A Bombastic Relationship
Dale felt the boy's grip on his robe, his first instinct was to run after all this boy had just tried to harm him. But he decided not to after all Hogwarts wasn't a very big school, so Dale would surely encounter this boy again, and he assumed when they did meet again it would not be very pretty.
The boy asked him what he was talking about, Dale could've just answered with a something stupid and made up, but lying didn't seem to work out well for Dale, and the boy seemed genuinely intrigued on just what Dale was talking about. Dale forced himself to calm down, taking a few breaths and taking a look at the boy again, he also seemed much less mad and he actually looked a little calm, in fact, almost all the tension from the room disappeared. The terrible feeling Dale seemingly went away. The boy again told Dale that he wanted the “information”, Dale thought that was a strange way of putting it, but he decided to tell the boy.
"It's a... type of powder that sorta... goes up into flames when you light it on fire, it just takes a bit of rust and aluminum." Dale explained to the boy, he hoped he didn't confuse the boy.

A Bombastic Relationship
Kaegen's eyes, moments ago clouded with anger, took on a gleam of joy, of mischief and possibilities and plans that danced around like so many energetic little sparks. This was no magic potion, no, this was something much more grand, this was something Kaegen had only seen a few times before, and every time it had not failed to astonish him. This was muggle magic, this was a magic that wizards could use but were scared to. This was the magic of single-spell killing wands that looked like the letter L. This was the magic of growling beasts of iron you climbed into.
"You. You can do muggle magic? Honestly? How much fire?"
If this boy could do muggle magic, and Kaegen couldn't, then maybe... Maybe Kaegen could use an ally, a minion. He was done with allies, done with friends. But a minion? In exchange for services rendered, Kaegen would offer some manner of protection and help? That seemed like a pretty good deal, didn't it?
"Are you evil?"
It was probably better to check. Kaegen visibly relaxed, and his mouth twitched upwards before settling where it was before, in a thin neutral line that looked like death. This was hope, this was something Kaegen had been thinking about for quite some time. Muggle fire magic from the corpse of metal itself.

Dale looked at the boy with a confused expression, who was he so interested in this so much, his goal was to bore the boy into leaving not to get him even more interested. "I should work on my lying skills" Dale thought to himself, The boy asked him if he could use muggle magic, well that's on way to put it... Muggle Magic, Dale liked that term. "Yeah, it's really simple, just mix together a few things, as for the fire part, I'm pretty sure the incendio should do the trick." The only issue with that is you have to be pretty close to it to set it off, and Dale was sure he didn't have the things needed to make a starter powder, he doubted he could get his hands on such... mad chemicals.
The boy asked him if he was evil, "What...? No, i-im not evil." Dale said looking at the boy with a confused expression, nothing Dale was doing now made him...evil, he was just creating a dangerous mixture for.... fun? yeah fun, not for any nefarious purposes, but maybe it could be used as a distraction if he ever got caught when sneaking out... not that he did that frequently.

Perfect. This boy was as close to perfect as Kaegen could contrive. He had skills the little ravenclaw did not, was not evil, and seemed too flustered to be much of a direct threat. In short, he was a good potential ally. Kaegen's mind darkened at the word. No, not ally. He had tried to have allies before, it had turned sour, it had vanished and left him nothing. People didn't stay with you, they had no reason to. He had tried everything in his power to keep even a single friend, and had failed entirely. No, if he was going to work with this boy he was going to call it what it was.
"I'm glad. I know I was a bit hostile at first, but I think you could help me. In return, I'll help protect you when you need it. You can be my minion."
The little ravenclaw's face was entirely serious, and he held out a single spidery, ice cold hand to shake. It was a deal he would hopefully profit from, and a deal he certainly intended to honor. A deal with the fens-born child was worth it's weight in gold.
Or at least that's what Kaegen liked to believe.

Dale looked at the boy with a confused expression, had he just said minion if Dale had heard him right, the boy had just told him that Dale could be his minion, maybe he was joking, but he looked so serious. The boy had said that Dale could help him out, and in return, he would protect Dale, but from what.... the only thing Dale needed protection from at this moment was this guy. But Dale thought for a second, maybe this guy just had a weird way of talking, he seemed shady enough, maybe this guy could get Dale the more dangerous chemicals he needed to... have for fun? Dale needed to find another hobby other than causing explosions.
"I'm assuming your offering some kind of partnership? I give you thermit and you protect me? Well if that is the case, I will agree on extra conditions. You will have to get me sine... things I can't really get on campus, can you do that?"
Maybe Dale was quick to trust, but he doubted this guy would rat him out. And if he could get Dale the things he needed it would be a great help. But Dale did wonder what he wanted with this dangerous powder... Good thing Dales motto was "some things are left unclear"

