It seemed to Karina that the effects of the berry were starting to wear off. But unfortunately, so was her happiness and energy. At first taste, the berry made everything around her all weird and exciting. Then, as if she'd awoken from a nightmare, she was screaming. Now, Karina felt as though her soul was being sucked out. She was scared to think of what could happen next.

Karina stood up, with the help of Avery. One look at Avery's face, and Karina could tell something strange was going on to her. How far is this Wing anyways? Karina had only been up there once, and too with the weirdest problem. (She'd received a concussion from an angry book that had fallen on her from the library, making her act all angry herself.)

Karina was quite having the most unluckiest year anyone could possibly ask for. Yet, after all these events, she'd some how managed to gain new friends, which had helped her along the way.

Karina was sort-of limping towards the school. Avery, being right at her side, of course if anything happened. Hopefully, she would run off again. One look at Karina, and you'd think she'd gone mad. She looked up at the sky. It wasn't a cloudy afternoon, yet rather chilly. Winter break was coming up soon and there was a light layer of snow under them.

What ever was that creature that started this mess in the first place? Karina wondered as she took slow, steady steps.

"Are you sure you'll be okay? Do you want to lean on me for support so you can save your energy to get up the stairs?" Avery asked the girl as they slowly walked back toward the castle. Avery knew that the walk was going to be long one at this pace, but if the went any faster, well, Avery knew things wouldn't end well. They were both tired from the running, and Avery knew that Karina was especially tired. Whatever that berry had done to her had really wiped her out. Avery knew that what the girl really needed was a good night's sleep, but she also knew that she needed to be checked out in the Hospital Wing just to make sure that the berry hadn't left any lasting effects. She didn't want her new friend to not feel well at all after all they had just gone through. As they continued to walk slowly towards the castle, Avery took in her surroundings. She loved being outside, but this place was a lot more different than where she usually spent her time. It wasn't that it looked different, but instead it felt different. Like something was watching her from the woods. Maybe it was that creature. It was probably waiting for the perfect moment to attack again.

"Yes, Yes, I think I'll be fine. I'm starting to feel much better now."

The abnormal colors in Karina's eyes were starting to fade and her normal vision was slowly coming back yet she still felt a little dizzy. Karina felt her legs also gain a little balance.

Karina looked around. Well look on the bright side... She thought, You get to spend a day in nature and you made a new friend! In her mind, she rolled her eyes. This wasn't how Karina planned to make friends at Hogwarts. So far, the friends she made were 'accidental'. Either she saved them, or they saved her.

Karina cleared her throat to break the silence. The school's entrance doors were now clearly visible.

"I think I'll be okay. If you want you can come up with me."

Karina blinked and felt her face go red. Why now? Why was she feeling embarrassed now? Before when she was practically going crazy, she didn't feel embarrassed, but now asking Avery to come up with her was the embarrassing part?!

Karina went up the wet (snow had been beginning to melt) steps and neared the open doors to the castle. She was surprised to not see posters hanging up on the walls.

"Beware! You might become accidental friends with Karina! She causes problems where ever she goes! Try to not encounter her when she goes mad though."

The image was clearly painted in her mind. And while 'daydreaming' she didn't notice something small hop onto her leg.

"I'll come with you and make sure nothing happens again." Avery said. If something did happen to her new friend if she left, well, she would never be able to forgive herself. Too much had happened lately to add that feeling on top of her soon-to-crumble tower of pain and suffering. Avery walked with the girl to the castle in silence. She didn't know what to say. She knew that telling the girl everything was going to be alright or that she would be okay was a lie. Neither of them knew what the mysterious berry was, and what effects it could have. Avery needed to get her to the Hospital Wing. Everything depended on it. That's when she noticed something small latch onto Karina's leg. She tensed and stopped. "Something's on your leg. I don't recognize it yet, though." Avery said as she crouched down to observe the thing that had latched onto her friend's leg. She tensed again as she watched it. She still didn't recognize the mysterious creature, or thing, or whatever it was classified as. Too bad no one else was around. They really needed the help of an expert. Especially since they had to get to the wing just in case the effects of the berry came back or worse.

Karina just stared. The little creature's texture appeared familiar to Karina. Had she seen it before? She had. But where? She crouched down, along with Avery, and they just kept observing it. It was a neon color of a mix of blue and purple. It was also very slimy.

"Avery, what is it? It looks so..... slimy."

