Siobhan was anxiously tapping her foot as she waited outside the astronomy tower. Prat was late and she was beginning to think that his head had gotten so big that he actively couldn't lift it off the ground anymore. Another thought that was vaguely crossing her mind was the thought that perhaps he was tricking her and waiting for her to be caught by a prefect who would give her some ridiculous described detention such as- cleaning out the slugs in the greenhouse. The thought of such a task sent her stomach churning and she had to catch herself so as not to void the contents of her stomach onto the stone pathway up to the tower.
Around her ankles, her cat was meowing softly as he both searched for her attention and potentially a snack. She bent down and picked Toaster up, holding him close to her chest and nuzzling his soft and chunky body. He probably shouldn't have anymore snacks but who was she to deny her precious Toaster of good vitamins and a treat for being such a good cat? He had been keeping her company in the last couple months that had been depriving her of an appropriate amount of sleep, by laying his fat black fuzzy body against her chest or stomach and acting as a specialty weighted animal to calm her when she woke up from the anxiously approaching smoke in her mind. In fact she would dare to say that her dreams had been getting better since Toaster had chosen her belly as his nightly pillow.
Speaking of smoke- she had to put Toaster down so that she could rub her eyes. It was getting late and she was wanting to fall asleep in her cozy four poster bed in the Gryffindor tower. Having learned the Lumos spell, she had been able to conjure the small ball of light at the tip of her wand which was serving as a nightlight, helping to orient her as the nights grew longer and her dreams grew so discombobulated that her end of the tunnel was the only thing that was truly keeping her from losing her sanity completely. Her mother and Nana had prescribed some homemade lavender and chamomile infused honey to add to her bedtime teas at night and while they helped lull her into the obscure feeling of leaving her body and entering her dreams at night, it still didn't fully comfort her.
She sunk against the all to the ground and let Toaster crawl into her lap as she twirled her wand in her hands. Prat was getting later and later by the minute and she considered leaving and telling him off in the morning. It had to be going on midnight now and she was risking more and more as she lingered- her ears sharply perked for the sound of a potential set of shoes that didn't belong to the strides that Prat took. Toaster, sensing her annoyance, meowed loudly in agreement and she gently shushed him.
"Toaster, you must stay quiet. We musn't get caught for this." She whispered softly as Toaster burrowed himself into the outside of her deep emerald sweater. She wished she was able to curl up into something- Wearing such thin material for pants and sandals was a bad idea. She was high up in the astronomy tower and it was only the middle of January. It was still very much winter technically and she was bound to come up with a cold sometime soon if she was kept waiting much longer. At least she had brought her light blanket with her though it as also just as thin as the cotton of her bohemian style pants.
She gently rested her head against the side of the wall and began to doze lightly as she waited for her friend to show up. Good god she must be delirious from the lack of sleep if she was admitting to herself that Prat was her friend. They hadn't progressed to that in a platonic type of relationship. They were barely acquaintences- frenemies was likely the better word for it. However she was too tired to reason with herself and closed her eyes just to rest them for a moment. She was just resting for a moment...

Anything You Can Do: Pt. 2

Sunday, 26th January; Astro Tower
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────The cold air wrapped around his body as Prat slithered out of the Slytherin dormitory. His mind was a mix of excitement and nerves, rhythmic thumping echoed in his ears. He felt the warm breath of Neoth, his loyal half-crup, against his leg, the creature wagging his tail in excitement of their upcoming adventure.
The halls of Hogwarts Castle lay eerily silent at this time of the night. Only sound being the sound of his shoes and the occasional tap of his knuckles against the walls. Prat's eyes adjusted quite swiftly to the dimly lit corridors, darting from side to side with caution. Ensuring his path was clear and he was in no imminent danger.
He was coming to know every twist and turn of the castle like the back of his hand, a skill he was beginning to acquire from an year or two of late-night wanderings and secret adventures. The stairs to Astro tower were right ahead, from this far below it's peak seemingly disappeared into the night sky.
