Sebastian Drake didn’t hate flying. He was just really, really bad at it. It was a safety hazard for himself to put him on a broom without strict supervision, proven by last class when he’d lost control over his broom— AKA the broom had ascended too quickly for his liking and he had in panic jumped off and got stuck in a tree until someone took enough pity on him to get him down. After a long time of screaming for help. Realistically he could have climbed down, but that would risk him getting splinters and maybe falling on his ass– what did they expect him to do?! The rest of his classmates had snickered behind his back, but he was too clueless and care-free to really care about what they thought. Either way, he had a reputation as a shit flyer now.

Previous horrendous experience aside, Sebastian was kind of looking forward to the next flying lesson. When he wasn't getting stuck in a tree, it was something freeing about flying on a broom. Besides, a more stylish wizard on a broom had never existed. Would he ever be good enough to actually fly further than the courtyard? Probably not, but he arrived in class in a cheerful mood. He was determined it would go great, having already forgotten last week's fiasco.

The rest of the class had not forgotten, however. The boy received a mix of cautious and amused glances, but he didn’t pay attention, already about to pick up where he left off last week. “Up!” He said while smiling down at the broom like his perfect smile would charm the broom to listen, holding his hand above the broom handle. It quickly pulled up from the ground and firmly landed in his hand. Hey, he’d gotten the hang of this!

Some classmate– probably coming from a place of actual concern for his safety– suggested he should wait for a teacher's guidance before he got on that broom. “Nah, thanks though!” Sebastian shrugged them off with an easy smile, hearing it as friendly advice rather than an actual warning. His survival instincts weren’t that great.

Pushing off, he ascended into the sky—didn’t get very far before his broom wobbled beneath him, jerking to the side as he tried to find his balance. It’s fine! he told himself, grinning like he’d totally mastered the broom now. But his attention was elsewhere—his eyes darted around the other students, showing off for a few of the girls, and a boy he was close to, who were watching, too busy focusing on not crashing into another broomstick to notice where he was heading.

It was then he realized too late that his path was veering dangerously toward someone already in the air. He barely had time to shout a startled, “Watch out!” before— Crash! He collided with her at full(slow) speed, enough for him to be sent flying— without his broom. Sebastian didn’t see what happened to the girl before he had landed on the ground with a thud. Ouch!

Having received an impromptu flying lesson a day earlier, Meiyu felt slightly more confident than she did two days ago when it came to the intricacies of flying. Still extremely discontent with her low performance in the class, she opted to observe the first year flying class which graciously did not align with her own timetable, deciding to skip a class of transfiguration not only out of distaste for the subject but desperately seeking a breath of fresh air. In the months that had quickly passed since her return to the castle following the atrocities that had occurred over Christmas, the barbaric voice which had vastly lessened its plague on the young girl, enabled Meiyu to truly enjoy the delightful transition from a harsh winter to a breezy spring. Despite the arctic air lingering and forcing her to tighten the grip on her robes in desperate search for warmth, the blooming atmosphere urged her to follow her pursuit for an escape from the classroom prior to lunch.

Still sore from her day old injuries at the hand of a benched Quidditch player, Meiyu trudged onto the field, dragging her battered old broom once more, fortunately storing it bush a day before with hopes to return and infiltrate the class under a disguise, though the red accents on her uniform failed to provide adequate camouflage. Lingering near by, she observed her surroundings, contemplating whether it would be reasonable to retract her broom from its hidden location in attempts to develop her weak ability once more.

Unfortunately, her thoughts were immediately disturbed as a figure came crashing down on her. Startled and her limbs twisting once more in pain, unrecovered from yesterdays assault, she winced and pushed the figure away, struggling to stand as her mood quickly soured, quickly growing infuriated with the lack of success she had with flying; worsened by two broom-related assaults. Glancing down to brush off any dirt which had transferred onto her robes, her breathing pace quickened with her mind racing in search of the perfect string of insults to terrorise the assailant. Shifting her gaze with a crane of her neck, Meiyu's gaze softened at the brunette with emerald akin eyes, glowing as though they were part of her mother's jewels.

