Avery didn't know how to respond about his comment about dancing. Honestly, the only other person she had danced with was her cousin, Dylan, and even then it was just a silly dance when they were little kids. Avery could barely even remember why they had danced. Their grandparents had probably put on some kind of muggle song that made them happy. "Well, to be honest, I've never actually danced with anyone besides my dad. Though, I did dance with my cousin once when we were little, but it was just for fun and not formal at all." Avery laughed a little as she remembered that day. It was an embarrassing memory, but it was also a happy day for Avery. After she laughed, she sat there in shock for a moment. When had the last time been since she had really laughed? Avery couldn't even remember. Maybe she would actually feel better and be happy enough again soon, or maybe this was a one time thing? Either way, she didn't know. Avery thought that Dennis was lucky to have siblings. Growing up, she had been an only child. The only person that was close enough to pretty much be a sibling to her was Dylan. Though, she hadn't actually talked to him since that day. She hoped she would see him at the ball. She really needed to tell him what was going on with their grandfather. She just didn't have the right words to say at the moment. "I'll have to ask my dad if I can go since I think my cousin and I are going to Wales, but that sounds like fun! Maybe I could drop in for a day or two before heading to my grandparents!" That thought alone lifted Avery's spirits a little more.

Dennis smiled as Avery recounted her memory of dancing with her cousin. At least she had some kind of happy memories. It was nice to know that not everything was going poorly for her at al times. Her laughter was sweet to his ears, and a pleasant surprise after their pattern of running into each other after bad news. However, the merriment didn’t last long as she seemed to stop and just kind of sit there and stare. He was growing increasingly concerned for her well being.

He even tried to bring up his family and the possibility she might come over to his house during the spring break. He had given up hope he’d get a response to any of it when she finally answered and it was a great answer at that! She wanted to actually come! He just knew his mother and Lizzie, his oldest younger sibling, would be able to help Avery far more than he could! Dennis beamed once again and said “Let’s make that plan! I am sure they will have a great time with you!”

Dennis got up then and gave her a thumbs up. He needed to get back to his studies and he was sure that he’d get to see her again soon! “Hey, listen,” Dennis said, stretching, “I gotta go back to doing some stuff. But I really look forward to seeing you during spring break! Chin up and I will see you soon!” He said playfully as he gave a final nod and walked off back to the library.