As he climbed the staircase, the cold railings sent a shiver down his spine, but the warmth from his ownclothes kept him warm. The fashion choices today prioritized function over form. After what seemed like an eternity of stairs, Prat finally reached the door to tower. Neoth now sat in one of the pockets of his oversized hoodie as he made his way inside.
His voice cut through the stillness of the tower as he snapped his fingers playfully beside Siobhan's ear. "Look alive" he shouted, watching her react to his sudden intrusion. She had been leaning against one of these cold constructs with her eyes half-closed, Prat could not have her be sleepy at a time like this where laziness could become their Achilles heel.
"Why are you here so early? I thought i told you to come here by midnight?" he questioned her, raising an eyebrow. Was she planning to pull one over him and inspect the surroundings to find new information before he even arrived? "Couldn't help it could you? Nevermind. Since we're both here, let's get started." he said as he pulled out the aged Parchment looking map from his pocket that they had come to acquire.
They'd manage to discover it in the library when the two of them picked the same book for their reading, both completely unaware of what they were about to chance upon in those somewhat very dusty corners of the library. The map with it's strange and stupid symbols was the subject of much speculation in Prat's mind.
He gently unfolded it, putting it on the ground "Here it is" with his eyes gleaming with excitement "This could be the key to unraveling some strange unfound secret about Hogwarts" He spoke as his eyes darted over the intricate lines and symbols. Simultaneously he reached out tentatively to stroke sio's fatcat "Toaster". "Hey there buddy" he murmured, his hand just above the cat's belly.
His hand instinctively reached into a pocket, the crinkle of dog treats he had brought came out with his hand. He expected Neoth to get restless should their task take it's sweet time. Pulling out a few sticks, Prat threw them towards his four legged friend "Here you go", he whispered as he gently observed Neo munching on his very late snack.
Within this scenic moment, Prat's frustration with the map continued to remain. The anticipation to decipher it was huge but no matter how few times he had attempted, the map remained as elusive and enigmatic as before towards the Young Duelling Captain. Even with all these troubles, he knew better than to ask an adult for help. It was common for those older to meet the curiosity of young ones with suspicion and dismissal.
Were they to ask a senior student or a professor, they were more likely to take this map from the duo and lock it behind some stupid lock instead of ever unraveling the mysteries tied to it. Prat's thoughts were a mess, a collection of overarching answers, similar to the stars above them. Each weird idea that came to his mind seemed like a potential clue to him.
"What do you think we should try? Could it be some part of this map is redundant? " As they studied the map Neo came over, nudging his nose against Prat's arm for another treat, one Prat was quite happy to provide him with.

⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆ "I am only brave when I need to be, being brave doesn't mean I go looking for trouble"⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆She did not take kindly to the snapping of his fingers, the loud obnoxiousness of his voice, and the blatant disrespect as he demanded to know why she was on time as though he wasn't nearly an hour late. When he had spooked her, her head had smacked the wall and she hissed loudly as she checked to make sure she hadn't cracked her skull open. She was too tired to fight him, but she was sure that Toaster would rough him up a bit if Prat had caused her to be injured.
It didn't matter though, she was fine and nothing that a ginger tea and some rosemary oil couldn't resolve whenever she got back to her dormitory. It seemed so far away and she was so ready to abandon this adventure solely because her head hurt and she was tired.
"You're such a jerk- You're late! It's past midnight already so don't yell at me!" Siobhan grumbled as a tear or two slipped out of her eyes because of the sting at the back of her head. She wiped her face and made to follow him inside of the tower. Toaster meowed at her softly, and she watched as he hissed at Prat's back for making her upset. She hid her laugh as she gently picked Toaster up off the ground with a small exhale of effort.