"Not quite. Not just thermite. You help me, and I'll help you. So long as it's fair, we're both happy. A minionage. And yes, I can get out if I have to. Get you things. They don't actually watch the doors, you know. You could just walk out."
Kaegen paused for a second, raising an eyebrow meaningfully
"...Or walk in."
He thought it was pretty obvious what was going on in the school, and around it. But he kept running across people that simply had no idea. This new minion of his was smart in the ways of muggle magic, it was unclear if that intelligence extended to any other field. He would simply assume that his minion was ignorant until proven otherwise. It was important to be clear about information, especially if that information might save a minion's life.
Clear about information, yes. Up front about everything? Not a chance. Just because the minion was now probably going to be helping him did not earn him much trust at all. Just a little, enough to work as a team. Or at least that was what Kaegen was aiming for. His hands scrabbled away into his robe, until he pulled out parchment, quill and a little well-stoppered but stained jar of ink.
Kaegen dropped to his knees, and started to scribble.

Dale thought over what the boy had said to him, this could be either really good or really bad or both... from what Dale picked up, he would help out the boy with... well anything, and in return, the boy would do well... anything for him, sort of a mutal relationship, it was a mutal relationship. The boy had said that he could get Dale the things he needed, he had also said that they don't actually watch the doors... that wasn't Dale's issue, his issue was that the things he needed were... well... let's just say they had to be handled with extreme caution.
Dale decided it was worth giving it a shot, although he doubted he could get out of this, the thought of making big explosions was too much to argue with... "I really need to find a new hobby, fast."
The boy pulled out a piece of parchment and a quill, he crouched down and started to write on the parchment, Dale also crouched down in front of the boy, he wasn't that close so he couldn't make out what exactly the boy was writing. Dale looked up at the boy... he hoped he wasn't making the wrong move.

This can be broken at will, however, all parties must be notified of the intended breaking before the breaking actually occurs. A simple "I would like to break the contract" will suffice. No negative repercussions may be dealt for this act alone. No secrets will be betrayed, no enemies will be joined. Help will be rendered when convenient for both sides. This is signed in good faith, bearing in mind the spirit, not the letter, of this paper.
Kaegen slid the paper across to the Slytherin, after hastily scratching his own name down at the bottom of the page. The document didn't mean a whole lot. It basically just said that they would help each other if they felt like it, but to join an enemy or divulge a secret would not be allowed unless the contract was broken. This was more or less just a slight bit of extra insurance against being betrayed. He didn't believe that the paper would actually stop the other boy from betraying him in a heartbeat. It would simply be a lot less likely.
"Good?]"
Kaegen leaned back, so that he was no longer on his hands and knees, but crouching on the balls of his feet, reaching one nervous hand up to touch his neck, only to pull it back down before it even reached there, catching himself in the subconscious act.

Dale picked up the paper, the contract said Dale could walk out anytime he wanted too and that there would be no negative repercussions, If Dale understood right, they would help each other... if they felt like it. Dale liked the sound of that, with this Dale could get the things he needed and not... sell his soul away. Dale looked at the bottom of the contract, Kaegen was this guys name, Dale sighed, of course, it was. Dale remembered when Eden... no wait it was Elena, had told him about this guys exploits. Well this Kaegen didn't seem that bad, and he could be an invaluable ally on Dale quest to... make a huge explosion, outside, of course, not a single person will get hurt... expect maybe Dale himself, "Worry about the details later." Dale thought to himself.
Dale looked up the boy "Good" Dale said with a nod, he pulled out a pen and sighed his name, it was barely legible... but it would work. He slid the paperback to the boy
"So... What now? Do you need any help right now?" Kaegen did seem interested in thermite, maybe he would like some, Dale had a lot to spare.

The ravenclaw rolled up the paper, and slid it deep in to one of his large, fraying sleeves. That was something he was going to keep very good care of. It was some measure of insurance, some measure that reminded him that the other boy wouldn't betray him. Or at least probably wouldn't. There was still the chance, but the chance was probably smaller now.
"How do you use that muggle magic of yours"
He was referring specifically to the thermite, but it seemed more prudent to cover all the potential muggle magicry under the single heading of muggle magic. This way it gave the other boy room to fill him in on secrets that Kaegen didn't even know he wanted to know. Vague questions were the best, but only with someone who was willing to tell you things. The slytherin hadn't been willing before, but maybe now?
"And your name?"
He had never had an easy time remembering names, they always seemed to slip his mind. But for this practitioner of the muggle arts? Oh, no. He would be sure he had it right. He would make sure he knew exactly who this boy was, what name he went as, everything pertinent.
So many things depended on it.
