Kai had woken up late this morning, so she was already in a bad mood. Her bag hung off one shoulder, books clutched in her arms as she mulled over her day so far. She had gotten frustrated in class because she didn't understand what was going on. She had snapped at a student for staring at her.
Foolish. She thought grimly, her mouth set into a thin line. Her face was shadowed with slight bitterness, her green eyes burning with some sort of inner turmoil.
Foolish. She thought again. It frustrated her, how quickly she could snap, but she couldn't worry about that now.
She was thankful it was time for lunch. She hurried through the corridors, ignoring the mass of people around her. This wasn't such a good idea, since this meant she wasn't paying attention to where she was going. her knuckles were white as she clutched her books, stumbling into people, her throat sore from snapping at them.
Not their fault, yours. Foolish. She thought again, gritting her teeth.
She tripped, stumbling again. She smacked right into another person, hitting the ground hard, her books spread out around her. She cursed colorfully, lifting her eyes to glare at the person she had run into.
Darkness is full of beautiful creatures and sweet sorrows, and they should not be ignored if the darkness calls to you

Whistling a song that was almost inaudible before the chirps of her classmates, Bea walked out of the classroom, clutching her textbook under her arm. It was time for lunch. She rubbed her growling stomach, wondering what food awaited her today. If possible, Bea decided to gobble the entire Gryffindor table, including the kids, obviously. Not having anything to chew on for six hours was no joke. Before she could dig in, she had to go to her dorm to put her textbooks back. "Oh, shut up!" she gently hit her grumbling stomach. "You are such a nuisance." Bea marched along the corridors, overtaking anyone who came in her way, careful not to bump into them. But alas, she tripped into something, or someone, and fell flat on the floor. "AY," OUCH she shrieked along with the person she tripped on to, caressing her stomach. It was being tortured today, by Bea, and by the floor. Poor belly. Still on the floor, she slowly turned to face the girl beside her, who was giving her, most likely, a death glare. Bea did not know what to say, forcing her to pass the girl an awkward grin. "H-hey, um..." she mumbled, not able to meet the girl's eyes. "I am so sorry. Are you hurt? I-I will pick up the books for you." Glaring people scared her easily. She busied herself gathering the books, often taking awkward glances at the green-eyed girl. Once she finished, she stood up and extended a hand towards the girl to help her stand up. "Here you go," she smiled nervously. |

Kai stared at the girls extended hand. With a scowl, she pushed herself off the ground, ignoring it. "It's fine, I guess," she grumbled.
Silently, she scolded herself. Stop being so rude, it's not her fault you're a bloody fool.
With a sigh, she repeated, "It's fine, I'm alright. Are you okay?"
The question tumbled out of her mouth automatically, surprising her. Kai usually never asked if other people were okay. Slowly, she took her books and hugged them to her chest. There was a stinging pain on the beck of her neck and she could feel drops of something warm sliding down her neck. Twisting her head she saw a sharp edge of her notebook sticking out of her bag. Figuring she scratched her neck with it, she turned back to the girl.
I wonder where she was going in such a hurry. She thought about it for a moment. Ah, wait. Probably lunch.
The girl looked mildly familiar she realized. Kai studied her face and uniform, her seemingly endless green eyes taking in every detail. She concluded that the girl was a fellow Gryffindor, so she had probably seen her in the common room, classes, and the few times she stayed in the Great Hall longer than it took her to eat her fill.
Her gaze flicked back up to the other girl's eyes.
