The Mighty Kestrels
Santario, dressed in her school robes emblazoned with the crest of Slytherin, walked down towards the great lake with Kyle DeRook. Although they were on opposite quidditch teams they were still friends and would talk about the sport which normally leads to San just listening to Kyle talk about the games he had seen in person. This fascinated her as she had never been to a professional game and she definitely did not know as much as he did when it came to the subject. This was also a subject Kyle was more than willing to speak about at length and she would, in fact, let him.Permission to Godmode by @Kyle DeRook
Most of what they were saying could not be understood until they had gotten closer to the lake but they could be heard talking while they walked. “Wow, It is really nice out today. Since there is no breeze it is not as chilly as I thought it would be.” San noticed a girl probably about her age sitting by a tree reading but returned her sapphire gaze back to Rook not wanting to bother the girl. “So hold on one of the Kestral players invented the Hawkshead maneuver? That is really cool!” She would stop walking once they got closer to the edge of the lake. “Can you tell me more?” “Muppet-"

As San and Kyle walked towards the lake he was regaling her about his Favorite Quidditch Team. The Kenmore Kestrals. Their grit, their determination, their heart. They were everything a true Athlete should be and honestly he didn't care how many games they lost or what their records were they always fought until the bitter end. It was this that ultimately wont them The Championship against the Magpies...back in 1999. But still! Kyle kept the Daily Prophet article detailing the victory and he read about the game more times than he could count really(granted knowing Kyle he couldn't count *That* high)
-one of the Kestral players invented the Hawkshead maneuver?" the Slytherin girl said.
Kyle's jaw almost hit the floor. ONE of the Kestral players? ONE of the Kestral players? He couldn't Believe what he just heard. "Muppet...It wasnt made by One of the Kestrals. it was made by THE Kestral. Darren O'Hare is the BEST Quidditch player to ever Live! Captain of the Kestrals for Years, and he was asked to captain the Irish National Team Three seperate times! He was a keeper, but Chasers WISHED they could keep up with him. Arm like a cannon and an unstoppable presence on the pitch. They say he even scored goals. as the KEEPER San!" as he continued to gush on and on about his favorite Quidditch player(the guy whose Number he wore a pin of on his leather Jacket, where ever it wound up) he noticed there was a girl sitting on the ground near by. "Oh hey Squirt. Hows it hanging"

San’s eyes widened when Kyle got exasperated about her calling Darren one of the Kestrals. She giggled at him unabashedly as he gushed about his favorite player. Though what really caught her off guard was when he said that Darren might have scored a goal as a keeper. “Whoa, whoa, whoa… Are you saying he scored a goal from his position by the rings?!” the question matched the same enthusiasm that he had been speaking with. Ever since they first met on the training grounds they kept getting together to talk about quidditch and it seemed every time they did he taught her something new.
When Kyle looked over at the girl and called her squirt San’s eyes would narrow just a hare before she looked over at the girl again. Though it would appear that she grabbed her book and was headed away from them now. “Well apparently she can’t appreciate listening to you the way that I can.” She grinned at him playfully. “From the reels, you showed me he is absolutely amazing, honestly if I could end up with the talent that he has in his pinky finger I think I’d be set.” Her laughter rang out over the great lake. That was something else she was thankful for now that that Rook and she had become close friends he had slowly been helping build up her confidence at least when it came to quidditch. He had found a way to inspire a new a new passion for it in her and now she wasn’t as nervous about the upcoming season as she used to be.

Kyle shrugged as the Ravenclaw that was sitting there wandered off. Chances are he was never going to see her ever again so he wasn't too worried about it. He glanced back to Santario and nodded and offered a half grin "Thats what I'm saying! I haven'y found the transcript of it yet but I have heard and read about him Scoring at minimum 30 total points from his position at the Keeper rings. That's three Seperate goals. Once is an fluke, twice is a coincidence, but three times? Three times is Intentional."
Kyle ran a hand through his hair and chuckled slightly as he looked out over the water. Kyle couldn't help but agree that if San could muster up the skill O'Hare had in his pinky she would be an effective Keeper. He had had this exact thought more than once and ultimately it was what made him Decide to not be a Keeper like his Idol. Despite his bravado at his own skill, Kyle was afraid he could never live up to a fraction of what Darren could do. So instead of trying and failing he decided to become a Beater. That way even if he never became great he didn't have to shoulder the extra shame of letting his hero down.

