Questions
Usually there is a word count minimum, points will be deducted if you don't write at least as many words as necessary. The amount of words is usually in the guidelines section before the homework questions, but there are some cases in which it is stated beside each question. For the roleplays there is always a different wordcount, take note of that! Here is a quick guide of which class has which minimum wordcount rule (not including specific questions or roleplays), also take note that new profs sometimes change the rules:Graci Laren wrote: 5 Apr 2025, 17:21Thank you Avery! I was pretty sure that was the case, but I wanted to be extra sure because I've run into some point deductions because of word counts.Avery Gray wrote: 5 Apr 2025, 17:17If there is not a word count specified in the rules or after the question (an example being 300 word minimum RP), I don't think there are any other word counts. To reiterate, if there is no word count specified, then there is no word count. Hope this helps!Graci Laren wrote: 5 Apr 2025, 16:49 There's no word count for the questions, correct? (as in if I don't have, say, 20 words, then points will be deducted)
-Charms: at least 50 words
-Potions: only word count if specifically mentioned beside question
-Transfiguration: not mentioned, aka only word count if specifically mentioned beside question
-DADA: at least 50 words
-History of Magic: beside question
-Astronomy: at least 15 words
-Herbology: at least 30 words
-Flying: at least 30 words
Hope this helps!

Hope this helps!(I didn't mention the subjects taken above my year as I have no way of knowing their guidelines yet)
Yes, thank you, that's really helpful, and no problem I wouldn't have needed those classes yet anyhow:)

Questions
Hello Professor,
I had two quick questions.
1. For the Glass to Sand spell, do we assume that the glass was created with a Transfiguration spell from sand, thus making it Untransfiguration ? Or do we assume it was made using Muggle-like techniques, making the spell a Transformation ?
2. For the fill-in-the-blank about what Transformation relies on, I can think of Conjuration / Vanishment as you mentioned in class, but also visualisation / concentration like for most spells. Any advice ?
Thank you in advance !

Questions
Hi,
I had my transfiguration homework graded around 4-5 days back, so I wanted to know if it has been graded, does that mean I learns the spell of that lesson? And if I do learn it, then where can I see the spell?

Questions
Once your homework is graded, you should receive the spells from that assignment in your trunk. You can see the spells you’ve learned under books in your trunk. Once you have a spell in your trunk, you are free to say you’ve learned it and can RP with it.Julia Evans wrote: 13 Oct 2025, 08:44 Hi,
