Boys don't even think about it!
Lark took a step back to inspect the unused classroom. Not... too bad. She had hoped to get here sooner than Maggie and start setting up for their planned night. They had talked about it for days leading up to the ball, having heard some students were worrying over their dresses.. or simply may not have one, makeup trouble or just plain worried and wanting to vent some energy beforehand. Lark was absolutely under all of those categories just about. Her Gran had thankfully sent along a dress and outfit which she hadn't even looked at yet but had still unopened sitting on one of the tables off to the side of the room, the large golden ribbon keeping it shut almost screaming at her to rip into it and peek at the contents straight away.
Lark's gaze trailed along the room taking mental notes of everything. Table with various snacks and candies, drinks.. Check. Desks pushed together with a couple mirrors she managed to commandeer for the makeup part of the night. Check! Some notebooks and writing utensils which she had tried to pick the brains of fellow students who knew Muggle sleepover games they could play.. some involving names of crushes and well.. other things. Triple Check! A large area with blankets and mattresses, thanks to some errands and convincing on Lark's part with the house elves to use some spares. She owed them a couple more favors but it would be well worth it. Another spare desk setup for anyone to work on or put their things. Lights hanging like Maggie had suggested, strands of them from the center of the ceiling out towards the edges of the room. Lark had thought of floating candles but decided against it after her and Maggie had realized fire may not be the best option around all the fancy clothes and sugared up youth. Some of the fairy-lights that had been used for the movie night were also around the room. This place certainly had the best space for holding a gathering, hopefully Maggie would be here soon. Lark wasn't sure what more she could do. Parties seemed to be Maggie's thing and those were some pretty big footsteps for Lark to even consider walking in, although she did look up to the girl a great deal.
Fiddling with her hands and straightening the covers on the desks... re-straightening and checking to make sure it was straight once more, Lark felt a nervous lump swell in her throat. The invitations had been rather last minute and thrown together hand drawn on parchment.. Not her best work that's for sure. She just hoped they got to everyone without any problems. There had been a good number of owls sent out and of course just handing them out and leaving some in the girl's bathroom. Unsure of how many would take up the offer on sleeping over in the room, Lark counted the mattresses hoping they would be enough. Even if some had to share or nest in some blankets it would be fun! Still.. Right? Oh gosh.. Lark fidgeted again, pulling at the hem of her pink pajama bottoms.
Well, everything seemed to be in order anyway! A spot for people to just chat, swap makeup tips, she had pulled out two different coat wracks from a closet in another room assuming they had been used for costumes hoping people could hang things on there if need be and even a partition if anyone did end up wanting to try on their outfit or swap dresses. Not that she had much but Lark had brought what she could for hair accessories and jewelry, bows, bracelets that sort of thing. Anything she thought might be helpful to others. Taking a seat in one of the old classroom chairs, Lark waited for Maggie to get there to give her seal of approval and add any finishing touches before the others arrived.

where Lark Flaer organizes a girl's night the night before the dance, where they're all able to show off their dresses, talk about the dance, and, most importantly, have fun.Maggie felt like a proud mother when Lark introduced the idea of a party to her- and she felt even better when Lark asked for her to help her out. She and the blue-haired Ravenclaw had become fast friends, and she was happy to help with whatever she could.
It was the night before the ball, October 30th. Coincidentally, it was also the night before Halloween, but it seemed that everyone, including Maggie, was blowing off the holiday for the Masquerade Ball. Maggie wasn't complaining, though- not in the slightest. While she loved the holiday, the Masquerade Ball was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and the arrival of the Illvermorny students had only made it more special and hard to miss.
When she reached the classroom, she once again felt a surge of pride in her chest. The whole room had a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that immediately made Maggie feel comfortable. The warm lighting of the room, the snacks laid out on tables, and a cozy bed of mattresses with blankets on them reminded Maggie of those classic girly sleepovers she used to have with her Muggle friends when she was little.
"Holy shit, Lark! It looks like I've got some competition." she exclaimed, wrapping her friend in a quick hug. "Cute pajamas, too." she added, nodding to her friend's button up pink shirt with hearts on it.
Maggie herself wore a junky t-shirt with athletic shorts, her hair tumbling down her back in untamed waves. She had on high, white socks that reached her mid-calf, along with some UGG slippers. She had a tote bag over her shoulder, which had her outfit for the ball stuffed into it. Noticing how nervous her friend seemed, Maggie shot her an amused smile.
"Don't worry, Lark. This place looks amazing, they'll love it." she reassured, moving over towards the snack table and popping a chip into her mouth.