“That is crazy! Well, maybe we can try to find it together? Two brains are surely better than one!” He had caught her hook, line, and sinker and reeled her into the Kestral fan club boat. It was interesting how muppet went from and insult to his nickname for her, and what was crazier is on how she didn’t mind one bit. If anyone else called her that there would have been an argument but for whatever reason, it was just one of the things that helped solidify their friendship.
“It really is Rook. You are going to be an amazing Captain I can tell. You have so much pride and you speak with such passion. I could listen to you talk about quidditch forever.”It was true to if it was one thing she appreciated it was someone who took pride in what they did. She now shifted so she was standing in front of him looking up at him and she grinned. “What are you going to do if we whoop you?” She closed her left eye and stuck her tongue out at him being silly. Officially another facet of her had not seen until this day, the capability of being silly. San was, in fact, a complex little gem and he would learn something new the closer he decided to look.

“What are you going to do if we whoop you?”
Kyle cocked an eyebrow at his friend. On the one hand, she was fun and funny. She liked Quidditch, was newly on the Kestral Band Wagon, and enjoyed his passionate ramblings about the games, players, and strategies.
“What are you going to do if we whoop you?”
On the other hand she Was a Slytherin. Despite him wishing he was put into Slytherin his first Year Kyle had grown to embrace his position as a Lion. He was scrappy, brave, rebellious and looked pretty damn good in red. Obviously the sorting hat knew something. Not only was she a slytherin who was an opposing house, but she was on the Opposing houses Quidditch team.
“What are you going to do if we whoop you?”
On the Other other hand...
Kyle offered a lethargic shrug as he started to look away before he braced himself and turned decisively towards Santario and reached out suddenly and grabbed her shoulders and shoved the black haired girl backwards into the water. The girl let out a sudden yelp as she was taken off guard and propelled backwards into the freezing water of the Lake.
Kyle slipped his hands into his pockets and offered a playful wink "I guess Ill just do that" he punctuated his smugness with sticking out his tongue out at the now soaking wet girl.
As Santario sat in the freezing cold lake, her black hair covering part of her face and matted from being soaked, her gaze became Icy instead of the fun and playful look she had just moments before. "...Rook" there was a dangerous tone to her voice.
Kyle swallowed heavily

He shrugged at her and started to turn away…. Wait no she watched him tense up her eyes widening. Before she could even think about reacting, he grasped her shoulders and shoved her backward.
The shock of the icy cold lake forced an involuntary gasp out of her water splashing up and soaking her practically from head to toe. With her hair clinging to half of her face she leveled her sapphire eyes on him with a glare to match the water's temperature. “…Rook…” She was mad at him why would he push her into the freezing cold water now she was probably going to get sick and so help him if her grades suffered for it. She saw something in his demeanor change she couldn’t quite pin it down, but it was there. This would be the perfect time to catch him off-guard! It was harmless and she knew that so why be mad when you can get even?
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath slowly letting it out before looking at him again with a more neutral stance. She didn't bother to move the hair from her face as she knew the more she reacts the more time she gave him to react and she didn't want him to be able to. Slowly standing up her body was already starting to shiver as the heat had gone from it almost as quickly as the water had touched her. He thought it was funny to push her into the lake, well let’s just see how he liked being covered in lake water.
Taking a step forward giving her back foot leverage she flashed him a wicked grin before pushing as hard as she could off of her back foot and pouncing on him. If successful, her palms would make contact with his shoulders helping to push him back and she would follow through with her body weight fully intending on landed on top of him and sitting on him. If all of this was successful not only would he start soaking through from her drenched school robes, but she would grab her hair and wring it out over his face. “How do you like it, huh?” She would be laughing through her shivering and teeth clacking.

