Stage 75 - Flood
Stage 75 - Flood
Your fingers closed around the thread anyway and in that instant you saw the dolls. Not as toys. Not as cursed trinkets. While they were both, they were something more. They were containers, replacements, cruel vestiges of a dark magic that you had seen hints of before, you had just forgotten.
These dolls were not watching, they were remembering and they were taking pieces of students. Pieces of you. But that was not all, there was the forgetting. The faces you knew at one time but no longer did. Names, places, faces and friends. Students who arrived on the Hogwarts Express on the first day of school but never returned home for the holidays. One day their room was empty and nobody knew why, in fact nobody remembered a student ever being there. That place was always empty.
Then you would remember more. Remember seeing fellow first years run off, some into the woods and never return. Frantic, they would try to find them the next day or so they intended but after the morning meal they would forget why they were fretting so. If you had run after them, you would have died too, not that you could perhaps realize that in the depths of your confusion and grief. That was the burden of remembering, it came with the desperate need for action.
You might scream, but if you did, no sound would come. Only a ribbon of red thread would spill from your mouth, curling at your feet like unraveling silk.

You would then awake in the safety of your bed. You would remember the events of this day. You would remember Twinkle. You would remember Octavius. Only you and @Nabi Park would even know that name.
The dream was not just a metaphor. The corridor was not a real place, but it was a place you had been before. This corridor was not symbolic, it was a prison of the mind. A hall of silence where people, like you are placed, piece by piece, until nothing remains but the name stitched into their robes. Moments such as this one are diffused into the ether, forgotten.
Canbrey made you forget because you saw something. Something beneath and within the school. Something terrible and dark, infesting the walls and the floors. Something in the dolls. Something Canbrey doesn’t want to be known.
Please re-enter this adventure following the thread of another doll. This is relevant to your story, only you and (at this time) one other player (Nabi) knows what is going on!

For memory. For punishment. For possession.

There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.
Stage 75 - Flood
Mellani's fingers closed around the thread, and in the instant, she saw something. Dolls, one of which she recognized as the one she had lost. "What the hell?", Mellani whispered before it started making sense to her. How naive of her to think that the doll had been gifted to her by some of her muggle friends. She should have known the moment it disappeared that magic was involved in this.
Mellani slowly started remembering. The more she remembered, the more she wanted to go out and help. She remembered people disappearing into the woods. She wanted to run after them to find them. As memories started coming back, Mellani screamed, not understanding what was going on, but only a thread came out of her mouth, which only made her try to scream louder, but nothing happened.

Mellani then woke up in her dorm and looked around. She had just had a bad dream, but she knew something was wrong. She remembered taking the kid to the hospital wing. She remembered the house elf telling her she had seen something she was not supposed to, and for some reason, she remembered the nurse was Octavius Baird, their previous Astronomy teacher, though Mell did not know why that particular memory was relevant. Not yet, anyways.
