Summer for him had gone a little bit...meh. Yes, he might have completely romanticized the idea of summer in his head, but the bleakness of his own still hurt a little bit when he listened to the stories of his friends and acquaintances, perhaps even just passerby that were boasting about all the things that they had done.

He too had attempted to do something. Oh yes. Remy Alto had attempted to visit his friend Dinara Lucey over the summer for a little surprise. However, multiple mishaps were thrown into his way, and in the end, Remy found himself in the middle of nowhere. Somewhere where it was snowing. That was one adventure, a positive or a negative one depending on who you asked. His parents found it absolutely terrifying, Remy thought that it was quite funny in the end, yet he thought that it was unfortunate that his little surprise was ruined. He would have loved to see the surprised face on Dinara Lucey and her folks as he would have spawned into their fireplace with heaps of gummi rats to share.

Nothing really changed much about Remy. He was the same boy as in the previous years. At least his personality was the same, he didn't really mature over the sunshine months. By the looks of it now, he'd never mature in his head! Granted, he had grown a little into his height and looked less like a ghost and more like a living human being now that he had even managed to tan a bit. He had yet to see if that would be temporary or forever. In short, he might have looked a little less awkward than before, but acted just as awkward as he had always done.

He was forking on some breakfast, playing with it more than anything. He had been rather enthusiastic about another year. Remy had quite enjoyed his first year despite all of the questionable things that had happened to him and his friends. Yes, even with all of those classes that he disliked greatly. The boy would have preferred to just play around instead. Still, he found himself often reminiscing about it as if he was some kind of an old man who would never see the light of the sun again.

They had exchanged letters a whopping once during the summer, mostly moaning about their siblings and that was it. Honestly, he kept it short on purpose, thinking that he needed to save up things to converse about with her once he would infiltrate the Lucey house, but that had proven to be a big fat failure. He still felt a little bit bad about it and quite disappointed, and was already scheming for another time that he would actually do it.

Most students would have come back from summer more bronzed, looking slightly freckled, but overall still better, if one could say that objectively. They'd also have magnificent stories to boast of their travels, or of fun adventures that they'd partaken in with their friends and family.

For Dinara Lucey, however, it had been quite a different story.

While the Luceys had their fair bit of fun learning all about the magical school that their middle-child (aka Dinara) had been attending, Dinara herself had spent quite the miserable summer waiting by the fireplace. She had been brimming with excitement and anticipation for the fun playdate to come, yet the aforementioned playdate partner (henceforth known as 'He Who Ghosted Poor Dinara') seemed to have disappeared off somewhere!

It was a mixture of pride and hurt, really, that caused Dinara to react the way she did. She couldn't stand that the boy didn't even bother returning her owl, much less ditching her for his own plans. In her mind, 'He Who Ghosted Poor Dinara' likely went off to some other place -- likely some other magical household's house and had a ball of a time there.

Of course, that isn't to say that Dinara wasted her whole summer break waiting for someone who seemed unlikely to turn up. She had also managed to uncover a whole new world of wonder: Makeup. Raiding Mrs. Lucey's makeup counter with all the ferocity of a trained Viking, Dinara had delighted herself in grabbing her mother's unwanted makeup and 'doing up' her face with it. It seemed as though the girl had finally started to blossom into the age whereby she finally understood the concept of vanity. Unfortunately, her sense of style seemed to be coming in much later than her sense of vanity, resulting in an experimental state that would have scared Dr. Frankenstein himself.

With this newfound sense of vanity, it seemed that Dinara had also developed a love for all things girly. Strutting into the Great Hall, her ill-fitting, glittery shoes that she had nicked from her brother's girlfriend clacked unpleasantly, cutting through the excited chatter of students. Throwing a haughty glance from the slight elevation that the heels had provided her, her gaze swept over the Slytherin table. 'He Who Ghosted Poor Dinara' must be seated somewhere within the bunch of green-robed students.

The school robes resulted in students appearing rather indiscernible from one another at first glance (as per a school uniform's intended purpose), but Dinara was not willing to blend in with the rest of the schoolmates. She had taken the liberty of topping her robes with a pastel pink, faux-mink cropped fur coat. As if that wasn't enough, she had gone on to bring a bulging bag of her mom's unwanted makeup products, committing a silent promise to herself to wear a different color of bright eyeshadow and lipstick color. On this fine day of Dinara's grand entrance back to school, she had opted for a bright pink eyeshadow (applied rather poorly, to say the least) as well as a bright red lip that was quite clearly overdrawn for her lips. On top of that, a sparkly tiara sat atop her newly-permed hair -- it seemed as though the lass had taken the saying, 'If you can't beat them, join them,' quite literally; opting to perm her hair into tight curls that seemed more befitting of a 65-year-old grandmother than a 12-year-old student. That wasn't the end of Dinara's "transformation". She had also scoured through lots of avant-garde beauty blogs and somehow decided that getting runway-esque bangs would somehow look good on her. Truly, a sight to behold as she stumbled down the Great Hall towards the Hufflepuff table, earning her loads of stares and whispers as she clacked past the rest of the houses.