Kyle thought he had a pretty good grasp on San. She was good with words and smarts and whatnot. More level headed and rational than he was. Did he think she was slightly tightly wound or weird? sometimes sure, but hey who was he to judge? She put up with his obnoxious behavior and shared a growing interest in Quidditch so she was cool to be around. He certainly did not expect her to do what she was about to.
She threw herself at him suddenly like a hell cat and drove him to the the ground and he only had the time to let out an "Oh shit!" before his back hit the ground and he let out a grunt as the air was knocked out of his lungs. Before he could really react to push her off of him she wringed her hair out over his face and he spluttered as he tried to keep it out of his mouth, turning his face away and putting his hands over his face.
Kyle, now wet from her sitting on him and the water from her wringing out her hair, let out a laugh and with his still closed and he reached forward to dig his fingers into her side and tickler her, hoping to catch her off guard so he could push her off of him. "Get offa me ya lunatic" he got out through his laughing

Distracted by her last moment plan working like a charm she didn’t realize what he was doing until his hands her at her sides. She let out a shriek and rolled off of him grabbing her sides protectively now laughing. “M-me the lunatic?! You p-pushed me into an f-freezing cold lake!” She chattered through her shivers while she stared at him with a smile lighting up her eyes. “Oh! D-do you have a G-Gryffindor scarf I can borrow?” She asked as if she had meant to ask him a lot sooner than she had, but then again she also had not expected him to push her into the lake.
San could be extremely playful it really just took the right people to bring it out in her and she had to be comfortable to boot. One of the things that she found herself really enjoying was catching Rook off-guard. She finally started to feel a bit like what she presumed to be herself, he helped her feel less uptight and allowed her to act her age something she had never really experienced before. The fact that he could be just as playful on occasion also helped even if their playfulness involved them cracking jokes and or paybacks at the expense of the other. “I w-want to wear it to y-your first game.” She tacked on giving him an explanation so he didn’t have to bother asking her why in the world she wanted to acquire his scarf. “Oh! I also n-need your help. Will, you h-help me pick out my m-masquerade dress when my g-grandmother sends t-them?” She was just full of questions as she sat there shivering seemingly paying not much mind to it.

The Mighty Kestrels
It was a nice day out, and you couldn't blame the students of Hogwarts for wanting to spend some time outside. Catriona wasn't one to waste the good weather, so she'd decided to take her books and relocate outside, which turned out to be a bad idea. For one, the ground was rather uncomfortable and Catriona didn't even want to attempt to use her quill. Her handwriting was bad enough as it was.@Santario Martin & @Kyle DeRook
She'd just about resigned herself to reading her book about dragons when she heard two people shouting. Then, a splash. Catriona's head shot up and she watched as the Gryffindor boy shoved the Slytherin girl into the water. Were they fighting or something? Should she go and make sure they were alright? Last time she'd done something like that she'd made a friend, so it couldn't hurt, right? There was a little voice in her head that said to stop meddling in other people's business, but Catriona was very adept at ignoring it at this point.
She stood, dusting off her robes and crossed over to where the two students were. It looked like they were tussling now. Catriona was beginning to regret her decision to poke her nose in their matters, but it wasn't like she could go back now. When she'd talked (read, yelled) at Charlotte before, the other girl had ended up being rather nice about it. The two students probably wouldn't mind. And if they did, Catriona could always jump into the lake or something so she wouldn't have to talk to them. The giant squid could eat her and then everything would be fine.
"Uh, hello, are you two alright?" she said, her voice strangely steady for all the self-doubt swirling in her head. She found herself backing away slightly, though, just in case. "Do I need to call a professor or something?"
"Every important thing that's ever happened to me has been in a library."
