Having seen the adorable Pygmy Puffs on sale at the Magical Menagerie, Dinara had wasted no time in writing back home to ask for money to get one. Fortunately for whichever poor Pigmy Puff that would've ended up being wrangled in Dinara's care (or there lackof), Mr and Mrs Lucey both had the sense to reject her request, instead, asking her to 'learn about pet mom responsiblities first'.

Dejected and confused, the girl had found her way to the CoMC grounds. An oddly apt place considering her predicament; though there weren't any interesting sights to see apart from the occasional bird or two. Even then, Dinara was no Disney © Princess, her singing would probably cause a whole flock of birds to escape from their nests rather than to draw them to her.

She wasn't quite sure as to why she ended up in this particular place; all she knew and all she could feel was the crushing disappointment of not having a Pygmy Puff. Her parents had been proud to hear that their daughter had been crowned a prefect, but apparently not proud enough to give her a Pygmy Puff!

Brooding on her misfortune, Dinara kicked at the tufts of feet beneath her, dislodging various pieces and sending them spraying across the open field. It wasn't a very sightly scene, though one would suppose that an eleven-year-old child would be allowed time to themselves to throw a proper tantrum.

"I REALLY WANT A PYGMY PUFF!!!"

She yelled out to the open wilderness, her voice echoing easily amongst the dense trees surrounding the area. If Professor Griffith had been around the area, it would have definitely been loud enough to alert him of the presence of an angry, screaming Hufflepuff. If not, Dinara was simply left to her own anger and frustration.

Ray had always been a great cat since the day she bought him. A shy but nice cat, it was easier to raise him than she thought it would be. They spent a lot of time together, and she liked him more and more. People said that pets were usually like their owners, but Luna didn't think so. They literally didn't have anything alike, and he was more like her brother.

The Slytherin Prefect stopped thinking about this and turned her gaze to the cat who was lying on her laps, sleeping peacefully. The weather was pretty good today, good for relaxing. Luckily, she had already finished all her homework, and now she just needed to relax. Taking a book out of her bag, she opened it and started reading.

At least, that was what she wanted to do. The book that she had on her hand right now mentioned something about the Mokes and that reminded her about the R.O.A.M event last time that she participated. It didn't go well, and she was sure that without that Gryffindor guy, she wouldn't be able to "catch" the Mokes. Maybe she should visit the Professor to ask about it instead of sending an owl, after all, she was already at the ground.

Luna gently put Ray on the ground, trying her best not to wake him up. After that, she looked around to check if she forgot anything and then started going to the Care of Magical Creatures area. That would be where he showed up, wouldn't it?

It didn't take her too long, but the person she needed was not here. However, there was a Hufflepuff girl. A familiar look, though she couldn't recognize her. If she was not wrong, this was the new Hufflepuff Prefect. There were some new prefects these days... Luna suddenly felt like she was pretty old, funny. She hasn't had this role for a long time, but there were already some new prefects.

Anyway, it didn't seem like that girl was in a good mood. With the fact that she had no interested in causing herself in troubles, she would leave now. Trying her best not to make the other girl noticed, Luna turned around and walked away, but then she stopped walking because the other girl suddenly screamed. That kind of make Luna felt uncomfortable because loud noises weren't her thing.

"I apologize but," Luna went closer to the Hufflepuff with her calm face, people might misunderstand that she was angry, but she wasn't. "If you want a Pygmy Puff, why don't you just... go and buy one?" Screaming like this wasn't a bad way to get the Professor, but it wasn't a good way either. She couldn't just ignore this girl anymore, and it seemed like she was just pissed off because of wanting a Pygmy Puff.

Dinara's little tantrum was very quickly interrupted by what seemed like a much more sensible schoolmate of hers. The little shiny badge on her robes alerted Dinara to the fact that she was a fellow prefect as well, likely one that had been around for a much longer time than Dinara herself had been.

Attempting to shuffle her feet closer together and to maintain some form of composure in front of who she considered a respected senior, Dinara held her chin up high, sticking out her pinky in what she thought she remembered was something grand people did.

"Well, pardon my little..." her voice trailed off as her cheeks flushed in embarrassment. "...Outburst. I assure you I am very much fine! Besides, it's not as easy to just get a Pygmy Puff! My... Royal lineage wouldn't allow for it."

The young girl's words wouldn't even have convinced a donkey, much less someone who had been a prefect for much longer than she. Still, she remained oblivious to the rather absurd situation that the poor Slytherin had somehow skedaddled her way into. Sticking her hand out towards the cat, not the human, a look of absolute seriousness crossed Dinara's face as she looked pointedly at the cat.

"Well, it's very nice to meet you, Mr. Cat. How should I address you?" Clearing her throat, she patted her little shiny prefect badge that she so ostentatiously polished every morning before continuing. "My name's Dinara Lucey, Year 1 Hufflepuff Prefect."