Speaking of experimentations and vanity, the girl had also taken it upon herself to learn how to pose and smile -- though it didn't turn out all that well, either. Taking Tyra Banks' world-famous advice to 'smize' and committing it to muscle memory, the most Dinara could muster up was an awkward smirk of sorts. It looked more like she had a cramp somewhere than anything else, really. Still, Dinara felt confident and owned all these new beauty transformations -- that was all that mattered, right? As they all say, confidence is key.

As she stalked down the long tables, she spotted sight of a familiar 'He Who Ghosted Poor Dinara'. He'd somehow come back looking less lanky, having filled out better to fit his height. The ghostly pale skin had also tanned to a healthy tone, and Dinara felt herself faltering slightly. Did she really look as good as she felt? Nevertheless, she marched right up to the unfortunate male before pretending to drop her tiara in a poor effort to get his attention.

"Oops, I dint' see you there, sweaty. Wuld'ya mind passin' me back my expensive Swarovski crystal-encrusted tiara, please?" An odd, southern twang that sounded weirdly reminiscent of over-exaggerated accents that actresses adopted on television colored her words, as she stood stiffly in one of the many 'supermodel poses' that she had learnt off the web. Placing her hand on her hip, she leaned her weight on one leg before arching her back, attempting to do the thing that supermodels always did. Except, well, it didn't really work for her.

Staring at 'He Who Ghosted Poor Dinara' expectantly, the odd smile plastered on her face, [OOC: Check Avatar] Dinara awaited his reply. She was sure that he'd be utterly shocked by her transformation, and be filled with regret for ghosting her over summer! That'd show him.

At first, Remy wasn't even paying attention to his surroundings. He was more interested in the peas on his plate as he tried to fork them down, sighing about his unfortunate summer. Yes, visiting one's cousins and grandparents was quite fun too, but he did have a little seed of regret about not getting to hang out with his friends as much as he would have liked to. He was a social boy deep inside, despite making often little effort to maintain his friendships. He might have neglected his friendships over the year a little bit and was having some kind of a self-reflecting moment about it.

Until...

He heard the loud clicks of high heels echo in the great hall. Really, it wasn't that hard to hear it in a space like this. He assumed that it was some kind of a professor or an older student, given that he associated high heels with teenage girls and beyond. Not...twelve-year-old girls. His train of thought was stopped, but he didn't lift his gaze from his plate to observe who exactly was it strutting down the halls. Besides, he was having his own dramatic minute of silence, and it took all of his utmost focus to impale that pea with a fork.

What he had done could be described as 'ghosting' in a way. He had left her hanging and his playdate plans were soiled early from the start. Hey, at least the thought was right! It was just the practical part that had gone a little...awry. What he hadn't expected was the transformation that this 'ghosting' would impose on someone. He thought that all would be forgiven in this sense, even if he had been a bit sloppy with his 'keeping-contact' part. She would understand, and he'd tell her about the adventure that he went through when he found himself in some dark corner of the world, all alone.

The sound of something dropping next to him was enough to pull him out of whatever daydream he was going through in his head. Before he could even look down next to his feet to see what had been dropped there, a voice that was faintly familiar yet so foreign at the same time spoke to him.

"Oops, I dint' see you there, sweaty. Wuld'ya mind passin' me back my expensive Swarovski crystal-encrusted tiara, please?"

Remy looked up and he could have sworn to God he just jolted from the surprise of seeing that face. See, he would have liked to think that he did not really care for people's looks. Not for his own ones, not for anyone else's. It just wasn't his business. Yet when he was met with that abomination of a face, he almost screamed. He couldn't help it! It was very unsettling to see the combination of poor choices in make-up, hairstyle and fashion. He wasn't exactly a Vogue model either, but this was really something else.

