Gem considered the walk there, his eyes peering around the dimly lit room, unsure. Yeah, technically it’d be a tedious walk there, but he didn’t want her to be caught on her own, if they even did get caught. He sucked on his tongue, weighing out the options for his and her favor, and made his final choice.

”Yeh, lets joost do it. Not like we’re doin’ a whole labyrinth.” He reached down, getting ahold of her hand, lacing their fingers together nearly. His girlfriend, wow. He couldn’t believe it– he was walking his girlfriend back to her dorm, right at school, well past curfew. It was like stuff he’d read about in fictional books, or seen in movies, he couldn’t believe it was happening to him.

He let her lead the way, spending most of the time they were tip-toeing around in silence, just in case there were any professors sniffing around for students doing exactly what they were doing. That said, he did occasionally kiss her cheek, or the side of her head, or giggle about nothing in particular. He was just happy, there was no other way to really put it.

After all of that, when they’d finally made it to the Slytherin door, he held both of her hands and gave her a hug and a little kiss on the lips as a goodbye, and slipped off as quietly as possible. He was gonna have some sweet dreams tonight, if he could even get his head on the pillow due to excitement.

What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.
