With the afternoon reaching it's peak, the castle Grounds transformed into an enchanting garden as it would have once been many centuries ago. Upon arrival, the Garden of Eden appears far less bustling than the atmosphere within the fortress, providing our dear patrons with an escape from reality and a well desired breath of fresh air. Despite the vast difference to the Spring Soirée, the Garden of Eden has more of a serene atmosphere, much quieter than the loud medieval music echoing in the Great Hall, which could be heard even into the Grounds, despite a melodic tune consisting of flutes and a harpsichord playing in the background — lulling our patrons into brighter spirits as they ascend further into the garden.

Appearing as an open banquet to all patrons, with a long stone table centrepiece filled with more than adequate selections of pastries and the finest fruit found within the kingdom. Scattered on the table, our patrons will find an array of silver plates crafted by the best silversmith; containing a range seasonal tarts filled with various fruits such as apple, blueberry, cherry, peach and strawberry peach, cherry, strawberry, along with simple strawberries and cream filled puff pastries — baked by the best chef in the village. A selection of imported fruits may also suit the tastes of our dearest patrons, straight from the Mediterranean, bowls consisting of grapes and in-season berries would be found located next to sweet figs and citrus fruits; offering our patrons a refreshing assortment of sweet treats, perfectly suited for the Garden of Eden. As for refreshments, five various red drinks are offered — ranging from pomegranate juice, plum and grape juice, blackberry and non-alcoholic apple cider, sparkling sharbat and a rose and strawberry mocktail, finely sourced from a top supplier, only the best of the best would be merely adequate for our beloved patrons.

Leading straight from the stone table, a large stone garden folly (gazebo) sits at the center of the newly transformed garden, providing our dear patrons with dates an opportunity to whisk themselves away for a moment of solace with a partner of their choice. Though beware our fellow patrons, you wouldn't want to be caught sneaking a dance without your name found in a prospective partner's dance card, it would be the most scandalous. Outside the folly, an arrangement of seasonal flowers sits neatly in stone plant pots, carved out in adoring medieval geometric designs, simplicity truly in design truly highlighting the assortment of flowers; ranging from azalea's, hyacinths, peonies all the way to pink primroses, magnolia's and a few lily of the valley's. Candles scatter around the garden, awaiting nightfall, desiring nothing less than aiding the serendipity out patrons experience upon their initial stumble into the garden.

Yet, despite the overall inviting atmosphere presented with the garden, something lurks behind the trees, perhaps giving our patrons the feeling of being watched by someone — or, something? Though, do not worry our dear patrons, as the lively bard hymns chime through the garden during daylight, there is very little to fret. The tiles beside the freshly mew grass, awaits various patrons, providing the guests with opportunities to engage in courtly dances; should their names be included in the green and pink butterfly dance cards provided upon entrance and attached to the wrist of each patron.

Upon entrance into The Garden of Eden, each player will receive a "dance card", a RP opportunity for players to engage with. Within the dance card, names of whom your character dances with must be recorded, beware of prying eyes should their names not be found within the dance card and they are dancing with your player, as this would be the most scandalous thing to do.

NOTE: The inclusion of dance cards is solely for a RP opportunity, you are not obliged to comply with this, but should you mention it, please ensure the character your character dances with, was included in the dance card.

Grand seer Maynard had managed to last around five seconds in the noise and bustle of the great hall's soiree before he made his tactical exit out to the gardens. While they had nothing on the vast landscapes of the many wildernesses he had called home, the simple presence of flora and crisp April air eased his growing headache. While not cold out, the British climate was still vastly different to what he was used to and blessed him with some subtle hits of nostalgia from his past travels. A worldly man, to say the least, he had explored near every inch of the continents and until recently he had assumed that would be his life. Foolish he was, to believe seeing fate would ever mean understanding its pattern. Instead, he was now here, in a place he never thought he'd be, in a role he never thought he'd take, for a school he swore he'd never return to. Foolish somehow didn't quite incapsulate it.