When both of them had settled themselves, and their furry companions, Siobhan and Prat mused over the map they had found during their small and mostly insignificant scuffle in the library. After the whole ordeal, she had started to do research into who or what could have left this map behind and what exactly i could lead to. From the research she had found, it couldn't be any sort of location that was known to be accessible through a secret passageway. All the passageways had been shut or sealed in the late 1990's and it didn't seem at all plausible that someone would have just opened one up and left it's location in a book that any student could have pulled off the shelves.
Siobhan looked at the map closer as Prat yammered on about something having to do with an uncovered secret. She let out a sniff of indignance- the likelihood of them discovering something of monumental expenditure was low. Extremely low. But she supposed that she wouldn't outwardly say it to cause more drama. Besides- if it truly did lead to something, she would be ecstatic to have found it first.
Well- together she supposed to herself.
When Prat tried to pet Toaster, her dutiful companion whacked the boy with his paw and crawled back into the safety of Siobhan's arms. She giggled to herself as she was almost sure that Toaster had stuck his tongue out at Prat and his dog... thing... a crup or some sort of combination breed. She watched as Prat continued to fuss in his own cranky way about why he couldn't understand the map.
"Lumos" She murmured as she brought her wand light closer to the paper and bumped Prat away from it slightly. She made a small, thoughtful face as she realized what it was that the two of them were looking at. It wasn't a map of the Earth per se, but rather a map of the sky. A map of the current sky...
"It's not redundant Prat. It's just not a map of the castle. Look see here-" She said pushing closer towards the map and using her finger to draw out the orbits of the planets and the path between the stars forming the constellations.
She looked at Prat and noticed that it was puzzling him enough that he was stumped. It made her smirk slightly as she felt that perhaps she would best him in something, considering he liked to remark on a couple missed moments in class or during her last duel.
She looked up at the star coated ceiling and let the constellations of the night reflect in her eyes as she looked for the specific one that had been copied onto the map. Picking it up, she started to move around the tower with her eyes on the ceiling as she- AH HA!
She turned to him and pointed to the ceiling.
"It's somewhere here- Under Aquarius." She whispered as her wand light illuminated the beauty of the Water Bearer sign. Toaster meowed and brushed against her legs in excitement as she seemed to have figured it out.

Anything You Can Do: Pt. 2
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Sunday, 26th January; Astro Tower
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Prat was a little surprised as he watched Sio's head hit the wall with a thud, for a moment he didn't register what was occurring, thanks to the late hours of staying up. He had only meant to snap his fingers to get her attention, possibly shake her out of whatever daze she was now floating in. Atleast to him she looked dazed, since she missed acknowledging his arrival before, it was clear she must be sleepy.
The boy's voice came out more obnoxious and demanding then he had anticipated, sounding much like frustration as compared to the usual tone he had intended. Prat was afterall a victim of consequences and was held back due to his other responsibilities.
"You're such a jerk- You're late! It's past midnight already so don't yell at me!"
"i'm not late" He insisted to sio as he tried keeping his tone calm despite the hints of frustration bubbling up inside. Quickly, he held out his wrist, flashing a makeshift watch drawn on his wrist with a marker, "I'm right on time. It's you who's early, like i said before." He understood now was not the time to argue or defend himself. He hadn't intended to cause her any harm and the better option was to let her know. "Look, let's just move on from this, shall we? and i'm sorry for startling you, i didn't mean to spook you that bad."
He suggested, gesturing at the task ahead of them, "We've got a lot to do and i'd hate to keep you up any later than absolutely necessary."
With her cat hissing behind his back and rejecting his attempts to reconcile, Prat stopped attempting to interact with the fat chonky piece of fur and instead put most of his focus back onto the map. With their less than ideal relation already on a rocky path, Prat had to be on his best behaviour for the remainder of the time they remained on this tower. He understood any further taunts might only add fuel to the fire, and with his inability to previously decipher the map from his dorm room, he had to make sure she didn't lose faith in him.
