"Hm. Interesting." It made sense to some degree, but the boys logic was still flawed. Or so she thought. It sounded as if he had a idea of what was happening to the students; just not a completely clear idea. "Alright, so if that is the case, then how come the do not put more ssstudents in third year? Do you think they avoid doing that, because they think the sssudden change will ssscare sstudents? After all, I find most people are not fond of the idea of change." When she said most people, she really meant herself. She didn't like change but she dealt with it. As a growing metamorph, she had to deal with it.

At some point in their adventure Schrödinger would decide that he was tired of walking, and jump up onto Xailahs shoulders- nearly taking her down. He kind of just melted around her neck like one of those fox stoles, that old ladies wore. Her great aunt had a fox stole. Xailah didn't like it much, because of is emotionless and beady little glass eyes. They would give you sappy little looks, and their gaze would follow you around the room all the time; it was practically impossible to ignore their dead glances. "So what exactly sshould I be looking for?"

She took mental notes, so she could go and write down what she was learning, later. She took note of every movement, every glance, the tone of his voice, certain words that he used; everything would be stored in a special little drawer in her mind. And when she got the chance, she would watch his eyes. She had always been told that eyes were the windows to the soul- or the soulless, if that was the case. And seeing that she herself possessed some large, and rather hypnotizing eyes; she was often inclined to look at other peoples eyes when she could. Most eyes reflected the emotions of their owner. But his?- His were cold.

For reference, there are tons of 3rd year npcs. So even if there aren't any player PCs, there are still a lot of third years ^^

No, that didn't match his numbers. Didn't match what he knew. This creature was wrong, it was as simple as that. The third years were numerous, just like all the other years. Sure, some of them suddenly vanished. But there always seemed to be enough, the numbers never really diminished. After all, if they did, it would be a matter for the ministry to handle. Or at least something for the professors to cover up, which they did not even try to do.

"What exactly are you."

He didn't like it, the way she had earlier tried to tell him what move would or would not be stupid. It was nagging on him. It nagged on him further that she walked with such a lack of furtiveness. She walked quietly, of course, but she did not slink. And then the questions that kept coming. Something was wrong, and he was prepared to challenge it. No one would lead him around, not in any sense of the word. He was not about to keep answering questions without giving any good ones in return.

"What exactly are you?"

The question that she dreaded answering. The one that was commonly asked. The one that she never had a good answer for. It cut her like a knife every time. "I'm a-...I'm just different. Thats all." The small person that lived inside her mind flinched, and backed itself into walls of grey flesh. The question was upsetting. She abruptly stopped following the boy Kaegen. She looked lost. Why are you here again? What was the point of this? The ever burning light in her eyes died. "I have to go." She stood there for a moment- just observing her surroundings. What are you looking for? An answer? -Yes. Maybe. "You know- you're not horrible. But you probably knew that already didn't you? These kids, they call you crazy, they call you a monster, but last I checked monsters can't hold a casual conversation. They just need sssomeone to cast blame on, you know?" She was having a sudden change in heart. Ah thats right. You came here wanting to meet him. With the intentions to hurt him. Pick him apart from the inside out. You sick fuck.

"They ssshouldn't blame you for some of those kids getting hurt in the bathroom. Sssure you might have caused the explosion, but you didn't hurt them. The explosion did." She shook her head. She was wrong and she was right. She knew it. She knew how it felt to be blamed for something that really, she didn't do. Yeah she kind of started the fire at 2019's Blossom Ball, but she didn't hurt any of the students there- well except for a half giant, but she had a good reason in hurting him. And yet some witnesses insisted that people got hurt because of her. No. False. There are ways of putting out a fire without getting burned. She turned to Schrödinger. "You're going to have to hop down, buddy."

It was like he understood her. He slunk off her shoulder, and onto the floor. "You like Schrödinger? He can hang out with you for the rest of today if you'd like." She shrugged. This was a strange occurrence. Schrödinger was very dear to her, and usually she had issues with sharing, and letting other people have things that were valuable to her. This was strange indeed. But she needed to be alone for a bit. She needed to do some reflecting.

There was a feeling- like a spider crawling up the back of her neck. It was weird. "Ah. I said goddamn! Goddamn..." She murmured, raising a slender gloved hand to the back of her neck. "We'll meet again. I'll find you- heck, maybe you'll find me if you're lucky enough." And with that, she turned on her heel. Small things that looked to be...spines? Peeked through her hair, and her fingers; which were still resting on her neck. "Tatty-bye." She slithered around the corner. Out of sight. Out of mind. And to think that you could have had a friend like me. Ha. Thats a funny thought isn't it?

Xailah has left the thread unless prevented. You can choose whether or not Schrödinger follows you.

"You don't know how to be real, do you"

It was a blatant question fired at the girl right after she had told him she was simply different. Kaegen was familiar with the mindset, at least to an extent, that he was reading coming off of this gryffindor. Most of the kids had it, but he didn't care enough about them to ask. He assumed they would die, and that would be the end of that. If they didn't die right then, they would die later, no big deal. But this girl wasn't really one of them. She was more a creature than a person.

"No. I'm every bit the monster. I tried my best to kill them, and I'm not sure why they still breathe. I must have been sloppy, or maybe they got a professor there faster than I thought they could."

He didn't think the girl had to go, in fact, he was pretty sure she didn't. But he had startled the creature, and it was seeking an escape. It or she, he hadn't decided. That was fine, she would eventually be back, one way or another. It was the way with creatures, it was their custom. Kaegen took a step back, as if to invite the girl to take her leave unharmed, as he continued.

"I meant every slice and spell that I dealt that day. Why should I have to explain my actions, why should anyone? I did them, I can't undo them, and that's the end of it. I don't need people on my side."

When the cat slipped down onto the floor, Kaegen dropped to all fours, and crawled towards it, cocking his head to the side before leaning back to rest sitting on his knees, only to see Xailah fleeing the scene.

"Thank you."