Serena nervously walked towards the classroom with her dress bundled up under her right arm, and her blanket wrapped up beneath her left. She recalled seeing the invitation when she was wondering around like she normally did. "Huh...girls sleep over party..thing? Dear God its been so long since I've gone to one of those. Maybe I should, but what if it doesn't end well. What if I'm way too awkward..." She remembered thinking to herself, but it didn't matter now, she was already there and ready to go in.
Serena slowly walked in, self consciously looking down at her completely black pajamas, and for once she felt scared about what people would think about them. When she was younger all she really wanted was plain clothes, but now, knowing that most of the kids would probably have really colorful things, made her very nervous. She looked back up and saw the tables with different things all over them, ranging from snacks, to make up, to writing stuff. "Blah, make up, I really never liked that stuff, I hope no one forces me to wear any." She then smiled at the two girls standing there, nervously asking, "I um...this is the sleep over, dress swap..thing, right?" Despite her nervousness she still maintained the sweetness in her voice, clearly not wanting to seem completely lost.

Letting out a long breath of relief, Lark smiled at Maggie. She stood and hopped over to her friend feeling giddy all over again. "No way! Plus, I learned from the best! Oh great party planning master." Lark feigned a bow and laughed. She was extremely appreciative of Maggie giving her the time of day. Honestly, she hadn't been sure she would make friends with anyone outside of their first year group.
"Thanks!" Lark blushed a bit not used to compliments, especially about her sleepwear. Following behind Maggie, Lark exhaled once more. Fewf. If Maggie approved then everything was in order.
"I just can't wait until-" Lark's voice trailed off as their first guest arrived. Excitement taking hold Lark bound over to the girl almost stumbling on the blankets as she made her way over. "Oh! Hi there! I'm so glad ye made it!" Waving a hand at her side as if to present the room to the girl, Lark nodded. "You're at the right place!" A smile splitting the Lark's face she couldn't help but catch the girl's blue eyes. So pretty!
"You brought a dress too! Awesome!" Lark sprung back over towards Maggie and the snacks. "Yer welcome to anythin'. I wasn't sure what tae get honest.. I mean I dinn't even know who would come. If anyone.. but we 'ave tons of stuff, oh an' spots tae sit.. makeup stuff.. some other things oo'r there-" She gestured to the small pile of accessories she brought. Her Irish accent kicking in full throttle now and words almost tumbling out of her mouth. Realizing she was almost out of breath and heart racing, Lark felt a hot wave rush over her cheeks in embarrassment. "Ss..sorry! Heh.." Running a hand through her silvery blue locks she quickly tied it up into a messy half ponytail half bun. "Just excited."
Well there it was. She would surely be looked at by the pair of girls as a weirdo. Accost for sure. Goodness.

Excitement was one way to put Millie's feelings. She was thrilled to go to a masquerade ball, and even more excited to wear those really, really pretty masks! While she didn't really know what she was going to wear, or how to do her hair, she was sure one of the Gryffindor girls in her year could help out.
Just as she was going to give out her last bit of nerves, because these parties never went well, Maggie had invited her to a sleepover that another girl was hosting. She enjoyed going to the parties, even if she didn't stay for long, so she leapt at the opportunity to gossip with the other girls and see how they were all doing. That being said, she definitely wanted some advice on what to do at the ball. Maybe Lallie would be going...
The sleepover was being held in the classroom on the second floor, which would take Millie a few minutes to get to, if she was heading down from the Gryffindor Tower. She packed her bag with an empty book, a few pens, and her dress for tomorrow, and headed out in her pajamas.
Once she finished her walk to the second floor, Millie peered into the room, to see Maggie, and two other girls. She faintly recognized the blue-haired one as a girl named Lark, but she didn't know the last girl. She walked into the room, and pulled her backpack off of her back, and smiled to everyone.
"Hey!" She called, skipping up to them. "I'm Millie," She introduced herself to the two who probably didn't know her. "Hi, Maggie." As she smiled, she subconsciously tilted her head, and under the depths of her black hair, shades of purple could be seen in the light. But Millie didn't pay any attention, and she kept her big smile.