Karina stopped in confusion. Why wasn't it afraid of Karina. Karina scrunched her face, making herself look like the 'bigger predator', but it didn't seem to care. Thoughts swirled her mind. Was it poisonous? Was it about to transform into some monstrous creature? Was it just about to attack Avery? Or what about Kari? What was going to happen to her?

Out of the quickest move possible, the little lizard-like thing jumped off of Karina's shoe and looked up at Avery. What was it thinking?! What ever it was about to do, it won't happen to Avery, Karina won't let it!

Still staring at Avery, the lizard-like creature smacked its slimy lips and its eyes almost looked like they changed color! They went from green to a light pink! Whatever this thing was, it sure needed to be observed! This had to be taken to the Care of Magical Creatures Professor. Forgetting about the journey to the Hospital Wing, Karina now had a new mission; they had to find the professor.

"I don't recognize it at all. I've never seen a creature like that before. We need to get a professor." Avery said. Avery cringed a little and took a step back as the creature stared up at her. It's eyes boring into her soul. Avery couldn't run even though she wanted to. She had to get her friend to the Care of Magical Creatures professor just in case this creature was deadly. She didn't want to watch another friend of hers die before her eyes. "Follow me. I think I know where the professor is that can identify this creature." Avery said as she began walking back towards the Care of Magical Creatures class. She vaguely remembered seeing the office of the professor, so maybe the professor was there? That was something she could only hope for. Avery began the long walk back to the class briskly. She didn't want whatever that creature was to disappear. That would be bad. She couldn't allow that to happen. Not when her friend's life could be on the line. That thought alone caused her to quicken her pace to what was close to a jog. She had to make it there. Before anything else happened.

Karina took her eyes off of the creature for a little. She wiped her hands from the wet snowy grass and noticed that Avery stood up. Where was she going to look for the Professor?

As Avery began to walk to look for the professor, Karina didn't want to have the Professor come back to nothing in the place of the creature. Karina made a sudden reach towards a few dry leaves, trampled in the snow. She was going to take the creature with her.

"Awwww, you poor thing must be cold!"

Taking the leaves, she wrapped the animal in them and picked up the creature. Then, she began to follow Avery, carrying the little thing. It kept moving in her arms though Karina tried to be gentle with it.

"He needs a name. I'm suggesting; Squirmy, Rainbow or Slimy. Squirmy because he keeps squirming in my arms. Rainbow because he is so colorful. And slimy because... well he's slimy! "

Giggling, she decided to give the name some more thought.



A short amount of time later, Kari began to get tired. Her vision was now fully normal but she did feel a little wobbly on her feet. She suddenly did feel a little light-headed though.

"Hey Avery? How much further?"

Avery smiled as Karina decided to try and figure out a name for the mysterious creature. "All the name choices make sense, though I think slimy rainbow makes the most sense." They walked at a brisk pace back towards the class when Avery noticed that Karina was lagging a bit behind. She kicked herself internally that she had just left straight for the class without making sure her friend was up for the journey or not. The berry had some ugly effects and she didn't want to have her friend passing out before they arrived back where they could find a professor. "We're almost there. Just a few more yards and then we can get this problem solved and get you to the hospital wing. Are you sure you're going to be okay?" Avery said as they approached the class again. Now it was time for the hardest part. Find the professor. "Hello? Is anyone here?" Avery called out not too loudly so she wouldn't disturb the blob that was in Karina's hands. She just hoped that the creature wasn't dangerous or harmful. Things were already bad as is. Avery wanted to go and knock on the door of the office, but thought better of it. She didn't want to be rude and disturb the professor if something important was happening. She could wait a few more minutes, but not too long since Karina's health and well-being was on the line.

"I'm coming!!"

Karina hurried over, finally Avery was coming back into view. While she had taken a short break, Avery must've continued on without her! Oh, but now that Karina had caught up with her again, they could start looking for the professor.

Karina decided to keep an eye on the animal just in case something happens to it. Not like anything was going to happen to it, right? As long as it was with either Kari or Avery?

"Should we split up to look for the professor? It'll be faster! I can go check over by the bushes"

Karina pointed towards the grounds and began motioning the creature as to where they were going to go. Karina began looking around near the bushes. Maybe the professor had been doing some research outside somewhere?

After looking for what felt was an hour (It was only around 5 minutes), Karina decided to head towards the school to she if maybe the professor had been inside.

She walked through the open doors of the Great Hall when she finally realized, she hadn't checked in with Avery! What if Avery thinks Kari had gone missing? If Avery goes to find Karina near the bushes, she'd be really surprised not to see her there! So, Karina set back outside to first find Avery.
