Rumours circulated the castle rather easily, particularly, within the girl's dormitory. It was no surprise that a few nights ago, Meiyu eavesdropped the girls discussing the Potions Championship, the conversation quickly diverting to those with potion making talent and then to a love potion, given the approach of Valentine's Day. Despite not being a potions prodigy, Meiyu briefly recalled reading on the love potion, referred as Amortentia, though, difficult for her to even pronounce; taking intrigue particularly in that potion only to learn it was not on the first year curriculum. By then, the window of opportunity would disappear, the lionesses target likely to be out of her life by then, for the better.
Yet, Meiyu's interest in the snake a few years above stemmed from intrigue towards his character. Besides, it was highly unlikely a mere twelve year old would begin to comprehend the intricacies of love; frequently resorting to physical altercations with the opposite gender. As she fell into a trace, halfheartedly listening to the chatter in the dormitory, Meiyu's mind quickly convinced her that it would serve as a perfect distraction from the relentless paranoia she had developed, often referring to it as a plague.
Hearing of a seventh year Slytherin, decent at potion making, Meiyu ears chirped with anticipation at the newfound opportunity which aligned perfectly with the stars. Accompanied by the perfect accomplice, Aodhan Shaw, who would be the perfect mule in the grandiose scheme; unfortunately, succumbing himself as yet another victim of Meiyu's tactics. It was the least he could do, given the coup he staged with coercing her the gruesomely tedious task to attend and watch Broom Racing. Never again, would she be seen in the vicinity of the Broom Racing Tracks, even if it provided her with the opportunity to observe the only eye candy of the castle.
Once more, it all appeared perfectly, Aodhan was already waiting for her next command, surely loitering somewhere within the castle and no doubt able to find her rather quickly. Wasting no time listening to the gossip of the afternoon, Meiyu rushed out of the confinements of the girl's dormitory, briskly rushing past passer-by's lounging in the common room and out of the concealed lion's den, marching excitedly down to the dungeons. Her feet moved somewhere between a joyful skip and an army march, enabling the young girl to brisk through surrounding students, at times, almost bumping into the few who littered the corridors with their presence. Soon, a head of blonde hair came into her vision, Meiyu's lips curved into a grin as she increased her pace and grabbed the boy from his shoulders, her grip tightening on him as she hurriedly pushed him away.
"Come Aodhan, the plan is in motion!" She chimed, loosening her grip on him once they approached closer, her mind racing with too many thoughts; mostly, the success percentile of her newest scheme. Yet, a thought forced her to stop in her tracks amidst her journey towards the dungeons, standing stationary in the corridors as she continued to ponder. How would she find the potions master? The only thing she had in its entirety to go by, was a name she had already forgotten; her mind too preoccupied with how groundbreaking the whole idea was. Turning to face Aodhan with a scowl on her face, she eyed the boy who's expression was unreadable, once more, failing to account for his willingness to join.
"Do you know a potions master called Coconut Bristle?" She inquired whilst glaring at the boy, carefully enunciating the name she tried to remember, although, it sounded like a horrible pseudonym. "Who names their child Coconut, besides, I need to find them urgently." Meiyu resumed, sighing discontentedly at the metaphorical wall she found amidst her journey of seeking the love potion which would solve all her questions.
Immediately drowning in sorrow, the horrid voice in her mind urged her it was all a fad, surely there was not a potion master named Coconut who would willingly aid her, yet, it was worth the attempt, albeit fable.

· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·After a joyfully uneventful week, Koko was almost glad to have a weekend to herself, too. She spent some of her time outside—her morning runs could not stand to be forgotten, after all, nor could Quidditch practice—but as the chilly winter weather threatened to otherwise keep her stuck indoors, she tended to find other ways to pass the time. She paced the corridors, sometimes smiling and sometimes glowering at younger kids, and she even went so far as to read out of boredom.
Her turn towards astute studiousness lasted perhaps the better half of a day before Koko trudged out of the library and back to the corridors, where she could induce either fear or astonishment in others. Today, though, was also a day where she would not be disappointed to simply remain one in a crowd of many, perhaps aided by her small stature in her quest to roam freely.
She gazed upon a few portraits as she strolled by, her heeled mary janes clicking against the stone floor, jolting the subjects of a few portraits from their sleep. Although it should not have induced humour, Koko found a small smirk on her lips as she continued her trek. She ended up in front of a window, and she set her messenger bag on the ground next to her. A light haze encircled some of the trees on the ground, and the sun hung low in the overcast sky, granting everything an ethereal glow despite the cloudy weather. Koko smiled warmly at the sight, perfectly content to remain here until she heard nearby voices.
'Who names their child Coconut, besides, I need to find them urgently.'