The seconds ticked by in silence and calculations as both sat together, attempting different ways to decipher it. Prat could almost hear the gears turning in sio's head as she processed the information. When she had finally come to a conclusion, sio proceeded to say
"It's not redundant Prat. It's just not a map of the castle. Look see here-"
Perhaps Sio had managed to catch something he had missed, after the amount of times he had previously tried, Prat had almost checked out mentally and did not care for the map as much as he did at the beginning of their adventure. He took a short breath of frustration as he turned his attention back to his loyal Companion, Neoth. The dog had been patiently waiting for him, tail wagging. Just turning his focus back onto him made Prat lose most of his built up tension. He knelt down, scratching Neo's ears as he elicited a contented whine from the canine. "Who's a good boy?? You are" he said while scratching the little creature.
There playtime was broke by addition of Sio's voice to the surroundings, "It's somewhere here- Under Aquarius."
Prat simply nodded along as Sio pointed our various symbols and patterns on the map she had discovered, He had to admit, she was doing much better at this than he would have. The night sky and light from lumos only assisting her in not missing details he might have missed. The map wasn't for land but rather for the sky as they later found out. With a few quick brain storming moments, both managed to figure out their path was now leading them to the edge of Forbidden forest.
Prat had no wish to step foot into that wretched space, or so he'd make anyone believe if they asked. In truth however, he desperately wished to step inside and see what mysteries it held. He wished to confirm if the forbidden forest was as haunting as he was told or did the passing of tales frequently enough morph the area from that of mild danger to a haunting brooding landscape.
"Sio" he said, his voice in hushed whispers now that he was awfully aware of the late time and his willingness to not appear as shouting machine to her. "We've found our next location, let's rendezvous at the entry of the forest two days from now. Bring a lamp or something and a weapon of any kind, we're going to need all the instruments we can get. That is, if you wish to continue going after this."
He shrugged at her, "I mean i'd understand, Forest is a scary place, you might chicken out? Let me know when you have made up your mind." Prat stood towards one of the railings, cold wind hitting his face as he rolled the map back securely in his pocket, steeling himself for the potential danger that might come his way once he chooses to step inside the forbidden forest.

⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆ "I am only brave when I need to be, being brave doesn't mean I go looking for trouble"⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆Siobhan wrinkled her nose at him as he called her a chicken. That was a fine way to thank the person who had just helped him figure out how to move their adventure on and into the fray. But she supposed that for a pure-blood snake he was simply too caught up in his own arrogance that he couldn't remember to use basic manners and courtesy to those around him.
Even if he had apologized for yelling at her. She wasn't sure if she forgave him or not and her head really hurt at the moment. She'd need to be careful as she walked down the sprialling stairs of the astronomy tower and then all the way back up to the Gryffindor tower. It was a lot of walking this evening and with the migraine that was mounting, she really didn't care to continue on with the conversation he seemed to be having at her rather than with her about whether she was willing to step into the forest.
She would absolutely love to explore the forest. In fact, she had been daring enough on her own to toe the line between student grounds and the edge of the forest on her morning walks as she observed the changing of the lights within the leaves of the trees. It was always enough of an adventure to make her hungry enough for her eggs at breakfast.
Siobhan watched as Prat looked towards the forest and the wind swept across his face. She wished it sweep some kindness into his heart but she knew that was simply wistful thinking. She watched his two tailed beagle as it followed him and she held Toaster closer to her for fear that Toaster might get too curious and wander towards the edge where Prat was. Of course she knew about the enchantments that existed to catch whomever might fall from the top of the tower, but that didn't mean she wished to watch it in action.
Finally- enough silence had passed in her opinion for her to speak to Prat. She gave Toaster a quick nuzzle with her head and tried to speak in the most polite manner that she could.
"I have no qualms about adventuring into the forest. I've already been there." She spoke- which wasn't technically a lie. On a few such occasions of her morning walks, she had dared to walk a few hundered or so feet into the forest but never lingered longer than a few minutes for fear of being caught. However her curiosity kept driving her back towards the woods and yearning to go farther and farther into them.
