Brave @Kyle DeRook fought on despite being first blinded and then blindfolded, holding the Gryffindor spirit high and trying to sow confusion among the enemy team by casting a Smoke-Screen that could have saved him had it gone where the ball came from. Unfortunately for Kyle, being blindfolded meant that his aim was nonexistent, and instead of blinding the ones aiming for him his cloud of smoke appeared at the far side of the field.

It was @Janus Lumley who saw his chance, taking his time to aim and threw that ball right at Kyle.@Alan Vanes wanted to save Kyle, but he was unfortunate enough that his spell, while it conjured a soft, warm breeze onto the Gryffindor side, had no effect on the course of the ball at all. @Griseldis Edelhardt dis tried to stop the attack as well, throwing a desperate Bubble-Producing Charm, but even the hit from that could not hold off the inevitable: [Ball 4] hit Kyle right in the chest.

For a moment time seemed to stop. Then, an ominous cracking sound echoed over the Great Lake’s surface. The translucent, solid platform beneath the Gryffindor started to break, splintering into hundreds of tiny magical shards and opening up a whole right into the lake. Kyle fell right into the water, accompanied from a few shocked noises from the shoreline.

The water thankfully was not ice-cold, but still Elaine hurried to move the boat she was standing on over towards her fallen student, moving him out the water with a swift levitation charm. She wanted to say give him a few encouraging words, but the game was still underway as the playing field closed itself back-up.

Another Gryffindor had had the same idea as Kyle, casting another Smokescreen Spell to impede their opponents. @Katrina Walker ina managed to say the word Fumos just in time before a perfectly executed Disarming Spell from the other side of the field threw her wand out of her grasp and to the other end of the Gryffindor side. @Phaedra Stavrou had landed a hit, but the damage was done as the cloud was blown straight into her face by a gust of wind. @Griseldis Edelhardt eldis was unfortunate to stand just too close to the middle of the playing field, and was enveloped right alongside various Ravenclaws.

Meanwhile, @Dymphna Teague cast her own Expelliarmus at @Euphrasia Millie phrasia, but the Ravenclaw girl was too slow to dodge even though she saw the spell coming and her wand, too, was knocked out of her hand. Beside the half-Veela, @Oliver Hart threw a ball [Ball 5] instead of a spell, aiming at @Marla Quinlan but missing wide, in part because the poor girl was still dancing her feet off. @Max Avery saw a distracted opponent and took his own chance, [Ball 3] smacking into the side of Oliver, who’d had no chance to dodge.

There was more creaking just as Kyle’s could of smoke enveloped more of the Ravenclaw side, hiding not only Oliver but also @Dymphna Teague , @Janus Lumley , and @Lavinia Cloven , the later three of which would now all have to work on limited vision. For Oliver it was too late however, as the field splintered away underneath him and gave way into the lake.

Still on the Ravenclaw side of things @Cecily Quinn attempted to hit Alan Vanes with [Ball 6], but her effort was unsuccessful and the ball flew harmlessly over his head instead. In the meantime @Xailah Alptraum was on the offense as well, throwing [Ball 2] at the unsuspecting @Phaedra Stavrou . She had teammates who wanted to protect her, however, @Adam Harringtom trying to go on the defense with an Umbrella Spell, as @Neculai Lazar aimed a Dancing-Feet Spell at the attacker. Adam’s spell didn’t even come close to the ball that missed wide, while Neculai hit Xailah with a nice foxtrot.

Missing out on most of the action @Eris Fawley managed to take her blindfold off in that moment, while @Maggie Parker beside her attempted to cast the Green Sparks Charm at @Cecily Quinn , who had already missed Alan. Adrian was right next to them, locked in a staring contest with @Ruthie Greer , the two having both chosen each other for their targets. Adrian threw [Ball 1] just as Ruthie cast a nasty Tarantellagra. For a moment it looked like one of them might evade, but then both ball and spell hit, Adrian’s feet moving into a salsa like he’d been a dancer for years.

