Hearing the white haired girl tell Serena that she was in the right place sent a feeling of relief over her. She definitely didn't want to show up randomly in front of a bunch of people, especially in her pajamas. Hearing the girl ask for her name and comment on her bangs made her blush a little, answering with, "I'm Serena Davies. First Year Hufflepuff, and thanks, your bangs are pretty." It was probably made clear to the other girls there that she was use to giving formal answers, probably due to not being around people much.

Serena giggled at the banter between the two girls, even though she felt a little sad because that's exactly how she use to interact with her girl friends. Hearing the white haired girl apologize for being overly excited she shook her head, but the first girl cut her off, telling her friend that it was okay, which Serena added onto by saying, "Its completely fine, we all get really excited over stuff like this." Hearing the next girl approach Serena just smiled at her, noting that her name was Millie, and that the first girl was named Maggie. Hearing another girl come in and comment on how everything was made Serena nervous, "There...are a lot of people here...alright Serena, just stay calm." she thought to herself.

When Maggie went over to the girl that just walked in and mentioned someone named Lark, Serena concluded that it must have been the white haired girl. When Maggie mentioned a game called "hotseat," Serena just tilted her head and asked, "What's hotseat?" Hoping Maggie would hear her and give her an explanation.

Two girls, one who Maggie didn't recognize and one who Maggie recognized from her movie party, and from the dodgeball match between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw.

No one seemed to know what hotseat actually was, however, and Maggie wasn't that surprised. It was a muggle game, and even then, some people didn't know what it was. Maggie had played it countless times before, as both a muggle and a witch, and it was always the perfect game for a sleepover.

"Basically, one person sits in the middle of the circle," Maggie explained, motioning for the girls to circle up, "and everyone is supposed to ask the person in the middle one question: preferably a juicy one."

Maggie was more than aware that some of the girls would be a bit out of their comfort zones with the game, but that was kind of the whole point, right? To get people to step out of theri comfort zones, to become comfortable with eachother and to hopefully become friends.

"Since it's such a big group, though, I guess we should narrow it down to like, three questions per round." Maggie stepped over someone's legs, sitting criss-cross in the middle of the circle.

"Alright guys, hit me."

Lark looked around as others began to enter the room. She nodded and smiled to Serena glad the girl hadn't been scared off by the excitement. Another first year! Good! Lark didn't have a lot of friends outside Ravenclaw, and Serena seemed really nice.

Another girl walked over to their little group and greeted Maggie before introducing herself as Millie. Lark was sure she had seen her around but never gotten a chance to speak to her. "Heya! Nice to meet you!" Giving a slight wave she turned towards the door and noticed Elzabeth making her way in. "Elz!! Glad you're here!!" Lark waved over her head in the direction of her friend. She watched in awe as Maggie floated the dress over to the wrack. Magic would never stop amazing her, growing up with it or not. By now someone else had come in, her hair was really neat, Lark thought. Two different colors and the cutest outfit.

"This is awesome! I really like what you did with the place."

"Thank you! I really like your pjs!" She blushed a bit as Maggie had already given her quite the compliment. Job well done for sure! This was great! Lark had only ever been part of the Ravenclaw sleepover with the group of friends she had.. never anything this large and certainly not with girls only.

"..Who's down for a good ol' game of hotseat?"

Lark peered at the look on Maggie's face. OH. This would be exciting. She had no clue, absolutely none as to what the game was... but assuming from what she heard sleepovers were like she gathered it meant gossip and juicy tidbits of info from one another.

"Cat!" Lark waved over her friend and gave her a squeeze as she took a space next to her. "I'm glad you guys made it!" She nodded in agreement with Cat's last statement. "Same for me! This is my ... first big actual.. girl's sleepover type thing." Grinning she wriggled in place out of excitement.