She supposed they probably had several varieties of herbs and fungi that she could harvest for her personal apothecary in her trunk and who knows? Perhaps she could finally see some other magical creatures besides what they saw in class. To see a unicorn would be wonderful. She wondered if they were like her childhood had dreamt, all white and radiant. It would be lovely to experience that sense of happiness before joining the Care of Magical Creatures Elective. It amused her greatly and she would be beside herself if Prat insisted she was a chicken not to show up.
But besides the chicken comment, and making her smack her head- he had been pretty docile in terms of schoolyard cruelty to her. Maybe it was the moon cycle, maybe it was just because he was tired. Maybe she had just learned to legitimately tune his voice out and even though he might be speaking to her she just wasn't listening. A quick glance towards him confirmed that he was in fact not talking and she was delirious from lack of sleep.
Prat had mentioned not wanting to keep her up later than she needed to be and she had loudly rolled her eyes. He didn't know the half of it. The countless months of sleeping in bed only to wake up somewhere randomly in the castle was driving her nuts. But she wouldn't tell him that. She wouldn't tell anyone- except Astra but only because the girl had caught her a few months ago when she had crashed into a wall during her sleepwalking.
Truthfully it was a miracle that she hadn't fallen through an invisible stair on her walks through the castle. She supposed it was because as she "dreamt" she was seeing the interior of the castle and guiding herself as if she was awake. It was exhausting work being that vigilant. She had been trying to figure out a way to advance fast enough in potions to brew some of her own Dreamless Sleep potion that way she could attempt to get a real rest. If she asked the Nurse for it then she would have to explain what was happening to her and she'd be shipped off to the loony-bin faster than she could say Jack Robinson.
Anyway.
"Why are you so quiet? It can't be because you're tired." Siobhan said as she continued to pet Toaster who was growing increasingly disgruntled over the fact that Prat's pup was getting treats and he was not. She had fed him all his treats for the day and hadn't had anymore in her pockets but would remind herself to stock up that way her poor pet Toaster wouldn't go hungry in his fluffy belly.
"You're being ever so polite Toaster. We'll be in our dorm soon. Siobhan said as Toaster nuzzled into her arms as deep as his fat chubby body could so so.

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
@Siobhan McCartySunday, 26th January; Astro Tower
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Prat leaned forward against the cold stone railing of Astro tower, letting the chill of the wind seep into his skin as stared toward the tree line in the far distance. The Forbidden Forest. It somehow always looked more inviting at night. Perhaps it was the false sense of safety or the lowered surveillance.
The wind tossed strands of his hair across his face and he couldn't bother to move them. His mind mind was already pre occupied. Half with planning and half with nothing. The sort of nothingness that creeps in your mind late at night, when your thoughts slow down and you no longer have to lie to yourself, pretending you have all the answers.
Behind him, he could feel SIo's continued presence like a tickle on his back, just far enough to not be intrusive yet close enough to continue being noticed. She hadn't said much about his chicken comment, which he thought was hilliarious and she should've said something back in exchange. Unless she took it seriously, which he didn't expect or want her to. But perhaps that was his problem, growing too used to sarcasm being brushed off and living in irony instead of being called out for his antics and accepting them.
Her voice eventually cut through the quiet:
"I have no qualms about adventuring into the forest. I've already been there."
Of course she had, he thought to himself biting back a snort. The feral forest witch child who frolicked her way into the damned woods like a garden troll off its leash.
Was she perhaps raised by moss and mushrooms, he didn't even know where to begin with all this. But perhaps birds nested in her hair during summer break? He didn't know what else muggles did but that would explain a lot.
He didn’t say any of that out loud, though. He was trying. No need to incite her wrath or worse, her lecture voice back from when she hit him with those books.
Eventually he turned around and gave her a once over glance, "Yeah," he said casually, "You've got barefoot forest gremlin vibes." But this time the edge in his voice was softer than usual. More teasing that cruel. Weird shift but shift nonetheless.