Maybe it was the (bad) foreign accent, the unexpected transformation and it's shock factor, or Remy's lack of brain cells, but he could not put his finger on who this girl was. Maybe she was an older student that he had never seen, or a new student. Who knows? He wasn't eager to find out. His eyes were glued on the terrible pink faux fur coat and he was far too distracted to pay attention to her identity now. After a while of ogling at this poor lady, he could finally look down out of any scrapes of modesty that he had been left with.

Staring before himself with empty eyes, the word 'sweaty' was what his brain managed to register first. Remy subconsciously lifted the collar of his robes to smell if he really stunk that bad. It took him a few whiffs to debunk that theory as he looked back up. He smelled like popcorn from last night's little movie party, not like sweat. At least he hoped so. He could have been desensitized to his own terrible smell. He wouldn't say anything in answer to her and opted for silence. He was speechless anyway. What was there to say?

He eventually dipped down to pick up the tiara, eyes slowly rolling back to the monster...err...'girl' as he tried to fish for the 'expensive Swarovski crystal-encrusted tiara'. He finally managed to pick it up in his fumbling hands and handed it to this mysterious new figure.

"Here..." was all that he could mumble out, completely star-struck by this monster.

She knew it. A mere human like her couldn't hope to compete with the multitudes of half-veelas around, but it seemed as though her little fashion makeover had sure enough garnered enough of the same effect. The Remy Alto couldn't keep his eyes off her! Quite literally in fact, it almost seemed like the boy had to make a conscious effort just to look away from her. It would be an understatement to say that Dinara felt proud in that moment -- she felt ravishing.

Remy's little check of himself didn't go unnoticed by the little lady, either, she simply assumed that he felt conscious of his own obviously sub-par looks as compared to the new and improved Dinara Lucey. A small smirk found it's way into her face, and she twirled gracefully (or so she'd like to think, in actuality she had stumbled a fair number of times before making the full 360 turn) before bending over to pick up her 'expensive Swarovski crystal-encrusted tiara'.

"Wheyyyy (why), thenk you darlin'. Are you too sah-prised to see me in such a new and glorious light?"

Fluffing out her permed hair and sweeping her bangs to the side, Dinara carefully positioned the tiara back onto her head, making sure that it sat firmly and securely on the topmost of her hair for all to see. Adjusting her little fur-coat, the little terror leaned forward, the little wisps of her bangs brushing against Remy's hair.

"Ya must feel real sorreh that ya stood me up over the hooools." Grinning, she stood back upright, pretending to study her manicured nails. While her tone would have been interpreted as predominantly smugness, a small hint of hurt (or in modern terms, 'salt') could be heard behind it. "Doesn't take a genius to figure out that I am immaculate and enchanting now!" In her fit of excitement, the poorly put on Southern drawl had dropped, revealing Dinara's distinct voice clear as day. It rang out, bright and cheery, the girl evidently quite pleased that she had managed to incorporate the 'big vocabulary' that she had been studying over the holidays in an effort to make herself seem more cultured and polished.

Forgetting to maintain her 'feminine' poses, she stood with her hands on her hip, a bright grin on her face. Her transformation had been an absolute success, she was now one of the most sought after Second Years in Hogwarts!

For a moment, the whole 'pretty woman' facade dropped, and it was quite obvious to anyone, really, who bothered to pay attention that Dinara Lucey had in fact not undergone much of a transformation at all. At heart, she was still the warm-hearted, childish Hufflepuff. Appearance-wise... Much work could be done on her, that was to be sure.

It would be safe to say that the Hufflepuff wouldn't be getting many suitors for the coming year ahead, although even in her original state it wouldn't be likely for Dinara to even recognise any form of romantic advances.

It must have been a while since he had been this baffled by someone. This girl was really something. Something that he could never even begin to describe. She probably didn't know that she was this something. Poor girl must have been blinded by the Swarovski crystals to see what was really going on in Remy Alto's small mind. Honestly, she reminded him of the many clowns he had once seen in kiddie birthday parties. They were anxiety-inducing memories that he would have preferred not to have a flashback of again, but here they were.

"Wheyyyy (why), thenk you darlin'. Are you too sah-prised to see me in such a new and glorious light?"

This sleep paralysis demon of his kept going on with the southern, obviously fabricated accent. Well, obvious for literally anyone else than Remy. He blinked a few times, tilting his head as his eyes scanned the rest of the large hall. Was he the only one seeing this? Was she some kind of a nightmare come true, a hallucination? Punishment from high above (or way below) for Remy doing something? Did he anger the gods and goddesses of nightmares for them to present him with this kind of walking, breathing terror? On top of that, she could even twirl, poorly so!

