Haven

I know... I know the rules well, and I know the dangers of breaking them just as well. And I knew the rules against late-night wandering better than anyone. I might get expelled, I might lose points for my house... but I cannot bring myself to care. Maybe, sometimes, I become selfish.

With thousands of hardships and troubles, I managed to get past the warden. Then, I reached a grand staircase. Seeing it, I smiled, took a deep breath, and slowly ascended… until I arrived at the Astronomy Tower. My smile grew wider—I was safe now. No one would come here at this hour.

My eyes gazed upon the moon, shimmering in its light. Almost all my sorrows faded away as I watched the moon and stars.

Thousands of stars were scattered across the vast, dark sky, so beautifully, and the deep red and blue clouds made it even more breathtaking. I thanked God—for how could anyone feel sorrow in front of such a sight?

Whenever sadness and loneliness weighed on me, stealing my sleep, tightening the lump in my throat, and filling my eyes with tears, I would take refuge here.

This place had become my sanctuary. Every night, I came here to take a fresh breath—to forget, even just a little. A cold wind blew, slipping through my hair. I wished I had a friend, so I wouldn’t have to come here alone. Yet, whether in solitude or among crowds, this place was beautiful. I didn’t want to leave anytime soon.

The theme was hope,
something more sacred than life.