More ice cracked, and Ruthie went falling just as Katrina’s Smokescreen Spell drifted to where she had stood, instead engulfing the Ravenclaw @Tatiana Crane the instant Ruthie met the Lake’s waters. A silent, dark-haired boy watched them – or maybe he was just randomly standing there, it was hard to tell.

Elaine hurried the boat along to collect the two fallen Ravenclaws, snatching them out of the water with the same practiced easy that she’d snatched Kyle with. She’d raised a daughter, this wasn’t the first time she’d pulled a child from a lake. The boat made its way towards the shore to bring the drenched students to the safety of warm blankets and some cups that were charmed to hold hot cocoa.

The match would continue without those three.

Maggie winced as her Green Sparks Charm missed yet again— this obviously wasn’t working. She’d have to start getting to the balls faster, so she could chuck them over towards the other team and not have to rely on her spellcasting skills, which, let’s face it, weren’t great.

She quirked her lips upwards as she made eye contact with Cecily, hoping she didn’t notice the Charm sent her way. Maggie had seen two Ravenclaws go down on the other side— Ruthie and a rather large kid. Maybe Cecily had been distracted by that as well?

Whatever, Maggie shrugged internally, turning her head to asses the damages of her team from her last play. A ball whizzed past her, making her jump slightly, but it completely missed her and instead hit Kyle, who was rendered defenseless with a blindfold on.

Maggie, only leaving a few seconds to feel bad for him, raced over, picking up the ball [BALL FOUR] from where it’d bounced off of him and rolled to the side.

She had a few seconds to decide who her target would be, but since she hadn’t been paying much attention to the other players of the game, she couldn’t really tell if there was someone she should be hitting.

Deciding that her best bet was to avenge her fellow Gryffindor, Maggie chucked the ball [BALL FOUR] at the kid who’d gotten Kyle out [JANUS LUMLEY].

THREW BALL FOUR AT JANUS LUMLEY

Success, and then chaos. The captain of the Quidditch team impressively managed to cause chaos on the Ravenclaw side despite being blindfolded, and another girl followed his lead to obscure the vision of a large portion of the team. This was the perfect cover to throw another ball, and Max had his sights set on one particular Ravenclaw who seemed to be turning the tide of the game just by being there. Realistically, the kid was small and Max's aim wasn't the most accurate so it was a long shot, but you never got anywhere without trying.

Running on the adrenaline of hitting the other Ravenclaw, Max dashed across the field to grab Ball 5, the one he'd seen Oliver throw in Marla's direction. Eyes narrowed in concentration, he ignored the chaos of the field around him and focused solely on his target. Not moving, not attempting to even throw a ball. There was something about him though, something that appeared to make other people uneasy whenever they threw. Were people somehow scared of the kid Max had met once or twice? Whatever the reason, Max remained unaffected as he drew his arm back.

"Hey, Deathmote!" he called, a smile twitching onto his face as he recalled something Erin had said during the fight. "A gift from the death witches." And he threw, the ball aimed straight for the kid who simply stood there in the back.

Katrina smiled with success when her Obscuro went perfectly across the field. Her wand was hit with a well aimed Expelliarmus and it went spiraling out of her grip. She raced across the field in search of the precious stick. She saw it behind a Gryffindor and sprinted to it, trying to dodge incoming spells. She was almost to it when they accidentally kicked it backwards. She hustled after the wand. She raced to the back of the field eyes frantically searching for the wand. There it was, lying alone in the far corner. She dodged another spell that almost hit her, in the distraction another person kicked the wand farther into the crowd. How was she ever going to find it?

[font=book antiqua]The blonde watched as her cousin pulled her two fellow Ravenclaws - a Prefect and a familiar boy - from the lake. As she was about to set her sights on another target, particularly who she thought to be the next best duelist of the bunch, a defensive cloud of smoke engulfed her and her companions. It didn't seem to be something that they could get away from easily. As Dymphna made her way towards a different area of the playing field, it seemed to follow her. In that case, she thought with a playful grin, I'll give them a taste of their own medicine.