Her sudden lean towards him just made Remy bend his upper body back, trying to create some distance between the Swarovski monster and himself. Had someone ever seen one of those muggle animal kingdom documentaries, they'd know that this scene really imitated an alpha wolf picking on an omega. He truly felt like a cornered animal right now, filled with awkwardness right to the top.

"I, uh, I'm really sorry but I don't think we've met!"

His poor attempts to escape were defeated as her bangs brushed against Remy's locks. Despite this walking nightmare looking like a...well, walking nightmare, he decided against being rude. Strangers were to be treated with respect. Granted, he usually had an ulterior move when he made friends with someone, such as getting some kind of a benefit out of his mates, but Remy had some sort of command over basic manners and respect. When she quit leaning forward, he could finally relax a bit.

"Darlin'?" he murmured to himself, under his breath, scratching the back of his head absentmindedly.

"Ya must feel real sorreh that ya stood me up over the hooools."

"Stood you up?"

This murtlap-of-a-lady (albeit hairy) was suddenly triggering something in him. She had dropped the southern drawl by now, and that voice was really sounding familiar. Connecting that voice with the words that she was saying, Remy was having a one of a kind Eureka moment. One could more or less pinpoint the moment that the realization washed over him. His jaw dropped and he stared at her like an idiot. He was all too familiar with this hairy murtlap!

"Immaculate and enchanting? How's that going for you? Any suitors around yet?"

At that point, he couldn't keep the grin down anymore. All of the aforementioned respect flew right out of the window as the identity of this troll had been revealed. Remy wasn't even sure if to laugh and smile, make fun of her, or to cry over the loss of his friend.

"Crikey Din, you look-, well, let's just say that your summer didn't seem to go too well without me," he was suppressing a giggle at this sight. He was glad that she had dropped whatever was going on earlier. The whole drawl and the awkward seizure-like poses that she had displayed. After bursting into loud laughter over her new mind-blowing look, he finally calmed down and wiped some of the tears of joy out of the corners of his eyes.

"Halloween came early this year. Glad to see you...No, rather glad to hear from you again."

He shifted his weight as he stood up, noting that they still had this weird gap between them. If he were to ever try and hug her, he'd probably have to bend his knees like an idiot. He still gave no apologies about his lack of replying over the summer ooc: what a self-insert and was trying to recover from the earlier blows that she had delivered. There was so much to uncover in here, so much to tease her about. He was getting nervous by this to-do list!

"Lucey, is it just me, or have you shrunk over the summer?"

Dinara's grin only widened -- she looked so much better that even the one person who's arguably seen her in her worst of states couldn't recognise her! Her grin quickly faltered down to a confused frown as Remy's smile began to widen. The ever-so-familiar taunting voice had come back to haunt her -- it seemed that her Veela effect had fallen off on Remy Alto. Well, she hadn't expected it to last long, anyway, she wasn't exactly a real Veela, just one who closely resembled one after her absolutely stunning transformation.

She recoiled as Remy's insults finally got through her thick skull. All this while, he was mocking her. Feeling rather foolish, Dinara narrowed her brows. Fine, perhaps Remy wasn't as simple as those girly internet blogs made males out to be. Still, the stubborn lass wasn't deterred. Sure, she may have faltered slightly, but what the poor Slytherin didn't know was that Dinara still had one last ace up her sleeve. Or her mink fur coat, one would suppose.

Delicately extending her right hand out towards the male, a large, shiny jewel reflected the gentle glow of the candles that illuminated the Great Hall, wielding it into a Weapon of Absolute Annoyance as it glinted, hopefully right into the eyes of the boy who dared spite her so. Having dropped all her pretences, she smirked gleefully, her eyes lighting up almost as brightly as the pink of her eyeshadow.

"Well, I'm really sorry you missed my wedding."

Almost as if on cue (which it was, really), Dunkin flew it with a majestic hoot, a regal expression on his face. Well, as much of an expression as an owl could pull together at least. A small enveloped, rather daintily decorated fell onto Remy's lap, with Dunkin circling overhead before landing right beside Dinara.

Should Remy break open the wax seal that sealed the envelope, the following card would have fluttered out quite neatly on his lap.

One could be sure that the girl in the picture was indeed Dinara, albeit with nicely straightened hair and makeup that was actually well-done, much unlike the current look she had going on. There was no doubt about it -- it was definitely a wedding announcement card.

