“I do believe they are considered creatures. Honestly, I haven’t really studied all that much about the categories, so I can’t say... Plus, never had classes on it, so I never felt the need to study.” Teiki laughed softly, knowing how unlikely it was that she would look into a subject, unless it was one she really enjoyed. She just knew they contained too many details, and that she would quickly get overloaded. Plus, she always wanted to explore their basement a little further.

“Oh, that’s a good way to start, huh? I was always confused about how the photos moved, if they were to enchant it later. But again, never really looked into it. Wow. I need to research a lot of things.” Teiki thought a little while, before turning her attention back on Yoshiya.

“No, I can understand what you’re saying. I do know however that the wizard it community in general is worried that Muggles will react to trying to harm wizards because of the unknown. At a time like this, though, I think all the no-maj would be fine with it.” Teiki shrugged, not entirely sure how bringing up both sides would really help the situation.

Teiki noticed Yoshiya’s glance down at her watch.

“Well, it’s been nice to talk. If you need to go, you may. Otherwise, we could continue this conversation?”

Yoshiya glanced up from her watch and stuttered, "N-no, I'm not going. I just needed to know the time. That's because... uh..."

Yoshiya blushed. "So... what do you like doing?" she asked. "As you can see, I like reading manga. I hope there's some type of wizarding or magic manga or comic or something, because I'd like to see them move. You said you watched television, so what do you watch?"

Yoshiya always wondered what wizards and witches did in their day to day life, ever since he had found out about the wizarding world, and since she had met that Hufflepuff girl on the train. Hang on, what was her name again? thought Yoshiya. She'd forgot her name. Perhaps it was because she hadn't talked to her in a while.

Teiki was a Hufflepuff, seeing as she had a yellow emblem on her robe. That must've meant that Yoshiya preferred Hufflepuffs, despite herself being a Slytherin. But, the Sorting Hat was never wrong, so she couldn't hang out with her in the common room, nor the Great Hall.

"So, do you think you should've been in a different house?" Yoshiya asked. "I don't know for myself, but they say the Sorting Hat is never wrong."

“Oh, I’m sorry! I just assumed..” She rambled on, letting a small awkward silence take place. Then, Yoshiya continued, saving them from too much silence (surprising in a library..)

“Um, I like exploring? That’s my main interest, but I have some few smaller ones. I, well, the most recent ones I’ve watched have been mainly French kids TV shows,” she blushed, “because of my sisters. But, I don’t know, I’d watch a lot of Disney when it was in English. Cooking shows or game shows, too. What about you?” Teiki smiled softly.

“No I don’t think I should’ve been in a different house. Yes, some houses could also work with me, but I feel like Hufflepuff is the best fit. What about you? I wouldn’t have thought you would be Slytherin if not for the robes. But it might help you in the future, so maybe it’ll help in the long run? I wouldn’t know.” Teiki rambled on, shrugging her shoulders.

“Do you know any other languages? As you might’ve guessed, I speak French and English. No other languages for me. And how was family life? Mine was more secluded in a Southern part of France.” Teiki smiled, hoping she hadn’t ruined the conversation with suddenly calling out what Yoshiya was doing and jumping to conclusions.

"I watch mostly anime," said Yoshiya. "That's Japanese animation. I've watched it for years, even before I moved to the UK. I was born in Osaka in Japan, but I moved to London when I was five."

Teiki had also asked if she knew any other languages. "Well, Japanese," replied Yoshiya. "and a little French."

"Do you play video games?" she asked. "I know that's even more of a Muggle thing but still, do wizards and witches play them?"

Getting further this conversation, Yoshiya realised how similar Muggles and wizards were—while wizards and witches had magic, Muggles had technology and some magic people used technology, but the whole International Statute of Secrecy thing and such meant that most didn't.

"Do you wanna do some studying?" questioned Yoshiya. "I have done my homework, but I think it's good to study and get a headstart on work." She pulled out The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 1 and flipped to the page on the Softening Charm. "So, Spongify."

Yoshiya blushed once again and buried her face in the book. I'm being so embarrassing, she thought. Sighing, she flipped through even more pages, even to charms that wouldn't be taught for ages, like the Unlocking and Mending Charms.

