Decorating with Farts and Claws Detention

Detention

Who:Kyle De Rook, Oliver Hart, Marla Quinlan
Why: Fighting in the Small Hall
Punishments are dependent on the prefect/professor giving the punishment. Regardless, all detentions have these things in common:

1. Thread is RPG (200 word posts)
2. Each of you have to post twice
3. Posts is consecutive: player does not have to wait for a reply from prefect/professor. Nico will dismiss them once each of you posted twice.
4. Offending student cannot make new RP threads until detention is complete. Threads that are created during detention are locked until detention is complete.

Please note that the player is not barred from continuing present threads, joining other RPs, or creating OOC threads.
Here they were. Nico and the House elves walked in carrying all kinds of decorations. The Ball that would welcome the Ilvermorny students had to look perfect! The House elves already started to roll out carpets and dust off the walls. Ofcourse, they wouldn't do all the work.

Surprisingly, Caradoc Browne, Head of Hufflepuff House reached out for her to do this job. Nico had no problem with it except she... felt rather uncomfortable with... detentions.

Last year she got in some sort of conflict with a certain Hufflepuff. He almost gave her a taste of her own medicine. Thankfully a stunning Gryffindor Prince saved her from a certain doom.

Taking in a deep breath, the small Dhampir rested her hands on her hips looking at the empty walls that would soon no longer be naked. She was rather curious how these guys would end up decorating. They'd better do it well...

As they would enter Nico would meet them with a warm smile. 'Welcome, guys. I'm Nico and I'll be looking out for you guys at this detention. Your job won't be scooping poop, however, you'll have to put your decorative skills to the test.' Nico looked over her shoulder at the tables in the corner where all the different decorations were laid out. 'Over there, you'll find everything you need. Good luck and I'll be back later. I'm looking forward to how things will look like.'

Nico gazed at them with her cold ice eyes. Her face had become cold and stern before she walked out.

Kyle walked into the ballroom, his boots clomping on the tile and echoing loudly as the room was quite large and very empty. His hands rested in his leather jacket as he yawned and looked around the room idly. He couldn't help but realize that Quin wasn't here and he frowned. He had hoped that his partner in crime from the previous year would be the issuing the detention. He imagined them having a row, maybe talking some smack. He would tease her for taking his leather jacket over the summer and they would move on. Instead there was some slytherin girl here. He was pretty annoyed that not only had his friend busted up, but she wasnt even there for the detention.

He lazilly rolled his neck and looked over at the different decorations scattered around and he half listened to the prefect telling him that he would have to decorate the place alongside the fat kid who crapped his pants. Christ what a way to spend an evening. He did however note, that she did not say he needed to decorate well. Or do a good job, or make it look nice. She wanted creativity? yeah. he could do that.

The first thing kyle did was walk over to a box of construction paper and he began to grab multiple different colors and just ball them up tightly and casually toss them about randomly around the room. Eventually he grew bored with this and grabbed a number of bows. Kyle took the bows and some garland and headed over towards the tables. He would tear into the table cloths and tuck the string of garland through and tie it securely with a knot from the bow. Once it was all tied Kyle took his wand from his back pocket, and since he wasnt told he CANT use magic, he simply said "Repairo" and the torn table cloth mended around the addition making it held on even tighter. He hummed to himself a jaunty tune as Kyle meandered from table to table doing the exact same thing until he ran out of bows, but he did have a good dozen tables tied together in an, admittedly, decorative way.

Once done with the tables Kyle walked over to to the decorations again Kyle noticed a couple buckets of paint. With a devious grin he pried the lids off and walked over to a wall with a man in a rather douchey looking ascot. "Sorry mate" he said before Kyle threw Red, yellow, and purple is violently sloppy splashes against the wall, getting some on the painting. Kyle was a fan of Jackson Pollock.

Kyle took a step back and took in he chaos before taking his finger and dipping it some paint before signing it at the bottom right just next to the mess. Every bit of art needed a signiture. Kyle moved back to the middle of the room, and grinned.

Nico rushed back into the room. After an owl crashed into her in the corridors, Nico saw her mistake. Professor Browne saw there was an error and two of the students actually didn't have to be there.

Once Nico got back, it was already chaos. Paint was splattered anywhere, crumbled up paper. Not at all what she had hoped for. Come on... This was supposed to be fun. She sighed internally and lightly facepalmed at the thought she forgot to take their wands.

Either way, this artistic mess, as much as she kind of liked how he took the liberty to go full out, this had to be changed. But.. that would be up to Marla. She'd have to clean this up and decorate the room decently. Honestly, this put her in a rather ... bad mood.

Taking in a deep breath, Nico eyed at the Gryffindor boy who couldn't hide the fact that he caused this. His hands were drenched with paint. 'Well... I see you already had a great time.' Folding her arms she sighed. 'Guess you won't have to stay here any longer, Kyle. Same goes for you, Oliver. There was an issue with ... paperwork. You guys are free to go.' Nico glared at the paint as she covered her eyes slightly with her hand. After watching paint litteraly dry, the little dhampir looked up at Kyle, her ice blue eyes couldn't shake off the annoyance she felt. 'Have a good day.' There was no smile. Just ... an emotionless look.

As she would watch them leave, Nico stared intently at the dripping paint. A small red dot lit up in her eyes... Angry.
OOC note: Due to an error that we... overlooked, Oliver and Kyle no longer have to attend this detention. They're dismissed.

[quote]This sucked. There was no other way to put it. First day as a prefect, and Miss Quinlan was already scoring herself detention. What was next? Losing her privileges as a prefect? Suspension? Expulsion? Pah, what did it matter? At this point, she wasn't afraid to take what was coming to her, because Hogwarts was sucking big time right now.

