Brave Enough to Fly?
It was the first weekend of the school year, and Ike had the luck to make a few friends already in the Gryffindor house. He was glad it was fairly easy to get along with the other students his age. He, Darius, and Arya had all agreed to go to Diagon Alley together, mainly to peruse and just look around- perhaps get an ice cream at Fortescue’s, but the main attraction was the quidditch shop at the alley, that Ike himself saw, but didn’t have the time to browse the first time he was there.
Ike was a huge fan of quidditch. He wanted to play as soon as he was able to, but at the moment he couldn’t because 1st years weren’t allowed to have personal brooms, nor were the brooms themselves affordable. Nevertheless, the dream remained in the young boy’s head.
The trip had one other purpose, of course. They needed to find the potion ingredients to cure Darius’s hair loss. He’d been bald all week, and so he had to cover up his head with a hat just to make it to class without complete embarrassment.
It was noon on Saturday when the trio finally arrived.
Ike couldn’t believe his luck- not only did he have two friends, but Darius was bro status AND they had managed to convince the girl they both had a crush on to come along with them.
Ike had a plan. It was stupid. It was crazy. But it was daring as hell.

Brave Enough to Fly?
"So..." Darius started, looking at the bro he had right beside him.
"What's the plan?" He asked, fixing the pointed wizard hat on his head, which served to hide his partially bald head, caused by a hair-loss spell joke in the Great Hall.
They were together: Darius on the right, Arya on the left and Ike at the centre of the group.
It was a warm Saturday noon, perfect for going to Diagon Alley and planning crazy ideas with his bro.
Darius was kinda tired of the students making fun of him, so he wanted his hair back.
They were standing near the Apothecary Shop, which had all the ingredients they needed for sure.
"Are we going to enter or..." He asked, staring at the wonderful and mysterious shop's windows, which exposed some ingredients sales.
"There are... Uh... Beetles with 20% sale! Are we going to need that, Arya?" He asked the girl behind him, who was carrying the Potions Book. Maybe they had something for his 'scalp problem'.

Arya was feeling bad about the experience in the great hall that has been going wrong. Her intention wasn't to hurt Darius nor did she wanted to make him half bald. It was something she wouldn't forget. This experience would make her grown up and she learned that using spells without enough of practice could easily turn wrong.
The young girl as then accepted the invitation of Isaiah and Darius. They wanted to go visit Diagon Alley on this saturday to look up some Quidditch equipment. The brown haired girl had thought it would be a great chance to buy some ingredients for the Hair-raising Potion they would have to make. All of this, to save Darius from being hairless during a few months.
This kind of event was new for the young witch. She always used to be friend with Muggles. So, each time she was playing with them or talking with them, she had to hide her true nature. Her dad used to tell her being in a magical school would open her to many new things. She had to say that he was right.
The young witch had brought with her <<Magical Drafts and Potions>> . it was the current potion book that was needed in their first year at Hogwarts. With this book, she would be able to follow the recipe and get all the special ingredients to create the potion.
The girl turned her eye in the direction of Darius and Isaiah. Both of them were talking about a strange plan that concerned brooms. In the ear of the young Gryffindor, those words weren't a good news. What kind of plan where he going to bring them along with? She did not knew.
- Alright guys, for the potions I will need a few ingredients, but Beetles aren't one of them, sorry Dari. So let's keep looking for some rat tails first. . . It is a main ingredient for the potions.
She was looking around in the shop to find as many ingredients as she could, but mostly all of them could be found on the outside. Arya was walking behind the two young boys, trying to read correctly all of the recipe. She needed to do it perfectly otherwise Darius would end up with strange hair with different colors.
- So Isaiah... What is that plan you wanted to do?