Giving a smile to another newcomer, Lark greeted the girl. "Welcome! Yeah, it seems Maggie has something in mind. Never 'eard of it though." She laughed at the girl admitting to being rather competitive. "I'm Lark and -" She would go around the circle of girls introducing those she knew and leaving a moment open for those to introduce themselves that Lark wasn't sure about their names beforehand. Standing, Lark grabbed some other pillows and things for the others to sit on, motioning for anyone who wanted to join in as well as bringing some of the bowls of snacks to the floor for everyone to share. Opening a box of non-magical chocolates, M&Ms or something of the sort, Lark took a couple and offered the box towards Serena.

Listening to Maggie explain the rules, Larks eyes widened as she popped a couple of the chocolates into her mouth. Oh boy.. this would be an interesting first game. Maggie really knew what she was doing, Lark thought in awe. As the girl took a seat in the middle of the group, Lark snuggled into her spot.

"Alright guys, hit me."

Lark thought for a moment and looked around the circle to see if anyone else had something in mind. Wanting to break a bit of the quiet with the group she hoped if she spoke first it might make the others feel more comfortable, something she assumed Maggie meant to do by offering up this game to play first. The first flurry of questions that came to mind were all boy related, courtesy of hormones and Lark's brain being filled with a certain boy the past couple weeks. She wasn't sure by the look on a couple of the girl's faces if they were quite there yet. Might be best to start out a little less... intense.

"Have you ever stolen something?"

As more people began entering, Millie just kept a big smile. She recognized a few of the girls, but not all of them. Like the Ravenclaw Quidditch player, Raegan? Riley? No, it's uh- Ruthie! Ruthie Greer. It had been hard to remember, because the Quidditch game had been announced by Professor Bercegeay who wasn't very good with names. Or anything, if she was being honest. Millie was too nice for that, though.

"Hey, Ruthie Greer, you're on Ravenclaw's team, right? For Quidditch." She added, smiling loftily. "I'm Euphrasia Millie, we should hangout, you're a Chaser too, yeah?"

The conversation continued on and Maggie suggested a game, hotseat. Millie had heard of it once before, but she hadn't ever played it. As Lark set out pillows, Millie sat down on one, and yawned. She hoped that this party wasn't going to be insane, like the costume party Maggie hosted ages ago. Maybe because a new girl was hosting one, it would be better?

Lark started hotseat, and asked Maggie a question. Millie giggled at Maggie's response and when next. "Tell me, Maggie, you're always invested in others relationships, but what about your own? Do you have a boyfriend? Or a girlfriend?" She smirked slightly at her friend, this oughta be good.

She was late. It was something so out of character for her that she was almost screaming inside, mad herself for lollygagging, for fussing with her pajamas for too long. The outfit had ended up being horrifically simple: a light blue flannel over a black tank top and shorts. The problem was, she was never someone who had cared about pajamas before. But she had to impress, had to seem interesting, yeah? She didn't think she'd met any of the other girls before, and first impressions were everything. At least, that was what her dad had always told her.

That was why she found herself darting through the halls, half-late, her dress and mask stuffed carelessly into a tote bag, the thick vinyl poking up in tufts. She wasn't quite sure why she had paid attention to the little advertisement, had decided to attend the sleepover. There was something in her, a certain ache to meet new people, to escape the confines of her common room to attend it she supposed.

Running a hand through her hair, she stared down the long hallway. What door was it again? She counted down the row of doors, trying to remember what she had read. Luckily, the sound of voices prevented her from opening every single door in the hallway during her search.

She pushed the door open, slipping inside. Opening her mouth, she intended to apologize, but- Oh. She took in the scene, noticing the way the other girls inside the room had arranged themselves in a circle, obviously beginning some kind of game. But what game? She wasn't quite sure. Still, she was sure she could figure out the rules based on context clues. Nevertheless, a slight flush crossed her cheeks at the embarrassment of being late. Anxiety gnawed at her and she tried pointedly to ignore it as she plastered on a wide smile.