Shaking her head to avert her thoughts, the anger was not quick to subside, her brows furrowing in realisation of his awful flying ability — similar to her own. "What the hell is wrong with you? Are you that dumb you can't see where you're going?" She scoffed, rolling her eyes with growing irritation that he had ruined her attempt of infiltration. Fixating her gaze on him with a glare, she noted his demeanour once he rose, evidently a narcissistic male who thought they were better than others, it made sense. Why else would he fall off his broom far out from the class if he hadn't been showing off? Typically, the students within the horrid castle made it so easy to be read, far too expressive for Meiyu's liking, even if they had not outwardly expressed their inner emotions, the way this boy had carried himself made it rather easy for Meiyu to deduce. As she continued to glare, her eyes squinted slightly as she quickly realised she had seen the boy somewhere in passing before.

"I've seen you in the common room before." She muttered with a scoff, agitated that the culprit had to be a housemate, much to her demise. Though, she had to thank the heavens he was not part of a broom sport, his flying ability being as awful as the Gryffindor Quidditch and Broom Racing teams combined, failing to win any of their matches; another reason Meiyu began to detest flying, refusing to be associated with the house despite outwardly inheriting their lack of broom flying ability. As she parted her lips to resume, the demonic barbaric voice began its assault on her once more, though this time, far worse than she would ever imagine.

"Kill him."

"Kill!"

"Kill!!"

"Kill the boy!"

The voice persisted, luring her into what she would have deemed to be an act of self defence given what she had experienced. Most times, when the voice took its reign, Meiyu was unable to resist, growing weak and following it's commands. Entwined with irritation and hostility, she narrowed her gaze, fixated on the boys face which morphed into a devious yet devilish figure, forcing her to lunge at him, her palms rushing to his face and her nails attempting harshly digging into the skin with a newfound desire to harm him as much as possible. It was the least he deserved for worsening her day old injuries, for disturbing her peace and mostly, for being a man.
Meiyu attempts to attack Sebastian, fails due to Part-Veela ability and critical fail roll.

That had fucking hurt, he thought as he pushed up from his face-plant into the grass pitch. At least it was a softer landing than say, a cliff of rocks would have been. ”Sorry about that...” Sebastian mumbled sheepishly, glancing up at the victim of his terrible flying skills. It was another Gryffindor girl he sort of recognized from the common room, but they’d never spoken. Her gaze seemed to soften as their eyes met, so he offered a smile, relieved she wasn’t pissed. Or maybe not. The girl then yelled suddenly— scoffed, but he didn’t really see a difference when the words were so harsh— at him, as if she had a change of heart.

”I- I was focused on controlling my broom! Are you even in this class? You could have watched out!” Sebastian defended himself while jumping up on his feet, even if making sure you weren’t knocking into others might be a part of the arsenal of skills required for flying. And he did apologize!

The girl squinted her eyes at him and commented that she’d seen him in the common room before, an observation he’d done long ago already. Maybe she’d be nicer then, knowing they were housemates? It would be awkward of hating someone you were close to by default. ”Yes? Did you think I looked good?” Sebastian asked genuinely curious, but knew of course that he always looked good.

This was apparently not the right thing to say to her. In the flick of a switch, even if the air had been a bit hostile already— but he couldn’t have expected for her to attack him, the girl lunged at him in aggression. Fingers extended and nails clawing at his face. Screaming, he barely managed to capture her wrists before she could scratch his eyes out or something! He used his leverage of strength to tumble her to the side, on to the ground again and pinned her in place below him so she hopefully wouldn’t reach to hurt him. His face was too pretty to be messed up!

He stared down at her with wild confusion, and honestly some terror. ”What the fuck is wrong with you?! Are you crazy?!” Clearly!