Upon arriving, a rather enthusiastic young person thrusted some dainty piece of card at him with likely no notion of who he actually was. Receiving it by force rather than choice he looked with dismay to see a dance card, a remnant of the past that he might've grown up had circumstances been different. Thankfully for the laid back loner, his intended silver spoon had been bent out of shape two generations before and never repaired. His pureblood roots buried a bloodline ago. Still it seemed regardless of his failed legacy, tonight, formality would feast upon him. "Dancing, how wonderful," a deep sigh accompanying the comment that was laced thick with sarcasm, he supposed that's what one does at a ball of course, he just never envisioned himself at one. While the man was familiar with many traditional dances he found himself to be far more inclined to a drunken bush dance atop a table than the romance of a waltz.

Regardless, given that he was more of a chaperone than an attendee he figured he had little need of the flamboyant card, and thus attempted to hand it back. Seemingly, however, the student disagreed, strapping it to his wrist like a noose. So this was how it was to be, Lawrence was hardly surprised. Growing up a seer he had relinquished his control over to fate a long time ago, not without battle, but, inevitably fate always won, and after years of defeat he found peace in that acceptance. For the most part at least. Philosophy aside, Lawrence was at a party so he might as well act like it, meandering his way to the drinks he found a refreshing blackberry and apple cider and clutching into his chest wandered further into the decorated gardens. Sipping it as he walked, relishing in the bitter tang and little, daring burn as it warmed his stomach.

A glint of gold catching his eye Lawrence was drawn to a patch of dazzling magnolias. Crouching down to admire them he found himself thankful that the suit he had dug out wasn't snug, even if not exactly theme appropriate. Having only recently relocated back to the isle he had barely a chance to send for belongings, let alone request an outfit for an event half the world away. Not that anyone was looking anyways, it had been an age since Maynard had dallied in such notions of romance. At the very least, he had managed to create a small pair of pointed ear caps to give himself an elvish charm. Taking in the citrus scent of the marigolds with their subtle spice he drew his wand and with a quick "Diffindo" cut one stem, careful as to ensure the health of the plant. Pinning it into the lapel of his suit he wore the delicate flower with satisfaction, its colour a reminder of his own national flower the, golden wattle. Then much like the flora he admired so he withdrew himself to the edge mirroring those plants in his position as a wallflower.

Avery was excited. She was finally going to go to a ball! Though, she would not being going with a date this time. Avery still did not know why Mateo had stood her up. He seemed like a nice guy, and Avery was excited to get to know him better. That is why Avery decided to not dwell on that. She did not need a date or anyone to make her night fun. She did know that she would be meeting up with her friends and that made Avery's night sound even better. Even though she had been stood up.

Avery put the finishing touches of her makeup as she looked herself up and down in the mirror. She knew the day was supposed to be fun, but she couldn't help thinking about her grandfather. Would she ever see him again? Would he be okay by summer? Thousands of questions whirled in her mind as she checked her dress. She loved the way it flowed and sparkled in the light. She had never seen such a captivating dress before. She was so thankful to her aunt that had sent it to her all the way from America without Avery's own mother knowing. Both Avery and her aunt knew that her mother would not approve and most likely force Avery to do work instead of enjoying herself. That is why she rarely told her mother anything nowadays.

Once Avery was satisfied with how she looked, she made her way down to the grounds where the Garden of Eden was. Dylan had told her to meet him there, and that he would be a little late. Even though her cousin was going to be late, Avery still could not wait to see what would happen. She had heard rumors about what had happened at the last ball. Though she had decided not to go, it still seemed fun. Fun enough that Avery decided to go to the Spring Ball!

Avery froze when she arrived at the grounds. It was a beautiful sight. Sunlight glowed through the plants and flowers placed around the garden. Avery breathed in the fresh air as she glanced around the area. Not very many people were there yet, so she decided to head over to some beautiful flowers and wait for her friends to arrive. Maybe this night would not be so bad after all. Maybe she could even actually enjoy it instead of thinking constantly about her grandfather and how she was going to tell Dylan.

