Closed Birthday Howler PV Emalyn Waverly

When Emmy asked, "Like what tradition?" Ellie's brain got right to work. Maybe they could do a thing where once a year one of them takes each other on a vacation. Like Ellie could take Emmy on a vacation this year someplace! Or they could do a game night in the common room! Ellie's mind was going a mile a minute with ideas but Emalyn beat her to saying one.

"What if we send birthday howlers to everyone on there birthdays?" Emmy said.

Ellie liked this idea! The more she thought of it the better it was but there was one very tiny problem, "I love the idea but, sorry if this is mean, " Ellie said not wanting to offend her awesome, fun new friend, "Birthday howlers are a family tradition and they have been for awhile so I'm not quite sure I would like to share that with everyone yet. But we can do something similar! Sorry!"

Ellie held her breath hoping she didn't offend Emmy. It was a great idea, really it was! But Ellie wasn't sure she was ready for her family's ling tradition to be out there.

"You know, we can send prank howlers to others on a random day," Ellie said.

Ellie looked up at Emmy hoping that Emmy didn't take what she had said to offense.

"Birthday howlers are a family tradition, and they have been for a while, so I'm not quite sure I would like to share that with everyone yet. But we can do something similar! Sorry!" Ellie explained apologetically, which Emmy understood.

"Oh! Yeah, I get it," Emmy replied.

Well, so much for screwing things up. Emmy shifted in her seat uncomfortable again, her face flushed, but quickly rearranged her facial expression, unwanting to come off as a negative person. Emmy, it's a FAMILY tradition for a reason. she inwardly scolded herself, before plastering a smile across her face.

Ellie suggested that they could send prank howlers to people on random days. Emmy smiled at this idea, trying to imagine them giggling behind the table as the howler's screams rang through the air.

"That's a great idea! Should we surprise them or should we let them sign up for it so they know it's coming?" Emmy asked.

After all, she knew some people would despise their morning ruined by a Howler, while some chill people would laugh it off. It needed to be a fun experience, even though it would be funny to see someone get angry over receiving a Howler. Emmy smiled, happy with her new friend.

"Oh yeah, I get it" Emmy said. Emmy sounded sincere but Ellie could tell she was uncomfortable, again.

Ellie suggested her idea of prank howlers, hoping this would make Emmy less uncomfortable."That's a great idea! Should we surprise them or should we let them sign up for it so they know it's coming?" Emmy said this, sounding much happier. Ellie smiled happy that her friends thought that and also smiling that her friend didn't think she was a jerk for telling her she didn't want to share birthday howlers with the world.

Ellie was thinking of doing the prank on people. Who could they do it on?

"Also sorry to ruin things but I um I um" Ellie said to her, her face turning bright red, "Umm, so I don't like getting in trouble so would it be ok if like we send it to the person, they see it get get scared and it tells like a complement or something just not something that could get us in trouble!"

Ellie didn't want to sound like a goody-two-shoes but she hated getting in trouble. She didn't like the idea of detention so maybe they could make something that would make the professors laugh too.

"Sorry!" Ellie said again, hoping Emalyn didn't think her as a good two shoes or someone would was going to shoot down any idea that was thrown on to the table.

"Oh!" Emmy made a noise with her mouth that she couldn't quite place, "Oh, oh yeah that's alright."

Personally, Emmy loved things that had a small chance of her getting into some form of trouble. The idea that they could get caught made the activity funner, but she couldn't do something that made her new friend uncomfortable.

"Sorry!" Ellie apologized again, causing Emmy to feel guilty for making Ellie apologize.

"Oh, it's okay!" Emmy exclaimed, and then blushed, her cheeks heating in a light pink, trying to recall how many times she had said "oh" in this conversation.

Emmy felt the awkwardness in the air rise, and by instinct, she looked away, distracting herself from embarrassing herself anymore. Drumming her fingers on the wooden table, she helped herself to a light glass of milk, the cold liquid sloshing down her throat. She politely wiped her lips with a soft napkin, feeling more refreshed than she had felt before. Emmy brandished the milk to Ellie, asking if she wanted some.

"Wait, where will you even get these Howlers?" Emmy asked Ellie, clearing her throat.

Emmy's magic was probably too underdeveloped to somehow enchant a letter, maybe they had to purchase it somewhere instead of creating it themselves. They might not even have enough to afford just two. She glanced down at the table, and noticed the glass of milk had already disappeared.

"Wait, where will you even get these Howlers?" Emmy asked.

Oh oops. Ellie hadn't thought of that. Where could they get them?

"Well I can send my mom some money and she can buy them for us I guess," Ellie said, not wanting to make her mom pay for it. Who could they send it to was the real question.

"I love how this turns me from being embarrassed due to the birthday celebration Howler to us planning a prank howler!" Ellie said, "Also since I am such a goody two shoes, Can they say like compliments or like a insperational quote? Of course it could start out like HOW DARE YOU have really pretty hair! Just to like, you know, get them really scared and then be like, you look nice! I don't know, that sounds cheesy but ahh."

Ellie laughed than blushed, realizing how much she had just said. OMG, why do I talk so much! But seriously, she didn't want detention! She wanted to keep her record clean so what is better than to get them all scared and them just say like oh you know, you look nice. And like the teachers and headmaster would be there and like... Detention? No thank you! So they would not get in as much trouble if they said something nice. Right?
