@Graci LarenEnglish หยฐ๐ผยฐห ThoughtsTrudging up the seemingly endless staircase was the last thing Eulalia wanted to do after supper in the Great Hall. All she wanted to do after her long day of school and homework was to go back to her Slytherin Dormitory and flop onto her comfy bed. She mumbled a few grumpy curses to herself as she continued to daydream about her bed in the dorm.
It wasn't that she hated the class or the subject, quite the opposite. When the time was right, meaning not on an evening after a particularly long day, she enjoyed learning about what lay in their sky and universe, but now was most definitely not the right time.
Suppressing a yawn at the top of the staircase, she entered the classroom, setting her stuff into a cubby before dragging a cushion a decent distance away from all the others. She didn't feel like socializing with any of her housemates or anyone else for that matter. Sitting herself into the plush seat, Eulalia suppressed another yawn as she watched her peers slowly trickle in, all beginning to take a seat on their choice cushion as they waited for class to begin.
Soon enough, the trickle of students slowed, and a clock chimed in the distance, signaling the time. Their lesson began shortly after. A rather quick lesson before the professor got into explaining a project. Listening carefully, Eulalia didn't seem to have an issue with the task the professor was assigning them, carefully planning out in her mind exactly what she was going to do. Her ideas crumbled in front of her as she heard the word partner.
She heard the groans of annoyance stemming from the majority of the class, and it was an effort for her to not join in when the professor told them their partners had been picked for them. "Absolutely fantastic." she found herself muttering sarcastically as she waited to hear her name read off the list.
She stared at the floor, a bitter expression on her face as she listened and listened, finally hearing her name paired up with a Graci Laren. Picking her head up, she scanned the room, her cold eyes working to connect with the girl she was forced to be working with.

Graci thought it was odd that they had a class in the middle of the night, but then again, they were studying the stars so it made sense.
Ugh, it's the worst when you know why but are still annoyed.
She glanced up at the remaining stairs, sighing and trudging along, passing some of her peers, and some of them passing her. Looks like it's gonna be a full class, but then again, the classes are usually full.
The classroom was full of sleepy students, yawns sounding every few seconds. She found an empty spot and sat down ready to learn because otherwise she would be figuring out how to sleep without getting caught. Other students seemed to already be contemplating that.
Zoning in and out, trying to pay attention, she vaguely heard the professor say something about partners. She perked up a bit. Not because she was always glad to have a partner to work with, which she wasn't, but because social interactions are better than falling asleep mid lesson.
"Blah, blah, blah, Eulalia Vasilios and, ah, Graci Laren... blah, blah, blah." Was all Graci heard.
Eulalia Vasilios, huh. A vaguely Greek sounding name. Wonder where she's sitting. I feel like I've heard of a Vasilios in Slyherin.
Her eyes locked with a girl across the room, Graci mouthed, 'You're Eulalia?' and started to pick up her stuff. She figured that even if the girl wasn't Eulalia she'd still have to find her anyway.

@Graci LarenEnglish หยฐ๐ผยฐห ThoughtsAfter a moment of searching, Eulalia locked with the brown eyes of a Gryffindor girl. Her steely honey-brown eyes watched the girl for a moment, reading her lips, then sending the girl a stiff nod from her spot on the cushion. Eulalia watched the girl, whom she assumed was Graci, as she began to pick up her items in preparation to find her way to the young Slytherin. Around her, tired voices became more enthusiastic as her classmates met up with their partners, eagerly discussing their ideas and plans for their own project.
When explained, the project seemed rather simple. Over the course of a week, they would observe and make note of the constellations seen in the sky before creating a functional planisphere, labelled with major stars and constellations observed.
Eulalia's eyes found the floor again. She wasn't fond of partner projects. She would fare just fine on her own, and a majority of the time, her partner would just end up dragging her downโsomething that she couldn't afford to have happen.
Eulalia eyed the Gryffindor girl as she approached, her eyes narrowing as she tried to get a good read on her, muttering to herself sarcastically. She didn't want to deal with an assigned partner. She just wanted to go to sleep and figure out the project on her own.

Graci picked up all her stuff into her arms, doing it in such a way so as not to drop anything.
As Graci approached the girl she found her muttering to herself, what exactly, Graci couldn't hear. But she assumed not anything great. Though everyone was a bit tired, Graci couldn't blame her.
"Hello, you must be," Graci tried to remember the name the professor called out before hers, "Eulalia? I'm Gracilia, nickname me as you please." She smiled, but it was a soft and tired one.
Plopping down next to this girl- Eulalia- she spoke again "So, planisphere, that's a bit of a fun word, isn't it, though it sounds much weirder in Greek. Like, who just goes around saying ฮตฯฮนฯฮตฮดฯฯฯฮฑฮนฯฮฑ planisphere?"
When Graci started thinking about the lesson, she immediately got the song 'counting stars' in her head. That would become quickly annoying, to her and everyone else up here, if she didn't think of something else.
Welp, too late.
This would be a long class, doing this for multiple nights would be horrible. Not just because there were so many sleep deprived kids, but since this girl already seemed to be annoyed with her and she hadn't even done anything.
"Let's get to work, shall we?"

@Graci LarenEnglish หยฐ๐ผยฐห ThoughtsEulalia watched as the Gryffindor girl introduced herselfโnothing Eulalia didn't already knowโand unceremoniously settled into the cushion beside her, her knee almost ramming into Eulalia's own. She resisted an annoyed sigh and rude remark as she schooled her expression into practiced indifference, her eyes cool and uninterested as Graci began to ramble on about the word planisphere. She blinked as Greek, of all things, tumbled off of Graci's tongue. Interesting and... unexpected.
Eulalia didn't bother to answer Graci's question, letting the silence fill with the tired chatter of other students. She broke the silence between them with an irritated exhale. Finally, Eulalia decided to build off of the girl's prompt. Not for her sake, but because she had a project to complete, and Eulalia refused to earn anything other than perfection.
"Alright then. Observing shouldn't be a difficult task. But for the planisphere, we'll need a ratio balance of the constellations so they're proportionally accurate." she started, already gathering a few supplies from her bag and explaining her other ideas, highlighting which constellations she'd record. "I'll do this half."
Flashing Graci a small, mostly fake smile and leaving no room for argument, Eulalia took her supplies and stood up from the cushion, weaving her way around other partnered duos to the telescopes to begin recording and observing the constellations.

Graci was not amused. She was just trying to be nice, just trying to lighten the mood. But she supposed it was far too late for that anyhow. People were tired and just wanted a calm night under the stars. She could respect that, of course, so she just stopped talking and listened to what Eulalia had to say.
She has a beautiful name. Though she'd probably get annoyed if I told her that. She'd probably get annoyed at half the things I'd say. Or she's just naturally guarded, doesn't like overly talkative people in general.
The other girl seemed set on being in charge, but Graci had always been more of a follower than a leader, lucky for her. But she was determined to make Eulalia dislike her less. They didn't have to be friends, by any means, but this annoyance was getting kind of annoying.
"Well alright then." Eulalia seemed to know what she was doing. Graci had listened, of course, but it was glaringly obvious that she hadn't listened close enough. Or perhaps Eulalia already had some knowledge of astronomy. I'll have to do some reading on this. I hate being uneducated. And stars are interesting so it shouldn't be too boring. At least I hope not.