He walked away from the railing and gave a half-stretch with his arms above his head as he tried adjusting his back.
"We should make a list of things if we're going to go inside. I want to do it right, instead of wandering in cluelessly and getting lost within minutes. I also do not wish to be eaten by an acromantula or be caught by a professor."
He didn't want to say it out loud, but he'd already started a plan in his head. What spells they'd need, what spells he'd need her to cast. In all honesty he knew she was a better spell caster than him and debating on it would only blind him to the holes in his arsenal. Prat was ready to see this thing completely. It wasn't in his nature to half ass things, specially not when it came to those phenomenas unknown to him.
"Why are you so quiet? It can't be because you're tired."
Her voice broke through again, this time a little gentler and less direct. Which was weird in its own right but he shrugged it off.
"I mean, I am tired," he admitted. "I just wanna go to be- OH that wasn't for me."
FUCK
This was embarrassing for him, if he could spontaneously combust here, he would. Would it be easier explanation to just jump down from this balcony, and never even look in her general direction at all?? Perhaps if he ignored her for a whole year she won't be able to remember this incident.
Well, the damage was done and best course of action was to face the waters.
"Pretend I never said that and I'll let you keep whatever we find." There, that was an olive branch. Surely that'd smooth things over.
"Are you going back to your dorms? Make sure you don't fall down somewhere along the way. I could see to it that you make it back alive." It wasn't phrases as an offer to walk her back. That would be too soft and too obvious. Instead it now just looked like him making a point. He might be mean with his words and actions but he wasn't a complete bitch.
"Let’s leave before a prefect decides to make an example of us. I’ll escort you halfway if you don’t whine the whole time." He said the last part in hushed tones mumbling to himself
A beat passed, and he added under his breath,
"…And thank you. For not walking off."
It wasn’t loud, and it wasn’t confident. But it was really his own words.

⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆ "I am only brave when I need to be, being brave doesn't mean I go looking for trouble"⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆Toaster did not at all like the fact that they did not leave immediately upon his meow towards her but Siobhan would be remiss if she became a crazy cat lady and started to listen to her cat over people. As such, Toaster continued to paw at her sweater and when she put him down, her legs. Simply out of protest and the want for a snack and his spot on her bed. The spoiled cat was her most fitful companion here at Hogwarts. Faithful, but fitful. She let him run around, gave him all the treats and toys he asked for and yet he still acted this way.
"Toaster." Siobhan said with a slight warning hidden inside her tone which got the cat to become far more docile albiet grumpy. She watched as Toaster walked over to Prat's pup and whacked him with his tail. Siobhan sighed and rolled her eyes, it was like dealing with a petulant toddler sometimes.
"I'm sorry Prat. Toaster enough of that." Siobhan said picking her cat up and letting him hide in her sweater. After mentioning that leaving would be the best course of action before a Prefect caught them, Prat had, on the other hand mentioned something about being tired and then quickly covered it up with an embarrssed offering of whatever it was they found to be hers alone when he realized that she had not been talking to him originally but rather her cat.
Siobhan covered her mouth with the sleeve of her sweater to hide the smirk that threatened to grace her face when Prat demonstrated that his emotional range went far beyond being saracstic and melodramatic. It was uncharacteristic for him but oddly charming in a way that she figured he often refused to acknowldge on a day-to-day basis. If he did, then perhaps he wouldn't always be so combative and snarky whenever the two of them interacted.
She also supposed it was just because he was a boy and boys often didn't know an emotion from a hole in the ground. It was odd to hear his voice reach a depth of such inadequate confidence. She almost felt bad for him and unapologetically, she reached out and gently gave his shoulder a tentative pat.
"There's no need to thank me. I am not one who leaves an exploration unexplored." Siobhan said with a calming voice. She wasn't sure if he would benefit from anything more than the shoulder pat and she was very sure that they were not on the terms of hugging.
