Pax chuckled at Koko's evaluation of the Keeper role. It was interesting to see she saw the position like a one-trick pony, doing the same thing over and over, because they definitely didn't agree.

"Yeah, but that's if your keeper is, well, doing their job, for lack of a better way of phrasing it. You can't say that it isn't at least a little bit satisfying to blatch someone - that's something I've always wanted to try honestly, but I've never had the chance in a game."

It wasn't Koko's fault that Pax's smile dropped slightly - she had no way of knowing, and as such a strong player, how would she? But her reminder of the bludger pain made Pax felt like they'd just taken one to the side yet again. It brought back unfond memories of the weightlessness of tumbling through the sky to the ground - thoughts they'd rather not dwell on. They could only imagine that a statement such as Koko's was just second nature to her - she was strong enough to handle bludgers, after all. Hopefully by that point, they would be too. Otherwise they'd have to do some pretty serious re-evaluating with that they were doing with life.

Plastering the smile back on their face, they tuned back in for the final part of Koko's sentence. "And we have a lot we can learn from you guys, too. If you have things to do, I don't want to keep you, but your help has been really appreciated, so thank you so much."

Koko offered a small, tentative, far-more-genuine-than-usual smile in response to Pax's chuckle and their words. Although this had begun as just a talk about strategy, she was finding that Pax was a pretty cool person even when not on the pitch. Not that she'd ever admit it during a game — but off the pitch, sure.

'Well. I'm probably not supposed to feel this way about it, but blatching is kind of fun. You know, despite it being against the rules. I hope you get to try it someday; getting away with it is half of the fun.' Her smile remained on her face, her eyes twinkling with a spark of almost-uncharacteristic mischief.

When Koko noticed Pax's expression change slightly, her eyebrows drew closer together. She almost wanted to ask if they were okay — almost. Instead, she simply remained quiet, glancing at one of the library's book-laden shelves with what she hoped was a serene-enough expression on her face.

'Well, I guess I should get back to my... homework.' Her nose wrinkled slightly as she made a dramatic expression of disgust. 'But — if you're ever wanting to talk to someone about how to take down Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, I'd be totally willing to share some ideas. Or, you know, if you just want a friendly, no-stakes chat about Quidditch.' Her smile was back, one that was most definitely mirrored in her eyes. 'Well, it was really nice getting to talk to you. You seem pretty cool. Best of luck against Hufflepuff!'

With that, she daintily scooted her chair back and rose, ready to collect some parchment and make real progress on the day's homework.
