 IDENTITY─────────────────────── BASICSSiobhan Magdelena McCarty, is a 14 year old witch from Killarney Ireland. Being the only witch in a muggle family of eight comes with it's challenges but it's nothing that she hasn't started to overcome piece by piece. Coming from a world where magic is only something seen through funny men in black tuxedos and through rabbits in hats, this world is providing answers to questions that Siobhan didn't even know that she had inside of her head. ───────────────────────────────

Personality. Siobhan is mostly quiet, keeping to herself unless someone sparks her interest through a shared hobby or activity. Once she makes friends, she hangs on to them and keeps them close to her, cherishing the moments that she shares with them. Her personality attracts people through her ability to confuse and dazzle them with her wit and charm. Her intellect allows her to pull high grades in her classes, with mostly straight O's and E's. She has a natural affinity for Herbology and Defense Against the Dark arts, since they require the most natural understanding of how the world and its inhabitants work. Her current aspiration for the future is to be a Potioneer and own a Magical Apothecary. Her home garden has a massive selection of herbs and fungi that she found where incredibly useful in the Magical world, causing her to be on par with her classmates despite only residing in the Magical world for a year.

 Appearance & Style. Siobhan can best be described as a young wood nymph in the way that her body has grown out. She has very long limbs, and is easily one of the tallest girls in her year but its almost frail in stature despite her eating & snacking habits. Her hair is long and seems to grow at an exponential rate, and is a gorgeous chestnut brown. There is the smallest wave in the very middle of her hair that adds some volume.

She has the most observant grey eyes that are tinged with a speckle of gold in the middle- people have described her eyes as siren or seal like with how big they are. Her skin is traditionally Irish but she lacks freckles. The only discolouration is her minor case of rosecea which gives her a permanent blush, extending from ear to ear. Siobhan has a very ecclectic style ranging from traditionally witchy and cottage core, to light academia. She tends to veer for muted colors, earthy tones that match her garden, and styles that would come across as traditionally peasant. Many of her clothes are second hand or passed down from family members which she cherishes and cares for dearly. She accessorizes with headscarfs, headbands, and hair kerchiefs as a sign of modesty. |

History. Siobhan Magdelena McCarty is the second youngest child of the large McCarty family that hails from Killarney Ireland. However what is special about her is the individuality that manifests itself as magic. Being the only witch in a muggle family of eight comes with its challenges but Siobhan is learning to challenge the stereotypes that she is subjected to, simply for existing as a muggleborn. Siobhan has grown up in a family that believes magic exists inside the relationship between a person and the Earth. In a sense, the McCarty family is magic in their entirety due to the Scandinavian and Romani heritage flowing through their veins. While she may be the only true witch, she's no stranger to the existence of magical properties. Siobhan has grown up in the garden and between the Earth. She spends a good portion of her days working to strengthen her garden and tend to her plants, wanting to cultivate a garden that can give anything to a person should a need arise for it. Her parents have always known that she was made to be a part of the Earth because of her strange connection to a large flower in their garden which has only ever bloomed on the eve of an event in Siobhan’s life. The first being the night before she was born, the second time being the night before her first instance of magic, and the third being the night before a professor of Hogwarts appeared on the McCarty doorstep welcoming her into the Magical World. She strives to be polite and whimsical so as to prompt others to speak with her rather than about her. It does not do well to argue with her however as her tongue is as sharp as her mind- one wrong comment will land someone on her disgruntlement list which is quite hard to remove themselves from. Siobhan is an academically gifted student. Before Hogwarts, she was top of her class in her muggle primary school and often spends her free time with her nose in a book. Her mind is quite sponge-like, absorbing all that her existence experiences. Her memory is quite vivid and she is able to recall instances and observances that many others cannot. This is particularly useful when she is debating others and proving herself despite the odds that she persistently deals with.
Her relationship with her family is stronger than ever since her discovery of her prowess as a witch. While her family may not be as adept at reading tarot and working with runes- Siobhan is learning all that she can to strengthen her family’s “Green” magic. Her elder siblings, Eoghan, Cillian, Declan and Agatha find themselves turning to her whenever they need advice simply because her mind works in a more observant way than normal kids- and they find she is easier to talk to before their parents. Siobhan’s youngest sibling- Kaitlyn- marvels at Siobhan in all her witchy glory. Kaitlyn insists that she will be like Siobhan one day. Magic. Siobhan’s parents; Neil and Ophelia are greatly proud of their daughter and send her frequent letters updating her on her family, the farm, and asking about her life at Hogwarts. First instace of magic. Siobhan didn’t exude any magic until she was about seven. Her brothers had been chasing her around the garden when she had been trying to read and ultimately ended up chasing her into a tree. When she climbed up- her fear of heights struck her and she became stuck to the branches, unable to remove herself or be removed. She was stuck for a few minutes before the comforting grip of her father helped her to unstick herself from the tree branch that she had been glued to. Siobhan’s father’s voice and the promise of grounding all three of her brothers for weeks was what allowed her to process her emotions and bring her safely to the ground. While this may have been her first instance of magic, other magic was flowing around her. The McCarty family home lays on a particularly strong ley line cross which is why Siobhan believes that she is somehow more connected to her garden and plants than the rest of her family is.