The truth of the matter was that Dinara (in all seriousness) had attended an actual wedding over the Summer Holidays, and had been graced with the opportunity to be a flower girl for the very first time. It was quite an exciting experience for her, having had her own invitation card to be a flower girl printed out and all that. The invitation card was also the source of inspiration for Dinara's little trick -- there had been some form of file corruption at the Muggle printing shop, resulting in the data between the files jumbling up, combining the actual wedding invitation with Dinara's own invitation card, with a spelling mistake to boot.

It was something that she had been teased relentlessly about by the adults throughout the course of the wedding, and Dinara genuinely felt rather embarrassed about it. Still, the bride (Mrs. Lucey's close family friend) allowed Dinara to keep the little misprinted card as a joke, thinking it as something comedic that served only to enhance the memorability of their special day. The girl had been quite reluctant to keep it, intending to just stash it in a corner of her room or have Dunkin rip it up as bedding; but that was before she had the idea to use this asset to her own advantage. Dinara had spent almost too much time on this plan, one would think, having gone through the effort of acquiring an actual engagement ring and spending her time training Dunkin to fly in on cue with the little invitation card.

Flicking her finger out to gesture towards the invitation card, she once again adjusted the little tiara, before ostentatiously pretending to polish her ring on her faux mink coat.

It would seem that back at home, the Luceys were in a situation of absolute distress looking for their lost engagement ring. Unbeknownst to them, it sat quite comfortably atop Dinara's own ring finger, shining merrily, almost as if it were in on the joke itself.

Staring up at Remy, Dinara resisted the desire to step back, stubbornly insisting to hold her ground. Swallowing a small lump in her throne, she kept up the sickly sweet smile of how she would assume a newly-wed bride would, hoping that the boy's height didn't give him any advantage in seeing through her little ruse. "I do say, you must meet Timothy some day! He's the absolute sweetest, you see." A dreamy look crossed her face, or rather, what Dinara hoped could be perceived as a dreamy look; the girl was busy pretending to imagine how being in love would feel and being quite unsuccessful at it. Not that one could blame the 12-year-old -- she was in fact doing quite a good job of it. At least, a good enough job that Remy would likely not be able to notice that Dinara was still very much unwed.

Over the course of the last year, Remy was sure that he had seen it all when it came to Dinara. Honestly, what was there that they had not done? From skipping rocks to catching rats and poor attempts to study together. What else could she really throw into his way? The life of Remy Alto had been spiced up by the appearance of this little murtlap for sure, but he would never expect the groundbreaking news that would be brought up next.

She extended her hand, and Remy wasn't sure if she wanted for him to A) kiss it, B) shake it or C) bite her finger. He was gravitating towards the third option before he saw something rather disturbing. No, there were no maggots growing out of her hand. Instead, there was some sort of a ring on her ring hand. Specifically on her ring finger. It took him a while realizing what this position usually meant. Surely she couldn't be engaged or anything, let alone married. It must have been one of the accessories that came with her little Swarovski encrusted diamond set. An odd choice for an accessory for sure, but Dinara was very much out of the ordinary too.

"Well, I'm really sorry you missed my wedding."

Say what now? A wedding? Remy matched her widened eyes, but they lacked the shimmer that hers and her ring displayed. Was this some kind of a joke? If so, it wasn't really funny. The boy grabbed her hand again to inspect the ring more closely, absolutely defeated and in horror. His dinner had turned into a terrible disaster!

Out of nowhere, the owl that Remy had grown familiar to over their little train trip let out the most majestic hoot that he had heard in a while. Dunkin flew right by them, dropping a cutesy-looking envelope into Remy's hands. He quickly let go of Dinara's hand and like a crazed freak opening a Christmas present, he started opening said envelope. What he found inside was a sickly sweet card displaying Dinara in all her glory. Straightened hair, neat dress on. Overall less murtlap, more of the veela look she was going for.

Remy ran his eyes over the text a few times. Each time that he read it through again, something absolutely revolting was revealed every time.

"PATTERSON?" he let out a strangled yelp. Dinara Patterson had successfully managed to trick Remy Alto, lured him in with this plot of hers. Yes, it had many weird holes in it. For example, why had she specifically crafted this card for him, only to show off what he had missed? How did she even train the owl to do that? Had his head been any more clear, he would have had many questions and points to learn from.

Oh no. He was definitely not going to congratulate her on this feat. This was a defeat. She seemed so confident, so happy about it. That was what probably ticked him off the most. He wasn't sure what it really was, but he felt a little sting in his heart. There was a whirlwind of emotions going through his mind right now. What to do? What could he do? What was there to even do in these moments?

