Alan & @Santario Martin
[quote]Alan was sitting outside enjoying the last few days of summer at his favourite spot in Hogwarts; the stables. Or not exactly the stables, as he was not exactly in them and just sitting next to them on a hill. However he was close enough to the stone building to hear the creatures, especially, if they tried to cause Griffith some trouble. Sometimes they would, but that was only natural... they were after all wild creatures and some of them even labelled impossible to tame by the ministry. However Alan still just liked to sit there and do whatever he was doing at the very moment. His cloak was laying on the ground and he was sitting on it, wearing just some pants a shirt; his uniform being stored in his dorms.
His guitar was sitting on his lap, while he was pulling on the strings with a frown to tune it, but it was taking him a while, if he was to admit it, frustrated him a little bit. Alan was just that patient, so at one point he would just give up for now and sigh, looking at his guitar accusingly, as if it was doing it on purpose.
After a moment of break he propped the guitar up again, giving it another try. Hopefully it would work, because Alan had forgotten his tuner in the common room at the beginning of the year, not realizing that it counted as technology; he just assumed it was fine to bring along, since his cousin told him, it would make tuning the guitar a lot easier. Well as soon as he checked his luggage he found it broken and not turning back on at all, so he just threw it away and had to guess by sound, if the guitar was nice enough with their sound.

*Click* *Click* Went the sounds of her camera as she took photos of the area. She had never been here before which would make sense since she didn’t have classes here. She thought she had known the name of the class that was taught here, but for whatever reason, it slipped her mind. She was dressed in a pair of black pants with a hole in the right knee, a grey V-neck t-shirt, and her favorite black leather jacket with cloth sleeves and a cloth hood. Her camera bag hung off of her left shoulder and her locket hung around her neck.
As she rounded the corner of the stables a breeze would blow her long raven hair into her face, something she would rectify easily with a swipe of her arm. It was then that she pulled her camera back up to her face. *click* a photo of a boy probably older than her with a guitar propped up in his lap. She would walk over to him, keeping a polite distance though. Since becoming friends with Kyle it seemed that she was gaining more confidence in approaching people and talking to them first. “I apologies for bothering you. What class is taught here again?” Her silvery voice asking in probably a more formal tone than he would have been expecting. Her sharp sapphire eyes moved from the stable building that he had been sitting against to his face so that she could take in his features.

Alan
[quote]So focused on his work or more likely so lost in his mind, he was caught by surprise, when he was so suddenly spoken to. He would flinch slightly, before looking up to the girl, that had approached him without him taking any notice of that. While his body did not react lots to the shock of being suddenly addressed, his genes always loved to make him easy to read for anyone, as they made his hair flash into a red color. This could have many reasons; shock, anger, embarrassment or some sense of surprise. In this situation it may be a mix of all, except for the anger. Alan was far from angry, merely surprised by what he assumed was someone from a year below his. Maybe he should be concerned, after all that meant people could simply sneak up on him, without noticing however what was there to be concerned about?
Still a bit absentmindedly he would muster her for a second, noticing the shirt he would smile a little, before looking at her face. ”Oh? This is usually occupied by Care of Magical Creatures or R.O.A.M lessons”, he would explain, before placing the guitar next to himself onto his robe. ”If you listen carefully you can hear the creatures on the inside, especially in the early mornings, which I assume is when Professor Griffith gets them their food?”, he added and pushed himself off the ground onto his feet in a swift movement.
Sure Alan was not exactly the first person to approach, but most of his friends were rather outgoing and blunt people, so in some way he had to adapt a little. He still did not like to approach strangers, but he was a lot better at having conversations now than when he first came to Hogwarts. ”Are you a first year? Alan 's the name, who are you?”, he asked as he offered his right hand to her. Alan would still be nervous around others, which one could have noticed by the way his hand clenched into a fist at his side, his left one, the one that he had not extended to the girl with the raven hair- a great contrast to Alan's hair that by now had changed back to the natural chestnut color.

Santario stared at him wide-eyed almost barely listening to him. Had his hair just changed color? She could have sworn this boy’s hair was a chestnut brown but now it was a bright red. What is the world?! She heard something about Care of Magical Creatures and food. That was really all she got out of the beginning part of their conversation. As he got to his feet her eyes followed his face, well realistically his hair, as he did so. She thought she had seen someone do this before and they were also an older student. She never had the opportunity to ask the other person, but here in this situation, she may not be able to stop herself.
She caught the name Alan and she seemed to snap back too it taking his hand in greeting. “My apologies for not introducing myself first and just barging in on your time. My name is Santario and yes. I am a first-year.” Although somewhat formal it would seem a little jumbled especially as his hair faded back into its original chestnut. “Thank you for answering my question Alan, and I know this is so terribly rude, but… Did your hair just change colors?” She finally pulled her eyes off of his hair and made eye contact with him if he was looking at her face. She was officially fascinated by this boy with the color-changing hair.

Alan would not even notice, that the girl was not paying attention to his explanations of his actual favorite subject. He loved Charms and Care of Magical Creatures just so much and it would always bring a smile to his face, if he talked about either. Alan usually knew when his appearance changed, either because he specifically controlled it to act that way or simply because it gave a tingling sensation at the area that was changing. However he was so used to it by now and as he grew older he had learned to control the accidental shifts to an extent. Only when he was feeling strongly, either emotion really, his hair or other features would change and turn him into an open book for literally anyone to read, to his dismay.
Alan nodded, when she replied, his smile brightening just a little bit, upon finally being given a name to the face. His cheeks tinted into a soft shade of red; an actual embarrassed blush as she brought up his ability. "Yeah, it did... I can kinda control it by now, but my concentration just sucks, especially when my emotion suddenly shifts", he explained, "Technically I should be able to control it by now, but I might never be that good; but I can sometimes change stuff on purpose too!"

