Dear Serenity Arrelano,

Hey, how goes you? I'm Oliver Hart, a Hogwarts student originally from London! I'm doing really well, thanks!

Hogwarts is good, just starting third year and started on the right foot this year, already very ahead on classwork. Britain as a whole is good, it's quiet here, not much going on at the moment as far as I know. The summer was a wet one for the most part, how was yours? How is the big ol' America?

That's cool, I've never seen a student from another school, just writing to one is really cool to me. My family is all wizards! We go back pretty far, my dads started from a muggle-born though so the Hart name isn't really held up much in the Wizarding world. Nonetheless, awesome! I have a ton of friends that are muggle-born, its not too uncommon here these days anymore.

I'm 13 but pretty mature for my age. I guess Horned-Serpent is a similar to Ravenclaw so? That's the house I'm in! My grades aren't great but I hold up really well in any practical spellcasting exams.

That's really cool, I always wonder what having a twin would be like. Doesn't everyone though?
I don't have any siblings, I'm an only child. Which isn't so bad, I have so many friends I barely noticed anyway. I have a two cousins but they're really old, so I guess in that way I never experienced being able to enforce laws on younger children either. Heh!

Tea? My dad drinks it, really black tea at that. I guess it's not too much of a joke, it tends to be true! Haha, but I myself don't enjoy it.

How about you? What do you for fun? I play Quidditch and run often, I'm probably the fastest in my year. I'm trying out for chaser on the house team but have a bit of an injury at the moment, so if you ever see the Hogwarts Headliner and don't see me holding the cup, that's probably why! Is quidditch even big over there?

My Summer was pretty good, it was filled to the brim with extracurriculars and helping out Professors, but I do that almost every summer. I don't really think they want me going back to the Muggle world for long, but that's just my suspicion.

If you ever met my brothers, I think you'd have a heart attack. They really are into pranks, and got suspended from their old high-school twice! Then my family moved out of the state, and I had to stay with Jay and Penelope. I haven't seen them in person, but I get letters and emails from them pretty often. Especially Mark, who likes to tell me about their most recent pranks. Jack doesn't really like writing, and I don't blame him.

What's Hogwarts like? Is it as chaotic as Ilvermorny? What about the masquerade? I heard from our school principal that we're coming to Hogwarts for a masquerade party sometime in October! I'm kind of excited, but still super duper nervous, since you're the only person I know from Hogwarts. I'm sure it'll be fun, nonetheless.

The parties at my school are pretty boring. We just have some people dress up fancy and make out at every. single. party. So after that, I sort of stopped attending them. But I've never been to a masquerade before. But it should be fun. Definitely a good way to spend two months.

For fun I love Quidditch, volleyball, and cheerleading. Before I went to Ilvermorny, I was the first ever sixth-grade cheerleader and volleyball player in my middle school, just before I went to Ilvermorny. Since the beginning of school years are so weird.

Actually, Quidditch isn't as big as football is, which is kinda funny. Even though we are magical students in a magical school, we still enjoy No-Maj traditions!

Really? Trying to distract you from your family? I did hear my dad once talk about how America is different in how muggles are treated, but wow! I could never imagine people acting like that here today. Hopefully it's just a misunderstanding!

If I did meet your brothers, I might get a surprise but no heart attack. You see I'm a bit of a prankster myself, I'm well known for tricks I've done on lower years and all round just praised for my pranky wit.

Hogwarts is great! It's a bit all over the place but it doesn't take too long to adjust to.
There's a masquerade? That's news to me, I didn't hear a word of it. Again I'm a bit busy these days. You're coming here? I suppose we'll get to meet outside of letters soon enough, that's cool!

Yeah, I don't attend much of the events here. They're kind of swarmed by the weird kids these days. Others and myself just use the time when everyone's distracted to go elsewhere we usually can't. You're coming to Hogwarts for two whole months? That's hard to believe, you'll have to do classes here if so?

That sounds cool! I'm unsure what either of those two are. I think I do cheerleading too? On the stands of the Quidditch pitch usually. I think I could call myself a casual cheerleader so.
Football? That's the sport where muggles kick balls with their feet? And try to hit it into a big net? It's a bit like Quidditch just very limited as everyone's on a two dimensional plane.

What's your favourite subject in school if you don't mind me asking?

I had a feeling my suspicions were a little worn-out, but I'm sure there must be some reasoning behind it.

That must be a good welcoming to Hogwarts! First day of school and there's a howler on your desk waiting to be opened. It happened to my friend once and she was terrified of what happened and who sent it. She opened it and turns out it was from a seventh year complimenting her shirt.

She told me it's still her worst memory and is terrified of Howlers to this day, and honestly? I don't blame her.

Have you ever been to a masquerade before? I don't think I've ever been to one, but it sounds kinda fun, wearing a mask and dancing with people and nobody knows who you are. It's kind of like wearing a ski mask but better? And not as suspicious!
