Feeling Batty
It'd been a few days since he'd made the gift. Though after making it to his own room after that whole situation he'd ended up making a few small changes, taking a few days to fix them up before actually sending the gift to Bea. He'd just finished sending the gift along with a hastily written letter made the night before when he'd realized how late the gift would be if he kept waiting to send it.
The whole thing had him thinking about when he'd just finished the gift a few days before then.
Surprisingly enough. He'd not seen so much of a glace of either girls he'd left behind in his haste. He knew that the houses were a bit separated when he first came here but he'd just started to really understand how separated they all were based on schedules. Then again. It might've been easier if he'd actually known the second Hufflepuff's name. So far she was still Huffpuff in his head and apparently he was Gryff to the huff. Fitting if he dare say so himself.
Elsian felt bad about the whole thing. Especially when leaving the rest of those bats to Logan. Yes he'd been about to offer her one but he hadn't meant to dump three of them on the Hufflepuff! Granted, the entire situation was hilarious now that he looked back on it. At the time? Mortifying. Now? Not so much.
It helped that Logan had obviously been good on her word.
With the gift sent he got ready to leave. Grabbing his bag that still had one of the bats as he'd decided he might as well keep the third since Bea didn't need two of the same gift. Though he paused, an amused thought popping into his head as he drew the tiny black bat from his bag. Propping it up atop the edge of the windowsill.
Somehow it looked perfect there. Kinda real with the way the light hit it at an angle and he contemplated leaving it there. A sharp smile gracing his lips when he snickered at the image of some poor fool seeing it when it got darker because for how it looked now, when it got dark the thing could look creepy with how it blended into the shadows.
Shaking off the thought he picked it up from it's perch, putting it away again because he wasn't that cruel. What if someone dropped their letter over the side because of the prank? That was no good.
"Ones better than six anyways."

Logan slowly walked up the steps of the owlery, a messenger bag across her shoulders. She for once didn't have her robes on, but only a rose gold sweater and a pair of dark blue jeans. Her hair was left to flow down her back freely instead of being in a side braid.
The young Hufflepuff had tried to find Elsian for a few days now, but was unable. Only after asking around had she heard where he might have been. Going up to the owlery was a stretch, but the eleven year old knew that she needed to return the little stuffed animals that the Gryffindor had made. Logan made it to the top of the steps and huffed slightly, but realized that someone was actually in the owlery.
"I guess asking around did help me find you," Logan stated as she saw that the person in the owlery had been who she had been looking for this whole time. She didn't have any classes with him, so it wasn't like she could have returned them then either. She wouldn't have anyways, it would have embarrassed him way too much.
Logan stepped forwards, her boots making soft thumps against the ground as she walked. She hadn't thought ahead to what she was going to say to Elsian after she found him. Honestly, she hadn't thought she was ever going to find the Gryffindor in the first place, let alone what to do after that.
"You are a very hard person to find, Elsian," she stated as the first thing that came to her mind to say. She had a grin on her face, even though she was not too happy with the way he had treated the other Hufflepuff that day.

Feeling Batty
@Logan BairdElsian whirled around at the others voice, hands braced against the edge of the window edge as he warily eyed the newcomer. He'd met a few people he'd prefer not running into at the moment, one of which he knew...would badger him to make something for her or something of the like so when he saw it was Logan he visibly relaxed.
"Oh- it's just you."
The words were blurted out in a daze and the moment they actually passed his lips he regretted them because even he could hear how rude the tone was.
"Damn- I didn't mean it like that! I just meant-" he bit the inside of his cheek, groaning annoyed as he ran a hand roughly through his hair, pushing back the thick strands from his face. He eyed the ground as she stepped forward, eyes moving up as she moved to stand in front of him. "Just...forget what I said."
"The feelings mutual," he muttered, "you're impossible to track down..." his gaze lowered, bangs falling across his eyes as he toed the ground, suddenly finding the small groves of the flooring so interesting. He couldn't deny he felt bad about how he'd left; a small bit of anxiety clawing at his throat as the words he'd practiced in his head all but disappeared.
"Sorry..." his left hand rose up, a finger resting on his cheek as he thought, finally tearing sea green eyes to look at Logan as his head tilted into his grip. "I didn't mean to dump those toys on you like that. I thought I'd be able to find you but..." he pouted slightly, eyes twisting from distant to accusing slits, "you beat me to it which, really, isn't fair at all." he complained, tone light but obviously still sore over being caught off guard by the other again.
"I had an apology and everything for how I acted and you just ruined it- gone to the wind, all of it. You and your silent feet just robbed you of a heartfelt apology." What was he saying! That wasn't what he'd wanted to- ugh. Why was he so bad at this.
He wanted to scream.
She was going to leave for sure now.

