Finding a Platform
On the morning of the big day Noah and his parents drove him to King’s Cross station. They got out of their vehicle, grabbed Noah’s trunk and ticket and headed in. “Platform 9 ¾? Where is that?” Noah’s father Ben exclaimed. They searched the platform, but only found 9 and 10. They searched all over to no avail. “What if this all was some weird sick prank?” Ben said to his wife Sophie. “Shh, shh, Noah will hear you. Let’s just ask one of the attendants?” She replied.
The attendant was not any more helpful. In fact he chuckled when they asked, claiming he gets asked this at least once a year. “Well, now what?” Ben asked. They looked at the area between the 9th and 10th platform. Just a large brick wall and nothing else. There were others that seemed confused as well holding the same ticket. “Maybe this is for a television show?” Ben said frustrated. He started looking around for cameras.
Noah stayed quiet and unsure of what to think. His parents usually had answers for things or knew how to find them. He began to doubt that this was real. He had let his guard down and was super excited the whole week leading up to this. He started to abandon the dream he had of this and tried looking at the silver lining. He would be able tell Cam about this whole weird prank and get to go back to school with him.
It was then that something caught Noah’s eye. A kid around his age running straight for the wall between the platforms! Noah jumped up wanting to yell out to stop him, thinking he didn't see where he was going. That’s when the boy went through the wall! Noah turned to look at his parents and they must have saw it too!
Noah grabbed his trunk and ran towards the wall. His parents trailing after. Right as he was about to crash into it, he went through! Emerging on the other side, Noah could not believe he was looking at a beautiful red train. The Hogwarts Express listed across the side. Noah jumped excitedly. Gave his parents a big hug each and said his goodbyes. His trunk was loaded and he took his first steps to his new school alone.
