Alan & @Kyle DeRook
Alan was walking towards the training pitch, at a time where the sun had barely fought through the foggy clouds yet. It was pretty early, but that did not bother the young Gyffindor much- he may just be a little more tired than he usual was. He had no problem with being up early, he kind of liked watching the sun rise even. But now he was walking towards the place he usually dreaded, the place where people would mount their brooms and fly around. Alan always loved watching people fly, but he also envied them for it, as he was too afraid of falling to actually get to feel the freedom of flying. Of course he sometimes just wished to spread his arms and fly like a small bird through the sky, but birds usually did not fall, they were natural flyers. Humans... not so much. Well he was a wizard, but that did not made him invincible, so he would just have to see how to deal with it.

He wanted to learn it, but he would never trust the Flying professor with his life, that witch just seemed incompetent and that was a lot for Alan to say. He wanted to proof it, to her, to everyone who had made fun of him, but most importantly he wanted to proof it to himself. He wanted to proof, that he could learn flying and that he could learn how to overcome his fears. He could do this on his own, completely without the help of the professor. He just did not want to speak with her more than absolutely possible.

He reached the Flying Pitch, the broom in his hand as he looked around. Alan actually had no clue, what kind of broom he had and never bothered to look it up in a Quidditch magazine. There were just so many rather similar looking brooms, that he had no idea and just got confused. He did not even buy it, he had found it during a scavenger hunt in the Great Hall.
So that you do not have to look it up, it is a Cleansweep 2.

Like most Mornings Kyle woke up early. Unlike most mornings he didn’t need to fight with his pillow to get out of bed. Why? Because the pillow was tied to a bed post with the dress shirt he was given to wear to the masquerade ball. As if he would ever be caught dead in a button up. Who did his parents think he was? Kyle was no fancy ministry stooge or some hoity toity member of society. It was bad enough his uniform was a collard shirt, but even then Kyle almost never buttoned it up and he usually never wore the uniform longer than absolutely necessary. Instead of donning his uniform this morning Kyle grabbed a green Kestrals shirt and after sniffing it to make sure it wasn’t too dirty he put it on, followed by a pair of ratty jeans and then his trusted boots. To top off his outfit he donned his leather jacket, the crux of his look.

With a yawn and Tussle of his messy hair Kyle arrived on the straining pitch, his well maintained and obviously cared for Tinderblast in his hand. And to his surprise Kyle saw someone else here before him. That was odd. And it was certainly not a Quidditch player he recognized. Kyle frowned slightly as he approached the boy but as he got closer to him Kyle recognized them. This was the Gryffindor kid Kyle met last year, the one he invited to punch him but they refused and scurried away. The hell were they doing on the pitch this early? And what the hell was their name? Why hadn’t he ever given them a nickname...

“Oi. Tha hell ya doin on the pitch so damned early?”

Alan would flinch slightly, when he suddenly heard a voice out of nowhere. Or well he had not expected to be hearing a voice on the pitch this early. However he soon calmed down, when he figured out who the voice belonged to; it could not have been much more of a coincidence. Well now Alan would only have to grab the courage to ask him, but first he should answer the other boys question.

For a moment he had to think, how did Santario call him again? Then he remembered and smiled lightly, a bit nervous maybe. "Oh, Rook it's just you-", it was a nickname, but none given by Alan so it was easier to remember than the boys name, of course, but still he had some difficulties with it. For a second Alan's eyes fixated on the scar that ran over Kyle's cheek; that was a new one. Alan coughed nervously and held up the broom he had found, "Well... being early means usually no one is around to see me", he explained carefully, "See I can't fly or well I am a bit scared of it, honestly, but I really want to learn and our professor is no help with that..."

Didn't San say he was the Captain of his houses Quidditch Team? He surely remembered something about Quidditch! "You play it, right? You are the Captain of the team, aren't you? So you must be pretty good at flying!", he would ask, just to be sure, maybe a bit of hope in his voice as he stepped towards Kyle curiously. Hopefully that would not end up with him being punched, so Alan was sure to keep some distance.

"Could you teach me how?"

Kyle stared blankly at the smaller Gryffindor who was speaking a mile a minute. he wasn't even entirely sure if the boy stopped to take break. There was alot to unpack there. First off, the being early so noone could see him. Why didnt he want to be seen? he wasn't breaking any rules...atleast not that kyle could see right away. Then the explanation of being unable to fly something he first started doing before he even attended hogwarts, but what was worse was a reasoning of being scared of flying. Of all the things to be scared of in the wizarding world...flying is what you got? Then came the mention of the flying professor being no help and well...yeah the Former reserve of the Harpies was very like Gilderoy Lockheart except opposite in the sense that nobody believed her hype except for her.

Then the big one, Kyle must be good at flying being captain of the quidditch team so Alan wanted kyle to teach him how to fly. Really? Did the other boy forget that during their first encounter Kyle instructed the boy to punch him and they chickened out and quickly left. He wasn't going to waste his time trying to teach someone scared of him, scared of the broom. So if Alan wanted a lesson then...oh this will be good.

Kyle nodded a few times "Alright squirt. You want to learn how to fly? First thing is you can't be afraid. Not of the sky, not of the broom-" he leaned forward and lowered his voice slightly to be more menacing "-and not of me." Kyle slapped his own right cheek twice before offering the other boy a nod "Punch me, as hard as you can. Right here. Do that, all Ill give you your lessons."

Alan stared at him, waiting for some kind of reply or answer from the taller boy. Wasn't he supposed to be younger? How is it that so many people were that much taller than he was? Of course Alan remembered their first encounter somewhat, it had been a while ago though, which is why he did not pay too much thought as to how this could affect their next encounter.