Her bag slipped from her fingers, resting against the rack holding a plethora of other dresses. She sidled into the circle where there was an open space. Waving at the rest of the girls, who seemed to be introducing themselves, she mumbled her own quiet introduction. "Hi, I'm um- I'm Asteria." Then she settled down, tucking her knees under her chin, as she watched Maggie explain the game. Oh. Oh. This would be interesting.

The hosts, Maggie and Lark, seemed nice enough and they'd certainly done a job dressing this place up, now that Ruthie had an opportunity to look at it. It wasn't really surprising considering how decked out Maggie had decorated the empty classroom for her movie night earlier in the term. Thinking back to that party, she supposed that'd be how she got through the evening: imagine it was like any other friendly gathering.

Eventually, one of the girls approached her, guessing her name and introducing herself. "Yeah, Ruthie is right," she said, waving slightly, "and Chaser. I remember you from the game. It's nice to meet you properly." I had to guess Euphrasia had to be in the year above since she didn't know her from classes, just the pitch. How crazy that match had been, saving Jorah with all that blatching going on. But what remained the most shocking was when Emma struck Kyle and he went tumbling from his broom. No one had expected that and certainly not so early in play. "How's Kyle recovering from that fall?" she asked, trying to make conversation. When Eurphasia said that they should hang out, Ruthie was glad for the opportunity to be gain a potential friend. Smiling lightly, she agreed, "We should, maybe trade pointers on the pitch."

She followed Euphrasia to sit down in the circle, eager to learn what hotseat was. As she sat down, she introduced herself to the group, "I'm Ruthie, nice to meet you all." It turned out hotseat was a set simple questions and answers. Asking questions was easy and it gave Ruthie a concrete task to be able to focus on rather than the prospect of discussing dresses and make-up. Grinding her teeth as she thought, she came up with a question: "What did you do at home that got your parents the most upset?" It wasn't the most exciting, probably on point with the first question asked, but she was okay with that. No need to rush for too personal information with people she didn't really know. She noticed another late comer slot into the circle and she smiled at her. After all, those who come late should look out for one another.

Everyone else seemed as nervous as she was, or at least the girl who'd just walked in seemed to be. Catriona smiled at her, hoping it might help a little. She looked nice enough... Asteria, that was her name. It was a pretty name, too. She had a mass of curly hair that quite suited her. Catriona found herself liking the girl, even though she'd never actually met her. She liked pretty much everyone, though, so this wasn't exactly odd. Besides, Will had literally told her to "diversify her friend group" in his last letter (which was an odd way to put it, but she was used to that from Will). Talking to Asteria was a good way to do that.

She glanced at Lark, who seemed pretty engrossed in the game they were playing. Catriona doubted she'd mind. "Hey," she whispered to Asteria. "Your name is pretty cool." She scooted closer to the other girl. "I'm Catriona. You can call me Cat if you want."

Ok there. She'd tried at least. Now if Asteria rejected her brutally, she could say that she was very friendly and regain some semblance of dignity (not that she had much of that normally).

When she had gotten the word and invite to a 'girls night sleepover party', Astrea had been understandably confused. It would have been a very suspicious breach of her closeted pureblood elite upbringing if she had. So, she spent two days after the invitation was given to her in confused silence, trying her hardest to mentally piece together the foreign concept. In the end, she had resorted to taking the phrase literally. Girls. Nighttime. Sleeping Over.

Only female? How can the word 'party' and 'sleeping' be connected in a single phrase without constant confliction? The concept of resting communally with other girls, strangers no less, without any sort of extra warding or supervision was somewhat unfamiliar to the heir, used to the holiday overnight large gatherings of families, placing all of the heirs together in a large room with wardings from every family line to protect their successor. Perhaps that could have been perceived as a 'sleepover', though it was wholely intermixed and mostly comprised of actually resting together.

Just thinking about it made Astrea remember the large rooms, ceilings jutting up so high it resembled more a cathedral than a house and expanses of fine silk bedsheets, expensively high-quality mink blanket covers thick with natural scenting and bodily warmth. The all-day and night meetings between the band of family ties gathered from all over the world, she would have remembered the feeling of entangled limbs, the sound of accented words and business arrangements, the taste of honey lemon on her lips and the scent of incense hanging in thick tendrils of smoke drifting everywhere.