Having this grand event the night before the full moon was unfortunate timing, but Marcus Iwasaki knew all the tricks to keeping his nausea in check. Fresh air was key, which is why he had decided to help chaperone the "Garden of Eden," as the organizers were calling it. It was an interesting thematic choice in his opinion, but it had been beautifully executed. The banquet spread looked quite appetizing (though his stomach in its current state would never allow such indulgence), and the gazebo that had been constructed was a nice centerpiece to this garden area. He accepted the dance card that was thrust upon him on entering, but the clashing color meant he tucked it behind his pocket square neatly out of sight. He certainly wasn't going to be using it.

Marcus used his handkerchief to wipe some of the sweat from his brow; the cool air outside certainly helped, but it didn't completely eliminate the effects the impending full moon held over him. As he tucked his kerchief into his back pocket, he noticed some movement out the corner of his amber eye. A man had just stepped into the wings of the event, much like Marcus had done. A longer glance revealed that it was the new Headmaster of Tenūsa, Lawrence Maynard. Marcus had yet to be properly introduced, but of course he knew who he was and his visage considering the foreign schools had been visiting the last couple weeks.

Marcus wavered on the idea of doing any networking - he wasn't at his best right now, and honestly wanted to just chaperone in peace - but he had been looking for a solid few seconds now and had probably been spotted; it would be rude to do anything less than introductions. With a small smile on his lips, he approached the other man.

"Hello," he greeted, offering his hand to the man. His blended accent of Australian and English became more prominent as he continued, "I'm Marcus Iwasaki, Head of Ravenclaw here at Hogwarts. I just wanted to have a proper introduction before your trip here ends." If the man accepted the handshake, Marcus would then stand next to him so they could both have an uninterrupted view of the Garden while they spoke. "How has your visit been so far?"

Entering the dance with @AngelFyre McCubbin

Friday, 11 April 2025

Knowing there were two locations for the spring dance, one inside and one outside - Simon decided that the weather was far too perfect to be stuck in a castle where they spent most of their hours. It was afternoon, which meant the sun was lowering slowly in the sky and moving towards the west. Often this caused sunlight to become warmer and more intense than morning sun but this dhampir's faerie ensemble would cover enough of his skin to not cause problem.

He smiled brightly as the music came within earshot and he looked over to his date, the most beautiful girl that ever was or would be. She looked absolutely breathtaking in her own golden light fantasy attire. Together they continued to the entrance of the dance.

"Thou art most wondrous in visage, my own loveth," Simon said to her, hoping that he sounded medieval-ish in his speech. He had done his best to study up on it - leafing through some of the copies he had of Shakespeare: Much Ado About Nothing, Romeo and Juliet, Beatrice and Benedick, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and The Tempest. He wasn't sure he actually could become an accurate translator as such, taking his current day lingo into Shakespearean, but he would try his best and knew that she would at least appreciate the attempt.

At the entrance, he stood, admiring the decor and the effort that was put into the dance. How students and staff could make the mundane grounds of the castle (as brilliant as they were but still every-day common place to the students) seem so magical was beyond him. No doubt it took lots of planning, preparation, dedication and time. It was as he was scanning the area that he felt the slightest tinge of something feeling off but he shook it off quickly as slight trauma from last school dances and was determined that he would do everything to make this one be one of the best for he and his date.

They made it through the entrance, both handed a dance card as they entered and Simon observed it. "Lo, there be numerous a realm for diverse names henceforth," he said - meaning that there was multiple spaces for several names. Simon spoke as he brushed his thumb over the first line and moved aside, finding them a place to stand at the table where there were quills to write names but still give space to those entering to find ample room. "I seek not a throng of dance companions, thou alone doth capture mine heart," he said as his eyes lifted from the card to his girlfriend.