Within the confinement of this wretched school, a thick air of some unspoken hierarchy centered around looks existed most notably; in men. The boy who stood before her, truly believed to be some kind of Greek God, with his foul appearance — despite Meiyu's momentary lapse in judgement and allure she had felt towards the latter. Upon closer inspection, formerly referred to the outburst and attack at the boy, the close proximity to his face briefly allowed her to note his features; despite being engrossed with rage, succumbing once more under the spell of the barbaric voice which refused to end its reign. Merely another troll-like creature with arrogance stood before her, rambling nonsense Meiyu cared little for, partially aiding her desire to attack once more.

With the situation escalating upon her brazen attack, lunging towards him and digging her well kept nails in — as deep as she could, Meiyu was far too preoccupied in clawing the boy's face to notice a shift in dynamic, the latter forcing her down, beneath him. One would naturally assume such movement would merely de-escalate the situation, forcing an assailant to calm down and reevaluate the predicament they had found themselves in. Though, Meiyu was not normal. Nor was she sane. His movement only aided in the bubbling of her anger, disgusted by the presence of the boy she opted to stay silent as he spewed more nonsense, resorting to childish insults much to her displeasure. "I'm the crazy one? Are you that inept that you can't even remember crashing into me, whilst I was minding my own business." She scoffed, attempting to pry him off her with a strong push, her limbs twisting in another attempt at freedom, though, to no avail.

Growing further agitated with his presence, primarily akin to the fact he was still on top of her, horrifying the young girl, Meiyu used her strength to her best ability, finally forcing the boy off her and not caring at all where he went. Frustrated and wincing in pain, she pried herself off the ground, gently brushing off any visible remnants of soil that tarnished the pristine uniform she often supported. Turning to face the familiar boy, her face morphed into visible disgust at the sight of him; scoffing with a turn of her head, gazing into the distance — Meiyu crossed her arms, deciding to finally respond to his earlier questions.

"It doesn't matter if I'm in this class, do not concern yourself with my matters." She affirmed, vocal tone slightly rising as the anger refused to subside; reminded that her prior attempt to gain additional flying time had proven to be fruitless — leaving her limbs throbbing in pain once more, worsening yesterday's injuries. "If you looked good, I would have recognised you immediately and put a name to your face," she resumed, scowling as she averted her gaze back to him, briefly going over his features once more, no-longer under an enchantment that had given her a lapse in judgement merely moments ago. Meiyu, was notably good at associating names with faces, a testament to her heritage that would conceal itself by her blood status as a half-blood, fortunately raised under a pureblooded family with their mannerisms vastly influencing her own. Evidently something the latter lacked, far too concerned with his own appearance despite it not being up to her standards, appearing inhumane with his symmetrical face and brown locks which contrasted his green eyes; a fatal flaw in her eyes. Athena would never dare to make careless mistakes, perhaps it was akin to his heritage, highly likely to be a mongrel of some sorts.

"Besides, you're ugly." Meiyu concluded, her stoic expression taking its rightful place on her delicate face, her gaze unwavering despite the disgust laced behind her eyes. Had she been a normal person, perhaps her reaction would differ, yet, aided by the demonic voice pestering her thought process, the longer her eyes remained on the boy, the urge to attack merely out of spite grew. "Are you a mongrel? It must be why there's something funny about you, it's like there is a shroud of dark clouds following you, ready to terrorise the students, you're half-troll right?" She asked bluntly, her eyes narrowing slightly as she fixated on his appearance once more, unable to pinpoint the odd feeling deeply rooted within her surrounding the not-so-stranger.

"It was an accident!" Sebastian retorted in exasperation. He hadn't crashed into her willingly. Definitely not if he'd known she try to attack him for it. With another attempted shove, Sebastian lost his balance and rolled over with a thud, onto the grass. Thank god it was dry. Grass spots on his clothes was the last thing he needed after this. Pulling himself up on his feet, he glanced over at her in wary. Now that she was free again, he couldn't rule out that the unhinged Gryffindor girl wouldn't to to assault him once more.