"You can't possibly be married at twelve. Are you even twelve? Let alone be married to some guy," he started, an unpleasant tone mixed in with shock in his voice. "Did someone force you into doing it?" There was urgency in his voice. This was a cataclysm, a catastrophe! A state of emergency had been issued in Remy's head by now, sirens going off and painting it all red.

He was the one to take a step back. Above all of those emotions, he felt something new. Jealousy? Maybe so. The idea that she had some kind of a really eventful summer with some Patterson boy was not appealing to Remy. As such, he followed the natural protocol and dramatically started ripping that card into halves first, then little quarters-of-a-cardboard. After he was done destroying that card, he kept his nose up high.

"Shannon, it's lunchtime," he called out, and immediately as he mentioned the word 'lunch', a small rodent's nose appeared from the inside of his robes. Ears and eyes followed as Remy started feeding the grey animal the delicacy that was paper.

"I do say, you must meet Timothy some day! He's the absolute sweetest, you see."

"Ridiculous. Unacceptable!" Remy huffed under his breath, not sure what to think of this. "Spare me, really. I'd rather not!"
The only way to really describe Marla's overall experience of second year so far was...well, blargh. She had to break up a fight between a weird, rather valumptuous dude with nuclear farts and Kyle DeRook, the only boy she knew who didn't have cooties. Had a not-so-great encounter with Illowy Magnard, a crying match with Savannah Rose, and.. It was just not going so hot. Only a few days into the year and she was already giving up on life.

However, as tired as she was, her metamorph abilities made her able to pretend the severe dark circles under her eyes, and her hair, greasy enough to supply a McDonald's kitchen on a busy day, didn't exist. So, even being lethargic to a fault at the moment, she appeared more rejuvenated than ever. With Kyle's big, rugged leather jacket draped over her shoulders, she hobbled into the great hall like an intoxicated toothpick. Yes, her face made her seem more energetic than usual, but her posture was not spared whatsoever. In fact, it was a surprise that people hadn't started to refer to her as the Hunchback of Notre Dame, because she sure as hell looked like one right now. Scanning the area before making her way to the table dressed to the nines in red and gold, a..Rather flashy student caught her eye. Even being as far away as she was, it was common knowledge that someone that willingly dressed like that was either in need of a guidance counselor or in the midst of a fiery mid-life crisis.

As insanely hungry as she was, with how crappy her year was so far, she was in desperate need of something to lift her spirits, and if this couldn't, then nothing would. So, she made her way over, stifling a laugh. God, the girl was worse up close. Hair that looked as if one attempted to fried a block of ramen noodles, and horrifyingly vibrant pink shadow. Every single time she analyzed the girl's face more, she would notice something that made it that much worse. Good lord, Marla wasn't very familiar with makeup herself, and didn't care about appearance, but who in the world let her leave the house like that? And then it hit her. The frizzy hair, and her peppy expression... There was no doubt in her mind; That was Dinara Lucey! The girl she had met in the abandoned bathrooms with Emile and Ruby. Although they haven't spoken since that day, it wasn't surprising that Dinara would do something like this, as terrifying as it was.

Taking a few more shuffles towards the awfully dressed Hufflepuff, she seemed to be speaking to an extremely baffled boy. She leaned on a bench, until she was shoved off and heard a small 'fuck off' from an upperclassman. Oops. Marla moved closer to a now definite empty part of the table and opened a book she had brought with her to lunch, "casually" taking a quick skim of her book... Or so they thought. While she was listening, she jumped as Dinara mentioned something about a wedding. In fact, she almost slid into the conversation herself to scream and wonder what the hell this girl was thinking! Apparently, the boy was thinking the same thing as he screeched Patterson. Really? That was such a stupid last name. Could have at least married someone with a cool last name. But then she realized... Would anyone really marry Dinara looking like that? And Dinara didn't know the first thing about boys! She was lying, oh.. Oh no. Soon this boy would find out, and make fun of her for ages. Marla had to do something. Her and Dinara weren't too close, but it was the least she could do for the girl, considering how sweet she was.

Scurrying out of the great hall, she immediately closed her eyes, concentrating harder than she ever had in her life. This past year, she was gradually getting better at controlling her metamorph abilities, and although they weren't great, she wasn't too shabby. Once done, the girl was now.. A boy. With scruffy, shorter brown hair that would have looked nice if it wasn't in a mohawk and pretty much the same exact face, but slightly more masculine. Sadly, she wasn't able to change her height, and it made it even more horrible that she was...4'2. But who cared?! With her awesome hair and leather jacket, all the girls would be fawning over her, including Dinara. Timothy Patterson was going to be a lady killer, even if he was a midget! Fishing around in her huge pockets for anything, she had found some sunglasses that she bought over the summer and shoved them onto her face. Taking a deep breath, she stood up straight and began to swagger back into the great hall. It was showtime, baby.