He does look a little like Eonaria.
XXXIt was so very unfortunate that Akari had to put away his usual fiery color scheme for this. He had been looking to arrive in a blaze of glory but sadly, the Spring Ball was themed with a spring green instead. Actually, he would've shown up in red anyway, but Akari had managed to overhear that his little cousin was wearing green. What better way to surprise her than to show up in a matching outfit? He grinned at the thought.

XXXHe had even decided to remove his signature red contact lenses, something that pained his heart greatly, but alas, it would clash with his outfit. Akari wasn't only here to make a sneak attack on his cousin, though. He was also looking forward to meeting some of the other Hogwarts students- preferably the duellists! He had recently joined duelling and wanted to see what he was up against for Hogwarts. We have... a painstakingly low number of duellists.

XXXHis sleeves were getting in the way. Akari sighed, pulling them away from his wrists again. Perhaps he should have thought ahead for this...

XXXThe sky was beginning to darken as the sunset, though one could argue that it actually got brighter as the brilliant colors formed. There was a peaceful sort of buzz from the crickets and other critters in the forest, and paired with the music drifting down from the castle, created a wonderful atmosphere. Some people were already milling around the Garden of Eden, which was decorated beautifully. Akari tucked the green butterfly card in his sleeve, scanning the area. He could not see his cousin and the aura she practically radiated sometimes, personality-wise, so she must be inside, then.

XXXAkari stood in the Garden for another few moments, inhaling the scent of the seasonal flowers. This truly was a magnificent place. He would have to come back after visiting the Spring Soirée. After he finished his daily dose of no-thoughts-in-head cellular respiration, he picked up a strawberry-peach tart and made his way towards the castle. Hogwarts looked rather unwelcoming compared to Mahoutokoro, but at least the light and music coming from the Great Hall was warm and bright.

Seemingly the second Lawrence had slipped into what should have been obscurity he found a pair of bright amber eyes watching him from a little ways away. Both clocking the other, Lawrence readied himself for the inevitable introductions that would have to be made. The older gentleman being entirely unpracticed in the arts of formality and polite society felt his body begin to go rigid, an unwarranted response to what would likely be a friendly interaction. Shaking himself off with just enough time, he was immediately brought to a wide smile from the subtle Australian tones of Marcus' accent, stealing his body of nerves.

With a significantly thicker Aussie accent, originating from Melbourne, Lawrence stretched out his own hand woven with intricate black tattoos, that seemingly stretched up above the ridgeline of his blazer sleeve, saying "Ay mate, nice to meet another Aussie across the pond!" As the two men shook in warm pleasantries he introduced himself with less comfort than the other, "I'm, eh, Grand Seer Maynard." Stumbling over it with an eye roll he took his other similarly tattooed hand, rising it to scratch at the back of his blonde curls, cider hooked between his thumb and palm, "Still not quite used to referring to myself as that. You can call me Lawrence if you prefer or Law, most do."

Withdrawing his hand from the shake after an appropriate time he took a swig of his drink and opening his body language up to the rest of the party to keep a watchful eye forced himself to relax under the presence of the other. This was another Aussie after all, with a bright smile still on his face he responded, "The visit so far has been unexpected, I don't really know what I was expecting but a family reunion certainly wasn't predicted. Maybe my third eye's getting rusty! For the most part though Hogwarts is ace, I remember reading about it as a kid, but never thought I'd see it myself." Tapping on his forehead with his knuckles he chuckled slightly at the reference to his foreseeing abilities. The refreshing breeze of the Scottish highlands deserved all the thanks it was having to stop him sweating but at a glance it seemed the same couldn't be said for the other.

"So, head of Ravenclaw, that's impressive mate. What made you choose the Brits over Straya1? I don't think I could hack the cold, I had to go out and by shoes, didn't the thongs2 would be quite appropriate. On that thought nice daks3!" Complimenting the outfit of the other professor who wore navy like it was crafted for him he let the cooling refresh of the cider slip down his throat once more. Hoping that he was at least able to still somewhat resemble a human after so long away, he awaited the others response, the lack of his sociability over the last years weighing on him dishearteningly. A sign he hoped the other wouldn't pick up on.