Elzabeth was excited about the upcoming party and even more excited about this evening's sleepover. She had her dress safely tossed over her shoulder, making sure not to mess it up since she had a history with doing that for expensive things.
Another bag though rested at her side, this one she just stuffed with blankets and other cool things she had thought would come in handy tonight. Excitement coursed through her just thinking about it, she had never been to a dance before much less such a fancy one and she felt lucky she had friends who wanted to so many fun things leading up to it.
As soon as she entered the room, a smile spread across her face. Everything looked so put together, it reminded her of the movie night maggie had hosted some time back.
She looked around for a moment, noticing she was one of the first few here. "This place looks amazing, I could never pull any of this together." Elzabeth took one last look around before turning to the girls.
"You've really outdone your selves." She joked, shifting the weight of her bag around on her shoulder.
"Where can I put my things, this dress is heavier than it looks." In fact, her dress was so heavy the hanger was starting to cut off circulation to her fingers.

Dress Swap ! Girl's Night
Interacting with @Lark FlaerA party.. Aphrodite had been invited to a party! Well, half invited.. it was open to all girls to attened, though it still left her with a feeling of joy as she made her way to the designated classroom.
Before leaving her pleasant dorm room though, she glanced into the mirror to see her reflection. Her hair was tied into pigtails as it all ways is. She was wearing a smidge of winged eyeliner, though not too dramatic. Her pajamas, a light pastel pink that compimented her skin tone nicely, and also kept the lolita aesthetic she always had in place as well.
With a smile, she skipped to the Classroom, her dress in hand and bag over her shoulder. She wondered who all else would be there, perhaps someone she knew? If not, there was always room for new friends. In her ears, headphones could be found, playing a sweet ballad with a calming rhythm. Although there weren't any words, she made up her own, singing them as she walked down the narrow hallways.
As she pushed open the door of the listed classroom, she peeked her head in slowly, hoping to see a bunch of girls chatting away.
And that's exactly what she got, about under a dozen of beautiful girls talking to one another happily. Feeling a bit intimidated, Aphrodite placed her dress on a rack in the classroom, making her way over to a group of girls. Maggie Parker and Lark Flaer their names were. They were the girls hosting the party, so she thought.
As she glided over to them, she waved warmly. "This is awesome! I really like what you did with the place." She told Lark, gesturing to the scenery of the classroom.