Brave Enough to Fly?
Ike’s plan was simple. They’d pretend to be older students, and convince the shopkeeper to let them try out some of the brooms.
“Well….I’ve always wanted to try flying a broom….but the Quidditch team doesn’t let first-years onto the roster. So I was hoping we could go and pretend to be older students so the shopkeeper lets us try the brooms!”
Ike smiled to his companions. This was going to be quite interesting for them, if they pulled it off.
“Back in the States, quidditch isn’t as popular. Everyone there mostly plays quodpot…have either of you ever tried it before? It’s really fun! There’s this exploding ball and stuff…”
Ike stopped himself from continuing, realizing that he was getting off topic. He scratched the back of his head.
“…Ah! My bad….yeah….so, we go in, we pretend to be older, and then we get to try the brooms! Not too hard, right?...And THEN we can get Darius's potion ingredients!”
In his eyes, the plan was going to be fine. Darius's lack of hair would likely convince the shopkeeper he was older, or at least that was the intent. If that didn't work, the puppy dog-eyed plan might work. Contingency after contingency. Ike had this all floating in that crazy head of his.
He grinned, before dragging his two friends into the shop (willingly or not), and greeting the shopkeeper.
“Hello there sir! My friends and I are third-year students, and we were all interested in the brooms you have here today! Isn’t that right, fellas?”
Ike grinned, hoping to entice the shopkeeper into a friendly conversation.

Brave Enough to Fly?
Darius listened to his friend very carefully, but he wasn't really sure about the plan. He frowned a little, unsure.
The boy was known for being naive and extremely silly, sometimes. He didn't know what to think. He respected his bro and everything, he also wanted to try those brooms, but...
Darius stared at Ike for a few seconds, scratching his partially bald head covered by the pointy hat. Then he stared at Arya, trying to understand if she agreed with him or not.
"Uh... I dunno Ike-" He tried to say, but he was immediately dragged into the Quidditch Supplies shop.
They couldn't fly pretending to be Third-year students because, actually, they didn't know anything about flying! They would have fallen down from the broom and get hurt, for example. What if his friends accidentally hurt themselves? What if they broke something inside the shop or outside? He definitely didn't have the money to buy stuff, he didn't want to get detention either.
He just nodded, hoping for the best.
Then Darius cleared his throat and tightened his belly muscles to let out a more masculine and older voice, but he just sounded funny and weird.
"Yeah, that's right bro" He answered with a proud grin "We're looking for reaaally cool brooms, not baby brooms and First-year stuff because we're absolutely not First-year students. Ya know what I'm talkin' about, right sir?"
The old and expert Shopkeeper didn't look very convinced of his performance, but he didn't really care. He had to sell his stuff, after all.
"We have the best brooms in all England here. They're the fastest, most ancient and with the most accurate control and stability. We also have brooms that can fly even up to the clouds. Are you sure you can handle that?" He asked them with a light note of challenge in his deep, adult voice.

Brave Enough to Fly?
The young girl was unsure of Isaiah plans. This situation was troublesome and they would surely get caught while trying to make this plan work correctly. However, the situation was attracting the girl somehow. She wanted to take the risk. Even if her common sense told her otherwise. It might be fun after all. And why not? Nothing bad could happen to them. She was then happy to be included in this adventure. She knew what Isaiah was talking about! The Quodpot game! She was from Canada and many of the United States sports were in her country too! She smiled at the young boy.
- I know this sport! We have it too in Canada!
She was happy that someone knew similar things to her. She had felt really homesick when she first came to England. She loved her origin country and would have probably stayed there if her mother would have been more open-minded. Returning her attention to Isaiah and Darius, the young girl tried to smile in the most common way while giving her approval for this adventure.
- Alright, Isaiah, I'm in!
It was at that moment that her eyes meet the worried eyes of Darius. She smiled at him. It would be alright, they were an awesome group. They could live through everything together. She followed the two boys inside the quidditch shops but decided to stay behind at first. She would analyze the situation first and see when she can start interacting too so that the situation is still believable. Isaiah started explaining that they were third years, which could be a true statement but the Shopkeeper did not seem to believe all of what he had said. Once Darius started talking, it was the same reaction. Or mostly at least. They would have to work really hard to be able to try some brooms today. It was at that time that the girl decided she could start talking too. She walked over to the Shopkeeper and smiled.
- Hello mister, I am sure my friends and I can handle those brooms perfectly. We are going to be in the Gryffindor Quidditch team after all.
She had talked with insurance and without stuttering. Of course, the challenge like talk has been to be certain they would not run away at the first occasion. Arya was known for doing what she had said she would. She was going to fly on a broom today, and nothing could stop her from it.
