Open Hogwarts Welcomes You... With a Splash closed

Juna’s first day had gone by in a blur. She wasn’t sure how she’d managed to find every classroom (though not entirely on time…), because Hogwarts was huge. Sure, the castle was gigantic from the outside, but roaming the halls gave you a different perspective. Juna wondered if it had been hexed to appear smaller than it really was and noted down a mental reminder to research the topic further.

The private school she’d been enrolled to until just previously had been of the highest standard. Their students were fast witted and cold. Collected. With her chipped nail polish and antsy demeanor Juna knew she hadn’t fit in. Maybe that’s why she welcomed this newfound opportunity with open arms, despite her usually introverted self.

Still, when the noise from enthralled pupils; excited to be there, had caused an echoing ringing in the poor girl’s ears - she knew it was time for a break. She’d been looking for an excuse to explore the school grounds ever since she’d gotten there anyway. The weather was perfect for a walk; the sun peaking through fluffed-up clouds and comfortably heating up the atmosphere.

She made her way over to the Great Lake, strolling the bank absentmindedly. The grounds were littered with students here and there. A few had even shrugged their robes off in the heated breeze. A bird chirped a lilting tune and it seemed as though things couldn’t get better.

A splash suddenly sounded just left of Juna from the lake waters, making her jerk in surprise. When she looked though, there were no signs of what had made the sound. Were there… creatures down there? Her breath hitched in her throat. Considering how new she was to all this witch stuff, odd magic creatures hadn’t even crossed her mind.

Curiosity was a stronger drug than fear, so she leaned forward to peer down the darkly lit depths of the lake. “There’s nothing there.” She muttered, a hint of disappointment laced her tone. Having given up, she straightened her back just as her shoe slipped over a spot of mud. Within a matter of seconds the girl was sent bottoms first into the lake. “Ahhh!” She yelped as the icy cold water embraced her, soaking her robes.
