Professor's Office
Unlike the heavy, enchanted thresholds scattered across the castle. This door does not bore a sign that read "Open" or "Closed." Entry was based upon Samuel's whims. When closed, the door resisted entry with charms. When opened however, students were permitted entry- though only upon knocking.
Above the handle, a plaque read in a precise and elegant aristocratic font:
"Please knock once. Then wait."
Inside, Samuel had managed to make the space surprisingly inviting, yet it remained immaculately ordered. The scent of warmed cedarwood and faint bergamot lingered in the air, carried by a gentle charm that kept the room fresh, never cloying. There were no flickering candles, no whispering portraits to snoop behind his back. Only Quiet.
A large desk, sleek and charcoal-black with clean lines stands near the center of the office. Across it are two guest chairs- Upholstered in deep green velvet. Offering a seating experience that was surprisingly comfortable if not indulging. The armrests bore subtle embossed designs of his house crest. Meanings obscured unless you had extensive knowledge of the pureblood society. The desk itself held a few carefully arranged items. A heavy glass inkwell with a steel tipped quill, a minimalist gold hourglass and an elegant placard inscribed with :
Samuel R. Sauber
Stacked neatly at the side are student parchments and notes, always marked or annotated in exacting detail. No Clutter, nothing out of place. Ever. Yet somehow the room never feels cold.
The walls are lined with tall shelves, not stuffed to bursting however. A curated collection of texts on potion craft, magical theory, and restricted alchemical practices line the upper rows of Samuel's personal collection. Below sits a few curious objects under glass domes: a silver stirring rod from 17th-century Prague; a dried phoenix iris; a sealed vial labeled “Prototype 07 – Incomplete.” Most of these never see the light of day to another person in the castle.
Near the hearth which is always lit but never roaring stands a small table with a polished copper kettle and two matching mugs. It gives the impression that conversation, not confrontation, might occur here. Even if most wouldn’t dare initiate it.
If students enter, they will find Professor Sauber already seated, hands folded, eyes sharp, expression unreadable. But after a pause, he shall speak in a tone that, while firm, is never unkind:
“Sit. If you’ve come this far, you better have something worth listening to.”
Note: This is an in-character (IC) thread where you can do short interaction with the Professor of Potions. Once the office is opened, Professor Sauber will interact with one student only. No one can start a new conversation until the last person has left or hasn't responded in over a month.

Professor's Office

—date. [ 11/03/25 ]————word count. [ 216 ]————tag. [ @Lesmana Asmaralaya ]— Prat heard about the arrival of a new Professor to the castle. Deciding to reach out to them before their normal schedule tied them up, he decided to show up at the professor's office. Soon, he was standing at their door. Stepping forward to knock on the door that stood guard for the entrance to the new Professor's office. He gently tapped his knuckles against the wood, the sound from the impact echoed faintly in the quite corridors of the school. Another benefit of having potions class in the dungeons. "May I step inside?" he called out, his voice carrying subtle hints of his underlying excitement. As the door creaked open, he caught a whiff of something peculiar or rather different unlike other offices —a blend of herbs and a harmony between them like no other. Peering through the gap, he saw the new Potion's Professor, Lesmana. The chair opposite the desk looked inviting enough for Prat , its batik-patterned cushion promising a potential cozy seat. Prat took a step forward into the office, eager and ready to make a good impression and perhaps even get acquainted with the new Professor. "Good morning, Professor Asmaralaya. I'm Prat, a second-year student here at the school, and I heard you were going to be our new potions professor. I couldn't resist the urge to introduce myself and get familiar with you for our upcoming classes." His gaze danced over the array of different object placed on his desk, chief grabbing among them was a placard with an unfamiliar writing to Prat. He'd seen several languages and writing but was unsure what this one was. ——— [ notes ]didn't wanna give you something too big but Hii ( codes by uly. )— | ———— |

The first knock since he came to the school. He looked around to check if his office was clean enough. He must show his best for the first impression. "Come in," he responded.
A boy entered the office. He's pretty tall for his age. Round glasses and glossy black hair, Lesmana tried his best to take the description of the boy in his head. Third year? Second year? Lesmana tried to guess his school year in his mind. It was always hard to guess kids' age nowadays.
"Good morning, Prat," he responded. Lesmana gave the boy a soft smile. "Thank you. You are the first one to visit me." He really meant it. Lesmana spent most of his days in Omah Geni. The farthest place he had gone was Indonesia. Going to Scotland, especially for work, was out of his comfort zone. He was looking forward to what would he find and learn in the new place, especially the potions-making technique. Some things were a bit different when he learnt the textbook he found here but the principles were still the same.
He looked at the boy who seemed to be interested in the placard. "Ah... You see my placard." He had pride in his placard since it contained the letters from his hometown. "Do you have any idea which language was written at the top of my name?" He raised his eyebrow, waiting for Prat to answer.

─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Prat sat there squinting his eyes as he tried to decipher the unfamiliar symbols that graced the placard of their new Professor. "I'm afraid i do not recognize the language, Professor." he admitted to the main. His curiosity piqued "Could you enlighten me about it?" The young boy still had eagerness that was symbolic of kids his age.
Prat nodded eagerly as he listened to Lesmana, his eyes carrying a distinct gleam of excitement. "I'm really looking forward to your classes Professor, i've never had a keen interest in the subject but perhaps your presence might change it. I'm specially looking forward to Year three classes. I won't ask you what topics we'll cover, i'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised."
His foot tapped impatiently against the stone floor as he looked around, observing the time in his pocket watch. "It's almost time for my class, i must take my leave now Professor." He said with a quick smile "But i'll come around eventually to ask you more questions, hope to see you soon." Prat added as he pivoted to leave the office.
However, another thought came to his brilliant mind as he paused Mid-stride, a weird sparkle in his eyes. He spun around to face Lesmana once more, "Professor, would you ever consider having a duelling exhibition with a student or two? Me and a peer of mine would love to" he thought of Raizel and was sure she'd come take this chance, whenever you have time ofcourse" He quickly added, not intending to impose his will upon an adult.
With Lesmana's response now noted in his mind, he took his leave.
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Thank you for this, i'll be taking my leave so i don't hog up your office now.

Smiling, Lesmana would be more surprised if the boy knew the language. "It's Javanese scripture or the native usually call it 'Aksara Jawa'. I come from the Javanese culture so I'm a bit proud to bring it here." He chuckled lightly. "The chairs and this inkwell are also brought from my old place."
"Well..." Lesmana paused for some moments. It was really pleasant to hear that there was a student who was looking forward to his class. He never taught formally before besides a mini-lecture he had given to the students about how to not injure yourself back when he worked in Tenūsa. "I hope you will find my class interesting." Potions was always interesting for Lesmana but he knew too well that not everyone had the same interest as him. Another good thing was, the syllabus that was used here was very similar to the one he had learned in Tenūsa. There were some minor differences in the recipe and Lesmana was working to do some research on how it would make any difference. Potions must be taken care of carefully after all.
"I expected your attendance in our next meeting in the class," he smiled, ready to let the boy go until the boy added something. A little bit surprised, Lesmana could only chuckle. "I'm sorry. I'm not a good duellist. I spent my time brewing potions and tending wounds rather than duel someone. So other professors might be more well suit for this request. But feel free to come here if you need any assistance on brewing some potion."
With that, he sent the boy off.