Santario would nod which he confirmed that what she had seen was true. She would giggle a little awkwardly at realizing exactly how rude that really had been. “I didn’t mean to be so forward. I’ve just never really seen that before and it caught me off-guard. Thank you for humoring me.” She would carefully place her camera into the camera bag that hung at her left hip before looking back up at him with a smile. “So this is Care of Magical Creatures Stables? Which makes you a third-year?” She guessed since he was hanging around the area and knew so much about it. Though she could be wrong maybe he was just another student like her who had stumbled across the area and had learned about it.
“I feel like everyone controls things in their own time. Things like that just simply can’t be rushed.” She ran a hand through her hair pushing most of it onto her back. “So you play the guitar?” She asked trying to make a conversation because although she may be slightly better at approaching people than she used to be she still wasn’t great starting or continuing a conversation. This was the part that was still hard for her to do with people she didn’t know that well.

Alan shook his head slightly, when she apologized for asking the question. "It is not your fault for not knowing and I am glad I was able to explain this to you", he explained in the hopes she would stop feeling bad about it. However she did giggle, didn't she? So she must still be in a good mood, which was somewhat of a relief to the third year, who would have hated to upset her in any way. "Well the race is not exactly common, so I don't judge you for never haven seen a metamorph before; we can basically just adapt our physical appearance and stuff; apparently my grandmother was one"
Alan nodded. "Yeah, year three... Do you mind nicknames?", he asked, brushing back a strand of his hair with a curious look in his eyes. He would ask just in case. He somehow wanted to be friends with this girl, but that was not rare for Alan. He wanted to befriend the whole world, but rarely he actually made friends he could actually go to. So far he could count them on one hand, which was by far not bad, but still, you could never have enough people that had your back. Alan just liked being surrounded by people he liked and he loved helping them with their daily problems even more.
"Playing? Not yet, I don't really play, but I just like to study with it... My cousin gives me some lessons during the school breaks, but other than that I can't actually play-, he rambled, "Do you play any instruments or something like that?"

He confirmed her suspicion about what his year was, but then asked her if she minded nicknames. That made her think about being called Muppet. Considering she didn’t mind that insult being used as an endearing nickname she couldn’t really say that she minded having a nickname being used at all. “Oh no, not at all. My parents call me San instead of Santario, but you can come up with something else if you want to. My best friend calls me Muppet, but that one is his thing so feel free to choose your own.” She smiled as he talked about enjoying the study of guitar more than he actually played. She supposed that she could understand that it was a little bit how she views healing.
“I do not have any musical talent. Well, I guess I can sing? Or at least my father says I can. My talents tend to call with my camera as my hobby. Though I tend to focus my studies more on healing than anything else.” The camera was fun and she enjoyed taking photos but her passion was in learning how to take care of people and heal them. “I also really love potions. I’ve been helping my mom make potions since I was able to sit on the counter without being held up. Obviously not with the magic part or anything like that but she let me stir the cauldron and add ingredients sometimes.” Alan seemed pretty laid back and because he was it helped her relax a little which led to her being able to open up and talk a little more.

Alan liked that. He was officially given permission to give her a nickname and he loved finding nicknames. He would have to try out a few and then decide on which one would be an actual fit. "Well I think it will be Sanny for now, if you don't mind?", he proposed the first idea that came to his mind. For a more personal nickname, he would have to find out more about her, which he hoped he could eventually.
Alan smiled, when she mentioned singing. He did like to sing, even if his voice was not the best. However it was average or so he supposed and singing was just fun. He had been screaming the song from the muggle movie over the whole summer; that lion was basically his idol now or as far as a animated lion could get to being an actual idol. "Healing is that like something you would like to do in the future?", he asked positively surprised. It sounded like an awesome goal, at least for him. But his path was already dreamed, even if he did not knew the details, he could only see himself surrounded by creatures.
"With potions you can actually hunt me, I usually burn myself on the cauldron or some other stuff happens. I just lack the patience for that and end up throwing everything in", he told her with an amused chuckle. He also hated taking any kind of potions, but that was something else.

San wasn’t one hundred percent sure on if she actually enjoyed that or not but she figured it would probably grow on her and if it remained just his nickname for her that would be fine. “I think that that is perfectly fine. Is there anything you prefer to be called or do you prefer Alan?” When he asked her if healing is something that she would like to do in the future she would answer with a nod. “I do think so, at least on some level. My mom is a head healer at St. Mungos so I’ve been there a lot and have seen how things work. Though I also want to be a potions master I do really love it. I did, however, learn how to do somethings the muggle way before my ma taught me about the magic ways of healing.”
He talked about not having the patience for potions and getting burned while working on them and she would give a slight chuckle. “Yes, you really do have to have a lot of patients. Plus you have to treat the ingredients properly when preparing them. There is a lot of things that have to go right for you to brew good potions and patience is definitely one of them. Though I would be careful if I were you, you don’t want to accidentally make a poison.” It definitely seemed like she knew what she was talking about even for a first-year.