"Oh cool!" Teiki said, in response to anime. She had heard about it a few times, but had never really looked into it.

"Was it a large transition, or do you not really remember it?" Teiki had a few scattered memories of being 5, but not enough information to figure out what major things had happened during that time.

"I mean, I would play a few. But more online games that I didn't have to download... Because those were really easy to get to." Teiki smiled, her face slightly mischievous, or as mischievous as she could make it. Teiki wasn't one to break the rules often.

"I mean, it would probably be a good idea." Teiki noticed the other book that Yoshiya brought out. "I've never been one to be all that ahead, but with the amount of homework I'm getting, it would probably be a good idea." Teiki glanced back down at her book.

"I'm going to quickly return this," Teiki left quickly to the shelf it was on, carefully placing the book in its designated area. She returned, a little sorry that she had left the girl alone.

"Do you ever feel as though you're further behind then others? I mean, you seem to be doing fine, but I didn't know..." Teiki blushed, not entirely sure how to word the question better.

"I remember that my little brother, Satoshi, had been born five months before," uttered Yoshiya. "The house was too small for two children, and my mother knew that Japan wasn't the best place to raise us. My dad had recently got a new job in London, so we started to look for houses as soon as we could. Of course, we only saw pictures before the move happened."

Yoshiya blushed again. It was she had some sort of disease that made it so she'd talk a lot and then blush, or at least that's what she thought it was like. "I don't know how I have such a good memory of it," she said.

"Well, I would never say that," replied Yoshiya, after Teiki had asked her another question. "But I wouldn't say I'm far behind everyone else."

After more silence and book reading, Yoshiya broke the silence. "Um... Have you ever been to another country? And If so, have you met another wizard or witch? I just want to know." Yoshiya knew that if she was Japanese, there must've been magic people outside of Europe—Teiki had said she watched French TV shows, and that was 'because of her sisters'."

"Satoshi? That's a nice name. Yeah, my first few years are just photographs. Although, I had nothing as extreme as moving in my first few years." Teiki smiled softly.

Teiki noticed the blushing and smiled embarrassed. She seemed to feel similarly to Yoshiya. Always blushing, no real reason as to why except sudden embarrassment. At least someone else felt similarly to her.

"Well, I'm glad. It seems you do a lot of reading in your free time. Plus, you've got a unique perspective. It's nice to hear a perspective that is not my own. Sorry for my questions, it was rude of me. I'm just.. a little too curious." Teiki smiled softly, a small(er) blush forming on her cheeks.

A silence fell, in which Teiki decided to look around the library, noticing the wide variety of different colored spines. The ways in which they were placed on the shelves, slightly tilted and worn from the hands of many students and even possibly even professors.

"Well, I came here? I haven't traveled much, to my dismay. But I was happy. I doubt I could've moved such a long distance. As for others, there was my family. We were all English. Moved to France later on. My parents were never really sure how to get in touch with others, so we generally kept our magic to ourselves. Your curiosity is understandable. I'm curious about everything. Well, a lot of things. Not everything, of course." Teiki laughed softly, covering her mouth with her hand.

"Um, do you know what Satoshi means? I don't really know, but it sounds like an interesting name."

"I don't, actually," Yoshiya replied. "And if I did know, it is likely that I would not have got it right.
"You see, Japanese names can have multiple meanings," she continued, her quite voice quivering as she spoke. "It's usually the way they're spelt in Japanese."

Yoshiya looked at a clock, which ticked quietly. Forgetting she had a watch, she said, "3:47. D'you remember when they serve dinner?" She silently waited for an answer. When Teiki replied, she wasn't sure what to say.

"I'm going to read some poetry from the Poetry Section," said Yoshiya. "You can come if you want." Walking over to the Poetry Section, she dragged her finger over the books, some with a thin layer of dust on them and others with so much that she could barely see the titles. One extremely thick one said something along the lines of 'Four Hundred and Sixty Wonderful Magical Poems', while another simply said 'Poems'. Yoshiya hoped that there was one or two with haikus in them. She couldn't seem to find one, much to her disappointment.

Glancing back at where she and Teiki had sat, she saw that three fifth-years had taken the place. She didn't mind—they must have been studying for an important exam.
