Walking around the school was tough, getting lost was easy and of course you got stuck on the staircases. So during lunch, Ginny got up and walked out of the great hall and tried to write down, while watching, when the staircases moved. But of course, she got lost again. Outside, she wandered, until she found the boathouse. Ginny loved water and the creatures and monsters underneath the water. So she went there and sat on the edge and peered into the deep, black and murky water, wondering what creatures could be under her right at this second. Squids, sharks, maybe even monsters, no one will ever know because they are too scared to look. She wasn’t scared, Ginny would probably jump down right now if she could. Getting up so quickly she almost fell in, Ginny walked around the boathouse, looking down at the boats she first came on. Now she was thinking of the bright lights on each boat in the pitch black water and sky other than the stars. Daydreaming of the perfect day for fishing and boating, she heard a rustle and looked behind her. A cat, siamese to be exact, was wading around in the shallow water. Shuffling over to the cat, she sat down on the dock reaching down to pat the cat. But another rustling noise that wasn’t the cat came up again.

Olivia felt down and went out as usual. Today she decided to go to the boathouse, one of her favorite places because almost no one used to be there. But when she got there she heard movement. Not the usual one from an animal or from the water but from someone. She sneaked to a bush and peeked out over the dock. There, to Olivia's surprise, sat a girl, from Gryffindor, about her age. Olivia felt her heart start to beat a little faster. She moved a little closer, still in the shelter of the bush. But then Olivia happened to break a branch, the girl on the dock turned towards her. Oh, how beautiful she is. Olivia's body acted as if of its own accord. She stood up and walked over to the girl with a slightly embarrassed smile. "Hi," Olivia said and held up a hand in a wave. "I didn't mean to, erm... spy," she added quickly and scratched her neck nervously. There was silence for a while. Finally, Olivia broke the silence and asked, “Can I sit down?” Then Olivia waited. Automatically Olivia ran a hand through her hair. She looked out over the water and thought she saw a tentacle, probably the giant squid. “The sea is nice today,” Olivia said, shifting her weight from one foot to the other.

“Oh, hi,” she said as the girl appeared out of a bush.”I’m Ginny and yes you can sit down,” Ginny said as she sat down next to her. Ginny picked up the cat and snuggled her tightly still looking out at the ocean. Watching the giant squid go by, she asked excitedly,”Did you see that!” She loved squid, the kind you eat more than look at. But still she loved them, big googly eyes and long tentacles. She looked at the girl through the corner of her eye and saw her looking back, she blushed and quickly looked down at the cat, patting her as well. Groaning at the fact she had to get to class soon, “Well I guess I will see you another time. Maybe back here again.”She explained hurriedly packing her things and putting the cat down,”I didn’t catch your name, what is it”, she asked, breaking the silence, other than the noise she was making. Taking one last look at the girl and the ocean, she sat and took a breather, the air smelled salty like the ocean and like cats. Beautiful she thought, almost upset because she went to the beach all the time at home.
