@Dan Palmer @Emma Hill @Saskia Nicholson

To The Captain
I am DeRook, you may or may not know who I am just yet, but I am the Captain of Gryffindor's Quidditch team. I am inviting you to meet with me and the other Captains. A peace summit before the war begins between our houses.

come and meet the rest to get to know who you will be facing on the field. Or dont, and Ill know all I need to about you already.

Your future defeat,
DeRook

Kyle walked down the hall in his crimson and gold Quidditch Robes, his beater armor strapped on(minus the helmet), and his Captain patch proudly worn. a couple days ago Kyle had sent out a letter to each of the new captains for the Quidditch teams. He wanted to get to meet them. See who they were, what kind of person they are, what they value, how seriously they take the game. If he was going to be charged with leading his team to victory against these people he needed to know everything he could to increase their chances. And the enemy deserved to know just who it was they were in battle with. To Kyle this was so much more than just a game. This was about glory, this was about proving he is better than they are. This was about proving to himself he was more than just that jerk kid that fights.

Kyle opened the door and stepped inside. once inside he began to move desks and tables around until there was a single round table, mostly, in the center of the room with four chairs evenly spaces around. once he was ready he stood on the opposite side of the table around the door and crossed his arms, waiting for the others to arrive.

Dan walked to the designated room in his Quidditch robes. However, as usual, he was barefoot. If he was going to go to a meeting with people who just wanted to act all big and bad, he was at least going to be comfortable.

To be honest the only reason whatsoever that Dan was even bothering to come to this was to see if this Derook guy was as much of a pompous, overconfident bellend as he thought, and how the letter insinuated, he was.
Dan guessed immediately that this was just so he could scope out the competition, and perhaps try to intimidate. Just from the letter, he would have been able to tell that he fit the Gryffindor stereotype perfectly. Decent plans and ideas, but poorly executed.
Fortunately, Dan knew exactly how to suss out people like this.

He walked through the door and padded into the room. Oddly, Derook was the only person here. Did he want one on one time with him? Yeah, this one was NOT his type at all.
When he looked at Dan, Dan would hop slightly and waving his hand exitedly.
"Hi! I'm Dan Palmer! Nice to meetcha!"

As usual, Dan made no attempt to hide his Irish accent.
"I guess yer Derook, huh? Gryffindor Quidditch Captain? I'm the Slytherin Quidditch Captain, an I can't WAIT to get started!"

To any outsiders, it might have seemed like the newly appointed Quidditch captain was angry about something. A scowl was plastered on her face, and every step she took was faster than the last. What could have possibly set her in a mood? Maybe the pressure was getting to her. Or her teammates were acting like idiots and she couldn't stand it anymore. It could have been something unrelated to Quidditch, although it was easier to assume it was, especially when she was walking around wearing her Quidditch robes and her Captain badge.

The truth was that Saskia wasn't mad. She wasn't as happy as she would normally appear to be, but she wasn't completely livid either. The letter she had received from the Gryffindor team captain might have grated at her nerves- after all, the guy who wrote it sounded like an arrogant jerk who thought that everyone was somehow inferior to him, but it was only a mere annoyance. He was a typical Gryffindor, only wanting to win for the sake of glory and to rub it in everyone else's faces. Or at least that was what the letter made him out to be. Maybe there was more to him than what he appeared to be in the letter. It wasn't like she met the guy in person. Although that was the reason why she was roaming in the hallways. To meet this DeRook, as well as the other team captains. She just hoped the other two captains would be less pompous than the Gryffindor.

Personally, Saskia wasn't planning to get so invested in Quidditch. She was considering playing for Hufflepuff, but she didn't think she'd get the role, much less become the captain. There were so many other experienced students who could have surely done a better job at keeping track of their team, at least compared to a second year. In fact, there were plenty of people who expressed their doubts at the thought of someone like her to lead a team without things going wrong. It was written on their faces, and sometimes, she could hear them talking about it behind her backs. But that aside, that only made the girl even more determined to prove everyone wrong. That she would be able to take on the responsibility to regulate a team and lead everyone to victory. Or even if she couldn't, she would do her best all the same. Most of all, she wanted to prove to everyone that she was more than some soft puffball who everyone could kick around. It would take more than that for her to go down.

Upon entering the meeting room, Saskia immediately noticed two people there. She could only assume that the boy clad in red and gold was DeRook and that the other boy in the green was the Slytherin Captain. The only person missing was the Ravenclaw Captain, although the Hufflepuff suspected they were still on their way. She had to say that she hadn't met any of these people yet, and with how the Gryffindor wrote that letter, things might end up tense. Still, he was right about one thing- it was a good chance to get to know everyone and better acquaint with the people they were all going to face off against.

