Duel Beta Match 9 - Hugh vs. Nico Finished

There was no time to waste! If he could hit her once, he'd hit her twice! Like a giant hammer-wielding knight he would almost march forward as he let his weight swing along with the spell. The knock to the ground had hurt him in the back. With a low grunt of adjusting to the pain, he'd regain a stable sense of footing.

The Round

Hjørdis pretty much facepalmed as the duel turned back to its familiar game of Nico casting yet somehow missing the large target. Man, she really needed to work on her accuracy. Whilst Hugh seemed to just fail at casting. Sigh. Lessons for both of them were required it seemed. She had nothing else to say on that... She was getting bored but her face did not show this. She remained blank, just watching the duel ahead.

She did appreciate the fact that they both choose different spells to usual. It made the duel more interesting - well... would have done, if they had successfully hit. Sigh.

Oh no... there he was again. Really, all this duel was turning out to be was a Hughe embarrassment. With his head hung Lowe he'd get back in position. He did not really wish to hurt Nico. She was his friend. One of the few he had. Why was he supposed to attack her? There was alos no way he could beat her fast moves. He looked down at his heavy feet as he kept panicking.

Again Hugh would eventually lift his arm as Nico seemingly missed once more. Heh, maybe he was faster than he thought after all. Silently he'd try to whisper some courage into his big little heart. Sword at the ready, he struck out again. Wingardious Levitoza!
Were those the right words? Oh no... stupid.

Nico wished she was better at aiming but nonetheless... She did hit him a few times. Carefully, she eyes at the Head of House. Was she.. dissapointed? Probably... Some extra practice after class didn't sound like a bad idea...

But.. she wasn't defeated yet. Except... She didn't want to actually hurt Hugh. Hopefully he knew that. She cared about him. Heck... He was her best friend. She'd just tease him abit.

Aiming her wand at Hugh she spoke:

The Round

Hjørdis stifled a yawn as the duel continued. She wondered if this duel would ever end... Perhaps if someone had casted the curse of the bogies, there would have been an end by now. Maybe she could take a nap. There was definitely time to close her eyes and just snooze in the corner for a few hours, from the way this duel was going. It was not like either of them were in any danger of getting hurt right now. They were... both very far off that, in fact. High stamina and low everything else kind of did this.

Nico looked over at Hugh... Was he serious? Looking over at Professor Jensen, she could swear that the professor was falling asleep on the spot. Switching to the other side where the students on the last row started to take midday naps. Nothing happened. Or it seemed no matter what they tried, they couldn't hurt each other. Nico blinked for a moment and poked the tip of her wand against her lip.

What could she cast next?

Maybe... Maybe this?

Cautiously she aimed at Hugh and cleared her throat: 'Ehm.. Incendio!'
Her voice echoeing through the sleeping crowd.

Maybe he could do it. Who knew. He got some stuff right... sometimes... He looked over at his opponent getting ready to attack again. And by the sides he saw Professor Jensen clearly tired of playing referee for these two losers. He'd have to try to succeed for at least once. ONCE! Slowly rage began to build inside of him as he got slightly annoyed by everyone's reaction to this "boring" duel. They came to be entertained? He was not their little Pinocchio! His face grew red with a large frown now growing under his brow.

He cried out once more, trying to lash out with some restraint behind his actions still.

Hjørdis quirked an eyebrow as the pair suddenly burst into action. It was like they both finally realised that they needed to actually do something. Both of the students successfully cast a spell and managed to hit their targets. Hugh got hit by a small fireball, that caused his hand to sting a little but he quickly managed to brush it off. Nico got hit by a spell that clouded her mind a little and bunged up her nose. It started to get snotty, as though she suddenly had a cold. But she could still function. The head of slytherin smirked a little.  It was finally going to have an end...

The tall boy roared across the scene. The success of his spell finally giving him an end to this embarrassing duel. There was no time to waste. His singed hand only fueling his rage. He seemed to grow even more on the spot as he stood straight to show his full stature. His large hand made a large swing as he cast the force of energy from his wand.

As Hugh roared, Nico swiftly pulled out a tissue and blew her nose before she locked eyes with him. What a jerk move to give her a cold. Her health already wasn't the best. She would give him a taste of his own medicine. Her wand aimed straight at him as she called out. Her clear voice echoing over the crowd of half asleep students.