MENTIONS:"No way! Plus, I learned from the best! Oh great party planning master." Maggie laughed, rolling her eyes good-naturedly at her friend’s response. She snorted when Lark gave a mock bow, grinning at her antics.
“Thanks,” she added, to which Maggie just grinned again. "I just can't wait until-"
Before Lark could finish, the blue-haired girl’s first guest arrived. She was a small, slight girl, who had long brown hair and wide blue eyes. Her face was pale and slightly pointed, giving her a young appearance.
"I um...this is the sleep over, dress swap..thing, right?" She asked, her voice quiet and unsure. Maggie flashed her a reassuring smile, her grin only growing when Lark replied excitedly.
"Oh! Hi there! I'm so glad ye made it!" she greeted, waving her hand dramatically and almost hitting Maggie in the face. She jokingly glared at her friend, who was too busy greeting the girl to notice. "You're at the right place!”
“What’s your name? I love the bangs, by the way.” Maggie asked, waving the girl over. She motioned to her own bangs, laughing a little as she was sure that she looked ridiculous as she did so.
"You brought a dress too! Awesome!" Lark commented, causing Maggie to raise her arm and shake the bag her dress was in a little. "Yer welcome to anythin'. I wasn't sure what tae get honest.. I mean I dinn't even know who would come. If anyone.. but we 'ave tons of stuff, oh an' spots tae sit.. makeup stuff.. some other things oo'r there-"
“Well, I definitely approve of your snack choice.” Maggie commented, her voice mockingly posh as she popped a chip into her mouth. She followed the girl’s hand to the plethora of accessories and makeup set up around the room, causing a small grin to tug on the corners of her lips.
"Ss..sorry! Heh.." Lark apologized, slightly breathless as she realized that she was rambling a little. "Just excited."
“Don’t blame you,” Maggie reassured, “this is going to be awesome.”
Suddenly, Millie entered the room, bubbly as ever. Maggie beamed at her friend, who she hadn't seen in awhile. She wore a white, flowy shirt with a cute panda on it, along with black and white striped shorts.
"Hey!" she called, skipping up to the group of three. "I'm Millie," she greeted, directing her question towards Lark and the other girl. "Hi Maggie!"
Maggie wrapped her friend in a quick hug, pulling back grinning. Millie tilted her head, and a deep purple color gleamed in her dark locks. Maggie raised her brows: did Millie dye her hair? Before she could ask, though, another familiar face entered the room. Elzabeth Gillian, who Maggie had met under rather unpleasant circumstances, entered, a dress flung over her shoulder.
"This place looks amazing, I could never pull any of this together." Elzabeth commented, looking around the room. "You've really outdone your selves."
"Thanks, but it was all Lark," Maggie corrected, swinging an arm around her friend. "a true prodigy." she joked, her voice sarcastically serious.
"Where can I put my things, this dress is heavier than it looks." Elzabeth asked, causing Maggie to think of her own dress balled up in her bag. Her gaze travelled over to the clothing rack in the corner, and Maggie grabbed her wand from her bag.
"I've got it," she offered, picking up her own bag and situating it comfortably on her shoulder. "Wingardium Leviosa."
Elzabeth's dress floated off her shoulder, and Maggie guided it over to the clothing rack, following and hanging on it. She loved magic. She hung up her own dress, which was much easier, since it was light and silky.
"This is awesome! I really like what you did with the place." Maggie heard, and she turned her head to see another girl. Her hair was half-black, half-blonde, and cascaded past her shoulders, reaching her belly button.
"So," Maggie began, "who's down for a good ol' game of hotseat?" a mischievous glint appeared in her blue eyes as she made her way back over to the group of assembled girls. She'd played this game with her cabin over the summer, and it'd been more than fun. It was perfect for this occasion, too- what was a sleepover without spilling secrets?
Plus, these games usually had positive results. After all, when she'd played over the summer, she'd gotten Charlotte to admit her feelings for Carson, and voila. Now all of Hogwarts was able to watch with a mixture of envy and happiness as the couple held hands in the hallways. Mentioning nearly everyone
RPing as Catriona Staverly | text color #8f7faeCatriona took a deep breath before walking into the classroom. Lark had invited her to this party for some reason; Catriona couldn't fathom why anyone would want her at a party, but she wasn't going to turn down an offer from a friend. Plus, she liked meeting new people, even if it scared her sometimes. She never would have met a lot of her good friends if she hadn't put herself out there and tried and she was proud of herself for doing so. That didn't mean she wasn't still scared though.
She was relieved to see Lark and Elzabeth already in the room along with several others. Catriona gave them all a quick wave before setting her dress on the rack in the corner of the room. "Hi. I'm Catriona, nice to meet all of you." She moved back across the room to where Lark was sitting. "What are we doing?" she said, directing her question at one of the girls who looked familiar. Maggie, she thought her name was. She'd heard mentions of some muggle game through the door before she came in, but she wasn't really familiar with any. "If we play any games, I'm afraid you'll have to explain the rules to me. I haven't really played many before." She hadn't been to many parties either, but no one here needed to know that.Clothes

Dress Swap ! Girl's Night
Ruthie did not want to go to this thing. On the way there, she'd nearly doubled back twice, but her dress was too long for her to carry it for any length of time that involved going back and forth like that. So she settled when she didn't want to. Usually independent and self-assured, it wasn't like her. This whole thing wasn't like her--making a big deal, like it was important. And to make matters worse, she bad that she was acting this way.
Reluctantly, she stood at the corner of the door opening into the classroom. She stood, breathed in, and looked around. It looked lovely, not unlike Maggie's start of term party. And there were people, who seemed happy and who'd brought dresses. The dresses, too, were likely beautiful. Breathing steadily, she walked in and hung her garment bag along with the others. "Hiya," she said as she approached, trying to form a smile. Even if the idea of dresses and make-up were not things Ruthie had a remote interest in, she did need friends. The girls looked kind and friendly. How bad could this be?
"A game?" she said. Her ears pricked up at the sound of something that vaguely resembled a sport. The girly theme aside, any kind of a game was something she would be able to sink her teeth into. She came closer to the group. "What kind of game?" she asked, "I warn you, I might be competitive." The word 'might' was an understatement. When it came to Quidditch, she was the most passionate, the most competitive. Even dodgeball, though it had led to her demise, she had taken seriously. She would take this seriously too and maybe, just maybe, that would allow for some level of connection with these girls.