snacks, cuddles, and love. Though he dearly loves Siobhan and has/will scratch those who make her sad. Toaster is on the chubbier side of cats and despite Siobhan's attempts to keep him on a healthy diet, Toaster has managed to whittle his way into the hearts of all to solicit treats and snacks from the hands of Siobhan's friends and school mates. Despite how much Prat Pass insists that Toaster is his son, there is no credible evidence to this, besides the fact that Toaster accepts treats from everyone. Toaster loves to spend time in sunny spots, on his back, so that people can give him tummy rubs. Toaster has a warm blanket that he likes to carry around the Gryffindor tower, as a way to always have a comfy spot to nap in. Siobhan often wonders if Toaster has much to say and feels that his personality would do wonders with a spell to enchant his speech.

Siobhan's potion accident was the day that her life changed for good. A simple calming draught which should have been an easy walk through for her and her potions partner Matthew Campbell, disasterously exploded in her face causing her eyes to become damaged from the residue that attacked her eyes themselves. Before the accident, her eyes were a beautiful shade of grey that had a softer gold twinge to them around the irises while the grey shades would trickle outwards making them appear almost alive to those who observed them. Her mother used to call them her 'moon gift' and would tell Siobhan that her eyes were a gift
from her sign under the Capricorn moon. Her eyes wouldn't ever allow her to hide the emotions she could feel so purely and often whenever she'd cry, her mother would follow the analogy up with a comment about her tears being the droplets from the stars. Siobhan's favorite part of herself was her eyes and she loved to use them for obeservations of herself and others. Siobhan's accident was a deeply painful one both physically and mentally. Despite the potion only having a mild explosion, it was the heat of the potion itself that scarred her actual eyes. The damage of said potion has |

at first glance only damaged the surface of her eyes and some magical medical work was able to stop the damage from spreading as quickly as it was trying to. But she was aware that her sight would never be restored to it's full ability and that as she grew older and her eyes experienced more use, the deterioration of her nerves and eyes, pushing her into complete blindness. It is uncertain when or how long it will take for her to go fully blind. Much of it depends on her willpower and ability of magic medicine to help her out. However she will never have the original status of her eyes. So she has decided to keep updates to herself via notes. |
[EYES ─ CURRENT STATUS ] ⋆ Eyes are open and visually healed. The brown grey color they once were has been magically and medically altered to a silver-ish grey to hide the damage done to her irises. The scarring around her eyes has been muted via cellular magical intervention and when Siobhan is blessed with extra vials, a beauty potion helps to restore some of her natural delicacy. While her team won the duel, her attacks and accuracy were extremely off and it was by sheer luck that she managed to hit her target. Shapes are beginning to take form but nothing more than vague instances. ⋆ [AUGUST 11TH-31ST, 2025]| Summer Camp: Fair DaysSiobhan's first school sanctioned summer activity and she was surprisingly able to maintain a visual of it. Almost as if by magic, she had been granted the ability to see something and for the two weeks she was there, she believed that her eyesight would perhaps return. The fireworks had been the most beautiful. ⋆ [OCTOBER 19TH, 2025]| Fall BallSiobhan fell into a deep state of anxiety as she was mocked for her eyesight by someone she had believed cared about her. Instead of embracing the struggle as she had been taught to do, she hid away from it and thus it pushed away the people she wanted in her life. |
