The seas grumbled and waves soared higher than usual. Something was wrong. Something big had happened, and who was to blame? Well, at this point of time that is unknown. Something had upset Poseidon, and when Poseidon was upset? Well, let's just say that things don't always end well for anyone. Even his own children.

Camp-Half Blood was peaceful, or, at least, calmer. Monster attacks had lessened and very few new demigods had arrived. Though, you would expect this to feel nice with everything that had happened a few years before, but it wasn't. Everyone was bored and ready for something rather than nothing to happen. Everyone was on edge. Ready for battle since everyone knew that peace never lasted long. Especially when you were a demigod.

The day that the seas began to roar marked a day where everything changed for them. They all knew something was wrong and that it was only a matter of time before three demigods would be called to take on the task of retrieving whatever had been lost. The only question in the air being, who would step up and take on the quest?

Ugh, can this day get any more boring? thought Amelia. She stared out of her cabin window, the Zeus cabin, watching the wind blow the grass and watching the.. waves crashing ashore!? "Yikes!" She squeaked, half excited, half scared. She quickly whipped her head around to check that nobody heard her. After all, she didn't want to be known as the scaredy-cat child of Zeus! What is going on?? she thought, after she was sure nobody heard her. I mean, it is normal for the waves to gently hit the coast line, but it's defiantly NOT normal to see the salty ocean water spraying on the cliff, and soaring this high! At this rate, it could hit my cabin! Amelia panicked. Nah! she smirked. Those waves aren't going that close to the cabin! She walked to her bed, sighed, and sat down. But what I don't understand.. is how the waves are so high! Is there something wrong with the ocean? Then the thought struck her like lightning. How did I not know? Poseidon is angry, that's why! Maybe one of his prized possessions got taken.. like his trident!! That must be why! Well then, I'll help to find it! After all, knowing Poseidon, he gets pretty angry pretty quickly.. she thought. Well, then I better start searching for clues!

Graci felt uneasy. The camp's border usually kept the weather appropriate. But it could just barely fend off a godly storm.

Poseidon was raging and it made everyone nervous. They knew the peace was too good to last. The strawberries weren't being affected. Yet.

Everyone was uneasy and the Ares kids were being more violent. The Hermes kids were more antsy than usual. The Apollo kids started randomly being glowy, which was really annoying at night. And the Athena kids never left their cabin.

As for me and my house, we had to hack our way out of the cabin every morning it was so overgrown with plants.

I hope this gets resolved soon.

But things getting resolved meant a quest. It always did.

She had to be snapped out of her thoughts by her counselor, "Graci, c'mon, breakfast."

"Coming. Do you think they'll hear something from Rachel anytime soon?"

"Yes. If not already then, yes, soon. Very soon." Their eyes went far away and the sky darkened with clouds.

They shook their head, "Anyway, hurry up, breakfast will be starting soon and I have a sinking feeling they will be making an important announcement."

"You know, don't you."

In response they just ruffled her hair, "C'mon Graci girl, we gotta get going."

Everyone was a mess of nerves. This was the worst it's been for most of them, having only heard stories of the big battles and only rumors of the undead emperors vanquished a few years ago.

The Demeter cabin sat down hurriedly, and Dionysus stood up to speak. His usual casual indifference was set on edge, probably upset by the raging sea that disrupted his game of pinochle or something.

"Rachel has... something to say, or something." He waved his hand dismissively, plopping back in his chair sipping his diet coke.

Some campers sat Rachel on her stool, and then came the prophecy for the quest.

Sorry it took so long
Iliala was in her happy place. She was growing plants around the cabin. She loved being a daughter of Demeter. She loved being able to control plants. It was awesome.

She'd only discovered she was a demi-god at age 10 and had been super excited about it since. None of the monster stuff really worried her. Her dad loved her, her mom was a friggin goddess, and she could control plants. Life was good.

She barely noticed the sky and ocean until she reached breakfast. Even then she hardly saw what the fuss was about. It was a stormy day, who cared. She only really figured out what was happening when Rachel came out. She'd never seen any prophecy before and was very excited. She couldn't wait to see what it was about.

Rachel walked into the room slowly. Earlier that day she had witnessed a new prophecy. It had been awhile since this had last happened and when it did, it wasn't great. It had nearly caused the end of the world. She hoped that this time it wouldn't be the case.

Rachel walked towards the dining area where the demigods were eating breakfast with her hands in her pockets. She didn't know how this new batch of kids would react to a prophecy or what they would do. Would they accept it? Or would they take it seriously like past demigods had? Well, she was about to find out.

Rachel took a deep breath as the party god, Dionysis said, "Listen up everyone. Rachel's got somethin' to say. Pay attention for once will you?" He grumbled the last part. Rachel smiled a weak smile and mentally noted not to confront him about anything for a day or two. Something must have put him in a bad mood.

Rachel took a deep breath and cleared her throat before saying, "Thank you all for your attention. As you may have already heard, I have had a prophecy for the first time since the near downfall of the world." Rachel paused not only for affect, but to also gauge the demigods' reactions. Those reactions would show her how to proceed.

"Since I have had a prophecy, it is tradition to recite it to the demigods before three are chosen to complete the quest for the god that requires the aid. In this case, if you haven't already noticed, it's Poseidon. He has lost something valuable and it is your job to decipher the prophecy and bring whatever he has lost back before he loses control."

Rachel took another pause before continuing again, "Now I shall recite the prophecy which you must memorize and take to heart for it will aid you in your journey to expose the thief and retrieve the stolen object."

The prophecy:

"You shall go east, and face the crossroads
You shall find what was stolen, and return it to the owner
You will be betrayed by someone you trust
And you shall face the rath that burns"

Someone said something. "Man, I feel bad for whoever has to go on that quest." She suddenly realized it was her. She didn't take it back though. That sounded intense. Another sound. "Um... does anyone have any idea what this is all about?" Her again. She looked around wondering if anyone would answer.

Suddenly she began to realize why kids had been acting differently lately. They'd all been smart enough to notice something was up. She appeared to be the only person who was too naive to understand what was going on. She looked over at her cabin mate Graci. Even she, another kid Iliala's age seemed to have known something was up. She sighed. She really was an idiot.

Graci didn't know what to feel when the prophecy came, just that it was unbearably shocking. So shocking, in fact, that there was silence for whole minutes. That was, until, the murmurs and questions came as they did every time a prophecy was issued.

"Okay, am I just a little slow, or does anybody know who this is about?"

She knew she wasn't gonna get an answer right away, everyone had too many questions.