"Fumos!" Dymphna made the circular wand movement, casting it in the general direction of the Gryffindors. It would hopefully hit someone over there. If it missed completely, at least she tried her best! There was someone [MAX] yelling from the Gryffindor side, something about Kaegen who always unsettled her. If he were out of the game, she didn't think that she would mind too much - but she still wanted her house to win all the same! What in Merlin's name was a Death Witch anyway?

ACTION: Cast Fumos in the direction of Gryffindor.

Alan really had hoped his spell would work or even be strong enough to disrupt the dodgeballs line of flight, but he could only watch as Kyle was hit by the dodgeball in his chest. He watched the younger Gryffindor fall into the Great Lake, making him gasp slightly in surprise. That surely would not feel nice, especially with having no actual grasp on his surroundings; being blindfolded and all.

Alan shook his head t get his mind free, running after the sixth ball that had flown past his head and picked it up from the ground, before taking a look around, to see someone attempting to cast a spell into their direction. Alan was not sure, since he could not hear it, but was pretty sure it was the Smokescreen-spell, guessing from the wand-movement itself. Hoping she would fail or be distracted by his next action he threw the dodgeball at Dymphna Teague, hoping he would be able to hit her. He did remember seeing said Ravenclaw at one point in school and he knew that she was nice and kind. However he had no clue how she would do in a match of this sort, but well she already made it two rounds, so she was either staying in the background, like that one guy [Kaegen], who did nothing but watching the game, or she just was actively dodging. Maybe she was just lucky, but Alan was about to find out. Speaking about the boy in the corner, Alan was getting weird vibes from him, something just seemed off. It was not the first time, Alan had felt that way in his company, but he was not sure how to explain it. Then again their meetings did not exactly go great and Alan was just confused by the Ravenclaw, so he just inwardly cheered for Max to land a hit, when he threw his dodgeball [5], at Kaegen.

Ah shit, there went her wand. Millie groaned as she watched her wand, her best friend, her companion, go flying out of her hand. Torn between the desire to throw the Ravenclaw a crude sign, and grabbing her wand, she decided she didn't want a professor to see, and quickly went to the ground, searching for her wand through the chaos.

Dodging the multitude of spells that were shot her way, she groaned as Kyle was shot out of the game, he was athletic, being the Quidditch Captain, and was a good teammate. Millie continued crawling through people until she finally found her wand, she stood up and sprinted forward, hoping to grab it before it got stepped on, or worst.

Another successful spell casting, Griseldis watched as countless bubbles producing out from the tip of her wand and in a blick of an eye. Countless bubbles were floating around the dark-haired Ravenclaw (Janus Lumley), it would be a hard time for him to dodge a ball while surrounded by bubbles everywhere.

When Griseldis was about to celebrate, she heard a groan from behind. She quickly turned around and saw their poor captian (Kyle DeRook) did get hit by the ball unfortunately and fall into the Great Lake. "Captain!!", before Griseldis could go help her fallen teammate her vision suddenly been clouded by the black smoke out of the blue. Her eyes felt like they were burning and she coughed a few times due to the strong smell from the smoke. "What the- *cough* where did *cough* these smoke come from?", Griseldis was confused and very on alerted at this point. Because right now, she was in a slightly disadventage position herself.

While trying her best to escape from the black smoke around her, she tried to waved the smoke away and got a glimpse of the Gryffindor girl (Adrian Calhoun) she asked to follow her successfully hit a first year Ravenclaw (Ruthie Greer). "OUT!", turning towards the direction of the loud voice. Griseldis saw someone familiar (Max Avery) who just hit a chubby Ravenclaw (Oliver Hart) with Ball Nr. 3. Looks like two of her teammates were able to hit two Ravenclaws down! With that thought in mind, Griseldis was proud of them. She then saw another Ravenclaw with glasses (Neculai Lazar) just hit the third year Gryffindor girl (Xailah Alptraum) with Tarantallegra. Griseldis bit her lower lip and decided to cast the same spell she used last round at the Ravenclaw boy. She took out her wand once again and aimed at him. Despite her eyes still stung, she managed to do the proper hand movement. And even though this would be a 50% chance for her to hit the target with a spell. However, she was willing to risk it, "Bullarum Immortalem!!"