Logan smiled and started to giggle at Elsian's reaction to having missed a chance at an apology. "You are perfectly fine Elsian. I found you and are now able to return the little bats." She simply stated as she pulled the bag strap from around her shoulder to hand to the boy.
She hadn't really thought about what she was going to say after that so she pulled the letter for her father out of her pocket to send off. "Ya know, did you not have to have any etiquette lessons as a child, or have you just forgotten what you learned?" The brunette jokingly asked as she started to reread her letter before sending it off.
Logan remembered her etiquette classes very well, mostly because she snuck out of them so often her aunt would sit down with her so she couldn't leave. She giggled at the memory and shook her head slightly before turning back to the young Gryffindor boy.
"Oh, and I hope you realize that I am not too happy with the way you treated my housemate the other day." When the little Hufflepuff snapped like this, her accent started to show more than it normally did. She didn't want to be mean about it or anything, but he had been rather rude.

"Oh ha ha. Very funny." he drawled giving waving off the others words, "yes, I've had them since I can remember. I've just...not been having the best time recently." he defended.
He pouted slightly, crossing his arms over his waist and fingering the fabric of his robe sleeve when she snapped at him. He still didn't think it had been a big deal and apparently neither did the Hufflepuff from before. She'd most likely seen it for the joke it had been but for some reason no one else did.
Honestly it left a bitter taste in his mouth. Did his voice just sound mean to everyone else or something?
"Yeah, its obvious." he said, watching as she read over something, "still, it was a simple joke. Just a nickname. Honestly does my voice just sound mean to all of you or something?" he questioned, voice tinted with confusion and a hint of annoyance.
It felt like things always went wrong whenever he was around the other children. Maybe he'd gotten too used to using his words as a weapon or speaking like the adults around him thanks to his parents work. It didn't matter really. Either way, he kept messing up where everyone else seemed to be fine.
"I really don't see how calling her Huffpuff was an insult," he admitted softly.

Logan sighed and set down the letter that she was rereading before sending it to aunt. She hadn't wantes to make Elsian feel bad, she just wantes to realize that not everyone likes some nicknames.
"I should be the one apologizing I guess. I shouldn't have just snapped at you like that." Logan kicked her shoe against the ground, little bots of dust flying into the air. "I don't have the best experience when it comes to nicknames so I sometimes get a little snappy when it comes to others."
Logan honestly responded so that there were not as many questions as needed. The Hufflepuff picked up the letter she had sat down and folded it again, placing it into the envelope she had brought with her. She pulled the small bag of bats closer to her, remembering the reason she had come up here in the first place. She held the bag out to him as she startes to tug on the sleeves of her robe nervously again.
The brunette certainly believed that she had really messed things up with this friendship, if that is what she could even call it at this point. She shuffled her feet a little, waiting for him to take the bats from her so that she could send off her letter and leave so he wouldn't have to deal with her anymore.

@Logan BairdHe hadn't expected the other to apologize or anything. Honestly a bit caught off guard by the whole thing he couldn't do more than offer a half hearted shrug at the others words. He frowned slightly, eyeing the way the Hufflepuff kicked at the ground distantly realizing she probably felt just as off about this whole thing as he did. Which was honestly...A relief.
Elsian, a bit lost in the realization was slightly startled when she suddenly held out the bag, confusion twisting his features until he saw the little bats from before and...well, he laughed. He couldn't help it really but could anyone blame him? It just seemed so surreal. She looked so nervous! Which really he couldn't fathom why. Did she think he was upset with her? Angry? He had no idea.
It wasn't a big laugh or anything. But it also wasn't anything like he teasing snickers or disbelieving scoffs either. Just a small light laugh that actually sounded his age. One that usually only Bea could get out of him with her stupid pranks or puns.
Still, he took pity on Logan, taking the bats with a small grin as his laugh tapered off quickly, stuffing the small toys in his bag. He held one of them in his hand though, eyeing it over thoughtfully. He'd be remaking them later, changing them so they all looked different. He was sure of that.
"Thanks for holding onto them." he said, giving the other a grateful smile, he'd enjoy remaking them to look different.
"Um..." he paused slightly, feeling rather self conscious about his gift now. Still, better now then never he reasoned, pulling the small black bat from before out of his bag.
"I actually felt pretty bad about ditching you like that," he admitted sheepishly, "you seemed to like the bats from before and I heard you liked astronomy so..." he trailed off shoving the small toy forward, swallowing down the heat trying to claw up his throat.
It wasn't like he'd done anything grand to the thing but it was still a bit embarrassing since he'd only ever made these things for Bea. It was still the same little bat from before, tiny and black but he'd been able to sew a few constellations onto the inside of the wings with some white thread after hearing Logan actually liked astronomy.
Of course the class he was absolute rubbish at...still, he'd figured stars were a safe bet. Especially after he'd ditched her with the things like that.
"Here..." he finished lamely, dropping the small bat into the girls hand.

