Express To The Future Finished

“Well that’s a relief, I wouldn’t want anyone to be getting hurt!” Adlai said with a sigh of relief.
“I think I’ll find owling fun! If surely hope we’re able to see each other again.”
Adlai’s heart leaped once again as she heard the whistle.
“I don’t quite mind the ink bottles, I find them lovely actually. Like something you’d see in a documentary film. I think it also makes out letters more sincere.”

Adlai looked at the sketch pad and pencils. “You draw?” She asked. What a silly question, almost everyone did.
Adlai used to draw on the walls of her grandparents home as a child. She was always so proud of herself when she was finished. Her grandparents found this hilarious, her parents not so much.
Adlai also would draw on her mother’s stomach with washable marker when she was pregnant with her sisters. Mostly just small doodles of what she thought their family would like after the baby was born.
The doodles weren’t always realistic since one of them that her mother remembers specifically, is the one where Adlai had draw a dragon as their pet and fairies had been drawn all around the new born baby. Protecting it from the evil an evil flower.
“You’ve always had the wildest images.” Her mother would tell her daily.

Leah put the ink and sketching materials back in her luggage and started to close the bag. "I love drawing! But I didn't pack these - I bet it was one of my older siblings." She sat back down, her eyes tracking the view as it passed by, waiting to see the tell tale towers that (she had been told) heralded the arrival at Hogwarts.

"It's my favourite hobby," she explained. "When I'm older, I want to an a magical artist. We paint or draw - just make art - and magic makes it come to life!"

She recalled the picture of fairy woods that hung on her bedroom wall. It depicted tall trees, black against the navy sky, and thousands of shimmering fairies swooping about like bees. They would occasionally stop what they were doing when Leah walked in the room, as if they really knew who she was. Though her siblings had said fairies were not intelligent enough to recognise people, she secretly hoped that she was the only one who they cared about - like some kind of fairy whisperer.

She'd miss her fairy painting, her room, her home. But it was her turn to have adventures now.

Just as she was ready to leave, Leah heard the brakes squeal like pigs about to be massacred. What a strange image, she thought. Either way, she had to prepare to leave. "I think we get to go across the lake on boats when we start. It sounds exciting."

She lugged her bag up to the door and turned back.

"Are you ready?" she asked her new friend.

“Magical arts sounds well...Magical!” Adlai said laughing as she finished adjusting whatever need be with her robes.
Like Leah she went through her luggage to see if anything were missing. As she did she placed her coin purse inside to keep it safe.
“Why would we need to get to the school by boat is it in an island or something?” Adlai asked her imagination running wild with that idea.
She felt her nerves begin to rattle again when Leah asked if she was ready.
She wasn’t, how could she? Everything was far to new and exciting she felt as though her heart was going to burst.
But she had to calm down, for her own sake.
“As I’ll ever be.” She said taking her luggage and pulling it to her side.
Taking a deep breath she looked at Leah.
“The first year is the busiest from what I’ve heard. I wonder how busy we’ll be. I personally can’t wait for classes to start. Although I’m sure I’ll have a panic attack in everyone of them.” She said awkwardly laughing at the end, knowing that sometimes talking about anxiety made some people uncomfortable much like her family embers and old school friends.

As the train stopped, Leah pulled the door open.

"I think we go over a lake," she explained, recalling what her siblings had said. "But nothing about Hogwarts would surprise me, from what I've heard."

"Don't worry," she added. "I'm sure the teachers will help you if you have a panic attack. And if they don't, or if you want to talk, you can always owl me!"

Her siblings had a friend who had depression, and Leah had learnt that sometimes mental issues were harder to help with than physical disabilities. She planned to ask Ted about how she could help Adlai as she stepped through the door, her cloak flapping around her ankles.

That same cat that had forced her into this compartment passed by again, and Leah grinned. She was thankful for it, as she had just made a friend and had a feeling that it would be harder to do so in a busy compartment. Besides, she bet Adlai was way more awesome.

"I'm dreading the homework," she said, as she started down the corridor, trying to avoid getting into the thick crowds that were sure to emerge at any moment now. "But hey - at least it'll be interesting!"

I'm planning to have her leave now, what do you think? @Adlai Rod

@Leah Isbell I think it’s great, I also have a new RP in the Hufflepuff girls dormitory. Maybe they could see each other again there.
Adlai smiled and nodded as the train slower came to a stop. The sound of a man yelling instructions of what to do next entered the train through open windows and doors. The volume of the chatter amongst students Escalating.

“Yeah, that’s be nice.” Adlai said as she lugged her luggage forward. “It’s going to be one heck of a year that’s for sure. I hope I get to see you again Leah. It would be nice. Maybe I’ll see you at the sorting ceremony?” She said optimistically.
“Maybe in the classroom, corridors, library? I do hope we get sorted into the same house, that’d be fun. If not I guess we’ll just be train mates.”
Adlai smiled not wanting to leave the security of the train yet. It was one of the only things connected to the non-magical world, to her home.
How she missed her home already, how Leah made her forget her rattled nerves, how Leah had brought out the best of her memories.
“I hope you have fun Leah. I hope you make plenty of great friends.” She smiled before moving out of the way so that Leah could get through the door and begin her own extraordinary journey.

@Adlai Rod, yep sounds good! See you there!

"I'm sure we'll see each other at some point," Leah grinned. "And thanks - I hope you have lots of fun this year!"

She waved to Adlai: the girl who had welcomed her into her compartment and been her first friend, the girl who had calmed her nerves. Maybe Hogwarts would be huge and scary and full of shocks, but at least she knew she had a friend there. At least she wouldn't be completely alone.

Leah looked out of the open doorway to the outside world. There, over a large expanse of simmering dark water, stood a massive castle, towers reaching to the sky like figures in the night. For just a moment, Leah could picture the four founders standing there, welcoming her from afar like great gods in the sky.

She shifted her focus to the platform, which was darkened and lit up only by a few lanterns and the wandlight of several professors waiting to escort them. They were talking quietly among themselves, their voices soft murmurs in the quiet evening.

It was finally time. She could hardly wait.

The platform was filling up with people so, with one last goodbye, she stepped off the train and into the surging crowds.