What she actually did was way worse than anything she could have done to him physically. Well, except maybe break his nose or something. His face fell into a look of contempt at her words. The girl called him ugly. Not only ugly, but asked if he was half-troll! Excuse me? Sebastian had never heard anything more absurd in his life! Not to mention that he came from a muggle household- did half-trolls even exist? His own heritage was at this point unknown to him too. At least her insults were creative, even if it pissed him off like nothing else. It was generally difficult to piss Sebastian off, but this did the trick.

Sebastians eyes flashed dangerously with his own urge to attack her. God, he really wanted to slap a bitch right now. But that would be kind of mean, wouldn't it? Why was he so nice?!

If her face hadn't been deadpanned glaring at him, the veela would have assumed her to be joking. She couldn't be fucking serious. No one looked at Sebastians unparalled beauty and thought he was ugly! Not their type, sure. Not everyone could have good taste. But ugly, he was not!

"Half-troll?" he echoed icily, his tone dipped in mock amusement. "That’s rich coming from someone with split ends and a wardrobe that screams discount bin at Madam Malkin’s." He was shaking, but not visibly. Rage churned in his stomach like acid. He couldn’t hit her—he wouldn’t. He wasn’t about to break a nail over a feral Gryffindor. But he could destroy her in other ways. More elegant ways. Crueler, even. “You know,” he said, stepping just a bit closer, lowering his voice into something silkier, more venomous, “you should really be careful about throwing around insults like that. People might start looking a little closer at your face.”

There it was, that spark of cruelty. It didn't matter if she was pretty. Sebastian had an eye for detail, and he was vindictive. He noticed even the slightest flaws and used them as weapons, if the situation called for it. Any breakouts, stress-lines and uneven makeup. All the things that could be said out loud and etched into someone’s self-image for years. He wouldn’t even need to yell. He could just… imply.

"On top of being a dirty mongrel, you're evidently a mudblood too." Meiyu scoffed with displeasure, unamused by his weak attempts at inflicting a string of verbatim directed towards her. Besides, it was more than evident that the latter lacked social class to recognise she was in uniform after all. "Do you think I care enough about this wretched school to support decent robes? Is that what your sense of so-called fashion comes down to or are you that poor that you're supporting the uniform twenty four seven?" She piqued, her stoic expression shifting into on of sheer disgust at the insinuation that he'd likely wear his robes all the time — which would not be wrong of her to assume given the inability of men to dress adequately to her own standards.

The boy clearly had some form of ego, likely accredited to his appearance which albeit, conformed to the conventional beauty standards, if not exceeding it. Though, Meiyu would rather skin herself alive than ever admit that, refusing to give the opposite gender any form of compliment nor satisfaction for something so mundane as complimenting their appearance. Besides, if his idea of stooping low was a poor attempt at imitating a seducing voice which only made her skin crawl and lightly threaten her, then perhaps Meiyu would beat him with the horrid broom that had discarded somewhere nearby upon his collision. "There is nothing wrong with my face." She added bluntly, maintaining her gaze on the boy who evidently lacked any form of critical thinking.

Meiyu was never one to over analyse her own features — her grandmother did that far enough for her own liking, ridiculing the girl from a young age to ensure she'd conform to the standards she had set, upholding the family values of what a young woman should convey herself as which also included taking care of her skin, hair and supporting exquisite gowns when the event called for it. She had never been one to ridicule others for their appearance unless they were boys. The thought alone of such creatures made her face morph into one of pure disgust. It was unfortunate enough that she had not been shipped off to an all-girls boarding primary school; instead, her inability to make genuine connections with others had worsened her prior school experience, later translating to her time in the wretched castle. With Hogwarts truly accepting any and everyone, it was to no surprise such vermin men free-roamed the castle like a flock of rats, as if the confinement's of the common room had not been enough torture for Meiyu.