Feeling Batty
Logan's eyes widened slightly at the sound of Elsian's laugh. She honestly hadn't expected him to have a sincere laugh but she was more concerned with the fact of whether he was laughing at her or at something completely different. Her pale face turned a tint of red that she wasn't used to as she pulled her sweater closer to her body. She giggled a little bit and shook her head as he took the owls from her and she honestly wasn't sure what was going to happen at this point in time.
The brunette looked up slowly whenever Elsian stopped laughing. Her clear blue eyes widened greatly whenever she saw what was is the Gryfindor's hands. "Oh my gosh.." she muttered as the small little bat was dropped into her hands. "It is so cute," she exclaimed quietly as she looked at the constellations sewn into the wings.
She looked up at Elsian and quickly flung her arms around him in a hug. She honestly hadn't gotten anything with this much thought put into it since her mother had passed away and it made her extremely happy. "Thank you so much," she muttered as she went to pull away from the hug. She hadn't meant to do something like that, but it had been a while since someone had been that nice too her. Logan jumped away slightly, the bat still held in her hands.
"Sorry," she muttered, her face flaming as she turned away from him, "I shouldn't have done that." The small Hufflepuff shook her head slightly, allowing her hair to fall into and cover her face. She was greatly embarrassed now and assumed Elsian wouldn't want to be friends with her anymore because of how straight forward she had been with the hug.

@Logan BairdElsian's whole body flinched slightly at the sudden body thrown against him, arms flailing for a moment as he was thrown slightly off balance. He didn't even have time to think about hugging back before Logan pulled back, barely hearing the words she muttered before she was turning away.
Instantly he had a snarky comment at the tip of his tongue but then he was able to catch the red creeping up her neck and the words died before they even had a chance to leave his lips. He shrugged in lull of a response, refusing to admit he hadn't hated it.
"It's alright," he hummed, shoving his hands into his pockets, "I'm just glad you like it so much." he admitted feeling slightly relieved.
"but..." he bit the inside of his cheek, weighing the words. How did people even make friends? Why was this so hard?
"Would you like to be friends?" he asked, feeling quite silly and yet full of dread the moment the question left his lips. "I understand if you say no..." he quickly added on, suddenly finding the window of the owlery very interesting.
He really couldn't blame her for saying no. He wasn't exactly...the friend type. At least, not compared to all the other kids he'd seen so far. But...she seemed really nice so far...and it didn't look like she totally hated his company like the kids back home.

Feeling Batty
Logan looked up at Elsian whenever he asked if she wanted to be his friend. He was the first person who had actually asked if she wanted to be their friend. She became confused whenever he questioned why she wouldn't want to be his friend. "Why would I not want to be your friend?" she questioned as she looked at him, her head tilted to the left and her hair falling in her face. Logan was honestly confused with this notion of not wanting to be his friend.
"Are there people that do not want to be your friend?" she asked as she moved her hair out of her face and behind her ear again. She would understand it somewhat, seeing as she had very few friends and those friends were all pure-bloods due to her family status. She had a small grin on her face, although there was still a tint of red from her embarrassment after having hugged the Gryffindor earlier on.
The small bat she had been given was clutched in her arms again, held close to her heart where she knew she would feel comfortable and close with the small stuffed animal. For a minute the small Hufflepuff forgot where she was as all should could hear was the hooting of the owls around her and the Gryffindor.
