"Yes!" Eira exclaimed, "Some house-elves are working in establishments, but there are some who have served a family for generations. Mitzy, for instance, had served the Von Thaines for five generations before she left with my mum."

She then pondered the names that Sadie had provided: "Galadriel and Legolas? I haven't met them. Are they from a certain family?" Eira had met others, like timid Bimms, Mrs. Bluebelle's aging house-elf, and Toffee, who was the Beauregarde's.

Though the names Galadriel and Legolas sound so elegant, they might be employed by one of the Pureblood clans that has a higher standing. Maybe she can ask dad to check their family tome that magically adds every member and see if their branch family might know the elves with those names.

The skeptical smile on the blonde's lips made Eira pause, pointing out that the incantations are bit too literal and mentioning a chant that eerily sounded like the 'Sunshine, Daisies, Buttermellow' recitation that had been passed around between students for years as a joke.

"For spells, I certainly haven't heard of an incantation like Bibbity bobbity. Unless it's a joke spell you can get from Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. But what my tutor had told me is that it's in Latin because of the connection of magic with the dead language. I suppose that when creating a spell, they chose ancient Latin as it's more direct. I suppose"

Merlin, she hoped she was not leading Sadie in the wrong direction. Thankfully, she hasn't asked anything about potions or bits of magical plants. Eira's absolutely pants on those subjects.

But when Sadie implied that she was teasing about kelpies, it made her pause. Do muggles not know that they exist? They were responsible for almost all the cases of missing people, especially in Ireland.

"Yes, they do," she answered in a careful tone, hoping that Sadie knew that she wasn't lying or at least teasing her for personal entertainment.

"I don't know much about magizoology or animal husbandry, but the Cravensworths have been breeding them because kelpie hair can be used for wand cores, although they aren't as good as unicorn hairs and phoenix feathers. Only adults can approach kelpies, they have a nasty reputation of drowning people if they're untamed. I think my great-grandfather lost a sister because a wild kelpie got her."

She answered before adding a fact that she found out after reading her copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

A bit of light reading before bed, though it was because she was trying to find a chapter about thestrals and runespoors.

"And aren't they famous in the muggle world? I think they called a male kelpie the Loch Ness monster or something, but it's just my ancestor's pet kelpie Ryon who had a nasty temper, according to his journal at least."

Looking around, the shop is steadily being filled with other customers, mostly those who are loads more interested in the merchandise than the two. Mum still hasn't checked in with her by sending a paper plane, so she figured there is still more time to chat and maybe look around Diagon Alley in a more appropriate setting.

Maybe Fortescues or check the Magical Menagerie? But Sadie might be here to get her Hogwarts school supplies, and she's just keeping her from her task? Hmmm, maybe she can ask and see.
