Steven becomes a part of your inner circle, knowingly or unknowingly. When you chat with your friends, Steven is there listening. When you write in your journal, Steven is reading over your shoulder. When you tell them your hopes and your dreams when you think you are alone, except for the inanimate Steven of course, Steven listens.
As academics become easier. As your bullies naturally start to keep their distance, there is more space for friends. They surround you, but things start to go wrong with them also.