Consequently, the incident over Christmas break had only fuelled her hatred towards men, particularly, egotistical ones. Perhaps if the latter who stood before her, invested time in education rather than appearing in horror before her at the mere remarks she had made towards his appearance, albeit alluring, the company of the opposite gender would be far more enjoyable. Alas, men were dumb and utterly useless. Not once had a man defended her, though, it was not like she needed defending, especially from such creatures who's narcissistic tendencies would suffice as a punishment for merely being in the presence of such behaviour. As her face morphed into a grimace, she scratches on the latter's delicate face had halted the motion, forcing her lips to slightly curve upwards in content at the damage she had done.

"Are you going to get out of my way, or, do I need to rip your face off for you to truly get the hint?" Meiyu harshly spat, growing further irritated by the presence of the troll-like boy she had the misfortune of sharing a house with.

Mudblood? Sebastians face was one big question mark. He couldn’t take offense to the term, because he frankly had no idea what it meant. Living in his pretty himbo, muggle bubble meant he had been shielded off to many of the wizarding world prejudices. ‘Mud’ and ‘blood’ didn’t sound like anything pretty, though. Either way, he didn’t linger on the claim about dirty blood, because that would take a while. Instead he focused on things he understood, like fashion.

Sebastian blinked down at her school robes, lingering on the Gryffindor house crest, dumbly realizing as the girl said it, that she probably didn’t wear it all the time. Most of the time, words left his mouth before he had a chance to really think them through – if he thought at all. As a matter of fact, he himself was sporting the same outfit! Albeit, in his opinion, more well-kept and ironed. Maybe not now with grass patches sticking to the fabric after his fall, but usually. “-Well, there’s a difference between a nice school uniform, and second hand.” No offense to people who needed, or just enjoyed buying second hand clothing – Seb was just not one of those people.

Not only had she called him an ugly, half-troll, now she claimed he was poor too! Him? POOR? Please. Sebastian scoffed loudly, every new claim that left her mouth was more absurd than the last. “Girl,” he began, patronizing. “The day I’m poor is the day you can pull off these robes better than I do. So…" he pretended to consider it with a pout of his lip, before stating the obvious, "never.” Any pieces of clothing, really. Seb even chuckled as he said it; it simply wasn’t true on any day of the week, proving that everything this girl said was pure bullshit. Yes, even school robes looked fabulous on him.

"No, I'm obviously not wearing school robes everyday of the week." He clarified with a roll of his eyes, like it wasn't obvious already. Seb wore exclusively Valentino! "Trust me, sweetie, I have seen you around the common room. Your wardrobe says a lot… none of it impressive." Not a single outfit of her could come to mind, but that wasn't the point.

Seb couldn’t even be that offended by being called poor, because it was so farfetched that it was laughable. His dad was a celebrity, his mother so gorgeous she could smoke this girl and her entire bloodline in one go, they had a luxurious villa in San Fran, along with the best house you could find in the shit hole called Liverpool. He could fly first class back and forth over the Atlantic ocean every weekend of the year, if he wanted to. No, the real crime was being compared to a troll!

His insult didn’t land as hard as he’d hoped; she simply stated that there was nothing wrong with her face. Fine, objectively speaking, the girl was definitely on the better side of average. But the second she came for the one thing that defined him – his gorgeousness and being perfect – Sebastian couldn’t even appreciate a pretty girl when he saw one. The troll comment had single-handedly earned her a nemesis in Sebastian Drake! It might not sound very intimidating, and there was surely worse people to have on your back, but one thing was for sure: he held grudges for a long... long fucking time. Maybe not today. Maybe not with magic; he didn't know that many spells even if he wanted to. One way or another, Sebastian would eventually get his payback. Mark his words.

Usually not cheap with compliments where deserved, this bitch didn’t merit his recognition. Like he was speaking to something lacking a few brain cells and other essentials - ironically speaking - Sebastian gave her a pitiful smile and slow nod. "Sure, honey... Whatever you say." Like the only one who believed her delusions was her. Whatever she said to make herself sleep better at night. Without much of a fuss, he stepped out of the way to let her pass. Mentally he was bracing himself for another attack. Sebastian knew that he wouldn't win a physical fight against this feral psycho, hence why he didn’t push it more than necessary—his ego required maintenance, but not a hospital visit.