Koko bit back a snicker—Coconut!? What a name!—and glanced at the two younger kids who had appeared. The warmth in her gaze only lessened minutely, replaced by mirth glittering in her amber eyes and a wry, amused half-smile on her red-painted lips. She turned, leaning against the wall, and crossed her arms over her chest so she could properly observe this strange conversation.· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·

Confused by the useless information the pair had at hand, mostly accredited by the fact that the pseudonym she'd come up with was beginning to fade like a memory, tossed aside in her mind as she fixated on the overall aim behind her search. Though, as turned to face her partner in crime, Meiyu was immediately met by Aodhan's smile which almost engulfed him in whole, petrifying the young girl as though he had some malicious intent behind his sudden joy; yet, it was likely accredited to the mere fact that a long waited plan was finally in motion.
In truth, she had no idea what prompted the sudden infatuation she had for the Slytherin, unfortunately selecting him as a victim, unbeknownst to the poor upperclassman for the terror that he would quickly succumb. With Aodhan's smile dropping faster than it had formed, Meiyu scowled at the reaction, fearing the rumour which had circulated was mere lies, wasting both their time whilst amidst pursuit for for a potion they had little to no information on.
"I don't think it's a password, I'm more than certain that's the name. Unless it's shortened and I misheard, but that cannot be true." She nodded once he paused, tilting her head in confusion as to why he'd done so with his main purpose serving as the reincarnation of Sherlock Holmes. Besides, it would be no fun to do this alone, not to mention, it served as discreet payback for forcing her to attend the most boring broom racing match in the history of sporting events held at the horrid school.
Pondering on revealing the truth to the latter, fearing for onlookers, Meiyu took a moment to briefly glance around, watching the few students pass by idly, paying no mind to the two gossiping in the corridors. Content they were not under watchful eyes, Meiyu diverted her gaze back to Aodhan, lowering her voice slightly before resuming, "I heard about it in the dorms, something about a powerful potion master, Coco something, who's capable of brewing a love potion and that my beloved Aodhan, is what I am after." Sighing once more, it was unlikely he'd understand infatuation, her own being heightened merely by the voice echoing in her mind, urging her to pursue the mysterious figure from the courtyard.
"Have you heard of the love potion? The girls said it's capable of making someone fall in love with you, given that ball boy is a conniving little bastard snake, it's truly the only way to get to him and have him understand my sentiment." She nodded eagerly, her eyes widening as she spoke quickly, her gaze evidently malicious given her desire. Yet, there was a reason this was not on the curriculum for first years, the strength of the potion and danger that would follow in suit should be enough to stray anyone away; all but Meiyu, who was more than adamant that the plan would work. In theory, the only hinderance was the lack of ability to brew such a potion, lacking necessary resources such as ingredients, naturally, the participants willingness would also raise issues; though, had Meiyu been in this predicament, she'd willingly take the potion merely out of intrigue, subjecting herself as a test bunny.
Fixated on Aodhan's own gaze, she cautiously watched for any reaction, partially fearing he'd back out at the idea of such a scheme, despite her desire to accomplish something unheard of within her first year at the institution. "If you're not willing, you can go." She spoke with no emotion, her expression refusing to falter as she maintained eye contact with the latter lion, almost as though she was testing his morals.

· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·The longer Koko listened to the younger students talk, the more she wondered if she ought to be concerned for the next generation. A... password? at a restaurant? The idea made her purse her lips slightly in thought, but before she could process what that might look like, the conversation had progressed. Goodness, children spoke quickly.
The lighter-haired child had his hands on his hips in a pose that would have made Koko laugh if she weren't so focused on seeming as if she really weren't listening in on their conversation. She let her light brown gaze travel to the window so that she couldn't really be caught in observance of the youths. The two seemed to be searching for something — or, as the girl's voice soon revealed, rather someone.
...a powerful potions master, Coco something...
Oh, now she was listening.
She angled her chin the slightest bit to better hear the conversation, and, oh! She had to stop herself from smiling when she once again turned back to gaze in the direction of the children. Koko took a small step forward, and then another, a polite expression on her face as she gazed curiously at the two youths. 'Forgive the intrusion, but you're not referring to amortentia, are you?' She paused. 'I've certainly heard of the wonders that such a brew could wreak, but I've not yet had the pleasure of seeing its effects myself.' Only then did she offer the children a small smile. 'It is rather fun to brew, though.'
