Stage 11b - Student Files

STAGE 11: STUDENT FILES

You had no idea who those two students were, but they were pretty strange. You might have asked a few friends or acquaintances about the pair. They never gave you a name and when you asked around, nobody else seemed to know who they were either. The best some could offer was - yeah I think I saw them hanging around the halls, the great and small hall, sometimes the basements.

Note: If you have a friend you want to take with you, you can add them here and their stats can help you in this chain. They would need to post with you.

You decide to go to the Headmaster's Office. Professor Solomon Lear, as reclusive as he might be, it was probable that he could identify any member of the student body. The real question was - would he? You might need to weave a tale of bullying, give him a reason to identify the duo, but you would not have the chance to even try. The office was vacant, well, there was nobody in there, but the office seemed to be... redecorated.

It was pinker than you would have expected. Floral curtains with lacy trim. Portraits of cats and porcelain decorative dishes placed with care on the walls and on any flat surface the decorator could find. It was like a grandmother's china closet had barfed in the headmaster's office.

You see a small pile of packages in the office. It appears that the staff had intercepted some student packages. These packages are piled on the headmaster's desk unceremoniously. None of them were addressed to the headmaster.

You did not have time to mind any of that. This could be an opportunity. You no longer had to ask, you just needed to LOOK.

Your next step depends on your stats:

Wisdom: 10 or under (combined if you are doing this with a friend)

You do not find anything that helps you. With festering concern and confusion you leave the headmaster's office → Go to Stage 31

Wisdom greater than 10 or possession of the ability Keen Eye (combined if you are doing this with a friend)

Adults seem to think that by putting important papers in a drawer that they would remain both safe and hidden. In truth, the papers were neither. The drawer was locked, but use of the unlocking spell, lockpicking knife or a good kick (strength of at least 15 individually or combined) would open the drawer. If you have none of these three or are unwilling to commit crime → Go to Stage 31 or Stage 88

If you are willing to commit crime and have the unlocking spell, lockpicking knife or a good kick (strength of at least 15 individually or combined), you discover the contents of the drawer. There is an array of photographs, many of these students appear vaguely familiar but you cannot place how or why. Take the files → Go to Stage 23 [Note: Only one (or a pair) student(s) can find the files, so the rest would find an open, empty drawer. You would need to go to stage 9 or 24, sorry.]