Shoving her hands into her pockets, she accentuated the movements of her shoulders, doing finger guns to everyone that looked at her in the halls. This is what cool guys did, right? This is what she saw in the movies, it had to be true! Eventually, she made her way to Dinara and the other boy, slinging an arm around the Hufflepuff's arm. "Hey, Dinnykins. Long time no see. How's my favorite wife doing?" She asked in a deep, scratchy voice, throwing up a gang peace sign, nodding her head in the direction of the boy that Dinara was talking to. "YO, my man, what's cracalackin? Do you like sports..And cars? Cuz I love cars. And sports.. Yes I definitely do," She crossed her arms and nodded confidently with a smile, putting his hand out. "I"m Dinnykin's hubby, Timmy Patterson. But you can call me Patty. Sup." She slicked up her mohawk and then plopped down on the bench next to the boy. As soon as she stopped speaking, there was an awkward silence. So awkward that there were goosebumps forming on her skin. She had to say something! Anything! "I like motercycles," She exclaimed flatly, pulling up her leather jacket and fixing her sunglasses. Nobody would be able to resist the man, the myth, the legend, Timothy Patterson now!

"your loss, baby !!"

Her ace was one that had succeeded in all it's splendid glory. Dinara had never been one to gloat over another's misfortune -- she was no sadist, but somehow watching Remy panic stirred up something strangely gratifying within her.

Struggling to keep a straight face as he yelped, Dinara simply chose to adopt an expression of utmost aloofness. It was much easier for her to pretend that she was was above caring about the Slytherin's little meltdown than to even try to react appropriately. It was funny to watch Remy scramble about like a crazed chicken while she buried her jewelry encrusted fingers into Dunkin's soft, downy feathers. Ah, the life of a newly-wed bride!

"Yeah, well, I actually met Timothy over the hols. He couldn't resist the Dinara charm." She puckered her lips as she spoke. Dinara may have expected to look alluring with her crimson red pouted lips, but in all honesty all she managed to achieve was the look of a freshly caught fish with obnoxiously large lips. Besides, it stung a little to hear Remy question her admittedly fake marriage the way he did. Tossing him a sideway glance, she pulled out a powder compact from the inner pocket of her fur coat, "touching up" her makeup in an attempt to seem nonchalant. "Besides, what's wrong with me marrying some guy?" With every sentence, the powder built up on her face like layers of frosting sugar on a freshly baked cake. "I'm very much happy with my hubadubdub! No other guy has treated me the way he does."

Snapping her powder compact shut with a dramatic flourish, Dinara leaned back in a poor imitation of an elegant swoon before leaping back up and screeching as she watched some... Twitchy thing emerge from Remy's robes to devour her invitation card. Catastrophe would have surely ensued, with Dinara pointing at Remy's robes where the twitchy rodent had just been and yelling at Dunkin to 'Geddim!', and her tiara flying forward to meet Remy squarely in the jaw.

It was in this instance, before all hell broke loose, that fate seemed to play some sort of a stupid practical joke on both Remy and Dinara, as if they weren't already enough of a joke as they were. The Timothy Patterson hopped up beside her, quite casually slinging his arm around Dinara's. If she hadn't been so shell shocked in that moment, the Hufflepuff may have realised that "Timothy" did look quite familiar, someone that vaguely resembled a particularly fiery Gryffindor that Dinara had chanced upon in the abandoned toilets.

One could be quite sure that if Remy himself was (somehow) not in an utter state of shock, he would turn to see Dinara with her jaw dropped open, her tiara having toppled off and hanging off a loose curl -- an oddly apt visual reflection of Dinara's rapidly declining sanity.

Shifting rather uncomfortably, Dinara's mind raced with all the speed of a fast and nervous Italian Greyhound dog. She hadn't been made aware that Timothy Patterson was real! Did that mean that she was truly Dinara Patterson now? Dinara wasn't ready to get married!

In the 5 seconds that Dinara spent trying to think, God knows how hard those poor 3 brain cells had to work, she, once again, decided to make the best of the situation. Or at least, what Dinara defined as the 'best' she could do.

"Ah, haha! Yes, hello to you too, my favourite hubbadubdub, Timmy Patty Boo!" Attempting to gather any scrap of dignity she may have left, Dinara blew a flying kiss to "Timothy" in the most obnoxious fashion ever, getting smeared lipstick on her fingers and further disfiguring her already poorly done face. There, that should be convincing enough. "Indeed, my dearest honey boo bear is so cool. We had a ride around the countryside on his motorcycle during the summer!"