Lawrence couldn't help but feel somewhat intimidated in his presence, no doubt due to his own inabilities and hermit behaviour. Still the man before him just seemed so put together and he so not. Other than the light sweat, Marcus looked exactly like what a head should, something Lawrence was convinced he would never.

In the past years, Edward had spent way too much time studying mostly by himself, so his parents had been trying to convince him to go to such social activities more often. They had insisted on buying him some new festive robes that fit the Ravenclaw spirit: dark blue robes and a silver-grey bowtie. Even though he was not yet convinced of balls and such, he liked the outfit and decided to give it a try at the Spring Ball.

He had shortly peeked into the Great Hall where the Spring Soirée ball was taking place but it was much too crowded already and he felt self-conscious to join the festivities, so he was trying his luck outside on the Castle Grounds.

As hoped, it was much quieter here and he took a deep breath of the fresh air outside. It was a nice afternoon and the garden looked stunning and magical.
He accepted the dance card with the butterfly on it but wondered what exactly he should do with it? Should he fill it with names of people he would like to dance with or with whom he had or was about to dance? Or would it be filled magically later? Unsure about it, he left it around his wrist but did not do anything with it yet.

Edward spotted the food and walked towards the buffet, trying a few cakes and fruit, which both looked and tasted amazing. He was careful not to overload his plate, not that the other students or professors would think badly of him but he might return later on to take some more.

He then strolled through the garden of flowers and finding a bench to sit and enjoy the food, the afternoon sun and the atmosphere and watching the people who were in conversations and whoever would join the garden later.
He spotted the head of his house, Mr. Iwasaki, who was in a conversation with another adult, whom Edward had not seen before. Maybe a professor from another school?, he thought but he was not sure about it.
He also saw two older students at a table and a younger student who might be waiting for someone. Edward knew none of the students, maybe had seen some in the corridors or at banquets but no interactions yet.

Boram eventually stopped pulling Arno, letting go of his arm as her hands fell to her side. She hummed softly to herself as she looked around, muttering "Так... Где находится этот сад? So... where is this garden?" her eyes narrowed attempting to remember where she had been told the garden would be. "Тут прямо лабиринт...It's like a labyrinth here..." With an exasperated sigh, she turned to look at Arno. "I think we are lost..."

Damn her lack of patience.

Her eyebrows were beginning to furrow in mild annoyance before she noticed a few students walk past them. Her gaze followed them until they turned a corner. Boram hummed and tilted her head, a smile appeared on her face once more. "It seems we are in fact not lost", grabbing his arm once again, she began to walk toward the corner the students had disappeared from.

Turning the corner, her gaze met the rather... calmer atmosphere. "Well... it most certainly is different from the Great Hall..." She looked at Arno again, her smile never faltering as her tone took a more serious whisper, "Кстати, о Большом зале...Speaking of the great hall... You did not answer my previous question."

But knowing you...

Her eyes flickered around, patrons obliviously walking by them, unaware of the mischievous actions the young boy had done moments before. Her voice came out in a low voice, "Слишком много людей... There are too many people..." Boram's attention focused on the table of food momentarily before saying calmly, "I will get us some sweets and beverages so we can go talk somewhere we won't be overheard..."

Boram's hand let go of her hold on him, and she began to walk toward the table. Nearing the table of various assortments, she turned to look back at Arno, unaware of the person she would bump into.

Until it was too late..

"Hurry up Ar-", a small oof escaped her as she felt she shoulder meet something. Turning, she looked up to see someone she had never met before, fuck. Her face turned pink and she took a step back, giving a quick bow as she quickly muttered, "My apologies... I did not see where I was going, sir".

Without giving the green leaf a chance to speak, Boram quickly finished making her way to the banquet table. Her ears burned a bright red, practically already hearing Arno's laughter and teasing.

Fuck... why did I have to bump into an adult out of all people?

"The flower that smells the sweetest is shy and lowly”-

Time had come for the arrival of the spring ball. The lively buzz of the students from neighboring schools and Hogwarts seemed to dance around the grounds of Hogwarts. The faint sound that seemed to slightly over power the sweet melodic sound wafting through the grounds.