Koko stretched her fingers before holding out a hand in introduction. 'I'm Koko, by the way.' Whether or not the children graced her with a handshake, she would maintain her easygoing exterior. 'I have to say, I'm curious as to what use two younger students might make of amortentia. Is there not enough love to go around?'· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·

Far too engrossed in the motion of her long awaited plan, the failure of adequate planning which involved covering all her bases warranted the intrusion of another; this time, it was an unwanted figure pestering in what the two first years wished to achieve — granted, Aodhan's involvement was almost unnecessary. Though, Meiyu could not accomplish this alone. Besides, Aodhan had become indebted to her, forcing the young girl to witness an excruciatingly boring game of broom racing where once more, the once proud house of Gryffindor, failed to secure another win for the house. Oddly enough, the girl who had monetarily become a hinderance in both Meiyu's eyes and plan of action, had an alluring appearance, enough to pry Meiyu's eerie glare off Aodhan and onto the girl.
Graced with amber eyes that almost bored into her dark brown eyes, Meiyu's pupils swiftly shifted to her luscious blonde hair, styled perfectly and suiting her delicately carved features. She was beautiful, alluring enough to make her mind scramble, freeing her from a mind which persisted with racing thoughts. Additionally, the light scent of roses heightened her senses, reminiscent to a garden on a midsummer's day; furthering the sudden pull she felt towards the older girl who appeared imperfect under the lionesses gaze. All but for one thing, her height. Barely standing two inches taller than Meiyu, the lack of height difference forced her to question whether girl who had presented herself before them truly was an upperclassman; yet, such beauty was yet to showcase within the vast range of first years roaming the castle, very few as alluring in comparison to her dear Evpraksiya who's beauty and grace would prove to be untouchable.
Nodding in response as she chimed in, infatuated by her looks alone, Meiyu eagerly listened as the beautiful girl resumed, brow raising at the mention of it fun to brew. As she extended her hand, Meiyu shoved past Aodhan to extend her own in return, a custom she was partially used to given her upbringing, yet reserved it at times for those who she had deemed worthy of an introduction. It was when she mentioned her name — Koko, did Meiyu's eyes widen slightly, her stoic expression unfaltering despite the betrayal of her expressive eyes. "You're Koko?" She muttered with bewilderment, despite the verbal confirmation moments ago. Immediately shaking her head to regain some form of composure and overall desire to stay fixated on the motion she had proposed to Aodhan, Meiyu retracted her hand back to her side, inching a few steps back near the boy who became her impromptu guard dog.
"You would think there is enough love to flood the castle with the season of love being a few weeks away," Meiyu began with a discontent sigh, the mere thought of students engrossed in love being enough to prompt a visit to the Hospital Wing. "Unfortunately, it's not the case, besides, it's far less fun and I highly doubt any mere mortal could begin to fathom true infatuation and the ability it has to take over you." She resumed half-heartedly rambling as she unwillingly confided in the beautiful girl. In essence, Meiyu's infatuation had only worsened with the involvement of her paranoia upon her awaited return to the castle; forcing her to fill her days with mundane tasks, primarily centered around attending classes where she either stared into space or attempted to maintain focus despite her inability to succumb to slumber each evening.
In truth, the idea came into fruition one evening during Astronomy. Mesmerised by a topic on cosmic rays as she read in her textbook after accidentally turning to the wrong page, too tired to seek the actual page required for the lesson, the images imprinted in the text book lulled her into another dimension; reminiscing the racing match and how he had once caused victory to the snakes. Unable to escape her mind, the boy plagued her almost on a parable level to the actual plague she had the misfortune of experiencing. Once she had returned to her dormitory that evening, the persistent chatter from a few girls and the potion in question sparked a newfound desire in Meiyu's mind, spending most of that evening plotting a plan, until one night the girls mentioned Koko and her ability to brew potions. By this point, all points had connected and it dawned on Meiyu that the Coco in question, stood before them.
"I hear you can brew the love potion, for that, I am at your service. With both eyes and ears all around the castle, I can get you any information you desire, a hefty price were you of invaluable service to me." She recited, her posture instinctively straightening as she proposed both a deal, and herself, ready to be taken under Koko's wing should she desire. Her cat like dark brown eyes refusing to shift away from Koko's own alluring amber eyes, which were beginning to entice Meiyu deeper into what her mind screamed at her to be a trap.

· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·Koko refrained from lifting a flawlessly-arched eyebrow when the girl rushed to shake her hand — she did not miss the change in the boy's expression, but she did not react to it, either. Instead, upon hearing the girl echo her name in a manner that made her sound almost shocked, Koko's lips curved into a mirthful smirk. She deigned to offer a small nod in response to the question.
Koko did not refrain from raising both of her eyebrows when the girl said the word infatuation. So this wasn't about 'love'. What use could these children possibly have for a potion that caused infatuation? If they were that self-aware, they ought to be using it for someone else... and who was Koko to get in the way of some harmless scheming? She let her gaze shift from the girl to the boy, who seemed to have shrunk away, and then she studied the girl once again. Her tone was measured when she said, 'Well, you're right about one thing. Amortentia won't make someone fall in love. But, yes, infatuation is certainly possible... and perhaps more fun.'