As she spoke, her gaze remained trained on Timothy.it was almost as if she was trying to communicate telepathically: Who in good heavens are you?Still, the awkward, 'model-esque' smile remained plastered on Dinara's face, along with her poor attempt at 'smizing' that very frankly, looked more like she was in pain than anything else.

In all seriousness, Dinara Lucey would likely be in quite some pain. She had only intended to scare Remy, how did it end up like this?

Remy had not been equipped with knowledge on how to deal with these situations. He had stated earlier very clearly about his disdain for this Timothy Patterson. He did not want to see him right now, not ever preferably, or lord knows what Remy would do! Probably pounce on the poor boy and get his own backside kicked in the middle of it all. He was more bark than bite if anything, this walking pool noodle could hardly pin anyone down.

What he did not expect was for Timothy Patterson to magically teleport into the school. If Remy remembered right, one could not apparate here either. He had also not expected for Dinara's new husband to be...like that...?

Entering with much confidence, or at least what Remy could interpret that swaggering walk as, armed with finger guns was no else but Timothy Patterson. Honestly, there was a lot to take in from that sight. First of all, Remy was absolutely terrified, frozen in fear. He yelped and clasped his arms over his chest as if trying to shield himself. If this disease that they carried turned out to be infectious, who would accept Remy as he was anymore? Now there were two abominations staring at him instead of just one, double the trouble. Where to begin with? The hair? The clothes? The whole demeanor that this boy radiated? Obviously, Remy was completely oblivious to the fact that Timothy Patterson was a completely made up person, and all that he could think about was that god-awful mohawk hairstyle with those sunglasses.

It didn't get much better when he opened his mouth. See, Remy was still trying to process what had happened minutes ago. Dinara's new scandalous look, her new scandalous marriage, and the scandalous husband that had now clung his arm around her. He woke up as if a lightning had just struck through his body, and yelped once again, eyes reflecting true horror. He wasn't even sure what to be most scared of!

"What do you mean Dinnykins?" His screams almost echoed through the great hall as he started digging for his little necklace with a cross on it. Remy had seen how in horror movies they'd always shoo the demon away by waving one of those around and performing some kind of a Gregorian chant. Upon slapping his chest like a gorilla gone insane, he realized that he had left the necklace on his bedside table. He was completely unarmed now in the face of grave danger.

The creature...monster...boy-thing had managed to prop himself on the bench next to Remy and the silence pressed on the necks on each and every single one of them, just like a guillotine would. He felt himself choking up as he stared into the abyss that Timmy Patty's sunglasses offered for him. His brain had completely seized any activity and he had turned his fight or flight mode on into full-drive. How could he have allowed this to happen? Those cursed 'hols' and motorcycles!

Everything seemed to happen in slow-motion, or maybe that was just Remy's skewed sense of time. He felt like he was the protagonist of some really sad and dramatic movie about his best friend turning into a child-bride. Obviously this was more anticlimactic than any of those blockbusters, but it would have been considered belittling his feelings right now if one would say that aloud. Upon this interaction between the three of them, Remy had learned something new about himself. He absolutely hated, detested motorcycles!

"I just need a moment to process all of this." He whispered and stared at his plate as if he was some kind of a soldier who just came back from the war, equipped with the thousand-yard stare. He needed time to think about his next move, which was rather rare for him. What pulled him back on the Earth's surface by his legs was Dinara Lucey's voice. Felt like this rumba was starting again and he was not happy Jan with it!

He hadn't caught on to the awkward expressions between the newly-wed lovers staring into each other's soul with many questions going through their head. He was too busy wallowing in his own pity. His surprise and hurt turned into some kind of disdain and rage, and the boy jumped up back on his feet. Now he was irked.

"Well, Dinnykin's hubbadubbub Fatty Patty," he started with some evil nickname that he had to think about for at least one minute to come up with it, "-I absolutely hate sports and cars and motorcycles!" He huffed, nose upturned high as he dug for something else in his robe again. Poor Shannon had been used and abused throughout this whole short period of time that Remy had owned the rat for. Behold, in all of her glory, his ace in his sleeve (or robe to be more exact).

With zero hesitation, Remy held up the rat above his head as if he was some kind of a baseball pitcher, and catapulted the fat, absolutely humongous rat at the boy, hoping for both Shannon's and his own sake that his aim was as great as he thought it was.
