The other Hufflepuff introduced herself as Veda, and Emmy took mental note of this, looking at her light brown hair and big brown eyes, a similar shade.
Scanning the paper, Emmy's eyes found their way to Question 3, which stated, "What should you never use the Mending Charm on and why?" Emmy was about to open her mouth to reply, but Graci beat her to it, explaining her answer. In response to this, Emmy arched her eyebrows, in a feeling that was a mixture of amusement and judging. Not wanting to verbally agree with Graci, Emmy did nothing, hoping this came across as a silent agreement.
Glancing again at Mikey, she realized she hadn't personally interacted with him. So as a result of her not-so-good mood she gave him a curt nod. On another day, she would have welcomed him kindly, but today was not the day for that.
Emmy wondered what they would all do now that they had figured out the answer to the question. She felt the awkwardness in the air rising, and she frantically thought of a conversation starter to break the ice.
"Did you guys get into the house you wanted? Or did you not have any specific preference?" Emmy asked, addressing all of them.
She said this while beckoning to her Hufflepuff robes. For the most part, Emmy had met only Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors so far. She hadn't interacted with any Slytherins, and Mikey was the first Ravenclaw she'd had some sort of interaction with. If you count that nod she gave him. But that didn't really count. It had been so slight he probably didn't even notice.

Mikey set his things down on the next table over from the three girls as they exchanged pleasantries and introductions. Graci had long brown hair and very pretty eyes. She was also the tallest of the three. The girl Emalyn was also a little taller than average and also had wavy brown hair and brown eyes. She looked like she was mad or upset. Not necessarily with him, more like the day wasn't going her way and she was fighting the the day back. The third girl was named Veda, she was the smallest of the three brown haired girls and had had eyes that reminded Mikey of a fawn.
During there introductions Graci gave them the answer to question three. "Ah yes, question three, uhm, well, just things that you wouldn't fix with this kind of magic, right, so, as Ms. Fresnel said, anything living, so like plants or people." The group was receptive to the comment and all seemed to be in agreement with Graci's answer.
Emalyn looked at Mikey and and gave him an abrupt nod that didn't help his nervousness at all. He was still pretty sure she was not directly mad at him but thought it best to treed lightly around her. There was a short pause that was building into an awkward silence when Emalyn asked if they had gotten into the house they wanted or if they had a specific preference. Mikey hadn't really thought about it before. He just accepted it for what it was and left it at that. "I think if I got to choose I would still have chosen Ravenclaw. How about you Veda?" Mikey said honestly. Curious and excited to hear if the girls had landed in the house they wanted or not.
