Getting lost.

Today was like any other day, the air was warm and the corridors were stock full of students. Adam found himself way off course from his current path towards Herbology. He had followed a few students who seemed to know their way, his mistake was trusting them blindly to take him to Herbology without even asking. It seemed they were going to Defense against the dark arts class. Which was a total misstep on his part. Ah well, he had hoped to learn something from Herbology today. He took one step into the class and learned right quick this wasn't the place he needed to be.

So he left that class as it wasn't his to be in, he sighed to himself. "What am I doing wrong? Blindly walking behind students? Yeah that's it." he'd adjust his tie and crack his neck as he started to walk aimlessly down the corridor. "I should invest in a map when I can. Yeah that'll help me get around for sure.. If I can even follow a map." He'd laugh at himself and ran a hand through his shaggy hair, letting it fall over his forehead. He wondered to himself what he'd be doing in Herbology class this time.

Was he going to learn how to make a healing potion? That'd be handy, it would help in his dream of becoming a healing wizard. Learning the recipe, he'd take down the notes in his special journal. But now wasn't the time to be stuck wondering where to go. He just had to find someone willing to help him find the way, that was a surefire way to get to class on time. He had given himself an extra hour to find his way to the class before it started so he wouldn't be late. he wanted to impress his teacher by showing up early so he took this precious time to get the layout of the school under wraps.

Days of being a simple muggle were over, today, this year was the era of magic for Adam. He wanted to learn every spell, every kind of magic possible no matter how dark it may be. He had too much potential as a wizard, he wasn't going to be the typical muggle born in his eyes. He wanted to see greatness, and greatness he will have no matter how many failures it may take. Anyways for the time being he started to look around with a look on his face that spelt that he was lost for anyone that may find him. He scratched at his neck oddly and frowned. "Man I'm never finding Herbology class, could've sworn I've taken a class there before but I guess I just can't remember for the life of me." he had this habit of talking to himself when he thought he was alone. Maybe he came off as a bit strange to the other students and professors but he didn't care. He was his own person and allowed to do as he pleased so long as it wasn't breaking any rules.

First thing he was going to ask the teacher when he got there was how to brew a healing potion and what the recipe might be. It would help to have a potion like that on hand in case someone got hurt by a bully in this school.. That said he hadn't met anyone who seemed like a bully just yet. Either everyone was used to being a victim of those circumstances or they were none existent here. The latter would be preferred but never know, some students stand out and others may not take a liking to that. Anyways he was sorted into Slytherin which was pretty neat, it was his favorite color so it worked out just right for him. The snake might be a little much, as an animal he would've preferred Gryffindor's lion over the snake but he guessed there might be a history for the snake. Oh he knows what to do now.. Ask some of the professors about the history of Hogwarts or check his book for that matter. There must be something on what the snake represents. Cunning? Trickery? It must mean something. He hadn't the time to check all his books yet except for when he was in class. He was too busy getting to know the layout of the land.

But getting the layout of the land does not always mean one can remember where they are. It was a big castle, one place the the teachers and headmaster warned them about was the forbidden forest and it was off limits. Guess it was called the forbidden forest for a reason eh? He made sure to never leave the grounds and head into the woods. He did wonder where the kitchens were and if he was allowed to cook there for his own meals. He was so used to cooking his own meals that having them made for him seemed like a dream come true. His parents weren't abusive by far but he was always happy to take a load off of their work in taking care of him. it just came down to doing dishes he wanted there help. Unable to reach the sink kinda stinked but ah well. He was happy with his family and happy they let him go to this school once his owl came flying through the window. Maybe he'd invest in getting his own owl one day to send them letters to tell them just how he was doing in this school. Maybe leave the part about getting lost out of it..
