Thank you for that Elizabeth. I am 12 and I have never seen God move in my life, ever. I also have it harder, as I am a pastor´s kid. I find praying out loud hard and embarrassing. I will not read my bible. I think I cannot recognize god moving in even the smallest ways because being a pastor's kid, you often hear the stories of how God was very prominent in the lives of people. You never hear about God moving very subtly.

Soo... the audition went well. I felt like passing out for half of it, but sill did fine. I got placed inDawn Riley wrote: I have a prayer request. I'm auditioning for the school play tonight. Could you please pray for me and wish me luck?
an ensemble role. I get to act like a mermaid and a river. That is way cooler than the rest of the roles.

Regarding not seeing God move in your life, I think you're in good company. Most people don't experience anything, that's why we must have faith.
If reading the bible is an issue, I'd try something more entertaining. They have a condensed version of the bible with illustrations like a comic book, I highly recommend it. It's called the Action Bible lol.
I don't pray out loud myself. I don't like the sound of my voice. When I pray, I do it quietly and use it as a form of guided meditation. It's relaxing. I've prayed with strangers at the hospital and they said it was relaxing as well. So maybe just use prayer as a way to unplug from the world and think about what you're grateful for.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you need anything.

Congrats on your successful audition!
Regarding finding it difficult to see the move of God, it's OK, I feel you. It must be hard especially in times of troubles. I think just as @Jorah Moussa said, that's why it's important to have faith. ("Faith," I was taught, "means trusting and believing in God even when you don't see Him.") God works subtly in our everyday life, including in small things like a blooming flower or the song of a bird... it's just that we people sometimes don't see it.
And about praying, I think it's totally all right to pray quietly inside one's heart. Jesus Himself says that when we pray, we should do it in private that only The Father hears it (Matthew 6:6); I think it means we don't need to let others know that we pray, the most important point is that we pray with all of our hear, because God sees the heart and not the outer body.
Hope this give you some encouragement. < 3

Hey Dawn, I don’t know if this is helpful but I used to really struggle reading the Bible until I started reading it from the beginning from a Christological perspective. The thing is EVERY bit of it leads to Jesus and once you know that the whole thing absolutely comes alive. Since I’ve been studying the Bible at College I’ve found it to be exciting and beautiful and funny and so so worth reading (even Leviticus and Numbers). One thing that really helps me to get a better perspective is videos from “The Bible Project” and “The Lumo Project” is also amazing if you want the Gospels to come to life. Consider finding a study or something based around a thing called “Biblical Theology” it may sound sort of weird (like, isn’t that just what the Bible does?) but it helps to open up the whole thing and see the huge, beautiful United story that runs from Genesis through to Revelation. Maybe ask your Mum or Dad.
Sorry for the massive rant, but I often find it hard to see God move in my life but the Bible helps me to see God move in History and that’s such an exciting thing.

@James McMurtrie @Dawn Riley
I agree with James, the Bible Project is a great 100% free resource. It has a daily reading calendar to get through the bible in a year. Its very reasonable, not too much of a time constraint. Most importantly, they have amazing animated videos that summarize each portion of the Bible. They actually tell you on the calendar when to watch the videos so you can watch a topic as you're reading about it.

I just realized the other day that I may not ever be able to see y'all in real life, but I'll see you in Heaven. So that's nice.