The sweet scents of the newly blossoming flowers held a sweet aroma that could lull any child to peace and serenity. The aroma of a variety of fruits and sweets lingered in the area. Sitting upon a vast stone table.

Though the garden-like banquet was slowly growing it felt slightly empty though students were slowly arriving and helping themselves to what they desired to do.

Approaching the entrance to the garden-like banquet Isadora felt her heart race slightly in her ears. Her stomach felt like it was being twisted in a knot. The palm of her hands were slightly sweaty as she clung to the satchel that resided over her left shoulder the light beige leather satchel was slightly decorated with embroidered with seashells and hibiscus flowers along with a few actual wild flowers decorating the straps of the satchel. While Isadora wore a slight beige light brown vintage ruffled dress that was embroidered with a different variety of flowers. The long sleeves flowed down to the young girl's wrist like small little puffballs, while the front of the dress was tied neatly. As her beige dress flowed down close to the girl's ankles like a bulb of a freshly blooming flower. Gently resting against the girls chest was a small silver locket with a light blue hibiscus flower etched onto the locket. While Isadora’s auburn brown curly locks were pulled back in a ponytail with her signature cream colored bandanna while her ponytail was held up with a slight dark teal blue ribbon decorated with freshly bloomed flowers given to the young girl for this occasion from her beloved Aunt.

Isadora took a shaky breath as she dusted the sides of her dress glancing around the vast garden. The sounds of students and professors chattering seemed to buzz in her delicate ears. Though Isadora had to admit she was slowly adjusting to her curse each and every day. Though sounds can be unbearable in loud settings like this. It seemed to be the calm before the storm and she would cherish that for the moment for sure.

Adjusting her satchel slightly Isadora slowly made her way into the banquet garden. As the young girl was stopped by a student who seemed to place a card around Isadora’s wrist. Though she was not entirely sure why she needed a dance card she did not plan on socializing with anyone besides her Tantie, Tito and cousins. Isadora tends to stay to herself though she would not be rude if someone were to approach her just cautious of their actions or their motives.

Isadora nodded politely towards the student that seemed to help her with adjusting the dance card on her small wrist. Slowly the young girl walked further into the garden. Glancing down at the card she grew curious taking in each detail of the delicate looking card. It was beautiful with the green pink butterfly design. Isadora had to admit whoever came up with the design was rather smart; it went well with the spring theme and brought a rather alluring sight to it.

Straightening up slightly the young girl glanced around the garden, her crystal blue eyes caught sight of an array of flowers nearby. Slowly Isadora made her way towards the bushel of flowers bending down slightly taking in the sweet aroma. The different array of flowers caught Isadora’s attention. Even the slight sound of the melodic music drifting around her seemed to keep her nerves slightly calm.

Hogwarts always seemed to keep the girl tense after all the last time she arrived it was not the ideal first time. But the past is in the past, something she had to learn to grow past. But not to forget that was something she knew well.

Gently the young girl touched the petal of a freshly blooming Angel Trumpet the soft light pink petals loomed over as Isadora gently brushed the tips of her fingers against the soft delicate petals.

Getting lost in thought Isadora slowly stood up brushing off her fresh glances around the banquet once more, noticing it was growing a bit more lively. As the young girl thought to herself she decided to head towards the long stone table that held sweets and fruits. Isadora was rather curious and slowly growing hungry figured trying a pastry or something savory would not be of any harm.

As Isadora walked quietly and softly feeling the heels of her white platform heels gently graze the ground with each step the young girl approached the table analyzing what she wanted to try first. Humming softly the young girl gently grabbed a small strawberry pastry as she stayed silent trying it quietly savoring the taste of the soft pastry. A small smile etching its way on her face as she glanced around some more. Her thoughts were wondering if her family had arrived yet or not. Or maybe she should find somewhere to linger about away from the crowd slowly coming into the garden.
