It had already been a tiring and eventful morning, awoken early in the dawn by the gentle kicks and stirrings of the life growing within hours before being required to aid in the designing of the arena alongside Atlas. Pregnant or not, the horticulturist would put her students’ needs first as it was an honour to the Toussaint woman to work with her pupils side by side, observe and test their knowledge, as well as build their vision from the ground up. This would be the very reason Sarai had dove headfirst into assisting with the Summer Camp committee a year before, the upcoming ball, and any opportunity in between if given the chance. Had it not been for the achingly cold in the air, the woman would have enjoyed the task even more so, but still, Scotland was beautiful in its own right.
She never had to own a coat or face such frosty temperatures before in the Caribbean; however, her experience as a professor was well worth the biting temperature for such opportunities to express her creative endeavors as this. It took days of discussion between the shaman and the young Slytherin, then hours of careful crafting, mapping, and spellwork on the day of to summon the maze and obstacles, all before the sun would rise and attendees arrived. Her own personal flair and touches being the swamps that much represented the mangrove swamps that surrounded her village and acted as a secondary abode for her rootwork, the dueling platform decorated in runes and veves, and whatever else Atlas was unable to conjure up himself as a second year student.

The whole dueling arena and labyrinth were quite imposing indeed, so was the desired intention for the participants as well as onlookers at a distance. Sarai would remain seated cozily under the enchanted tree in the bottom row of the spectator stands, occasionally cooing at the swell of her stomach, amid waiting readily with refreshments, homemade snacks, her wand, and remedies in the circumstance any first aid would be required should things go awry as they often did at Hogwarts.

Just as the first were to arrive, the woman nodded in greeting and allowed Atlas to remain the host of such an event.

Was it the excitement or the thrill of danger that brought Raizel here? Perhaps both. For someone that had been so timid and nervous during her first year in Hogwarts for about a week or so, one wouldn't have thought she would turn into a daredevil that would gladly put herself in dangerous situations to test the limits of her own capabilities. It was not that surprising that after hearing from Atlas Anderson that there was a ‘thrilling’ game that he’s hosting, she would want to go and even had the mind to participate in it. But she had to set aside the idea of joining as a participant this time. While she was wary of her own luck and even her own insufficient skills and abilities, those weren't the primary reasons why this time.

It was more so she could observe and study the tactics of others as well as simply being someone available to help out if things get a bit out of hand. While confident that no professor would let this game take place without proper supervision and surely enough, an adult would be watching it, she still thought that an extra hand would come in handy. She was getting used to this whole Prefect thing, or at least, her own vision of what a Prefect should be by not simply being a role model and rule abider, but rather, someone that can be relied on and help out those who find themselves in sticky situations. Still, the position doesn't seem to fit her at all if she keeps on breaking the rules she's supposed to be enforcing.

And speaking of adults, when she arrived, the familiar figure of a certain Herbology Professor caught her eyes. It made her pause and wonder. For a game like this, she was expecting the Charms or even their Professor for DADA to be watching it, but looking at the maze and possibly the ‘obstacles’ scattered within it, she understood why she would be there. It made sense for Professor Toussaint to be here to oversee this whole event. Now, over to the participants. She can't say she knows them all. Okay, she barely knows them and if she knew their names before, she had forgotten about it now except for one. Seeing Dennis there along with other participants made her raise an eyebrow. One, the boy didn't strike her as someone who would immediately participate in a game that was full of danger. Two, she didn't know he was interested in duelling. To her, the boy was just this happy-go-lucky person who would rather do fun and safe things than thrilling challenges. Well, he sure made a different impact on her now. Never knew he had it in him.

That aside, she had other things to take care of. “Greetings, professor.” It was common courtesy to greet the people you meet although that may sound a bit stiff and formal. She was within the presence of a professor so it was only natural for her to use such tones. That or her interactions with sophisticated Purebloods had affected her. Raizel grimaced in her mind at the thought of losing the casualness that she has so she sure hopes not and it was merely a show of respect to the one before her. Well, the Professor wasn't someone that she had any chance to interact with outside of class that much yet. Class wise, she holds an interesting subject, one that she had no troubles with. With a mother who loves Herbology so much and lets her help with their small garden back at home, it became one of those subjects that were easy to pick up although she has a lot yet to learn. “I hope you don't mind me watching. I heard about this from Atlas so I came to check it out.” She continued with a soft smile on her face.

With that said, the Gryffindor remained close enough to hear the professor’s response, standing there as she viewed the grand stage of the game that's being held, the battlefield where only one winner shall rise. With the participants being those from younger years, she was not expecting to see fancy spells like the ones she always see on the duelling piste. She's more looking forward to seeing what they do when faced with situations that they don't usually find themselves in. Just thinking about those somehow made her wish she had accepted the offer to join in the challenge but she was dealing with her own troubles, her own… inferiority and her wavering confidence in her spell casting. She knew she couldn't do this with a troubled mind. First Year her would've jumped in immediately without a care in the world other than the challenge before her. She would march into the fray with that wide and determined grin on her face, her trusty wand in hand. She would laugh at the face of danger and cast away the fear of failing. No matter what happens, she would move forward with new experiences, may them be bad or good.

That smile never left. Reminiscing about those times somehow brought joy to the usual melancholic vibe of hers. She wished for that part of her to be back, to stop obsessing about wins and loses. To stop proving her worth and be acknowledged by a person who doesn't give a damn and to not let her bad luck keep pushing her down to the deepest depth before it becomes harder to climb out of. They are not worth the trouble… right? But up until now, those were her drives, what kept her going. To improve and catch up, those were her goals. So if she stops her obsession, what would be left of her? What can she use as fuel? She doesn't know but she wants to find the answer to it. That will be something she could ponder when she sits somewhere quiet. For now, it was best to forget about it and perhaps cheer for the participants, specifically, Dennis since he's the only one she knows. Then again, she's not the type who would go yelling: Hey! Good luck. Oh no, she was more of a silent supporter and she wouldn't want to disturb their professor when she might be enjoying the quietness before things started getting hectic.
