plate and helps herself to some breakfast. What is she supposed to say?! She notices the other girl blabbering away. She drinks her juice and smiles awkwardly. This was probably the most vulnerable she had ever felt. Usually kids just ignored her, but this was different.

Truthfully this place was better than she had ever imagined. There was easily a hundred rooms, waiting to be explored in this place. Being sorted into ravenclaw was amazing. She thought she would be, and she was. "I don't know what is prettier, the view from the outside, or the view looking out." She says gazing out the huge window towards the front of the room. "It's wondrous...almost as if it was a dream. There is no place I've ever been that is like this place." She says, thinking aloud. "Then again you guys probably were waiting for this letter from birth. I'm what's called a muggle-born. I hear it's not the most popular blood type." She says her grin deflating a bit.

"Well how do you like the wizarding world? Is it all you thought it would be?" Eri asked wondering how she viewed thee world where Eri had grown up in. She knew she would either have been in Ravenclaw for the knowledge she already possessed or Slytherin for her cunning personality she hid so well beneath quietness and being shy. In other words Eri was socially awkward but by choice. She didn't want people to know her for who she was and quiet, shy people don't get suspected for doing things not allowed.

She smiled at the girl and wanted her to know she didn't mind muggle-borns. The thing is Eri doesn't care whether anyone is pure-blood, half-blood, or muggle-born. She will fight anyone who picks on her and she won't think twice about it.

Looking back down at her food Eri starts to eat quietly letting the other two girls talk. She refills her plate with more breakfast food and drinks some of her juice. This morning she felt happy for some reason and she didn't know why. Maybe it was the opportunity to get to know knew people and start on the right track here at Hogwarts. Today would be great.

She watched the other two and waited for any of them to speak.

"Well, Eri, it's a pleasure ta meet ya! And I'm from Scotland. Probably gotta funky accent to ya- I mean, both ayas! Hi!" She smiled at the newcomer, hearing her name, and quickly shoveled food into her mouth while scribbling things down on her parchment - unfinished notes from classes. It was neat listening to other people's stories. Usually, she just wrote her own.

"I know right? All the architecture is stunning. I really wish I'd brought one of my cameras. Then again, I don't exactly think we're allowed to take pictures. It's just- wow. A dream." She took another spoonful quickly into her mouth before continuing to speak. "And it's great ta have ya here! I'm half-blood, but I don't really care 'bout all that 'my blood is better than yours' stuff. Like, we all got blood, and it's all red! Unless it's a different color. Then you should probably see a doctor. But I mean, just wow." She once again inclined her head upwards, in awe of where she was. It seemed like she'd already made friends too.

In all honesty, Arty could have been sorted into any house. She had a fierce heart and was very passionate about what she did. She was also very loyal and kind to everyone unless someone pissed her off or tried to cause harm to another. She was very intelligent and creative and had her own strange individuality. And finally, she was incredibly ambitious and clever, thinking of ways to squeeze around the box and achieve her goals.
