Hello there
It was a sunny afternoon, and Lemon's History of Magic class had just ended. Admittedly, there was a point in the lesson when they thought it might drag on forever. Once the lesson had ended, Lemon slowly detached themself from the desk that they were glued to during the lesson, and began to pack up their things.
Despite being a good student, even Lemon had their least favourite subject. Usually, they were able to combat the boredom by taking as many notes as possible, and not just of the class material. Sometimes, they'd have a whole page of notes that were just numbers. They'd count the chairs, the desks, the lanterns, the windows, books; they'd count anything they could. However, this lesson, they'd finally run out of things to count. They'd even counted specks of dust on their desk.
Instead, they'd spent this lesson imagining things. Lemon never understood why people called it 'daydreaming': in real dreams, you almost never have control over what happens, and it makes it sound lazy. In reality, they'd create images on the back of their mind and watch them, and create these scenes, or even try and work out something in their head.
Naturally, they were the slowest to pack up their things. At least, one of the slowest. Out of the corner of their eye, Lemon saw another student still packing their bag.

Hello there

Lottie was a ravenclaw, and true to the nature of her house, she did enjoy her studies. Or most of them, at least. Lottie was tired after her trip to Beauxbatons, and her head was not in it for classes today. Most of the day, she had spent her time staring at the board tirely, part of her wanted to skip classes to rest, however the fear of being caught skipping and therefore being confronted by someone was stronger than her fatigue.
Even though she was in class, she wasn't doing her work, instead, she sat doodling on her paper and pretending like she was paying attention. The young ravenclaw reflected on her past trip and how it had been fun, even if it had pushed her way out of her comfort zone. And slowly, her doodles took on the rough shape of the cabins and landscape around the French school. Lottie zoned out the sound of the professor talking, and she didn't notice when everyone started to get up to leave. It wasn't until the room was almost empty before Lottie realized that class had ended and she started to pack up. She hurriedly shoved her belongings into her bag and looked around quickly, panic obvious on her face.
But wait.
She noticed another student still packing up; maybe they were tired as well, or else they were just slower than the hoards. If she were bolder, Lottie would have introduced herself, but instead she just smiled at the teacher and continued to pack up her stuff.

Hello there
Lemon decided to call out to the girl. They'd never been shy, one might describe them even as shameless. "Hi! What's your name?" they voiced, much louder than they needed to. The sound echoed along the walls of the classroom.
"Sorry about that," they said, almost as loudly as the first time. It didn't make any sense that they were shouting when the girl was only a few desks away from them. "I'm not great with my inside voice," they explained, laughing. It was so comical, Lemon shouting a greeting at this clearly shy girl only a metre or two away from where they were standing.
Snatching up their things that still weren't packed up yet, Lemon moved from their desk to the desk beside the girl and plopped their books and whatever else is in their bag down. "Sorry again," they repeated, a smile spread across their face. "As I said, not the best with indoors voices. I'm great with my outdoor one, though," they added, attempting to make themself more approachable to the girl. "Anyway, hope I didn't scare you off... at least... not too much."
"I'm Lemon. Like the fruit which, luckily, I love beyond human comprehension. What's your name?"

Hello there

Lottie nearly jumped out of her skin when the other student started speaking. She gave a shy smile and pushed a stray clump of hair out of her face but kept her face on her belongings. "I'm Charlotte Laurent," she said softly, the complete opposite of Lemon's loud voice. "Most people just call me Lottie, though," She added after a moment. Charlotte had always felt far too formal to the young girl; however, out of habit, she always introduced herself as Charlotte. When Lemon plopped down beside Lottie, the ravenclaw jumped again ever so slightly, not that Lemon was scary, she seemed quite friendly. Lottie was just not used to people noticing her, she had always thought she was pretty good at hiding in the back of everyone's view. "It's ok." She smiled. "My sister is loud, too." Lottie paused as she thought of Katie; a wave of homesickness flowed over her as she thought about what her sister would be doing right then.
"Do you like lemons on their own? Or do you mean, like, in lemonade or, like, candies?" Lottie asked, Picturing Lemon biting into a Lemon chunk with a huge smile on their face. It was a funny image, and a small smile peaked through Lottie's face. Lemon's energy, or at least loudness, was starting to help with Lottie's Lack of awakeness. How had she never met Lemon before?

The girl introduced herself as Lottie. "My sister is loud too," she said, pausing for a moment. Lemon looked into her eyes, trying to see what she was thinking about. "Do you like lemons on their own? Or do you mean, like, in lemonade or, like, candies?" They smiled cheekily. "Both. They're good on their own and in candy or whatever else you want it in!" Lemon's voice seemed to be making Lottie more awake or, perhaps, a little bit more alert.
"I've got three siblings, one older and two younger than me. My older sister is in Hogwarts as well. She's in... 4th year, her name's Azora. We're really close. I've also got 2 younger sisters. One of them's going to be joining me and my sister, Azora, at Hogwarts next year, when I'm in my second year. Her name's Seraphina. And my last sibling's name is Rowan. It's a pretty full house", Lemon said, cracking up a little bit. "It's honestly a bit of a mad house. I mean, you can tell we all have pretty unusual names, and I'm not the only one in my family with a strong personality. I really do wonder sometimes how we haven't all driven Mamma crazy already."
Lemon paused, laughing again. "And yet again, I've gone off track. So umm.. what's your sister's name?"

Hello there

Lottie smiled. Lemon was very nice, and it seemed like maybe they could be good friends. The image of Lemon eating a lemon like you'd eat an orange made the girl's smile grow slightly more. "I don't think I'd be brave enough to try plain lemon without any sugar or sweetener."
Lottie would not have thought of herself as a foodie, and similarly to the way she always tried to keep to herself, risk-taking was not something that Lottie found all that interesting, and she tended to stick to the same foods she always ate.
"I've got two sisters. Olivia is my older sister; she's two years older than me, and Katie, my younger sister by 10 months, is more like my twin than a younger sister. Both are back in Crawley with my parents because neither one is a witch." She shrugged, "My Mom is a witch, but she doesn't use magic much because she kind of gave it up when she married my Muggle father." It was old news to Lottie, the sacrifice her mother had given to not use the one thing she had been good at, but alas, that's what love does to people.
"My parents own a bookshop back home, so my family spends all their time there." She tried to keep the loneliness out of her voice, but it was still filling up every crack in her body, she missed her family.

Hello there
Lemon listened intently while Lottie was speaking. Lemon was much more of a talker than a listener, but they didn't feel impatient at all while she was speaking.

Lemon had grown up in a magical family, and imagined it would be very difficult to be raised by a mother who had given up magic, and even harder to be the only child to be a witch. Perhaps this was yet another example of the fear that so many people have of people who are different. This has always been clearly visible when one is comparing the muggle and wizarding community, but Lemon had faced this on countless other occasions with people who were magic just like themself.
"Is it hard? Going to school here?" Lemon imagined it would be.