A more skeptical student would have assumed that Dinara was trying to play some huge practical joke on the girl, yet anyone who knew Dinara would have been able to tell that she was perfectly serious. In the young girl's mind, a cat would very much have served the same purpose as the pygmy puff that she so desired at this moment in time.

When the Hufflepuff turned to her and tried to be calm, Luna realized that this girl had a badge, that she also had and she was wearing it. Only prefects were allowed to have, and wear the Prefect Badges. That also meant this girl over here had to be one of her colleagues. To be fair, she didn't care about it that much. Not that she had to remember all of them to work with them. She had no interested in remembering her colleagues a long time ago. The girl had heard that Hufflepuff had some new prefects, but she had never met those old ones. She had no idea if this person was the old or new one, not that she cared. It was none of her business anyway.

As soon as that girl raised her chin up, a thought came to Luna's mind. Was this girl... despise the Slytherin Prefect? She had read in some books, they said that people tended to raise their chin up whenever they despise someone. There might be some rumors about her that this girl had heard, but as far as she knew, everything she did was perfect. She did not do anything embarrassed, or this girl acted like this because the Hufflepuff was the embarrassed one? Her action would make much more sense.

"It is none of my business anyway." Royal lineage? Only kids would believe it. To be fair, even her little brother would not believe this although he believed that fairy and princesses were real. What kind of royal person would be like... this? So not special at all, what a liar. Even someone who still saying lies like she had to point that out. "If you do not have enough money, just say it. I do not have any interested in judging." Luna usually didn't care about other's problem, as long as they didn't have anything to do with her. And the Hufflepuff Prefect's problem? Basically had nothing to do with her.

Pygmy Puff. She wanted to buy one back then, but then Ray caught her eyes which made her choosing the cat instead of those creatures. Now she thought about back then, she was really glad that adopting a Pygmy Puff was not her decision. They made too many noises and that would make her felt totally uncomfortable. She would not be able to focus on anything. But it was actually good that it could eat everything though. If she wanted to destroy anything, she would just need to throw that thing on its mouth. That was only its pros though. It would be a big problem in summer, when it was so hot and stuff...

When she noticed that this girl was trying to approach her cat, the Slytherin Prefect opened her mouth and was going to stop the girl. However, a thought came to her mind. It made her decide not to do anything. This girl should learn the lesson herself. Not everyone would be friendly with her if she was friendly.

Ray was not taking a deep nap. He just wanted to rest and close his eyes a little bit, it was a beautiful day after all. However, the beautiful day didn't last long. There was someone, this was not a familiar voice, interrupted his sleeping time. Luna would never do it unless something really important happened, also he was pretty sure he didn't know this person. The young cat opened his eyes, looking at the girl in front of him a few seconds and ran away. He disliked strangers. They were scary to him, also, they had just interrupted his resting time. If he was not wrong, Luna was going to do something, which was also why he decided to come back to her dorm. How did he go to through the big green room? He just had to wait until a person who wore a green tie said the word, and the door would automatically open. Living in a magical place was amazing.

The Slytherin Prefect looked at her cat running away, was not surprised at all. After all, he was her cat. She could already guess why he left immediately after seeing Lucey. At least, she still had the chance to introduce herself to him.

She was thinking if she should leave or not. However, she wanted to meet the professor, maybe staying here and waited for him to appear.

The Luceys had never been a family to struggle financially. They weren't super rich, mind you, but definitely well-to-do enough to afford the things that they wanted. Dinara's little tantrum over the pygmy puffs were more due to her family's beliefs in values that they wished to cultivate in their children than a financial disability to actually afford the pet.

The Slytherin prefect didn't much bother to interact with Dinara, and she figured that the girl had better things to do than to listen to her rant about her problems with pygmy puffs (or there lackof). It also seemed as though the cat shared many characteristics with the prefect -- both rather cold and unfriendly, it would seem. Dinara made a face at the cat's behaviour, it was utterly disrespectful to not respond to someone's greeting. Did the cat's mother not teach it any manners?

"Well, someone ought to teach the cat some manners." She frowned as she watched the cat stalk away without anything as much as a backwards glance. Really, now, you'd think that generally pets kept on campus would be much more socialised than this! Besides, the sweet little Pygmy Puffs would be absolute darlings, never mind the fact that Dinara's mom bore a strong dislike towards the seemingly useless rolling creatures. Sure, they were cute, but they didn't seem to serve much of a practical purpose as a living thing. They truly lived only to squeak and roll, though the young girl didn't see an issue with that.