Making her way into the ballroom, a frown made its way on her face when there was no sign of Kyle. Thankfully there wasn't that gross fat kid in there, if he happened to fart, even in such a vast space like the ballroom, she might pass out. In the middle of the ballroom was a familiar-looking Slytherin, obviously a fellow prefect. Looking closer, it was a girl she never interacted with personally, though being in her grade and a prefect, she recognized the student as Nico Shmayne.

After the girl left, a groan escaped Marla's lips as she bore at the mess before her. Scooping poop would be a blessing compared to this stuff. Oh, how she wished that she could go back to the good ole' days when Professor MacTavish simply made her paint the walls. God, did she take it for granted... But there was nothing that she could do about the detention now, so she got to work.

[quote]The fiery Gryffindor started with the easy stuff, picking up the multi-colored crumpled pieces of paper. She was fond of Kyle, but god did she hate him right now for making this mess. Of course, the fat smelly boy was there too, but nobody but Kyle would really do anything this devious. Or, maybe she was biased because she was friends with him. But she regretted not getting here earlier to smack the damn boy in the face with a paint can.

Finally done with those... Stupid papers, she moved onto her next obstacle of her own personal hell, the paint on the wall. Yes, it was messy. No, it would not be hard to clean up. In a normal situation when she wasn't feeling completely horrible, maybe Marla would go through the effort to scrub up the whole mess of gross colors, but no. Today was awful. And if she had to put effort into something today, it would be to climb up the Gryffindor tower and fling herself off of it. So, she whipped out her wand, looking around for any other people in the ballroom, and whispered the incantation to Scourgify on the paint. What Nico didn't know wouldn't hurt her, right?

The bubbles that protruded from her wand consumed the paint for a few seconds before dissolving into nothing, leaving the wall so shiny that Marla could almost see her reflection in it. She was even tempted to touch it, but putting fingerprints on such a beautifully cleaned object would tear away at her soul just a tiny bit. So, to move onto the last object, but... Certainly not least, the girl moved towards a bunchy looking table cloth, to which the color drained out of her face.

All that she could think was what in the world was this atrocious? No, no, no. It looked... Diseased. Why, cruel world? But the sooner she got this done, the sooner she could escape this prison of a room. No spell that she knew would help her with this, so the only supplies she had was her (not so) trusty and quite lanky arms. Reluctantly placing her hands on the garland in the middle of the messy tablecloth, she tugged aggressively, so hard that the table jerked towards her, but it didn't even budge an inch.

Could this even be classified as a table cloth? No, most definitely not. The only word that could ever describe anything as completely horrifying as this... Was a monstrosity. Yes, she hated this stupid monstrosity with all of her heart, but she needed to do something about it! Suddenly, an idea popped in her head to finally free this poor table from its bonds of evil garland.

Getting on the floor and laying on her back, she slid under the table and put her feet on top of the table, grasping onto the garland enlaced into the table cloth from the bottom of the surface. While pushing up with her feet and down on the garland, it eventually gave in and broke ties. "Finally!" She said out loud while in the midst of a sigh. Hopping up from under the table, she yanked out the garland and tossed it to the side. "Reparo," She cast the repairing spell on the table cloth and watched it reweave itself into a brand new, non-monstrosity. Much better.

Now came the fun part. It was time to spice the ballroom up. Taking a few nice candles from the mounds of decorations, she placed them gently onto the middle of the tables. There was no use lighting them up now, unless the house-elves wanted a campfire for the night. Once there were people that needed to be impressed, there would be nifty wizards at the ready with their incendio spells.

In the meantime, there was more decorating that needed to be done. She took garlands and draped them from the highest parts of the walls that she could reach (which, not surprisingly, wasn't that tall), and took out some paint from the pile of decorations. This time, it wouldn't be used in an unconventional and gross mess on the wall, it would be a presentable design on the table cloths. She made each design unique with flowers, and flamboyant colors. Well... They came out rather ugly, but beauty was in the eye of the beholder! And they looked not too shabby to her.

Surprisingly, the decorating part of detention wasn't too boring, but she had enough of working today, and needed to get out and take a long, long, long break. It seemed that the rest of the job of beautifying the ballroom would be left to the elves, because Marla would not be seen dead doing any more work for the day. Instead, she plopped down on the floor, her back supported by the freshly cleaned wall, waiting for Nico to arrive once more so she could see the sweet light of day once more.

Arriving back, Nico was expecting to see an even worse scene. Her eyes still had the same glare from before. But her ice blue hues changed as soon as she saw the amazing improvements in the decorations.
The paint fiasco was no more. Instead everything looked super tidy and ready for a party.

Honestly, Nico was impressed. Her heart felt lighter and relieved. She was afraid this was going to be a situation she would've ended up fixing. But thank all the owls in the Owlery that the room looked dance ready.

'Well Marla... I have to say..' The dhampir walked over to the tables. Where did the dusty tablecloths go? Did she find the time to let them get washed?...

Oh... Right.

The wand.

Nico sighed slightly audible. Again, she forgot to ask Marlas wand. Kyle had proven her why it was a mistake to not take ones wand in detention. Silly Nico... Get with it... Learn.

Whatever, Marla did use her wand well. Honestly, those tablecloths needed a good wash and they look better than ever.

'Good job, Marla.' Nico flashed a bright smile at the Gryffindor. 'You've outdone yourself. I might have to add some small details here and there but you did great. If anyone asks, you can take credit for making it look good. You're free to go.'