But Alan swallowed thickly, when the other boy mentioned that he could not be afraid. Of course he could be, isn't that what life was about? To face challenges and overgrow fears? But that was not the important thing about what the boy was saying. Alan's lips turned into a frown, when Rook insinuated that Alan was scared of him, but before he could correct Kyle in that matter, the brunette continued, tapping his own cheek before saying something that made Alan pale a bit.

"Punch me, as hard as you can. Right here. Do that, all Ill give you your lessons."

Alan shook his head slowly, "I am not scared of you, and punching you does not prove anything, I won't punch you and that's final... I have no reason to and I don't want to cause you pain, even if you request it!", Alan stared down at his hands, clenching them into fists before slowly relaxing them again, looking at his palms for a second, before shaking his head. He said determined and he was not lying. He did not want to hurt Kyle.

"I want to be your friend, but if hurting you is a requirement for that...", Alan dropped his gaze down to his hands again, before shrugging. He wouldn't change his mind, hurting someone else on purpose and with only the intention to hurt that person was something that he did not want to do... So he just raised his gaze again, looking at Kyle.

"I don't want to... I mean I would love having you teach me, but not under those conditions, I'm sorry, I don't want to hurt you."

Kyle rested his hands in his pockets as the smaller boy once again droned on and on and on. This kid just did not know when to stop talking did he? Further more, he not only did not want to punch Kyle but apparently was going to flat out refuse to do so. Not a very good sign. This other Gryffindor wanted to learn how to fly from him yet the very first time he was asked to do something he did not want to do, he refused to do so. There was no way to teach someone who wouldn't listen to you and was scared of pain. Sometimes you crashed, sometimes into other people, sometimes there was pain involved in flying. Especially in the world of Quidditch.

Kyle shook his head "You are a wordy sod aint ya?" he offered a shrug to Alan.
"Thems the conditions I set Squirt, You can either do as I ask or find someone else to teach you to fly. I don't Barter" he looked the boy over once more, Kyle was pretty sure the smaller boy was older than him but he almost had the same kind of demeanor of that Scrawny Hufflepuff he almost made eat grass not too long ago. "So whats it gonna be aye? You gonna sock me, or are we done here? I got to get to training for Quidditch if this ain't happenin'"

Alan shook his head. He was a bit disappointed, because he had assumed that the boy would be more willing to teach him flying. But Alan also could not judge him; while he did not get why the taller wanted to be punched so badly, he understood why the other boy wanted something in return for giving him a favor. Though Alan would have hoped for conditions that did not involve hurting anyone with the intent of actually hurting them.

Alan looked over the boy, mustering him for a second, before cringing a little when he was called wordy. "Well I will not hurt you on purpose, this is not a game or anything; like a duel or even Quidditch, if you wanna see it that way", he replied, standing with his point of not using violence to get himself a free flying instructor. "Go ahead and practice if those are the only conditions you set", Alan muttered, having decided that even if the other boy would not be willing to teach him, there were other ways he could learn from him; in a less efficient way but it would be a possible way of learning nonetheless. And maybe someday Kyle would change his mind, if he saw that he really wanted to learn it, but Alan did not get his hopes up too much.

"I can watch you train, right? I will try not to bother you", he asked with a promise, an undertone of hope being audible in the way he spoke and looked up to the younger student.

Kyle shook his head disappointed. He had hoped the boy would be able to man up and take a single swing at him, after al Kyle was almost twice his size and obviously my physically built. The idea of this kid hurting Kyle with a punch was laughable. Regardless, he made his choice. He didn’t want to follow the simple instructions, regardless of his excuses, so Kyle wasn’t going to train him. He set the guideline for a reason, if he went against it he would be ruining his credibility, or whatever credibility he had anyway.

“Whatever mate, if you want to just lurk on the sidelines and watch me knock yerself out. But I ain’t gonna train you until my conditions are met. Yeah?” Kyle let out a slight scoff before he turned his back on the boy and made his way towards the center of pitch before he mounted the brook and took to sky. His practice today was maneuverability so he mostly would just fly towards the goal posts at either end and whip and whiz through them as tightly as he could without actually coming to contact with them, one time even going through all three loops on one side in succession. As he did this he paid the boy on the ground no mind.

Alan just stared at the other boy for a while and gave a short nod, "I do not need your lessons, if they have such a requirement-", the Gryffindor was strong in his opinion for once and he would not talked out of them in any way. He would not punch the other kid and that was final; after all he had no reason to punch the kid. Alan had some questions, not to him but general questions about him, but there was no way he would ask them or even bother making more a fool out of himself. He had hoped that the other Gryffindor, the Captain of his team, had some sense of responsibility for Gryffindors interested in the sport he seemed to love.

An inaudible sigh escaped his lip as his proud posture kinda fell together like a house of cards as soon as Kyle was in the sky, far away- far enough to not see it and it did not seem like he was even paying attention, which for Alan was fine. He would have to figure out something else, but he was a Vanes and they did not give up and he himself especially, because he was a Gryffindor. He watched Kyle for maybe a minute or so, before he brushed off his clothes lightly and left the Pitch without looking back at the training boy. Well this meant he could do something else, however it was still early and the boy was tired, so he decided to just go back to the common room and sit in one of the cushioned armchairs close to the fireplace. His broom just laid at his feet as he fought falling asleep. Breakfast wasn't until another hour after all.
Technically Alan left, can go on if Kyle decides to interact when he goes back to the Common Rooms