Taking another step in the room, Saskia looked at the two boys, a serious expression on her face. Maybe in different circumstances, she would have greeted them more cheerfully, but it was hard to tell whether these two would judge her just as quickly as those other people did before. Especially DeRook. She could potentially let her guard down if she was sure she could do so- she didn't want everyone else to think she was completely made out of stone, but if she had to keep this up to make sure people took her seriously, she would have to keep that frown on her face. Hopefully she didn't come off as too unfriendly.

"Hello, everyone. I'm Saskia Nicholson. I'm the Hufflepuff Quidditch Captain," she greeted, keeping her voice as neutral as she could while also keeping a confident air around her. "I look forward to getting to know you all and eventually seeing you in the field."

Reading the message put her into a competitive state, two weeks ago and even to this day. Emma was somewhat eager and reluctant to meet the consignor of the letter simultaneously. Scoffing as she shook her head, she folded the parchment back inside the blue and bronze garments she used on the field. Today, however, seemed to be an exception for her entire outfit.

Instead of tying her hair back, the teen allowed it to bounce up and down with each stride she took towards the room. Her equipment would have been completed if it weren't for the absence of her beaters' bat and a small captain pin she'd left resting on the cover of her luggage. They were all captains, what was the point of flashing around a medal in four contrasting colors? Her noisy pearl bracelet lingered on her arm, clattering together as she swung her arms back and forth, scanning for the room. Somewhere near the ballroom. It was her only hint to the room's location. Multiples times the brunette passed the room to use the restroom or even to show off an uncomfortable gown. Finally, there it was and her heart began to accumulate gradually.

Emma was a bit skeptical about coming, the letter she'd received from the Gryffindor captain wasn't promising her an easy person to get along with. However, it seemed informal not to come and she doubted her strategy had been given away. She couldn't accuse him of his personality. The stereotype of Gryffindor collided perfectly with his tone. Temptation had persuaded her to write back, perhaps even starting more drama than necessary, but it wouldn't do any good. She was a competitive person, but initial impressions mattered, and she didn't want to appear as the player that would do anything to win. She would leave that to the other captains.

Entering the room, mahogany-colored eyes met the three Quidditch captains and a surge of relief dawned on her as she realized she wasn't the only female. A brief wave and a genuine grin met them as she took her seat and crossed her arms, letting the introductions began as she kept her smile, listening to the Irish captain ramble on. The name of the other female captain, Saskia, was essentially the only name she heard. She had achieved a knack for being late, but at least she wasn't that late.

"Hey, I'm Emma," she gestured down to her navy blue robes as if it were obvious. "You're DeRook? Last name or nickname?" The eagle asked curiously, but a strong voice could be caught underneath, mentally challenging the reason for their gathering.

As the other captains walked in Kyle grew more and more excited. He was glad they actually took the invitations and decided to show up, It was a good sign of things to come that he was going to be competing with people that weren't above meeting with 'the enemy' as it were. He would look at the three of them before returning a smirk of his own "Nice to meet you Emma, Saskia, and Dan. you already know my last name but my full name is Kyle DeRook. The lads back home call me Rook, if such a thing strikes ya fancy" Much like Dan Kyle also spoke with a distinct Irish Accent.

Kyle grabbed the back of the chair in front of him and motioned for the others to take a seat before he did as well, relaxing into the comfortable chair. Kyle rested his elbows on the table and clasped his hands together before leaning forward, his chin resting against his hands as he looked at all of the other captains in turn, taking in all he could. Suddenly he leaned back as he spoke. "Alright! The reason I called you guys here is pretty straight forward. We are all Captains of our team and soon we are going to be leading our teams against each other on the field of battle. Just want to say, for starters, While on the pitch we are enemies in the war that is Quidditch, Off the Pitch we are all on the same side as Captains for Hogwarts. So I want to assure you there will be no foul play, cheating, sabotaging or anything like that from anyone on my team. At least nothing that I will condone and make sure doesn't go unpunished. I would like us to all agree to this, If not out of respect to one another then out of Respect to the game."

Kyle wanted to win, and he planned on doing everything he could to make sure his team were the Champions of every Season he was the Captain for. But Kyle had a deep respect for the game and felt there was no glory to be had in a victory achieved through crooked means.