"Besides... I'm starting to get really cold and Toaster is a great hot water bottle." She said with a joking lilt to her words. She could feel her nose beginning to freeze up and she was sure that her cheeks, ears, and tip of her nose were dusted darker with more of a red to them than normal. The wind from the upper half of the Astronomy tower whipped through the room and used its sharpness to sting any sort of skin that wasn't covered by socks, sweaters, or real shoes.
She gathered Toaster from where he and Neoth were play fighting and started walking towards the door, waiting for Prat to accompany her. She wasn't exactly sure how far the accompaniment would go but she didn't want him to walk back on his own from the tower at least. It would be better for the both of them if they walked together that way if someone did catch them they wouldn't feel as though the other had abandoned them to be caught.
And she didn't want to tell him, but with how dark it was she didn't want to get lost... or run into a ghost.Inventory:

Time: NIGHT!
Location: Astronomy Tower
· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·It would be obvious to any intelligent onlooker that Koko had fully intended to be out and about at this hour — there was no other reason for her to be clad in a fashionable blouse, pleated brown trousers and a long black coat, with her hair neatly brushed and her makeup impeccably done. Even if the shimmer of gold-tinted eyeliner wouldn't be seen in the low light of the night, her winged eyeliner and red lipstick would prove that, whatever she was up to, her being out after curfew was very much intentional.
The relatively low heel of her ankle-high boots clicked against the stone floors of the castle as ehe meandered, any thought of evening patrolling long behind her as the night continued to draw on. Multiple times, the seventh year pulled back the sleeve of her coat to check her gold watch, which continued to tick at a routine pace as it rested on her left wrist. With a small, nearly unnoticeable curl of her lip and a quiet roll of her eyes, she would continue on her lonesome trek.
Eventually, her walk, which was beginning to become aimless as her watch kept ticking, drew her to the stairs leading up to the astronomy tower. Out of all the classes she had taken at Hogwarts, Astronomy had definitely been one of her least favourites — it had taken time out of her night when she could have been doing myriad other things. Now, though, when as far as she was aware, no classes were scheduled... it would provide a reprieve of sorts, a chance to see Hogwarts's rolling grounds from high up without so obviously breaking the rules and flying a broom at night.
Flying would have been preferred, but this was easier. However, as Koko rounded the final spiral of the stairs, a hint of youthful voices emanated from the room. The clipped pace of her heels hitting the ground would provide a sharp, perhaps unwelcome warning to the two curfew breakers. She finally entered the room to see two children, one of whom was rather familiar as she had seen him around the castle and even duelled him. That had been... pathetic on his end, probably, even if it had been somewhat ruthless on hers.
She halted just towards the doors, narrowing her amber eyes at the two children in an attempt to look like the stern adult in the room. 'Mr Prat, Miss...' No one could really expect her to know the name of a student who wasn't even in Slytherin. 'It's rather late, is it not?' The ironic hypocrisy of her statement was completely lost on Koko when she raised an eyebrow at the students. 'I mean, just think! You're risking running into malicious ghosts, trolls, possibly even an acromantula if you're unlucky enough.' She was having a bit more fun with this than she would have liked to admit, which was likely evident by the way her eyes now glinted in the cloud-shaded emanation of moonlight.
'Luckily, you've only run into me. Tsk.' She glanced down at her nails to hide the half-smile that was threatening to form on her lips. Unable to properly neutralise her expression, she glanced back up to the children with the mirthful beginning of a pleased smirk on her face. 'Of course, it's not like I'd cause you harm like an acromantula would! But I do believe a detention — and perhaps an apology to Professor Starwise — is in store for each of you.'
She began to walk along the edge of the room, perhaps idling for a second or two as she kept a side-eyed gaze on the two youths. 'So... I can walk you back to your dorms, and you can get some sleep, and I can inform you of the circumstances of your detention in the morning.' There was definitely no hiding her slightly mean-spirited smile at this point. But she would, at least, allow them the dignity of walking back with her themselves.· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·