Did she have any semblance of personal experience with amortentia-induced infatuation? Of course not. Even if she had wanted to woo someone, Koko would not have required the use of a potion like amortentia. That was only useful for those who severely lacked charisma or otherwise misunderstood the potion's effects. She had brewed it out of curiosity, and there really was a sense of power she held in having what was toted as the 'most powerful love potion on the market' in her possession. She would be willing to use it, to barter with it, to defame it, sure. Did she believe in it? Absolutely not; there were far more effective ways to capture someone's affections. But did she believe in the power the possession of the potion would grant her? Why else brew it?
That had to have been why her expression changed when the girl said the words at your service. It reminded her of how she'd felt when she'd spooked Matthew in the woods, except this time she had no odd pang of a conscience telling her she was doing something wrong. Koko simply continued to smile, her amber gaze mirroring the girl's dark gaze in that she maintained eye contact all while listening to the other girl's words.
The thing was, the deal wasn't all that good. Information, and that was it? Koko was the secretary of the Hogwarts Headliner. If she wanted information, she could have it just by asking, and if someone wouldn't give it to her, she was certain she could cajole some of the younger students to worm it out of them. Her smirk faded as she pursed her lips, still staring at the girl, her arms now crossed over her chest as she tapped her foot on the ground, making a show of thinking about the deal.
Except it was then that the boy spoke. She'd truly thought the girl to be the mastermind of this operation, so Koko finally broke eye contact with her and glanced at the boy, raising a single eyebrow. Her amber gaze would not reflect very much interest, likely seeming more like a laser-point stare. 'Really?' She surveyed the boy, then the girl, as if to convey, Is that really all you've got? before adding, 'I'll need a bit more than that. Two galleons? That's practically nothing. Hardly enough to cover the price of the ingredients.'
Was she being a bit unfair? Perhaps. They seemed young. But if they were at her service, then she really was at liberty to request what she wanted. Her half-smile had returned as she glanced from the girl to the boy. 'Although, ease of information plus just a bit more money could very well convince me, I'm sure.'· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·

More often than not, Meiyu's perception of those around her were often limited to few words. Hans of Berlin, a psych ward escapee. Evpraksiya, the apple of her eye. Aodhan? Surely the phrase 'loser' would not have been the first word she'd deduce for the boy, dubbing him as a mini-Holmes who had the misfortune of being wrapped around her finger. Clearly exhibiting far more knowledge and situational awareness as how he had frequently found himself lured into her schemes, most notably, any surrounding the boy whom she had grown vastly intrigued by. Yet, she was dumbfounded. Puzzled as to how the persona he had alluded as a childish boy, enamoured by wit, had now fallen with the reveal of her ulterior motives.
Still, she refused to give him the benefit of doubt, which would in return foil the plan she maliciously set in motion. "Given your position as second-string seeker, you can answer that yourself." She bit back with the same venom he unknowingly tossed her way. Of course it was childish for her to resort to such measures, shaming him for something he had no control over, yet, she had contributed more to the wretched house they shared than he did; with her leaving her previous duel mostly unscathed. For one, she despised the house, yet contributed more in regards to the house points attained during their year within the institution; which was a lot more than Aodhan had done, sitting benched for most matches. The sheer lack of appreciation for her effort to include him in such schemes had only aided the brewing anger, which would spill any second.
Aodhan had only worsened the situation by insulting Koko with a singular galleon in return for the potion, which wad forced a groan to part Meiyu's lips in sheer embarrassment. Internally noting to never bring the boy around anyone until he had received sufficient training in bartering, should she wish to drag him along for another scheme in the future — though, his chances were slimming by the second.
Lightly nudging the shorter boy away from the beauty who graced their presence, Meiyu inched closer to Koko, observing her movements and how her gaze shifted to the broke boy who had no concept of bribery. "Pipe down Aodhan." Meiyu chimed with a grit, attempting to conceal the displeasure in the horrid offer which would likely insult the latter within the conversation. "Ease of information? There's only so much that one can find within these horrid halls, though, one piece may serve fruitful as it centers around you." Meiyu continued, spewing whatever nonsense she could to attain some idea as to whether Koko was onboard or not, besides, she had the easy job. Yet, the longer her eyes remained gazing at the beauty who stood before them, the unwavering demeanour had only hinted to Meiyu that she must try harder.
"Information and 30 galleons, that's all I can do, given the cost of ingredients and labour, I think that's fair. If need be, I'll attain the ingredients for you from within the castle." She offered, her tone dipping slightly as her eyes diverted to the passerby's, moving closer to Koko and whispering; "Information pertaining to a certain person who holds similar infatuation." Meiyu inched back following the revelation, besides, two could play at that game, and it sure as hell would not be Aodhan with his low-balling.
