The House Sorting
It was time for the Hogwarts sorting. Ellie and Aluna were so excited and hopefully, they really wanted to be in the same house. They looked up at the ceiling to gap at the enchanted roof which was sparkling with the star projection of the actul sky.with Aluna Vern
"Oh my gosh!" Ellie said to her best friend(Aluna Vern) next to her "I can't believe we are here! It is so much better than how my cousins describe! Of course nothing they say could compare!"
They were in the Hogwarts great hall as first years and were waiting to be sorted. After waiting a few minutes it was Ellie's turn.
"Randensmith, Ellie" she got called up.
Hmm yes a kind mind must be HUFFLEPUFF! the sorting hat shouted.
Ellie walked over to her table with a bunch of her new house members cheering her and other random students plus teachers clapping respectfully. Aluna, Ellie knew was going to be last since her last name was Vern. So Ellie looked at her, caught her eye and crossed her fingers. Aluna crossed hers back at Ellie and smiled. I hope you are with me! Ellie mouthed
After twenty-nine more kids finally Vern, Aluna is called.

The House Sorting
"Randensmith, Ellie" My best friend forever was called. The Hat dropped over her head and I held my breath in anticipation as the Hat pondered. We were both hoping to get Ravenclaw. After a few minutes of thinking, the Sorting Hat yelled "HUFFLEPUFF!" Ellie beamed as she sat down at the Hufflepuff table. Aluna knew Ellie had wanted Hufflepuff after Ravenclaw. Aluna waited anxiously as more kids were called. The anticipation was killing her! Finally her name was called. A s the hat dropped over her eyes, she anxiously thought, please put me in Hufflepuff, please put me in Hufflepuff! "Hmmm... Interesting. Why Hufflepuff?" The Hat murmured. "My friend and I have great plans" I thought back. "Hmm, you seem very smart, and ambitious. But you have a kind heart" The Hat noted. "Hmm, Hufflepuff or Slytherin?" Finally, The Hat made it's decision." Better be SLYTHERIN!", It shouted. Disappointment seeped into her bones. She quickly put on a brave smile. I'm sorry, she mouthed sadly at her friend as she walked slowly over to the Slytherin table. She smiled back apologetically. Aluna pushed the negativity away and went to sit down with her fellow Slytherins, who all welcomed her warmly.

The House Sorting
SLYTHERIN! The hat shouted and Ellie could see the disappointment on her friends face even if she was trying to hide it they had known each other since they were babies. The Slytherin table erupted and every one else clapped restfully including Ellie. They had had big plans! They were going to stay up late together and play Gobstones, and Exploding snap but now... Ellie looked at her and smiled. It's ok Ellie mouthed We can still play games at breakfast and lunch! Aluna gave her a small smile and sat down. Hopfully we have some subjects together! Ellie thought to herself. The headmaster than said his speech and food appered. Ellie grabbed a piece of Shepard's pie half listening to other older students talk to the new students about the Hufflepuff house and half watching Aluna hoping she would look over. After the main course was finished dessert appered so Ellie grabbed the chocolate trifle. Ellie saw Aluna reach for the same thing. A older studant scooped some jell-o on Ellie's plate telling her it was to die for. Ellie tasted it and scooped more. She was about to say to the person next to her thinking it was Aluna that she should try the jell-o but then remembered.