Though the cat's unexpected departure left the Hufflepuff feeling slightly dejected and offended, she figured that it would somehow know where to go, though it did come as a surprise to her that it's owner hadn't taken off after it immediately. If it had been her cat, Dinara would likely have quickly followed the cat to make sure it was okay -- her pet's wellbeing would be of the topmost priority to her.

She turned back to the Slytherin, nodding curtly at her. Dinara wasn't quite sure what she felt about the prefect apart from their incredibly brief interaction -- she didn't seem to care too much about her little tantrum, so that was as nice as it got. The chatterbox had already assumed that the other girl was not much of a talker, and she wasn't exactly in the mood to rack up any conversations either. Assuming that it'd be rude to just leave, she extended a hand.

"It was nice to meet you. Hope you find whatever you're looking for and that your cat's well and fine." She pursed her lips, wondering if she should elaborate further on her little situation. "If you're curious, I will eventually get my Pygmy Puff. My parents just think their rather useless and would prefer I get something else, that's all."

"I did." She doubted that any owner could be happy and acted normal when a stranger judged their pet. And obviously, Luna was not happy to hear that girl saying that Ray needed to be taught about more things. She could judge her pet, well she never did it, but that did not mean she would let anyone else judged him. Especially, not someone that she had just met for the first time. "Have your mother never taught you that you shouldn't talk to strangers? How disappointing." She wasn't disappointed, to be fair. There was no reasons for her to be disappointed because of a stranger, it was not like she put any expectation on this girl anyway.

She knew Ray. Her little cat was scared of strangers and did not like them at all. There weren't too many people who could manage to approach him. Even Nico, another Slytherin prefect, failed with approching him although the girl tried to be nice.

The lavendered hair girl had taught him before that he shouldn't talk to strangers. However, she didn't know if he was listening to her or not. After all, even before meeting her, he was still a shy cat like this. Even Luna herself needed some times so that Ray could get used to her at first.

Nice to meet her? She decided not to reply to this. Her opinion on this girl stayed the same - unimportant to remember. It was not like she would meet this girl a lot anyway. Not worthit to pay attention to her too much.

To be fair, the people who successed making her remembering them usually were annoying people. Mari Haynes for example. Just thinking about this girl made her sick. Why was that girl still in this school? It was surprising that she hadn't been kicked out yet.

So that was the case? In her opinion, they were pretty useful though. If you want to destroy something that you want to one to see, the fastest way would be putting it in the Pygmy Puff's mouth. Perfect. After all, she had read that the Pygmy Puff could eat everything. The only thing that bothered her was that they could not keep their mouth shut. Well... everything had pros and cons so whatever.

However, would she say that to this prefect? No. What if she was going to destroy some evidences and then this girl told everyone about her way? She was not that stupid. "A pet is like a friend. If you only want a pet that is useful to you, then what kind of person are you?" Luna said casually. And what was her casually? Cold tone, and didn't show any expression. Might seem like she was being annoyed, but that didn't mean she was. Her brother mentioned about this once, but seriously, she did not even care about it. Why did she have to care about what people thought and tried to change it? Couldn't understand how normal humans just faked themselves so that more people liked them.

It's odd that the prefect had remarked about Dinara's upbringing -- her mother had warned her about the whole issue of Stranger Danger, but she never was one to listen much, anyway. Blinking slowly at the Slytherin, Dinara almost snorted in her face. How ridiculous of her to think of the cat and a fellow student as strangers! Standing back up, she planted her hands on her hips.

"Well, I'd hardly call a schoolmate a stranger." Dinara spoke candidly, in quite a matter-of-fact tone. One might think she was being sarcastic, but it was something that she truly believed in. No one could call another person from Hogwarts a total stranger. They were all schoolmates to one another! Wrinkling her nose thoughtfully, she added:"Besides, we're both prefect colleagues. I suppose that's another connection there."

Feeling quite pleased with having made her point, Dinara went back to scuffing at the grass tufts, damaging both her shoes and the landscape. A sad battle where neither side emerged victorious, save for Dinara's personal satisfaction. Had Dinara been less pre-occupied with the thought of fighting her mother for her pygmy puff, she may have had called Luna out on her rudeness of not replying. Thankfully for the both of them, Dinara had been far too preoccupied in wallowing about her disappointment in her family's lack of support in her getting a pygmy puff!

The silence would've been unbearable for the girl if she hadn't been so preoccupied in her own worries. Luna's comment had very nearly gone ignored by the girl, besides, even if Dinara had heard it, she'd have likely rudely rebutted the prefect -- afterall, it was her family that opposed getting a pet because it wasn't 'useful enough'. Dinara was quite happy to have a useless pet as long as it looks good -- if she'd caught the snarky tone present in Luna's voice, there'd no doubt be a little bit of a fight there.

Dinara was an incredibly prideful person, especially if whatever she was being accused of was one that was something that she perceived as fake news.