She shook the memory out of her head as she walked down the halls, her gleaming black leather mary janes clacking loudly with an echo as she carried tomorrow's dress in a satin wrapped box, the cream fabric complimenting the pale blue silken ribbon tied around it. As she neared the doors, she could hear muffled speech coming from inside, tones varying enough that Astrea could decipher at least 6 girls inside, perhaps a bit more.

She sidled the box onto her right hand and used her left to knock lightly upon the heavy doors, waiting for a few seconds of no answer. To this, she decided to just enter, immediately being bombarded with the sight of pillows, blankets, fairy lights, and a circle of 9 girls all gathered round in a circle. Astrea pulled out her wand without a noise, trying to keep her head down until she was able to join the group properly.

"Wingardium Leviosa." The softly spoken spell rolled off her tongue easily and with a flick of her wand her item was sent swaying up and away carefully to rest on a tabletop near a dress rack. She could hear one of the girls sitting down explain a game that was about to start, just in time for the young heir to wander her way over and lower herself to a seating position just outside of the tight circle.

"Good evening. My name is Astrea." Astrea greeted cooly to anyone who had the interest to notice her, her perse grey eyes half-lidded with idleness and silk pastel sleep shorts rubbing against each other with muffled swishes. Really, it was clear that she was mildly confused in regards to the task at hand, yet seemed not particularly inconvenienced. In short, Astrea outwardly seemed as much as the trained pureblood slightly uncomfortable with muggle activities as she was raised. She hadn't the slightest clue who the other people were, perhaps she had seen them in the halls before, but she couldn't bring a name to the faces that surrounded her.

Asteria smiled over at girl and scooted closer to her as well. In a hushed tone of voice, so as to not interrupt the game happening around them, she whispered back "Hi! Cat is such a cute name! I mean, yeah, Catriona is so elegant, but Cat is adorable? Um- I'm Asteria by the way, but oh- you knew that. Whoops." She flushed a faint pink, and ran a hang through her hair awkwardly. There was only one way to get though this and that was to continue.

As she reached this decision and beamed over at Cat, with the awkward smile of someone trying very hard to seem put together, she noticed two more girls enter the room. So, she hadn't been the last one to get to the party. That was a relief at least.

Leaning in closer to Cat, she continued to ramble in a hushed tone, unable to stop the rolling stone that was her train of thought. "So what do you think of the whole ball thing tomorrow? I think it's a bit silly personally, all this drama and hype for one night, but who knows? It might at least be good for a laugh, yeah?" She shrugged slightly as she said this. Then she realized everything that she had just said. Oh no. What if Cat actually was excited about the ball and she had just insulted it to her face. She seemed so sweet, and Asteria didn't want to burn down a potential friendship right as it was starting. Hopefully she would have a sense of humor. That was always important.

Catriona felt her face go hot. "I— thank you? No one's said that to me before." Adorable was a good thing, right? She wasn't sure, no one had ever called her (or her name) adorable before. It was probably a good thing. She'd have to tell Freddie about it though. Her sister would probably freak out.

She laughed a little at Asteria's comment. "I'm pretty sure someone's going set off a bomb or something, given Hogwarts' history with this kind of thing. But yeah, I agree..." There was a bigger reason there, hidden under Catriona's dislike of parties. That reason was the fact that all her friends had dates and she didn't. She was jealous, at least mildly so, and sad, too. Sad because it felt like being abandoned, even though she knew that wasn't the case. They weren't abandoning her by being friends with other people, the very notion was preposterous. But somehow, Catriona's brain wouldn't see reason.

"Would you like to go with me?" she blurted. She immediately wanted to take it back and maybe also melt into the floor and disappear forever. "It might be better than sitting around and being bored? And we could ditch it altogether and go to the library if it gets too bad."
